UPSC Adopts Aadhaar Verification, AI to Boost Exam Security

by admin June 8, 2025

To maintain the integrity of its examinations, UPSC has put in place Aadhaar verification and surveillance with AI. The latest step is a reaction to recent disputes such as the Puja Khedkar case and the NEET paper leak that have raised issues about competitive exam security.

As per the reports, with the new version of the UPSC online portal introduced on May 28, candidates must now take four steps: make an account, engage in universal registration, fill in the common form, and upload their documents for examination. Furthermore, checking your ICFR account with Aadhaar can be done by voluntary Aadhaar authentication (by pressing Yes/No or using e-KYC).

Before even a week was over, more than 92% of the registered users decided to use Aadhaar verification. As of June 4, there were 2.65 lakh users who created accounts, and among them, 1.13 lakh did universal registration; 1.05 lakh of these people confirmed their identity via Aadhaar.

The Chairman of UPSC pointed out that the new platform makes it possible for candidates to use the same saved information for tests like the Civil Services Examination, CDS, and NDA. The tender should be submitted by July 30 2025.

AI-enabled cameras will also be put in the exam rooms, making sure one camera monitors 24 candidates each. They are developed to find unusual or suspicious behavior like different movements from the candidates or exam monitors, along with unusual activities near the exam station. Immediate notifications and fees will apply for any case where something is wrong in the verification or equipment.

UPSC chairman Ajay Kumar said, “They have removed repetitive data entry, enabling candidates to reuse their details across exams for a seamless and efficient experience.”

Although using Aadhaar is voluntary, people who do not use it may see their votes counted later because the process involves manual checks. UPSC protects disabled candidates’ data and makes the application process simple and honest for all Group A and B central services.

ASE adopts AMD CPUs, begins evaluating Instinct MI300-series GPUs for AI

by admin June 6, 2025

AMD this week said in a blog post that ASE Technology, the world’s largest outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) provider, has transitioned to EPYC and Ryzen processors across its data centers and client systems, respectively. The transition has resulted in significant performance improvements and energy efficiency gains. However, perhaps more important is that ASE is now evaluating AMD’s Instinct MI300-series processors for AI workloads.

By adopting AMD’s EPYC processors for servers and Ryzen CPUs for client desktop and laptop PCs, ASE achieved a 50% boost in system performance and a 6.5% reduction in power consumption compared to its previous infrastructure, which resulted in a 30% decrease in total cost of ownership, delivering both operational and financial benefits. AMD’s blog does not disclose which processors ASE used before adopting AMD-based solutions, nor does it indicate whether all systems in ASE’s fleet now use EPYC or Ryzen processors. However, the mention of operational and financial benefits points to a substantial adoption of AMD-based systems.

“We need to handle a big volume of data analysis, including leading-edge technology for AI applications and our smart factories,” said Jekyll Chen, Director of IT Infrastructure for ASE. “We work for many semiconductor companies. Our challenges are the need for high performance, low latency, and high core count, in alignment with ASE’s ESG policy. Stability and scalability are two primary goals for us.”

ASE Technology Holdings is the world’s largest outsourced semiconductor assembly and test provider, with packaging facilities in China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan. The company has worked with AMD on advanced 2.5D packaging since 2007, and this largely resulted in the invention of high-bandwidth memory (HBM). However, while ASE does provide packaging services for AMD these days, we are unsure whether ASE packages AMD’s AI GPUs, as Instinct processors utilize TSMC’s CoWoS technology.

AMD says that many companies are adopting or evaluating its Instinct processors for on-prem AI inference, though ASE is probably the first company of this scale to confirm the evaluation of these accelerators. In fact, the confirmation may indicate that ASE is close to adopting Instinct MI300-series GPUs for its internal AI workloads.

“We must perform data processing, run AI algorithms, and make sure everything operates smoothly, efficiently, and with the flexibility needed in our smart factories,” Chen said. “For client PCs, we need to make sure that they meet the needs of engineering design and the high-performance objectives of digital transformation. We also evaluated the performance, stability, core count, efficiency, total cost of ownership, AI speed, and multi-tasking capabilities of the new servers.”

Re7 Capital Adopts Giza’s Self-Driving Agents for DeFi

by admin May 29, 2025

Giza, which builds advanced financial agents in Web3, has partnered with Re7 Capital, one of the biggest companies in DeFi investments. Re7 will make use of Giza’s autonomous agent platform to control its treasury, further demonstrating that major institutions now support autonomous capital management.

With over $40 million in cumulative transaction volume, Giza Agents are designed to make DeFi treasuries both smarter and safer. Unlike traditional rate-chasing bots, Giza uses a sophisticated non-linear optimizer that treats each DeFi protocol as a unique curve of liquidity, fees, and utilization. The result? Real-time rebalancing that only occurs when a move decisively beats the opportunity cost, saving treasuries from unnecessary gas spending and slippage.

Renç Korzay, the CEO of Giza, stated, “Until now, institutions had to choose between iron-clad control and top-tier performance. Giza Agents eliminate that trade-off; capital runs autonomously, relentlessly productive, policy-locked, and cryptographically secure. Re7’s deployment marks the moment self-driving finance goes institutional.”

Security and control are at the heart of Giza’s offering. Smart accounts owned by the treasury execute only when cryptographically signed with time-bound session keys. These keys define exactly what the Agent can do, down to the address, function, and value cap. Institutions can revoke permissions instantly, keeping oversight tight and reactive.

Giza’s customizable risk engine scores every allocation before it executes. If the DeFi landscape shifts, like sudden TVL drops or governance risks, an emergency exit is triggered using a pre-approved, gas-capped fallback route. Every move is logged on-chain for full transparency and auditability.

Re7 is kicking off with a $500,000 deployment into Giza’s flagship agent, ARMA, with zero custom code required. Back-tests showed a 67% boost in stablecoin yields and an 18.5% uplift on ETH compared to static strategies. This deployment also sets up the infrastructure for Re7-specific USDC and wETH agents, which developers are currently testing.

Because of this collaboration, Giza and Re7 are introducing a higher-grade system for self-driving finance, enabling treasury capital to operate at a higher level of intelligence all on its own.
