New Mod Adds Multiplayer To Marvel’s Spider-Man

by admin August 27, 2025

Last year, a trailer leaked for a cancelled multiplayer Spider-Man game that was being developed by Insomniac. It seemed cool. So cool in fact, that it seems to have inspired folks to try and use mods to make online web-swinging with friends a reality. And one such mod is now out, and it looks great.

On August 26, as spotted by ComicBook, a new PC-only mod has been released online that allows people to play Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered with up to six other players. The mod was developed by modder hbgda and is available to those who subscribe to the creator’s Patreon. You can see what the mod looks like in action below, courtesy of a video shared by popular creator Kami on TikTok and Twitter.

Spider-Man Remastered just got a working multiplayer mod on PC and it’s amazing.

— KAMI (@Okami13_) August 26, 2025

There are also multiple YouTube videos of the multiplayer Spider-Man mod in action, and it looks surprisingly stable for something as ambitious and wild as this. Sure, it’s not perfect, but considering Marvel’s Spider-Man on PC was never designed to support multiplayer, let alone seven people running and swinging around the map at the same time, the fact that this mod is not only playable but looks extremely polished is incredibly impressive.

Watching footage of hbgda’s mod in action has me hankering to install Spider-Man on my PC and try this out. It also makes me sad that we never got Insomniac’s online multiplayer Spider-Man game. It was reportedly going to be called Spider-Man: The Great Web and would have involved hopping between dimensions alongside your friends. Sadly, according to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, the game was canceled long before the trailer for it leaked in 2024 in the wake of the December 2023 Insomniac data breach.

While it’s very possible the game wouldn’t have had much staying power, which is a problem for a live-service video game, I would have loved to have been able to invite my pals to swing around NYC with me and cause some chaos. At the very least, I hope we see Insomniac add a multiplayer mode to a future Spider-Man game. Doesn’t have to be something elaborate, just something that looks like this mod, but which is playable on PS5, too.

For now, if you want to swing around New York City as Spider-Man with some other Spider-People, your only option is to download this mod and set it up on your PC.

No Man’s Sky adds fully customisable multi-crew spaceships you can build and fly with your friends

by admin August 27, 2025

Space can be a lonely place, what with it being – as a wise man once famously put it – so vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big and all. Which is where No Man’s Sky new Voyagers update comes in. Now, those long treks across the infinite expanse needn’t be quite so lonely thanks to the introduction of multi-crew space ships you can build, pilot, and stroll around with friends.

Customisable ships – not to be confused with No Man’s Sky’s existing customisable freighters, which essentially serve as gargantuan deep space bases – have been at the top of many a fan’s wishlist for quite some time. And today’s Voyagers update look to deliver and then some. After progressing to a certain point in the story, players gain access to a hangar-like workshop where new Corvette spaceships can be engineered both outside and within. Customisable components include hulls, wings, landing gear, engine parts, thrusters, and weapons, and all can be arranged to suit players’ whims.

And then there’s the habitable interior. “Add sleeping quarters,” developer Hello Games explains, “and you are ready to welcome a crew of friends on board. Add a mission radar and you are ready for adventure. A teleporter and you have an away team.” There’s also talk of med-bays and war rooms, or you can just add a window and watch the universe go by. And for thrillseekers, it’s even possible to flip open the Corvette’s airlock and go for a space walk together or, once within a planet’s atmosphere, sky dive to the ground.

Here’s a look at No Man’s Sky’s Voyagers update.Watch on YouTube

While newcomers to No Man’s Sky won’t have immediate access to Corvette construction given its unlock requirements, they’ll still be able to experience the feature in a brand-new limited-time Expedition. Alongside the usual array of cosmetic rewards, this’ll also unlock some ship parts players might find useful when trying to build their own vehicles in the core sim.

Hello Games says it’s had to rework “almost every part” of No Man’s Sky to accommodate Corvettes and their relative spaces, and to ensure crews can still roam their ship’s corridors and continue editing during the likes of warp jumps and planetary approaches. Much of the tech, it says, is shared with its upcoming Light No Fire, which will feature vast oceans players can similarly explore together on a single boat. This isn’t the first time No Man’s Sky has adopted technology implemented for Hello Games’ Earth-sized planet sim.

And it sounds like Hello Games is still far from done. “The most exciting thing about Voyagers for me,” writes Hello Games’ boss Sean Murray, “is the possibilities it opens in the future for No Man’s Sky, and I can’t wait to see where the team takes it from here.” And if you want to know more about No Man’s Sky’s Voyagers update, full patch notes can be found over here.

No Man’s Sky adds buildable custom spaceships big enough to fit all your friends on board

by admin August 27, 2025

How many bases do you need in a single game? Ask someone who likes base-building, like me, and they’ll probably say “As many as you can give me.”

No Man’s Sky already has a few kinds of player bases. Base-building was added to the space sandbox in 2016, along with freighters that can be parked in orbit and customized. Settlements can also be built and managed, which is like making an entire alien town your base.

And in the new No Man’s Sky Voyagers update, you can build and customize huge new ships called Corvettes that are big enough to fly around the galaxy with your friends acting as crew. You can even get out of the cockpit while in flight, stroll around the ship, and edit the layout while you’re in transit.

Related articles

“These ships have real interiors, med-bays, sleeping quarters, war rooms, radars, teleporters. It comes with you everywhere, which totally changes how you play. Decorating it with your friends gives you a space that you share together,” Sean Murry said in an email sent to PC Gamer. “Having multiple Corvettes flying over a planet together is incredible, especially when you pop the hatch and spacewalk or skydive from one ship to the other!”

Yep, you can jump right out and float around in space, or if you’re in the atmosphere, do a bit of skydiving, as you can see in the Voyagers trailer below.

For those of you who were hoping this announcement from Murray would involve Light No Fire, well, the planet-sized fantasy sandbox did get a mention, too. The same ship-building tech will appear in Light No Fire, though there it’ll be for the boats you need to cross the realistically massive oceans.

Along with the trailer, you can watch a more in-depth video about Voyager below. The update is live right now, and includes a new expedition so you can get started building your new mobile spaceship base.

Bitmine Adds Another 4,871 Ethereum To Treasury: Now Holds $7.65B In ETH

by admin August 26, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Ethereum is holding steady above the $4,400 mark after a weekend surge that briefly carried it to fresh all-time highs. The rally, fueled by strong institutional demand and broader market optimism, has been tempered over the past two days as the price retraced to test lower levels. Despite the pullback, ETH remains one of the most closely watched assets in the market, with bulls and bears both eyeing the next decisive move.

Analysts are divided. Some argue that ETH’s ability to maintain support above $4,400 signals resilience and a potential setup for another rally toward $5,000. Others, however, see warning signs of buying exhaustion and raise concerns of a deeper correction if market sentiment shifts.

Adding to the intrigue, blockchain analytics firm Lookonchain revealed that Bitmine, Ethereum’s largest corporate holder, bought another 4,871 ETH worth $21.28M just 12 hours ago. This brings Bitmine’s total holdings to staggering levels, reaffirming the narrative of large-scale institutional accumulation.

The combination of strong whale activity, heightened institutional demand, and volatile short-term price swings underscores the pivotal moment Ethereum faces. Whether ETH breaks higher into uncharted territory or succumbs to correction pressures will be a defining factor for the broader altcoin market.

Ethereum Whale Accumulation Strengthens Bullish Outlook

According to Lookonchain, Bitmine currently holds 1,718,770 ETH valued at $7.65 billion, making it one of the largest corporate holders of Ethereum. This accumulation trend has become a defining feature of the current market cycle, with other companies such as Sharplink Gaming and Bit Digital also expanding their ETH positions. Such large-scale institutional buying reinforces the bullish continuation narrative and sets Ethereum apart as the leading altcoin for long-term growth.

Beyond accumulation, macro conditions and legal clarity in the US are playing a vital role in Ethereum’s outlook. The clearer regulatory environment is attracting more institutions, which now see ETH not only as a key player in decentralized finance but also as an asset with growing legitimacy. This shift in sentiment is fueling expectations for Ethereum to outperform in the coming months.

At the same time, liquidity dynamics are tightening. Exchanges are reporting declining ETH balances, while OTC desks such as Wintermute highlight a fast-paced decline in reserves. This suggests that supply is increasingly being absorbed by institutions and long-term holders, leaving fewer coins available on the open market.

The combination of institutional demand, regulatory clarity, and shrinking supply creates a powerful backdrop for Ethereum. While short-term volatility may persist, the underlying fundamentals point to a market primed for continuation toward new milestones.

Weekly Chart Signals Strength

Ethereum’s weekly chart shows that the asset is in the middle of a significant test after its surge to new highs above $4,800. Following that rally, ETH retraced sharply, now trading around $4,422, reflecting a volatile but healthy correction after weeks of steep gains. Despite this drop, the chart still shows ETH maintaining its broader bullish structure.

ETH testing ATH levels | Source: ETHUSDT chart on TradingView

The 50-week moving average (blue line) is curving upwards, signaling renewed momentum after months of consolidation earlier this year. Meanwhile, the 100-week (green) and 200-week (red) moving averages remain well below the current price, reinforcing that ETH is still in a strong macro uptrend. The retracement seems to be finding support around the breakout zone of $4,200–$4,400, which could act as a new base if bulls defend it.

The most notable takeaway is how ETH has broken free from its long consolidation between 2022 and early 2025, where the price struggled under $3,000. That multi-year resistance zone has now flipped into strong support, suggesting the potential for Ethereum to sustain higher levels in the months ahead.

Ethereum Treasury SharpLink Adds $252 Million in ETH to Holdings

by admin August 26, 2025

In brief

  • SharpLink Gaming added around $250 million in Ethereum to its treasury last week.
  • The firm now holds nearly 800,000 ETH valued around $3.6 billion.
  • Myriad predictors are split as to whether or not the firm will reach its goal of 1 million ETH by mid-September.

Gambling marketer turned Ethereum treasury company SharpLink Gaming boosted its ETH holdings last week, adding around $252 million in Ethereum to its stash, the firm announced Tuesday.

SharpLink added 55,463 ETH at an average price of $4,462, the firm said. The additions bring its total haul to 797,704 ETH valued at $3.6 billion based on the current price of Ethereum.

“Our regimented execution of SharpLink’s ETH treasury strategy continues to demonstrate the strength of our vision and the commitment of our team,” said SharpLink co-CEO Joseph Shalom in a statement.

“With nearly 800,000 ETH now in reserve and strong liquidity available for further ETH acquisitions,” he added, “our focus on building long-term value for our stockholders while simultaneously supporting the broader Ethereum ecosystem remains unwavering.”

NEW: SharpLink acquired 56,533 ETH at ~$4,462. As of 8/26/2025 we hold 797,704 ETH valued at ~$3.7B

Key Highlights for the Week Ending August 24, 2025:

• $360.9M in net proceeds were raised through the ATM facility this past week.
• Total staking rewards rose to 1,799 ETH… pic.twitter.com/Kb4AKulf6f

— SharpLink (SBET) (@SharpLinkGaming) August 26, 2025

The Minneapolis-based firm raised around $360 million via its at-the-money facility last week to buy Ethereum and maintains around $200 million in cash to buy ETH, according to its statement.

SharpLink is among a handful of Ethereum treasury companies racing to gobble up the second largest crypto asset, now holding around 0.61% of the total ETH supply and only trailing Tom Lee’s BitMine Immersion Technologies among publicly traded firms. BitMine holds more than double the amount of ETH as SharpLink, with about $7.7 billion worth as present.

The firm has publicly stated a goal of acquiring 1 million ETH as its first major milestone, a goal which is around 79% completed as of Tuesday morning. In a Myriad market on Linea, 54% of respondents believe that SBET will reach this goal by September 16. Those odds have dropped 13% in the past 24 hours, despite the recent ETH purchases.

(Disclosure: Myriad is a prediction market and engagement platform developed by Dastan, parent company of an editorially independent Decrypt.)

Shares of SBET have jumped about 1% on Tuesday to change hands at $19.35. The firm’s stock has sunk more than 7% over the past month, despite Ethereum’s 19% gain for the same period.

ETH was trading at $4,520, down more than 2% over the past 24 hours, although it hit a record high above $4,900 over the weekend. The second-largest asset by market value has benefited from the rise of treasuries and exchange-traded funds focused on the asset.

Boyaa Interactive adds $33m in Bitcoin to anchor Web3 gaming push

by admin August 26, 2025

Boyaa Interactive expanded its Bitcoin holdings to 3,670 BTC with a $33 million purchase. The acquisition solidifies the company’s vast crypto reserves as it pivots from traditional online games to a pure-play Web3 entity.

Summary

  • Boyaa Interactive expanded its Bitcoin holdings by $33 million, bringing its treasury to 3,670 BTC at an average cost of $62,878.
  • The Hong Kong-listed gaming firm exceeded shareholder mandates, requiring a special disclosure for the purchase.

In a press release dated August 25, Boyaa Interactive International Limited announced it had acquired approximately 290 Bitcoin (BTC) over a three-week period, spending roughly $32.9 million in internal cash to do so.

The latest purchase, executed on regulated trading platforms, brings the Hong Kong-listed online gaming company’s total treasury to 3,670 BTC, acquired at an average cost of $62,878 per coin.

Notably, Boyaa Interactive said the latest acquisition required a special disclosure to exchanges, as it exceeded the company’s pre-approved shareholder mandates for such purchases.

The strategy behind Boyaa’s Bitcoin treasury

Boyaa, Intercative’s press release outlines a deliberate strategy where Bitcoin is the essential fuel for its ambitious engine of change. The company frames the original crypto not merely as an asset, but as the fundamental basis for Web3 business deployment, ecosystem construction, and a key driver for sustainable development.

“The purchase and holding of cryptocurrencies constitute an important foundation and measure in the Group’s implementation of its Web3 strategic transformation,” the statement read.

This vision is underscored by a sense of urgency in an increasingly competitive arena. Boyaa revealed a striking data point: at the start of 2024, it was a top-ten global public company in terms of bitcoin holdings, a group of roughly 60 firms.

Today, that landscape has dramatically shifted, with approximately 160 listed companies now holding crypto reserves, a surge that has pushed Boyaa’s ranking down to 22nd globally. This isn’t just a corporate trend; it’s a land grab for a finite resource.

The announcement explicitly states that with Bitcoin’s “limited total supply, the available resources are gradually diminishing while competitors are actively building up reserves.” Boyaa is stockpiling what it views as the critical strategic commodity for the next era of the internet before it becomes prohibitively scarce or expensive.

Boyaa’s Bitcoin treasury metric

This strategic accumulation is already translating into tangible metrics for shareholders. The company reports that its Bitcoin holding per 10,000 shares has grown by 12.0% in 2025 alone, now standing at approximately 0.0516 BTC.

This figure is crucial because it directly links the company’s treasury strategy to individual shareholder value, effectively giving each share a tiny, fractional claim on the corporate crypto reserve. It’s a modern twist on per-share book value, reflecting a new corporate priority for the digital age.

Strategy Adds $357 Million in Bitcoin After Resuming Common Stock Offerings to Fund BTC Buys

by admin August 25, 2025

In brief

  • Strategy purchased roughly 3,000 Bitcoin worth $357 million.
  • The company issued common stock to fund the purchase.
  • The move conflicted with a newly adopted equity issuance policy.

Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, purchased $357 million in Bitcoin last week, selling common stock to fund acquisitions for the first time in nearly a month, the company said in a press release.

The Tysons Corner, Virginia-based firm issued $310 million worth of Strategy shares to fund its latest purchase. The move represented a return to normal after the Bitcoin-buying firm made a series of adjustments to its corporate playbook.

Strategy signaled a week ago that it was modifying a newly adopted equity issuance policy, which restricted its ability to issue common shares when its stock traded at a certain valuation. Although the framework was intended to show “discipline,” Strategy gave itself some wiggle room by saying the framework would be set aside “when otherwise deemed advantageous.”

The company said it would no longer issue common stock when Strategy’s so-called mNAV was below 2.5x, or its shares traded at less than a 2.5x premium to its Bitcoin holdings. Analysts lauded the shift when it was announced less than a month ago alongside Strategy’s second-quarter earnings performance, marked by $10 billion in profit.

Strategy shares fell nearly 2.7% to $348 on Monday, according to Yahoo Finance. The stock has cooled significantly from a high of $457 last month, but shares are still up 20% year-to-date. The price of Bitcoin, meanwhile, fell to $112,580, down 1.6% over the past 24 hours, although BTC is up 20% year-to-date, according to crypto data provider CoinGecko.

When Strategy’s shares trade at a premium to its Bitcoin holdings, the company is able to grow the amount of Bitcoin it owns per share issuing common stock. This year, Strategy has introduced several types of preferred shares as a new source of funding.

Strategy’s most recent Bitcoin purchase, for example, was partly funded by its SRTK, STRF, and STRD offerings. Strategy most recently raised around $47 million by selling the preferred stocks, which carry various obligations and dividend payments.

Damped Spring Advisors CEO and CIO Andy Constan is among those that have compared Strategy to a Ponzi Scheme, arguing the firm will have to issue common stock to fund dividends that it’s obligated to routinely pay its preferred shareholders.

Decrypt reached out to Strategy for comment.

Under an at-the-money (ATM) offering program established in May, Strategy can issue another $16.7 billion in common stock to pad its stockpile. As of Monday, the Bitcoin-buying firm held roughly 632,500 Bitcoin worth $70.5 billion, according to Bitcoin Treasuries.

In some ways, Strategy’s about-face on equity issuance is advantageous, according to Steven Lubka, VP of investor relations at Bitcoin treasury firm Nakamoto. It makes the company’s next funding move all that much harder to see coming, he told Decrypt.

“It makes him harder to predict,” Lubka said, referring to Strategy co-founder and Executive Chairman Michael Saylor. “The end state of this is that now you really don’t know if he’s going to hit the ATM every week.”
