US Bitcoin ETFs Post $900M Net Outflows In Past Week – Details

The US spot Bitcoin ETFs (exchange-traded funds) endured some of the most difficult days in recent months over the past week. With the market sentiment flipping and the BTC price stalling, several US investors cashed out on their positions in the world’s largest cryptocurrency by market cap.

After posting strong performances over the past few weeks, the tides appear to be shifting for the Bitcoin exchange-traded fund market, with investor appetite in the United States seemingly waning. This latest round of withdrawals ended an inflow streak of four consecutive weeks for the spot Bitcoin ETFs.

Bitcoin ETFs Register $418 Million Net Inflows

According to the latest market data, the US Bitcoin ETFs registered a daily total net inflow of $418.25 million on Friday, September 26. This performance continued the terrible run of form for the crypto-linked investment products, which recorded only a positive inflow day in the past week.

Breaking things down, Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (with the ticker FBTC) posted the most significant daily net outflows, losing more than $300 million on the day. BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust came in second, with a total daily withdrawal of $37.25 million to close the week.

Bitwise Bitcoin ETF (BITB) recorded a daily total net outflow of $23.79 million on Friday, while Ark & 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB) lost $17.81 million in value on the day. Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust (BTC) and Bitcoin Trust were the only other Bitcoin ETFs with double-digit outflows ($17.14 million and $12.57 million, respectively) on the day.

VanEck Bitcoin ETF (HODL) was the only exchange-traded fund to record any activity on Friday, with a daily net outflow of $9.28 million. This negative $418.25 million performance amounted to a cumulative $902.5 million net outflow in the past week.

This negative weekly performance marked the end of a streak of four consecutive weeks of positive inflows. In the previous two weeks, the US spot Bitcoin ETFs registered more than $3 billion in capital inflows, as the macroeconomic conditions shifted in favor of risk assets.

Bitcoin Price Overview

However, the crypto market seems to have cooled off, as seen with the price of Bitcoin over the past week. The premier cryptocurrency lost over 5% in its value, falling from around $116,000 to beneath the $110,000 level in the last seven days.

With the Bitcoin price struggling at the moment, it is no shock that the Bitcoin ETFs have seen massive withdrawals in the past week. As of this writing, the price of BTC stands at around $109,690, reflecting no significant movement in the past 24 hours.

Investors Shift $900M Daily from Bitcoin to Ethereum: Analyst

by admin August 27, 2025

Analyst Willy Woo, a renowned crypto on-chain analyst, said investors are shifting funds from Bitcoin (BTC) to Ethereum (ETH). On Wednesday, he posted a chart showing flows into Ether around $900 million per day, matching inflows into Bitcoin.

“This latest climb in flows started when Tom Lee’s ETH treasury company, BitMine, began accumulating Ether,” Woo said in a post on X. The surge began in July, marking the highest flows in at least two years. Analysts say corporate Ether treasuries are driving the momentum.

Capital has been rotating from BTC→ETH.

Flows into ETH, at 0.9B USD per day (silver), is now approaching BTC’s inflows (orange).

Corporate Demand Boosts ETH

BitMine has become the world’s largest corporate Ether treasury. It acquired 1.7 million ETH, worth $7.9 billion, in just over two months, and now holds 1.4% of Ethereum’s total supply. The accumulation pace far exceeds that of corporate Bitcoin holdings.

U.S. spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds have also seen strong inflows. August alone recorded $2.8 billion entering spot ETH funds. Corporate trading in Ether also recently exceeded Bitcoin treasury trading, showing rising institutional interest.

Analyst Axel Bitblaze noted on X that ETH has broken a four-year bullish chart pattern and is retesting it cleanly. “The structure points to $6800 – $7000 next,” he said, indicating further upside potential.

ETH Market Share Rising

Ethereum’s market dominance has grown at Bitcoin’s expense. ETH’s market share is now 14.57%, up from a low of 7% in April. Meanwhile, Bitcoin dominance has fallen from 66% in June to 58% as capital rotates between the two assets.

Ether has recovered faster than Bitcoin this week. ETH rose 4% on Wednesday, reaching an intraday high of $4,638 before a slight pullback. It is now just 6.7% below its all-time high from last week. Bitcoin, in comparison, gained only 1% over the same period, topping $112,000 before retreating toward $111,000.

The capital rotation into Ethereum shows increasing investor confidence and stronger institutional involvement. Analysts say the trend may continue as corporate and ETF demand supports ETH prices and market share.

Crypto liquidations surpass $900m following Fed Chair's Jackson Hole speech

Crypto liquidations surpass $900m following Fed Chair’s Jackson Hole speech

by admin August 26, 2025

Crypto liquidations have hit $940 million as Bitcoin slips briefly below $109,000. This mass liquidation comes only a few days after the market saw gains following the Fed Chair’s Jackson Hole speech.

Summary

  • Crypto liquidations cross over $940 million after BTC briefly dips below $110,000.
  • The overall crypto market lost $200 billion despite seeing major gains from the Fed Chair’s speech about possibly cutting interest rates.

According to data from CoinGlass, the majority of crypto liquidations were long positions; which made up $826.51 million of the total $941 million of liquidations.

As Bitcoin (BTC) briefly dipped below the $110,000 threshold, Bitcoin positions made up the second largest portion of liquidations on the board. Based on the 24-hour heatmap, Bitcoin liquidations have hit $277.21 million or nearly 30% of the total crypto liquidations.

This wave of liquidations comes only a few days after a late-week dovish signal from Fed Chair Jerome Powell, which triggered gains of $594 million for the crypto market. However, the hype was apparently short-lived as BTC has fallen off its $110,000.

On August 22, at the Jackson Hole, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell hinted at possible interest rate cuts ahead as he stated that there was currently a high level of uncertainty that is making it difficult for policymakers.

This move sparked major gains in the crypto market as Bitcoin climbed to a weekly high of $116,960 as it nearly touched the $117,000 level. However, the victory ended too soon as BTC avalanched down to the $109,000 range.

What could high crypto liquidations mean for the market?

Crypto liquidations hitting $941 million could indicate extreme volatility and over-leveraging by traders within the wider crypto market. Considering liquidations are triggered by price swings that close long and short positions, such a large-scale wipeout points to an imbalance between bullish and bearish sentiment, with cascading liquidations accelerating the downward move.

This is evident through the overall crypto market cap losing $200 billion or around 2.2% of its market cap. On August 26, the crypto market cap fell from its $4 trillion high and stands at $3.8 trillion. Meanwhile, Bitcoin has yet to recover from its fall from grace; it hangs precariously at the edge of $110,000 as it currently trades at $110,250.

Ethereum (ETH) is faring slightly better despite a 4.9% dip as it stays within the $4,400 range with a value of $4,429.
