Star Trucker’s anniversary update adds wheel and joystick support to the space lorry sim, plus speed cameras

by admin September 5, 2025

Star Trucker, Raw Fury’s answer to what Euro Truck Simulator might look like in the year 3000, is now a year old, and has celebrated that fact with an update that finally lets you whip out your wheel and pedals.

Ever since I gave it a go with a controller prior to letting my Game Pass subscription crumble into dust, this is a day I’ve yearned for. After all, what good are truck sims, be they Euro, American or something more Snowrunnery, if you’re not operating the controls of your great metal haulage beast by flicking flappy gearbox paddles, or sawing away at a circle clearly designed for something a bit sportier?

That’s what this anniversary update for the interstellar hauler delivers, with wheels like the Thrustmaster T128 and flight sticks like VKB’s Gladiator NXT EVO being early additions to the devs’ handy tracking sheet of tested peripherals. There’s also a guide and FAQ rundown from Raw Fury to help folks get their hardware up, running, and fully bound to all the inputs space trucking requires.

Gear recognised by the game should set itself up with default bindings automatically, but I usually find creating my own basic set of essential buttons not that time-consuming, as long as the game wants to acknowledge your wheel exists. Just remember to bind a pause button, and stick the handbrake somewhere your finger can easily hold it when you want to see if your rig can finish a delivery with a 10/10 skid.

As a counterweight to all the wheel and pedal lorry mischief I planned the minute I clocked this update, it also comes with new speed checks. Yep, cameras, fines, the works. These camera checkpoints along the trails of the galaxy will even show you what speed you’re doing as you pass them, though the notes don’t mention if you get shown a little smiley face for not blasting through a Jupiter school zone at 120mph. You can also disable these checks via the settings, if the threat of having to attend a speeding course with the crowd from the Mos Eisley cantina is just too much.

Aside from that, there are a couple of updates to trailers, and a couple of optional truck goodies to commemorate the game’s first birthday. The latter includes a hologrammatic image of a cake you can display in your cab. Just remember to eat plenty before your next long haul.

If you’ve not given Star Trucker a go, our Nic dubbed it “a game that’s much more about the ‘trucker’ of it all than the stars, but the trucker of it all really does shine” in his review, writing:

When you exit the airlock to patch up hull breaches, little white spanner icons mark the offending damage. The symbol that marks the airlock to return to your truck is a home. I noticed it early, and then I kept noticing it. The more I did, the more perfect it felt.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to oversteer that home into an asteroid belt.

Marvel Rivals Season Four Adds Daredevil and Angela To The Roster, Launches Next Week

by admin September 3, 2025

Season four of Marvel Rivals is officially known as The Heart of the Dragon, and it’s introducing one character fans of the (super) hero shooter have been hoping for: Daredevil. In the cinematic reveal trailer, he faces off against Angela, the long lost sister of Thor and the other character joining the roster. You can check it out for yourself below.

The trailer shows the two characters seemingly acting as representatives of Heaven and Hell. This is a particularly interesting take on Daredevil, as his stories, especially in the recent live-action series, traditionally focus on street-level crime with minimal super powers. In this trailer, he also seems to unleash energized punches and a powerful devil form. It’s hard to tell what his canonical abilities are, versus what are stylized visuals for the animation, but Marvel Rivals sometimes provides original takes on characters and their origin stories, so it could go either way.

“The Timestream Entanglement has drawn the Seven Capitals together, forming the Heart of Heaven. After Knull’s fall, Hela is imprisoned in the An’Hay-Zhidi, where Dizang—Devil of the Eighth City—dares her to atone for her sins,” the video description reads. “But Angela will not forgive her betrayal. She arrives in the Heart of Heaven demanding Hela be handed over, yet its guardian refuses to surrender someone under his protection. Justice will be served and a debt will be paid.”

In a following, more detailed video, the developers at Netease confirm that Angela would be a vanguard, using her ichor to form weapons and a shield. She’ll also get a team-up with Thor, who will be able to throw a thunder spear which he can jump to, dealing damage upon landing. Other team ups are adjusting as well: Magik and Black Panther are losing theirs, but Magik is getting a tether ability as a part of the team up between Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange, while Black Panther is joining the team up between Namor and Hulk.

Season four will also bring other, more minor new features. A new arcade hub will hold new and returning modes like big brain blast, clone rumble, conquest, conquest (annihilation), and doom match, along with free fight, which removes limits on duplicate heroes. You’ll also be able to mark your preferred heroes into a favorites tab, other players can see custom ultimate effects, and, hilariously, they’re adding a slow walk setting to the PC version of the game because they “heard how much you like slow walking for superhero aura farming.”

Lastly, they announced that rank placement matches are coming to the game eventually, but won’t be ready in time for season four. Players have expressed frustration that each season resets them so far down the competitive ladder that it’s frustrating to have to fight through lower ranks with less skilled players to get back to their standard challenge, and placement matches are a possible solution to that.

Angela and the rest of Marvel Rivals season four come to the game for free a week from Friday, on September 12.

Ethereum Treasury SharpLink Adds $176 Million in ETH to Holdings

by admin September 2, 2025

In brief

  • SharpLink Gaming bought even more Ethereum last week, adding $176 million in ETH to its treasury.
  • The Nasdaq-listed firm pivoted its focus in May to accumulating ETH.
  • Ethereum hit a new all-time high price in August as a number of companies buy the asset.

Ethereum treasury SharpLink Gaming added over $176 million in ETH to its stash last week, the Nasdaq-listed company announced on Tuesday.

The Minneapolis, Minnesota-based firm’s holdings have grown to 837,230 ETH, now worth nearly $3.6 billion after it bought 39,008 ETH between August 25 and August 31, it said.

“We remain opportunistic in our capital raising initiatives and will continue to closely monitor market conditions to maximize shareholder value,” Joseph Chalom, co-CEO of SharpLink, said in a statement.

NEW: SharpLink acquired 39,008 ETH at an average price of ~$4,531, bringing total holdings to 837,230 ETH, valued at ~$3.6B.

Key highlights for the week ending Aug 31st, 2025:

→ Raised $46.6M through the ATM facility
→ Added 39,008 ETH at ~$4,531 avg. price
→ Staking… pic.twitter.com/dy7x1Ux0NY

— SharpLink (SBET) (@SharpLinkGaming) September 2, 2025

Publicly traded SharpLink (SBET) was trading more than 5% lower on Tuesday at $16.89. SharpLink’s stock has shot up more than 400% since mid-May, when it was trading for less than $3 per share.

The company in May first announced it would buy ETH via a $425 million private investment in public equity, or PIPE, offering led by blockchain technology firm Consensys and with participation from Galaxy Digital, ParaFi Capital, Ondo, and Pantera Capital. (Disclosure: Consensys is one of 22 investors in an editorially independent Decrypt.)

Once a relatively obscure gambling marketing company, SharpLink in May pivoted to become a crypto treasury, following the model of Strategy—formerly MicroStrategy—which shifted from software development to buying Bitcoin in 2020 after years of struggling and low share prices.

Instead of buying Bitcoin, SharpLink opted for the second-biggest digital coin by market cap, Ethereum.

Myriad traders were previously optimistic that SharpLink would acquire 1 million ETH in total by September 16, but they’ve swung bearish after today’s acquisition. Now, only about 30% of users believe that SharpLink will hit that target, down sharply from about 57% on Monday evening. (Disclosure: Myriad is a product of Decrypt’s parent company, DASTAN.)

A number of publicly-traded companies have adopted the same model, buying prominent cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, XRP, Solana, and BNB in an attempt to boost shareholder value.

ETH was recently trading for about $4,300 per coin, down about 1% over a 24-hour period, according to crypto data provider CoinGecko. ETH is down about 5% over the past week amid a wider slump in crypto markets, although it is up more than 23% during the past month.

Ethereum hit a new all-time high mark of $4,946 in August, breaking a 2021 record after remaining well below the previous mark while Bitcoin and other major coins surged to new highs in recent years.

Super Smash Bros mod adds Nintendo cease and desist letter as playable character

by admin September 1, 2025

After facing backlash over a paid Balatro-themed skin for Super Smash Bros. Melee, modder Mooshie turned a fake Nintendo cease and desist letter into a playable fighter.

On August 21, modder Mooshie released a new Super Smash Bros. Melee mod that added Jimbo from Balatro as a skin for Mr. Game & Watch. Sharing the project on Twitter, Mooshie promoted it with the caption: “I put Balatro into Melee! Get it at my newly created Patreon, linked below!”

However, because the mod was initially locked behind a paid Patreon tier, it quickly drew backlash from the community. On August 26, Mooshie issued a lengthy statement apologizing for the rollout and announcing a new approach: all future mods will be free to download, with paid Patreon supporters only receiving early access before public release.

They explained that the decision came after hearing feedback and consulting with other creators, calling the early-access model a “compromise” that ensures mods are playtested while still keeping them accessible to the broader community.

A new foe has appeared: Nintendo cease and desist

On August 31, Mooshie followed up with another project, this time giving Kirby a makeover by turning him into a parody Nintendo cease and desist letter.

While meant as a joke, this mod is available for free on Mooshie’s Patreon, with the showcase tweet reading: “I put my Cease & Desist Letter from Nintendo into Melee! See how much court fines you can stack up against your opponents with this new skin over [COPYRIGHTED CHARACTER]!

While the skin looks like an official takedown notice at first glance, a closer look reveals lines such as “low key that mod do be sick though” and “Your mod too tough. Your Game & Watch too different.” Mooshie has not confirmed receiving any real communication from Nintendo.

The trailer also promises “more real mods soon,” with a cameo from the protagonist of LISA that may hint at what Mooshie is planning next.

Whale Adds $430M Ethereum As Institutional Demand Drives Market

Whale Adds $435-M Ethereum As Institutional Demand Drives Market

by admin August 31, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Ethereum has been one of the strongest performers in the crypto market over the past two months, surging steadily to reach new all-time highs just days ago. Its rally has reinforced Ethereum’s role as the leading altcoin, attracting both institutional attention and retail speculation. However, the landscape is shifting as selling pressure begins to creep in. Some analysts warn that ETH could be at risk of further downside in the coming days, with volatility testing investors’ confidence after such an aggressive run higher.

Yet, while concerns grow, on-chain data reveals that whales continue to accumulate at scale. According to Arkham, a massive whale holding $5.97 billion in Bitcoin has now purchased $434.7 million worth of ETH. Just yesterday, this whale moved $1.1 billion to a new wallet (169q) and has been actively purchasing ETH through Hyperunit. In total, he has accumulated more than $3 billion in ETH, staking the majority of it, a move that signals strong conviction despite near-term uncertainty.

This tug of war between selling pressure and whale accumulation sets the stage for a critical moment in Ethereum’s trajectory. The coming days will reveal whether whales are strong enough to keep ETH supported or if further retracements await.

Whale Stakes Billions In Ethereum As Capital Rotation Grows

According to Arkham, one of the largest whales in the market has now purchased over $3 billion worth of Ethereum (ETH), staking the majority of it. This activity has drawn the attention of both analysts and investors, as it highlights a growing capital rotation trend away from Bitcoin and into Ethereum. The whale in question, who initially held $5.97 billion in BTC, has been gradually converting his position, deploying funds at scale through Hyperunit. His BTC address (169qYZJYkyW7HhmWTj58mVXRZDhMFHPZPd) and ETH address (0x616767179c5305a89f13348134C681061Cf0bA9e) are now being closely tracked by the market as investors speculate on his next move.

Ethereum Whale buying | Source: Arkham

After moving $1.1 billion in BTC to a fresh wallet, the whale has already purchased $434.7 million in ETH, adding to his massive accumulation and signaling continued confidence in Ethereum’s future. The majority of these holdings are being staked, which reduces liquid supply and underscores a long-term outlook rather than short-term speculation.

Now, the question remains: will he buy the next $650 million today? If so, the additional demand could provide strong support for Ethereum, even as short-term price action shows weakness. More importantly, this capital rotation trend is a clear sign that altcoins are preparing for their turn. As investors rotate from BTC to ETH and beyond, the groundwork for a broader altcoin cycle appears to be forming, setting the stage for heightened volatility and opportunity in the weeks ahead.

Testing Key Demand Level

Ethereum (ETH) is trading around $4,369, showing signs of consolidation after weeks of sharp rallies and subsequent retracements. The chart highlights how ETH has cooled from its recent all-time highs near $4,900, but remains firmly above critical moving averages that continue to guide its bullish structure.

ETH testing key MA | Source: ETHUSDT chart on TradingView

The 50-day moving average, currently near $4,372, is acting as immediate support and has been tested multiple times in recent sessions. Holding above this level is key to maintaining short-term momentum. Meanwhile, the 100-day average is around $3,962, and the 200-day average is at $3,257, reinforcing the long-term bullish trend, suggesting that even deeper pullbacks would likely be met with strong buying interest.

However, Ethereum’s inability to push back above $4,600 highlights waning momentum in the near term. Profit-taking and broader market uncertainty have slowed the pace of gains, leaving ETH vulnerable to further consolidation. A decisive break below $4,350 could open the door to $4,000 as the next major demand zone.

Ethereum remains in a healthy uptrend, but the market is clearly waiting for fresh catalysts. Whether it’s whale accumulation or broader institutional flows, ETH will need renewed buying pressure to retest its highs above $4,800.

Scott Pilgrim EX Adds Lucas Lee And Roxie Richter As Playable Characters

by admin August 30, 2025

Scott Pilgrim EX, the beat-em-up inspired by the popular graphic novel series, is getting two more playable characters. Roxie Richter and Lucas Lee, two of the series’ iconic Evil Exes, join Scott and Ramona Flowers in their fight against the vegans, robots, and demons that have taken over the city. You can see them in action in the gameplay trailer below:

As you’d expect, both playable exes use abilities seen in their past appearances. Lucas Lee uses a skateboard as a weapon and summons his crew of stunt doubles, while Roxie Richter wields a katana with ninja-like agility. Their announcement brings Scott Pilgrim EX’s playable roster up to four, but developer Tribute Games has previously announced the game would have seven total playable options, so there are still three fighters we don’t know about yet.

Scott Pilgrim EX was announced at Summer Game Fest 2025. While it’s not a direct sequel, it continues the legacy of 2010’s Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game, which was infamously de-listed from digital marketplaces in 2014, but was re-released in 2021. Scott Pilgrim EX features a soundtrack by Anamanaguchi (who composed for this game’s predecessor) and an original story written by Bryan Lee O’Malley, the series’ original creator. EX’s developer Tribute Games is also known for its work on TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge and the upcoming Marvel Cosmic Invasion.

Google adds iPhone-like ‘Calling Cards’ to its Phone app

by admin August 29, 2025

Google’s Phone app is adding “Calling Cards” that let you customize the appearance of contact screens for incoming calls. They’re similar to the Contact Poster feature that iPhone users have had since 2023, allowing Google Phone app users to replace the teeny contact photos that appear when someone is calling you with full-screen images and stylized names.

The update is part of Android’s Material 3 Expressive design language overhaul, which Google used to test a revamped Phone app interface in June. Calling Cards started appearing in beta versions of Google’s Contacts and Phone apps earlier this month, but now they’re getting a public release in version v188 of the Phone app. Google says Calling Cards will be available worldwide, and are being rolled out “in phases,” so they might take a while to appear for everyone.

When the feature becomes available, Phone app users will see a banner on the Home tab that reads “Introducing calling card: Customize how you see your contact when they call you.” Tapping on this takes users to the Calling Card page, but you can also navigate to it manually in Contacts. From there, Calling Cards can be created for each contact by selecting an image from the device’s camera, gallery, or Google Photos, and choosing a font and color option that will be used to display the contact’s name.

Unlike Contact Posters on iOS, you can’t design your own Calling Card that will appear for other contacts when you call them. Google’s Calling Cards only let you set customized screens that are specific to your device, so you’ll have to set these for every individual person if you want to use the feature. Those contacts can’t edit how their Calling card appears on your device, however, so you can have some fun with how you customize them.

This is rolling out alongside a new “Take a message” feature for the Phone app that automatically answers and transcribes voicemails when you miss a call. Users can record a custom greeting that callers hear when leaving a voicemail for Take a Message, or select from one of the available greeting presets. Transcripts and voicemail audio can be found in the Phone app Recents tab, and Google says that all messages are “stored privately on your device.” The feature is available on Pixel 4 phones or newer, and on Pixel Watch 2 models or newer when paired with Pixel 6 or more recent Google phone models.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 director adds another DLC teaser to the pile: ‘We may be cooking’

by admin August 28, 2025

I don’t blame any of the developers behind Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 for not immediately thinking about DLC plans just as their game exploded in popularity and hit sales numbers in the millions earlier this year. But in the last few months they’ve acknowledged the hunger for DLC in every way but a direct confirmation and at this point I’d just like to know if those plans are real.

In May, writer Jennifer Svedberg-Yen told a fan on Instagram that while there was “nothing concrete” in the works, the “chances are good” that we’d see DLC. But then a few days later she told the Washington Post that those comments were taken out of context and that the studio is focused on improving the base game.

A month later, the official Bluesky account reiterated those plans with a slight wink at possible “new content” coming down the line.

Related articles

That brings us to a comment from director Guillaume Broche this week in an interview with YouTuber MrMattyPlays. When asked about plans to release DLC, Broche said, “There may be,” and that it’s “a bit too early to say.”

“We may be cooking,” he added with a smile that is the closest thing to a “yes” I’ve heard yet.

Earlier in the interview, Broche, seemingly talking about a proper sequel, said Expedition 33 is just “one of the stories we want to tell in this franchise,” and that it’s too soon to announce what that will be.

While he did not confirm DLC is coming, it sure sounds like the studio is already thinking about what comes next for Clair Obscur, whether that’s just a sequel or some kind of expansion in the future. For a game that is being compared to Final Fantasy for its extremely satisfying turn-based combat and eccentric world, it would be a bummer for the journey to end here.

Broche recently said that he doesn’t plan on expanding the team at Sandfall Interactive, preferring to keep it small, so if DLC truly is in the works, it might be a while.

Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals, as picked by the PC Gamer team.

No Man’s Sky’s Voyagers Update Adds Custom Ship Building And More

by admin August 27, 2025

Every time Hello Games is readying an update for No Man’s Sky, studio founder Sean Murray tweets out cryptic emoji that send the community’s head spinning. For the Voyagers update, he posted a waving emoji, followed by a group of three waving emoji to hint at the major feature of the update: ships big enough to travel around in with your friends.

The Voyagers update brings Corvette-class ships to the galaxy. Where the one-seater ships we’ve piloted thus far are pretty limited in customization, you’ll build your Corvette “piece by piece” with full customization, meaning that your ship will be truly unique. You’ll be able to customize both the inside and outside, designing the ship through a ship-designer menu that doesn’t seem that different from Starfield’s version. The update even includes different interior styles and cockpits, so that you can make your ship feel like the Millennium Falcon, filled with readouts and switches, or go for something more streamlined like Star Trek. There are a bunch of working ship modules that will enhance the functionality and stats of your ship, too, so this isn’t purely cosmetic.

Once built, you can get out of your chair and walk around the inside. If you hop on with friends, you can travel the galaxy together, all in one ship.

There’s even a new spacewalking mechanic to let you step out the airlock of your Corvette, to float around in space or jump from your Corvette to your friend’s.

The update also adds graphical enhancements to glass, to player lighting, and more, along with DLSS 4 compatibility.

And of course, Hello Games also saw fit to add an Expedition to the game to speed up initial ship building.

No Man’s Sky Voyagers Update Patch Notes

Corvette-class Starships

  • Added a new class of starship, the Corvette. Corvettes are large, fully bespoke ships with furnished interiors, capable of accommodating multiple passengers.
  • A lightweight tutorial for assembling your first Corvette will activate upon first collecting a Corvette module or interacting with the Corvette Workshop.
  • A large catalogue of snappable structural and decorative modules is available for Corvette assembly, including habitation modules, hulls, wings, engines, windows, accessways, weapons, reactors, shield generators, connectors and decorative peripherals.
  • Corvette modules can be unearthed from salvage containers buried on worlds across the universe, as well as discovered in Derelict Freighters.
  • Modules can also sometimes be retrieved from defeated pirates, freighter cargo pods, crashed freighter crates, frigate expeditions, or received as rewards for completing missions.
  • Structural Corvette modules are collected individually in the inventory and spent directly when assembling a Corvette.
  • While standing within a Corvette, specialised furnishings and a selection of base decorations can be installed in the ship’s interior. Internal modules can be installed without limitation, but require resources to construct.
  • Habitation modules (“habs”) form the main living area for Corvette-class starships. Habs are available in three distinct classes: Titan, Thunderbird, and Ambassador, each with its own sci-fi aesthetic. Installed furnishings reflect the style of their hab, and multiple habs placed adjacently are automatically linked with doorways.
  • Multi-storey Corvettes can be assembled with the installation of internal stairways.
  • Several installable Corvette modules have practical functionality, such as the Living Wall, Nutrition Unit, Refiner Unit and Mission Radar.
  • A number of Corvette modules are linked to technology upgrades, automatically improving the Corvette’s stats alongside its appearance.
  • Corvette Workshop terminals can be found aboard the Space Station. These terminals provide an interface through which collected Corvette modules can be assembled into a pilotable, habitable starship.
  • The terminal also provides access to a shop for purchasing basic Corvette modules, and a barter interface for trading advanced Corvette modules.
  • The Corvette Workshop can store a draft Corvette, allowing work-in-progress edits to be saved and returned to at a later time.
  • A nearby cache will collect any overflow of refunded Corvette modules if there are too many to store in the player’s inventory.

  • Prevented Echo Locator hint notifications from appearing when a harmonic camp was already locally marked, or while within the perimeter of a camp.
  • Improved the system for displaying the estimated remaining time to a destination on HUD markers, resulting in much more accurate time estimates and tick-down speed.
  • The landing pad readout at the Space Anomaly now indicates where your ship is docked, and accurately reflects landing space availability.
  • Robotic creatures now lay metal eggs.

Rendering

  • Added support for NVIDIA DLSS4. Deep Learning Super Sampling is a revolutionary suite of neural rendering technologies that uses AI to boost FPS, reduce latency, and improve image quality.
  • Added support for PlayStation® Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), improving image clarity using AI-enhanced resolution, for ultra-high definition and incredible detail.
  • Added support for Intel Xe Super Sampling (XeSS) 2, which uses machine learning to deliver higher performance with exceptional image quality.
  • Implemented moment-based order-independent transparency (MBOIT), improving the appearance of translucent surfaces, especially when overlapping.
  • Added localised “hero lighting” for the player character, improving their appearance in darker environments.
  • Improved the rendering and lighting of 3D objects such as the player’s ship, Multi-Tool and jetpack on the inventory screen.
  • Improved the appearance of glowing distant objects.
