Gemini image generation is adding more editing tools

by admin August 26, 2025

Google’s Gemini is getting new features for editing images with AI. The latest image editing model is the work of the DeepMind artificial intelligence team, and these updates will be available starting today in the Gemini app. Google noted that all images either generated or edited in Gemini will be visibly and digitally watermarked to designate them as created with artificial intelligence.

The first aspect of the new editing model offers consistency across different versions of an image. It’s particularly focused on keeping human characters looking the same as more changes are made the the surrounding visuals, with the idea that people could upload a picture of someone and still look true to reality as they put themselves in different settings or outfits with AI.

The second part of the model involves advanced image editing options. These features include the ability to combine two separate pre-existing images into a new scene, using a visual trait from an existing image as a new prompt or new design element, and multi-stage editing where individual components of an image can be changed in a sequence without losing the accumulated updates.

Image generation of humans was unavailable for a few months last year after Gemini created inaccurately diverse results for prompts based on particular places and times in history. Users regained the ability to AI-generate images of people with the Imagen 3 model.

Google AI Mode is expanding to 180 countries and adding an agentic restaurant finder

by admin August 21, 2025

Google’s seemingly unrelenting quest to infuse AI into every aspect of your online life just got a lot more global in scope, with the company expanding its AI Mode in Search to over 180 new countries. AI Mode has previously only been available in the US, India and the UK, and while English remains the only supported language right now, Google says it’ll add more soon.

Google is also expanding its AI Mode’s agentic capabilities, so you can now use natural language to find restaurant reservations. Google says you can ask about getting a dinner reservation with conditions such as group size, date, location and your preference of cuisine, all of which be taken into consideration when AI Mode pulls in its results from across the web. Suggestions will be presented in list form with the available reservation slots. It’ll also provide a link to the booking page you need. Google also plans to add local service appointments and event ticketing capabilities soon, with Ticketmaster and StubHub among its partners.

AI Mode leverages Google’s web-browsing AI agent Project Mariner’ its direct partners on Search and resources like Knowledge Graph and Google Maps when prompted to find you somewhere to eat. It has partnered with the likes of OpenTable, Resy and Tock to incorporate as many restaurants as possible and streamline the booking process. Right now, this feature is exclusive to those subscribed to the wildly expensive Google AI Ultra plan in the US, and can be accessed through its Labs platform. If you opt into the AI Mode experiment it can also remember your previous conversations and searches to give you results that more closely match your preferences.

Finally, if your AI-powered conversations are simply too interesting to keep to yourself, Google will now let you bring others in when you tap the “Share” button on a response. This allows your chosen contact to join the conversation at that point and ask their own follow-up questions. Google uses planning trips or parties as examples of when you might want to collaborate with someone else on an AI-assisted task. The original sender can delete shared links whenever they like.

Ethereum (ETH) Bull Market Over? Shiba Inu (SHIB) Risks Adding Zero Rocket, XRP’s Last Level Before $2

by admin August 19, 2025

  • Shiba Inu at risk
  • XRP checks in

Ethereum has most likely entered a corrective phase, which could be the beginning of the end of the bull market. Ethereum has been gradually declining after reaching a peak of about $4,800, and the price action is displaying the first discernible signs of weakness since July.

Given that trading volume has decreased in comparison to earlier in the rally, the decline suggests that market momentum may be waning. Ethereum corrections following sharp rallies have historically tested important moving averages, and the 26-day EMA is currently the first crucial level to keep an eye on. A clean rebound prior to testing this zone would be a more convincing sign that buyers are still in control, but a drop toward this line would indicate a continuation of short-term selling pressure.

ETH/USDT Chart by TradingView

The larger bullish structure would hold up if ETH could bounce back above recent highs, rather than tagging the 26 EMA, indicating that this move is merely a brief cooling off. With the next layers of support located close to the 50 EMA and psychological round levels around $4,000, additional downside may become possible if the 26 EMA breaks decisively.

The more general question is whether the upward momentum of the cycle will end with this correction. Since long-term moving averages are still sloping upward, and Ethereum is currently trading comfortably above key support lines, it appears that the bull market is still going strong. But as Ethereum continues to decline, traders may grow increasingly wary, particularly as the market closes out derivative positions.

Shiba Inu at risk

Shiba Inu is once again close to adding a zero to its price. Following weeks of consolidation within an ascending triangle pattern, SHIB is currently close to losing the lower range, which could lead to more severe declines.

The failure of SHIB to produce significant upward momentum is seen clearly on the daily chart. The token is continuing to retest the support line, rather than breaking higher, which indicates a weakening setup, even though the ascending triangle formation typically leans bullish. With today’s rejection, the likelihood of a breakdown is gradually increasing, and each bounce has been weaker than the one before.

Due to the absence of strong support zones until much lower levels, the move may accelerate rapidly, if SHIB breaks below the triangle’s support. SHIB would most likely be forced to add another zero to its price as a result of such a decline, returning it to valuations not seen since the early summer.

Lower trading volumes and the absence of whale-driven support both increase the descending momentum and lessen the likelihood of a recovery. The risk is increased by the fact that SHIB’s performance is still trailing, leading cryptocurrencies like Ethereum and Bitcoin, which have at least maintained stronger trends.

XRP checks in

XRP is not feeling that well, as the asset is close to entering a critical state. The token is currently declining and in danger of breaking below its 50-day exponential moving average (EMA) after failing to maintain momentum above $3. Although this level has historically been used as a temporary buffer, the current situation indicates that it might not last for very long.

As XRP records a string of red candles, the market’s inability to maintain bullish sentiment is putting pressure on the 50 EMA. The next strong support is located much deeper in the $2.70-$2.75 range, and the $2.40 region, which is anchored by the 200 EMA if this level fails. A breakdown of this kind would wipe out most of XRP’s recent gains and expose the token to a possible retest nearer $2.00, a psychological level that will decide whether the larger bullish cycle holds up.

You Might Also Like

Curiously, volume data presents a somewhat different picture, even though price action appears fragile. Indicating that bears are not fully committing to the sell-off, trading volumes have been continuously dropping during the downward move. This lack of conviction allows for a potential rebound, but XRP runs the risk of crashing lower toward significant support levels in the absence of an abrupt spike in demand.

XRP needs to regain the $3.00 mark with significant buying pressure if bulls wish to regain control. If this is not done, there may be a chance for a more severe correction, with $2.00 acting as the final key level before sentiment turns sharply against the asset.

Why the skibidi are you adding skibidi to the Cambridge Dictionary? We think it has “staying power”, answer word boffins

by admin August 18, 2025

Skibidi. Dop, dop, dop. Yes, yes. Skibidi. Double u. Neem, neem. This is the clarion call of the modern age, the infernal message brought unto our virgin ears by the Skibidi Toilets. No, wait, keep reading! It’ll be worth it. Probably. After all, the word skibidi has now been added to the Cambridge Dictionary, and this is a reality we’ve all got to reckon with.

Skibidi Toilet, in case you’ve been living somewhere free from the influence of vertically-framed surrealism, is a long-running series of 3D animations by YouTuber Alexey ‘DaFuq!?Boom!’ Gerasimov. It generally conveys the tale of a great war between a legion of heads protruding from loos and an army of folks with cameras for heads, with help from Half-Life 2 assets and inspiration from the annals of Garry’s Mod machinima. Any 12 year olds you know probably can’t get enough of it. Or think it’s lame because they’ve already moved on to the next thing.

Anyway, as if Michael Bay spearheading efforts to make a Skibidi Toilet movie wasn’t enough reason for you to be aware of this lavatory entertainment, the folks behind the Cambridge Dictionary are adding it to their great tome of words this year. I should stress here that it’s one of thousands of words being added to the annals. The others include the likes of tradwife, delulu, broligarchy, and mouse jiggler.

“It’s not every day you get to see words like ‘skibidi’ and ‘delulu’ make their way into the Cambridge Dictionary. We only add words where we think they’ll have staying power,” said the tradebook of terminology’s lexical programme manager, Colin McIntosh.

So, the bookish boffins clearly think the skibidi era’s more than a passing fad. I for one look forward to historians in centuries’ time blowing the dust off of tomes so they can scan through firsthand accounts of the skibidi era. Weathered folks in fields gasping in awe as their trowels unearth plastic designed to resemble part of G-Toilet’s unholy ceramic bowl. I mean, to be fair, they’re also definitely going to discover people posed like this with the likes of Stellar Blade burned into their screens. We can only pray that we’re not brought back as Futurama-style heads-in-jars to explain any of this.

At the very least, this cultural event that’s just about linked to video games has at least finally taught me what skibidi means. “A word that can have different meanings such as ‘cool’ or ‘bad’, or can be used with no real meaning as a joke”, is how the Cambridge Dictionary defines the term. The example sentence given is “What the skibidi are you doing?”.

Hang on a minute, maybe this is the sort of versatile expression Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick could use to convey the sorts of games his company are striving to make! If good is bad and great is the new great, then maybe GTA 6 can only be accurately described as skibidi.

I’m preparing to petition my co-workers to add this important term to the RPS style guide, along with an instruction that it must be used in every article that doesn’t cover uber-serious news, on pain of death. Wish me luck in climbing out of the skip Edwin, James, and Nic will rightly lob me into.
