Hades 2’s new update adds in more weapon variations, boss challenges and, oh no, a really hot portrait for Narcissus

by admin June 18, 2025

Supergiant Games have released the latest big patch for Hades 2 today, The Unseen Update, bringing in a number of changes so big I won’t be able to tell you about them all here, but I’ll pick out a few good ones. First of all, and perhaps most importantly, Narcissus finally has character art and, oh no, he’s hot! I’m not going to embed any pictures of him here just in case you want to witness him in game for yourself, but here’s a little tweet for those that can’t wait. Very much a “why does he have to be obsessed with himself and be attractive enough for that to be understandable” kind of vibe.

Anyway, you can put the spray bottle down, I’ll tell you about some gameplay additions. All of the roguelike’s Nocturnal Arms now have their own Hidden Aspects for you to unlock, though you’ll have to find them yourself. Some new music has been added in too, including a “hot new single from a certain band…” Zero prize for guessing this is likely to be Scylla and the Sirens.

Several, optional new events have been added in for when you get close to a number of the game’s characters, and there’s even some new artwork for certain characters in the salt bath (and some “visual flourishes” have been added to the artwork in general). There’s a new Vow of Rivals feature that makes each Guardian (i.e. boss) “more challenging in unique ways; the first Rank affects the first Guardian of both the Underworld and Surface routes; prevail against both to reveal the next Rank, and so on.”

There’s also just a ridiculously long list of additions and tweaks to boons, Daedalus Hammer upgrades, Hexes, enemies, and more, so you’re probably going to want to read the full patch notes if you like to dig that deep.

In a blog post on their website, Supergiant Games also offered up some development progress. While they didn’t have a release date to share, after some follow-up patches to iron out some Unseen Update kinks, the big next steps will be adding in the game’s anticipated true ending. There’s also plans for achievements and other finishing touches, but the big thing here is that they are gearing up for the 1.0 release at the very least. For now, just uh, drool over Narcissus or something.

Minecraft’s New Update Lets Players Go Flying And Adds Vibrant Visuals

by admin June 17, 2025

Minecraft has been around since 2009, and it’s had a few upgrades in the subsequent years. But today, it’s getting another overhaul with Vibrant Visuals, the new cosmetic refresh for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition. Vibrant Visuals will eventually roll out for Minecraft: Java Edition in the future. In the meantime, the newest update, Chase the Skies, is going live today on all platforms.

Chase the Skies allows players to find a dried ghast in the Nether and revive it by placing it in water. When the ghast is restored, it can be nurtured and cared for until it becomes a happy ghast. At that point, players can ride their happy ghasts into the Overworld skies and go exploring, as seen in the trailer below.

As part of the Chase the Skies update, there’s a new Locator bar that can help players find their friends in multiplayer. Amos Roddy has also composed six new music tracks–Lilypad, Below and Above, O’s Piano, Broken Clocks, Fireflies, and a new version of Tears. These tracks will play in every Overworld biome, but the only way players can get Tears is if it’s “looted by a ghast after a non-conventional defeat.”

Players will also be given the ability to craft their own saddles, which means they never have to go searching for pre-made saddles again.

In other Minecraft news, the game recently unveiled its baseball-themed fan caves in partnership with Major League Baseball. A Minecraft Movie–one of this year’s biggest hits with just over $800 million worldwide–is slated to make its streaming debut on Max on June 20, followed by its HBO premiere on June 21.

Saylor’s Strategy Adds $1B in BTC as Bitcoin Price Holds Steady

by admin June 16, 2025

Strategy, the world’s largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, announced that it purchased another $1 billion worth of Bitcoin on Sunday, Sunday, June 15, 2025., amid the tensions in the Middle East, including an Israeli strike on Iranian nuclear sites.

Strategy buys more Bitcoin | Source: X

According to the founder, Micheal Salyor on X, Strategy bought 10,100 Bitcoin at an average price of $104,080 per coin, after Bitcoin dropped from $110,000 to a low of $103,639 during the same week. The software company now has a total Bitcoin stash of around 592,100 BTC. This is worth over $64 billion at the current rate.

This is Strategy’s second purchase this month. It has spent roughly $41.8 billion so far to build this holding, at an average of $70,666 per coin. Moreover, this new buy came just days after the company launched trading of its third Bitcoin-backed preferred stock, STRD, on the Nasdaq.

According to the announcement, Strategy funded the bulk of the purchase using proceeds from the STRD offering. The 10% Series A Perpetual Stride Preferred Stock was issued at $100 per share, raising around $979.7 million after costs.

The company also used funds from other share sales, including those from STRK and STRF preferred stock classes. The company used all of this money to buy more Bitcoin.

Strategy’s Bitcoin investment has gone up 19.1% this year. That’s up from 17.1% after its last buy on June 9. The company now hopes to reach a 25% gain by the end of the year. Back in May, Strategy raised this target from its original goal of 15%. For the current quarter, the investment is up 7.4%.

Meanwhile, Metaplanat, another Bitcoin Holding firm based in Japan announced just a few hours before Strategy that it also added 1,112 BTC worth $117.2 million to its holdings, This makes it a total of 10,000 BTC, which is the firm’s target for the year.

Saylor took to X to congratulate Metaplanet for the achievement. “Congratulations to @Gerovich , @DylanLeClair_ , and the entire $MTPLF team and shareholder community” he wrote.

As of the time of writing this report, Bitcoin is holding steady at around $107,700. This is a 2% increase over the last 24 hours, and it is gradually recovering since it hit its all-time high of $111,000 on May 22.

SEC Adds Dogecoin, Hedera ETFs to Growing List of Delayed Decisions

by admin June 15, 2025

In brief

  • The SEC extended review periods for multiple crypto ETF proposals, including Bitwise’s Dogecoin ETF, Grayscale’s Hedera Trust, and Canary Capital’s HBAR ETF.
  • Four Solana ETF filings and Grayscale’s Cardano ETF also face delayed decisions, with new deadlines set in July.
  • The regulator said it seeks further public comments and has not made any final determinations on the filings.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has extended the review periods for multiple crypto ETF applications, including those involving Dogecoin and HBAR, on Wednesday and Thursday.

The SEC instituted formal proceedings on June 11 for the Bitwise Dogecoin ETF and on June 12 for the Grayscale Hedera Trust, extending deadlines while requesting additional public comments. A similar document on Canary Capital’s HBAR ETF was published on June 10.

Four separate Solana ETF proposals from Bitwise, 21Shares, VanEck, and Canary Capital have been postponed to early July 2025. The Grayscale Cardano ETF received a July 15 extension, while Bitwise’s Ethereum staking ETF faces a July 6 deadline.

About 72 crypto-related ETFs are “sitting with the SEC awaiting approval to list or list options,” according to Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas, following a roundup from earlier in April.

Pushing back the dates for the proceedings is “appropriate at this time in view of the legal and policy issues raised” from the proposed changes, the SEC’s latest filing on Grayscale’s proposal reads.

It’s worth noting that the SEC clarified in writing that the delays do not “indicate that the Commission has reached any conclusions with respect to any of the issues involved.”

Instead, it means that the regulator “seeks and encourages interested persons to provide comments on the proposed rule change.”

When exchanges want to list new ETF products, they must file “proposed rule changes” with the SEC to modify their own listing standards to accommodate the new products.

The “legal and policy issues” the SEC mentions relate to whether these crypto-based ETFs meet the standards to “prevent fraudulent and manipulative acts and practices” and “protect investors and the public interest” as required by Section 6(b)(5) of the Securities Exchange Act.

The SEC then reviews whether these exchange rule modifications comply with federal securities laws.

For the Bitwise Dogecoin ETF, NYSE Arca filed to list and trade the ETF under NYSE Arca Rule 8.201-E (Commodity-Based Trust Shares), with shares designed to track the performance of a specific commodity or derivative, as the exchange maintains fair and transparent trading.

For Grayscale’s proposed Hedera ETF, Nasdaq filed to list the ETF under Nasdaq Rule 5711(d), which shares similar aspects to the NYSE rules, setting a framework for how these trust shares are structured, traded, and monitored.

Canary’s HBAR ETF proposal is also being reviewed under this rule.

This massive mod for Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord not only converts it to Sengoku-era Japan, it adds fully simulated naval battles months ahead of the base game

by admin June 14, 2025

Shokuho is hardly the first mod to adapt TaleWorlds’ Mount & Blade series to a new era of history. Mount & Blade: Warband’s startling array of total conversions practically let you command armies anywhere and, indeed, anywhen in the world. Yet not only is Shokuho a total conversion for the slightly less well-served Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord, but it is also one of the most comprehensive, transposing TaleWorlds’ historical RPG to feudal Japan in impressive depth and detail.

Shokuho’s samurai action begins in 1568, the year Oda Nobunaga marched on Kyoto and sparked two centuries of civil war and political intrigue. As in vanilla Bannerlord, the mod lets you carve a path through the period in all manner of ways, such as building up your own army, or joining the forces of a local lord to rise up the ranks.

Yet while Shokuho is built upon Bannerlord’s foundations, this is no simple reskin. Shokuho boasts a completely new map that, according to the creators, is “five times as big as vanilla [Bannerlord], with 56 towns and 181 castles,” all of which are based on settlements, clans, and kingdoms from the era.

Moreover, as well as bundling in the popular Diplomacy Mod, which adds systems like alliances and war exhaustion, it also features several mod-specific mechanics. These include tiered castle sieges where you must fight through multiple checkpoints, and fully simulated naval battles that let you control your own ships, destroy enemy vessels with archers and gunfire, or board them with your own troops. Amusingly, Shokuho has pipped Bannerlord to the post here. TaleWorlds is working on its own naval expansion to the base game, but it won’t arrive for some time yet.

Also, considering Mount & Blade has never been a visual powerhouse, Shokuho has a remarkable sense of style. The release-date trailer published a couple of weeks back shows battles taking place across windswept grassy plains and misty forests, snow-dusted sieges of mountain fortresses, and a samurai duel beneath the golden canopy of an autumnal Japanese maple. Developer Dockside Interactive has clearly taken a leaf out of Ghost of Tsushima’s artbook, and it’s paid off.

Shokuho is available to download over on ModDB. As for Bannerlord itself, TaleWorlds’ War Sails expansion was originally scheduled to launch next week, but it has since been delayed to autumn as the developers get it ship-shape.

Two Point Museum’s latest update adds memorial exhibits for staff who vanish on expeditions, which you can put on display or sell for cold, hard profit

by admin June 14, 2025

It may not have caught the same attention as Clair Obscur or Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, but Two Point Museum is quietly one of the best games released this year. Two Point Studio’s latest management sim is comfortably its best yet, and a game that nudges the genre forward in small but meaningful ways. A big part of that is down to its expedition system, where you dispatch different brands of boffins on adventures to retrieve ancient, exotic artifacts for display.

This feature also happens to be at the heart of Two Point Museum’s summer update, which targets the adventurers who fail to return from your relic hunting missions. Now, when one of your experts goes missing, you’ll be granted a memorial exhibit that you can place inside your museum to commemorate the loss.

While hardly the sunniest new feature Two Point Studios could have added given the season, it is neat. Memorials vary depending on the MIA staff’s rank, role and gender, ranging from simple plaques for low-ranking staff, to glittering statues for your most intrepid explorers. You can display these like any other exhibit, but if you don’t want to recognise the deeds of your MIA experts, you can also just sell them so you can expand your gift shop filled with tat.

Related articles

In any case, it’s a clever way of ensuring you never come away from an expedition empty-handed. Memorials aside, the update also overhauls the underlying expedition system, aiming to reduce randomisation so players don’t have to repeat the same expedition ad nauseum to retrieve every available artifact. Two Point Studios says it’s using a “phased approach” to adding this feature in, starting with eight specific expedition locations on the map.

Elsewhere, the update adds 30 new posters to decorate your cafeterias and gift shops with, while also making several tweaks to the security simulation. Thieves who manage to nab one of your exhibits will now lug it around in a backpack, making it easier to tell the difference between infiltrating and exfiltrating robbers. In addition, burglars who have been revealed but haven’t nicked anything yet will play “more suspicious animations”.

All of this comes with the usual array of balance tweaks and bug fixes. You can now expect your robot staff to get their perks installed properly, while subtitles for the in-game radio show should now pause with the rest of the game. My favourite fix simply reads “added improvements to the Ransom Message”. Nothing like adding an air of mystery to your changelog.

If you’ve yet to check out Two Point Museum among 2025’s deluge of games, I thoroughly recommend that you do. Mollie was similarly enchanted by it in her Two Point Museum review, calling it ” one of the neatest, most approachable management sims in recent memory”.

Reddit adds analytics and drafts for comments

by admin June 13, 2025

Reddit is making it easier to gauge the impact your comments are having. The company is introducing detailed analytics for comments that measure views and other engagement metrics. Reddit shared the change as part of a larger batch of updates around how it handles comments on its platform.

Comment insights will provide details around upvotes (including the ratio of upvotes to downvotes), replies, views, shares and awards. Additionally, Redditors will now be able to share comments as a standalone post on Reddit.

Reddit

The platform is also adding a drafts feature for comments that will allow people to save up to 20 drafts for 14 days. Drafts will automatically save, according to Reddit, so that you can revisit your thoughts if you navigate away from the page or leave the app mid-comment. In an update to moderators, Reddit said that drafts is “still in its early iteration” and that it may tweak how the feature works in future versions.

The changes are the latest way Reddit has added more flexibility around comments in recent weeks. Earlier this month, the company said it would allow users to hide their commenting history from their profiles.

XRP Ledger Adds BlackRock-Backed Treasuries In Ripple Deal

by admin June 12, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

The XRP Ledger (XRPL) moved from theory to production-grade finance today as Ondo Finance switched on its tokenized US Treasury fund, Ondo Short-Term US Government Treasuries (OUSG), directly on the network. The launch lets Qualified Purchasers mint or redeem OUSG around the clock by settling with Ripple’s enterprise-grade stablecoin RLUSD, effectively marrying BlackRock-custodied Treasury bills to a 24/7 public chain and its native decentralized exchange.

OUSG is no boutique proof-of-concept. The fund already commands more than $670 million in total value locked and sits alongside BlackRock’s own BUIDL and Franklin Templeton’s FOBXX at the top of the rapidly expanding tokenized-Treasury league table. Ondo’s broader real-world-asset (RWA) platform manages roughly $1.3 billion, but this is its first deployment on a non-EVM chain—an endorsement of XRPL’s purpose-built tokenization rails.

How It Works On XRP Ledger

Institutional investors create or redeem OUSG in a single transaction by delivering or receiving RLUSD, Ripple’s dollar-pegged stablecoin that settles natively on XRPL. Because RLUSD itself moves in finality within three to five seconds, OUSG subscriptions bypass legacy cutoff times and traditional bank wires. Ripple and Ondo have committed liquidity to market-make both legs—RLUSD ↔ USD off-chain and RLUSD ↔ OUSG on-chain—so investors can scale in or out without slipping on spreads.

The entire flow remains permissioned at the edges and permissionless in the core. Qualified Purchasers authenticate through Ondo’s compliance portal (leveraging Decentralized Identifiers and verifiable credentials), receive an allow-list flag on-chain, and then interact with the built-in DEX like any other asset pair. Settlement remains atomic: OUSG units burn or mint the moment RLUSD transfers, eliminating the daylight-risk gap that plagues traditional T-plus settlement cycles.

XRPL’s deterministic order book, low fees, and native token-issuance primitives spare issuers the need to bolt on smart-contract wrappers for basic custody logic. Forthcoming Multi-Purpose Tokens (MPTs) will allow OUSG to embed cash-flow rights and compliance fences at the protocol level, while the planned lending protocol will let desks rehypothecate OUSG as repo collateral without bridging to another chain. Permissioned Domains will give asset managers namespace-level control over who trades within walled gardens—a prerequisite for regulated liquidity pools.

For treasury teams juggling intraday cash buffers, tokenized bills on XRPL unlock immediate redeployment of idle dollars. A fund manager who redeems OUSG at 21:00 ET on a Friday receives RLUSD within seconds and can cycle into overnight reverse-repo, stablecoin liquidity farming, or FX settlement in Asia before traditional markets even open. Conversely, corporates that sweep surplus RLUSD into OUSG every evening now capture US Treasury yield without operational drag.

Markus Infanger, SVP of RippleX, framed the launch as a watershed: “Ondo’s OUSG going live on the XRPL demonstrates that tokenized finance is no longer theoretical—it’s maturing in real markets. Institutions can now access high-quality assets like US Treasuries on public blockchains, with the compliance and efficiency they need. This represents progress in bringing trusted financial assets into a 24/7 market—enabling greater liquidity, operational efficiency, and faster access to capital.”

What Comes Next

Ripple and Boston Consulting Group’s joint report projects that tokenization will convert $19 trillion of real-world assets into programmable instruments by 2033. Treasuries have emerged as the beachhead: they are low-risk, deeply liquid, and already digitized in the Federal Reserve’s master ledger, making them ideal for the first wave of on-chain replication. Total tokenized-Treasury value has surged past $7 billion this year, more than doubling since January, and is on track to eclipse the entire stablecoin float of 2017 by year-end.

OUSG’s migration to XRPL could accelerate that trend. BlackRock’s BUIDL fund—the underlying asset pool into which OUSG deposits—distributes interest daily and permits same-day stablecoin redemptions, giving on-chain holders a money-market-fund experience without bank-hour limitations. By anchoring that mechanism in XRPL’s always-on settlement layer, Ripple and Ondo have effectively created a composable Treasury bill that “plugs and plays” with any XRPL-native application.

The immediate roadmap is functional rather than speculative: open a secondary RLUSD-OUSG order book on XRPL’s DEX, integrate OUSG as collateral in XRPL-based lending markets once live, and extend mint-and-burn access to additional Qualified Purchaser jurisdictions as regulators sign off on the identity stack. Longer term, Ripple plans to use RLUSD as the hub currency for other RWAs—starting with commercial paper and municipal notes—turning XRPL into a full-spectrum capital-markets substrate.

At press time, XRP traded at $2.32.

Fortnite adds new NPCs with AI voices but they’re not like Darth Vader

by admin June 11, 2025

Fortnite has introduced two new AI-controlled NPCs that can interact with players in the game’s LEGO mode, Brick Life, but they’re very different compared to the controversial Darth Vader.

Epic Games surprised the entire community when they first introduced AI-powered Darth Vader in the previous Star Wars season. This wasn’t just a typical, run-of-the-mill NPC that like all those that have previously appeared in the game, as this version of the character could actually talk to the player.

Article continues after ad

AI Vader could do all sorts of things, like giving advice and answering all kinds of questions, leading to a lot of amusing situation. Thus, within a short time, he quickly became a fan favorite.

Of course, that was before some started to make him utter swear words or say horrible things. Despite the AI situation eventually sparking a union lawsuit, however, devs have now added more AI NPCs in-game with a catch.

Fortnite adds two new AI NPCs in LEGO Brick Life

In the latest update, two new AI NPCs, namely Noir and Slurp Leviathan, were added to LEGO Brick Life.

Article continues after ad

epic games / dexertoYou can choose to mute the AI NPC if you’d like in Fortnite’s LEGO Brick Life.

Although they essentially use the same AI technology as Darth Vader in Battle Royale, one thing that sets them apart from the Star Wars villain is that they communicate differently. With Darth Vader, players could use their microphones to speak directly to him and get a reaction.

However, Noir and Slurp Leviathan will only react to you when you do certain actions, such as using emotes or even giving them a gift. In my own experience, I can confirm they even addressed me as Superman when I used his skin.

Looking at how these new AI NPCs work in Brick Life, it’s clear that Epic has lessened the risk of them saying some wild things due to players triggering them by talking in a certain way or asking inappropriate questions.

Still, one person claimed they had managed to catch one of them swearing, as seen in a clip, but Epic denied this by writing: “Noir was just really excited about you choosing to go with the feelin’ royal emote he didn’t enunciate the ‘n’ in ‘royal flush of funk’ properly.”

These AI NPCs will only be around in Brick Life until June 12, 2025, and if you’d like to find them, you’ll need to head to the south of Cozy Paws Cafe for Slurp Leviathan and Mourndale Academy for Noir.

OpenAI adds the o3-pro model to ChatGPT today

by admin June 10, 2025

OpenAI is keeping up its rapid-fire pace of new AI releases. The company introduced the o3 and o4-mini models to its ChatGPT platform in April. At the time, the business promised that a pro model of the o3 was on the way, and that version became available today.

Both the o3 and o4-mini models are meant to use and combine all the tools under ChatGPT’s umbrella. When OpenAI adds the “pro” designation to a model, it’s a version that has been built to spend longer answering queries to provide better and more accurate responses. “We recommend using it for challenging questions where reliability matters more than speed, and waiting a few minutes is worth the tradeoff,” the company said in the release notes for the o3-pro. In the testing assessments shared, the o3-pro delivered better benchmarks than the o3 and the o1-pro options.

There are some restrictions on the other ChatGPT services the o3-pro can use. Image generation and Canvas are not supported, so users will need to turn to different models for those features. The o3-pro is available today for ChatGPT Pro and Team users, while Enterprise and Edu customers will have access to this option next week.
