What Is Hyperliquid? The Decentralized Exchange With Its Own Blockchain

by admin September 27, 2025

Decentralized perpetual futures exchange Hyperliquid has gone from being a market maker to one of the biggest crypto projects in the world.

Hyperliquid has processed trillions of dollars in volume in its lifespan and is now the third-largest decentralized exchange in crypto—trailing only industry veterans PancakeSwap and Uniswap.

It has been the talk of the town in 2025, but what exactly is Hyperliquid? Why do people care so much about it? And how did it grow to be one of the biggest projects in crypto?

What is Hyperliquid?

Hyperliquid is a decentralized exchange specializing in perpetual futures trading, built atop its own dedicated layer-1 network.

Its native token HYPE has been a roaring success, rising to become a top 20 cryptocurrency by market capitalization less than a year after launching.

Why do people care about Hyperliquid?

Put simply, Hyperliquid makes it easier for traders to speculate on the price fluctuations of cryptocurrencies, thanks to low fees, a large amount of available assets—and, of course, degenerate levels of leverage.

Fees on Hyperliquid range from 0.07% for low-volume taker spot trades, all the way down to 0% for high-volume perp maker fees, per the Hyperliquid docs. Taker traders are when liquidity is removed from the market, while makers add liquidity to the market. For comparison, Uniswap applies a 0.3% fee on trades.

Much like a centralized exchange, users can place trades on most of the major coins regardless of what chain they are on. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, TRUMP—all tradable in one place. Hyperliquid allows traders to use leverage of up to 40x. For comparison, the maximum leverage that Binance offers is 20x, and you have to meet certain requirements to access this tier.

As a result, it has become a battleground for degenerate wars between whales and the crypto community.

Notably, in March 2025, a whale opened a 40x leveraged short position worth $521 million against Bitcoin, which led to everyday traders teaming up in an attempt to liquidate the whale. Spectators were able to watch every movement on the Hyperliquid block explorer, which openly shows a wallet’s held positions, whether it’s in profit, and its liquidation price. The whale won in this instance, dumping the position for a $3.9 million profit.

All of these factors combined have led to Hyperliquid attracting over 700,000 total users since its 2023 launch and amassing a total volume of $2.7 trillion, according to its statistics dashboard.

Hyperliquid’s origin story

Hyperliquid was entirely self-funded and was built by a team of just 11 people, founder Jeff Yan told WuBlockchain in August 2025. He said the project rejected venture capital funding because it gives a fake sense of progression; instead, the team wanted to focus on “real progress” by giving value to users—not investors.

In 2020, Yan started to trade crypto and founded a market-making company, the earliest form of Hyperliquid. Two years later, he told the When Shift Happens podcast, its high-frequency market-making offering had effectively “capped out,” as he looked to grow the project.

That’s when Sam Bankman-Fried’s centralized exchange FTX imploded by using customer funds to cover losses at his trading firm Alameda Research. When a critical mass of users sought to withdraw their funds, their money wasn’t there, and the exchange was caught with its pants down. Bankman-Fried was found guilty on seven counts of fraud, money laundering, and conspiracy, resulting in a 25-year prison sentence.

“All of a sudden, people had a real reason not to trust centralized exchanges—and it wasn’t just mumbo jumbo intellectual stuff, they literally lost all this money, and it was because of centralized exchanges,” Yan told the podcast, calling it a “light bulb moment” indicating that the world was ready for decentralized finance.

The collapse of FTX, Yan said, was the catalyst that made Hyperliquid “go all in” on building a decentralized exchange.

In February 2023, Hyperliquid’s mainnet closed alpha went live. In its first five months, it claimed to have attracted 4,000 users, with 28 different assets available to trade. It hit full mainnet in August of that same year.

Hyperliquid experienced explosive growth following its $1.6 billion airdrop in November 2024—one of the biggest crypto airdrops of all time. Armed with goodwill among traders, Hyperliquid became the talk of the town going into 2025.

It hasn’t all been smooth sailing for the platform. In December 2024, Hyperliquid attracted unwanted attention from North Korean hackers snooping for vulnerabilities. A few months later, it faced a liquidation crisis and was forced to delist a Solana meme coin when a trader made a bet so bad that the Hyperliquid Foundation would’ve been forced to cover some losses.

The incident raised concerns around how the exchange handled heavily leveraged positions—with Gracy Chen, CEO of centralized exchange Bitget, claiming it could become “FTX 2.0.”

The future of Hyperliquid

Hyperliquid has proven to be relatively drama-free since these early growing pains, and has quickly established itself as a player in the crypto space.

As of this writing, according to DefiLlama, it has the eighth largest DeFi total value locked of any layer-1 network—ahead of chains like Aptos, Avalanche, and Linea. It also processes the third-highest monthly trading volume of any decentralized exchange, per DefiLlama.

With stablecoins becoming one of the dominant narratives in 2025, the question of whether Hyperliquid would issue its own stablecoin has inevitably been the subject of intense speculation.

Hyperliquid founder Yan said in the WuBlockchain interview that the Hyperliquid Foundation, the entity that supports the development of the Hyperliquid blockchain and its ecosystem, wouldn’t issue its own stablecoin.

However, in September 2025, the foundation opened submissions for teams to issue a “Hyperliquid-aligned” stablecoin, USDH. It attracted proposals from big-name players like Ethena, Paxos, and Sky, but ultimately went to a newly formed company in Native Markets. With USDH now live and trading, Hyperliquid now has a stablecoin that has dedicated half of its revenues to a protocol-driven buy back scheme.

Now, Hyperliquid faces direct competition from the emerging Aster decentralized exchange, which is offering higher levels of leverage and has the backing of Binance co-founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao.

At the time of publication, Hyperliquid is ahead in terms of token valuation and trading volume—but how long will that last?

BTC News: Hard Fork Chatter Disputed

by admin September 27, 2025

Debates over Bitcoin’s future are nothing new, but this week the discussion took on a sharper edge. One of Bitcoin’s long-serving developers was at the center of a storm about immutability, censorship and what it means to “save” the protocol.

The controversy escalated on Sept. 25, following an article published by The Rage claiming to reveal that Luke Dashjr, maintainer of the Bitcoin Knots software, advocates a hard fork that would install a trusted multisig committee with power to retroactively alter the blockchain, review transactions and remove illicit content.

A blockchain hard fork is a permanent divergence from the previous version of the blockchain software, requiring all participants to upgrade to the new protocol because the new and old versions are incompatible.

The piece cited purported leaked text messages in which Dashjr allegedly warned: “Either Bitcoin dies or we have to trust someone.”

The story spread across X, drawing hundreds of thousands of views and intensifying a long-running philosophical rift: should Bitcoin remain a neutral settlement layer, or should developers actively filter what counts as legitimate use of the network?

Dashjr rejected the claims outright. “The truth is I have not proposed a hardfork or anything of the sort, and these bad actors are just grasping at straws to slander me and try to undermine my efforts to save Bitcoin again,” he wrote.

The Rage responded with a meme to the effect of demanding to know who sent the leaked messages that its story shared.

Dashjr repeated his position multiple times over the following 24 hours. “Nope, nothing changed. Nobody is calling for a hard fork still.” he posted. In another reply, he underlined: “There is no hard fork.”

The Knots vs. Core Divide

Behind the dispute lies a deeper divide between Dashjr’s Bitcoin Knots project and the broader Bitcoin Core software used by most of the network.

Knots enforces tighter transaction policies, including blocking non-financial data such as Ordinals inscriptions and Runes tokens. Dashjr and his supporters argue such measures protect Bitcoin’s monetary integrity and safeguard it from regulatory risks. Core developers have historically taken a more permissive approach, tolerating non-standard data as long as it does not break consensus.

The alleged hard fork proposal cut to the heart of that tension. For Dashjr’s critics, it seemed to confirm fears that his vision requires compromising Bitcoin’s principle of immutability. For his defenders, the leak was an opportunistic smear designed to derail the case for stronger spam filters.

Among his defenders was Udi Wertheimer, co-founder of Taproot Wizards, a Bitcoin Ordinals project, so one which most would assume embodies everyting to which Dashjr is opposed.

“Not a Luke fan but this is a hit piece and fake news. He is not proposing this,” Wertheimer posted on X, referring to the supposed hard fork plan.

“I’m (obviously) not on Luke’s side but…this is just a sloppy low quality propaganda piece,” he wrote.

Wertheimer concluded that what Dasjhr’s leaked messages were a hypothetical discussion about using zero-knowledge proofs to allowing Knots nodes to avoid downloading “spam.”

“This is, as always, a nothing burger,” he concluded. “It’s pretty obvious to me that this proposal never gets implemented, and even if it did, it does not censor the network and does not split the network, and remains fully compatible with core.”

It’s worth noting that over the past 24 hours, BTC$109,485.29 slipped 2.2% to trade at around $109,000, a drop of over 5.5% in the last week.

While there’s no direct evidence linking this dip to the controversy over Dashjr’s alleged plans, the timing is hardly helpful. In crypto markets, uncertainty alone can amplify downward pressure and rumors of protocol upheaval tend to stoke exactly that.

9,008,448 SHIB Burned in Days: Shiba Inu Metric Rockets 10,021%

by admin September 27, 2025

According to Shibburn, 7,082,219 SHIB have been burned in the last 24 hours, contributing to a 10,021.65% surge in daily burn rate.

The over 7 million SHIB tokens burned in the last 24 hours added to a total of 9,008,448 SHIB tokens burned in the last seven days.

According to Shibburn, 9,008,448 SHIB were burned in the last seven days, only producing a 122% increase in weekly burn rate.

With the recent burns, Shiba Inu’s total supply is now 589,247,697,064,597 SHIB out of an initial 1 quadrillion tokens.

While Shiba Inu’s burn rate has skyrocketed in the last 24 hours, the same cannot be said of Shiba Inu’s price, which was trading down alongside the rest of the markets.

At the time of writing, SHIB was trading at $0.0000118 and down 9% weekly.

Bullish October?

Shiba Inu has steadily declined since a high of $0.00001484 on Sept. 13. The price drop continued further to reach a low of $0.0000115 on Thursday before it slightly rebounded.

So far, Shiba Inu is down 3.36% in September, a month usually mixed for its price action, while optimism remains for October. Historically, October has been one of the most reliably positive months for Bitcoin and major cryptocurrencies, including SHIB, earning it the moniker “Uptober.”

The possibility of a Fed rate cut in October after a similar move by the central bank this month remains, which is positive for cryptocurrencies.

In addition, a historical trend evident for Shiba Inu in the last two years is that of last-minute Q4 rallies. It will be interesting to see if history repeats itself as Q4, 2025, progresses.

Bitcoin could reach $200,000 following Powell’s replacement

Galaxy CEO Predicts a $200,000 Bitcoin Following Powell’s Replacement as Bitcoin Hyper Soars

by admin September 27, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Galaxy CEO Mike Novogratz predicts a $200,000 Bitcoin if Jerome Powell’s replacement is dovish.

The comment came during an interview with Kyle Chasse, where Novogratz declared:

Trump told us he wants a dove in the Fed […] And if he picks a dove enough of a person, there’s gonna be an ‘oh s**t’ moment. Gold skyrockets, Bitcoin skyrockets.

—Mike Novogratz, Kye Chasse interview

As Novogratz sees it, Fed’s next chair nominee could serve as the largest crypto catalyst, potentially pushing Bitcoin to a new ATH by the end of the year.

Bitcoin Hyper’s ($HYPER) $18.5M presale will also contribute to that thanks to its promise of turning the Bitcoin network faster and cheaper. Hyper’s Layer 2 aims to solve Bitcoin’s native performance limitation, which would turn the network more feasible for institutional investors.

The Fed Turns Bitcoin Stronger at the Expense of the US Dollar

Novogratz warns against a dangerous tipping of balance between crypto and the US dollar stemming from the Fed’s rate cuts.

While rate cuts are bullish for Bitcoin, they’re bearish for the US dollar, because it scares away investors who seek refuge in high risk, high reward digital assets.

The last FOMC meeting, which took place on September 17, had the opposite effect, though, with the US dollar jumping almost 2 basis points over the following week, while Bitcoin lost 5.4% between then and today.

The meeting resulted in a 0.25% rate cut, which didn’t seem to raise the investors’ interest, but the next ones might. The Fed announced three more cuts coming, two by the end of this year and one more in 2026.

The closest one is planned for October 28 and it’s an almost guarantee if we go by FedWatch’s market sentiment, which puts the odds of a favorable decision at 87.7%.

And this time we expect Bitcoin to recover its lost territory and make a breakthrough for another ATH. With $120K cleared, a push to $130K and beyond is more than feasible.

Mid-October is the true test if Michael Saylor’s Strategy decides to buy the dip, which is more than likely given that Bitcoin is currently in consolidation mode, floating around the $109K zone for over two days.

This hints at a dying bear momentum, which Strategy could capitalize on to push its treasury above 640,000 $BTC.

With a bullish Bitcoin for October and the crypto market on the verge of a coming alt season, Bitcoin Hyper ($HYPER) appears to be the biggest winner.

How Bitcoin Hyper Could Turn Bitcoin Into the Future of the Financial Sector

Bitcoin Hyper ($HYPER) is the Layer 2 upgrade that promises to transform Bitcoin into the driving force behind the new global financial system.

Hyper seeks to solve the very problem that’s holding Bitcoin back in 2025: its native performance limitation. The Bitcoin network is currently limited to seven transactions per second (TPS), which places Bitcoin on the 23rd position on the list of the fastest blockchains in the world.

By comparison, BNB is second with a TPS of 220, while Solana is second with a real-time TPS of up to 1,000 and a theoretical one of 65,000.

A change is necessary and Hyper brings just that with the help of tools like Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) and the Canonical Bridge.

While SVM allows for the ultra-fast execution of DeFi apps and smart contracts, the Canonical Bridge handles network congestion and addresses transaction finality times directly.

The Canonical Bridge works by minting the users’ tokens onto the Hyper layer, allowing investors to use their $BTC in the Hyper ecosystem.

These tools allow Hyper to boost Bitcoin’s performance by improving scalability and allowing for near-instant finality thanks to the Bitcoin Relay Program and the zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs.

Most importantly, Hyper eliminates the fee-based priority system, which prioritizes larger and more fee-heavy transactions to the detriment of the smaller and cheaper ones. This system currently increases transaction confirmation times to hours in some cases.

Long-term, Hyper hopes to turn the Bitcoin network into a more feasible choice for institutional investors who process thousands of transactions per second.

The $18.5M presale offers $HYPER at $0.012985 per token, which translates into a potential wealth-building investment opportunity.

Given Hyper’s projected long-term utility and investor support during the presale, our price prediction for $HYPER puts the token at $0.32 by the end of the year, following a Q4 release.

Continuous support and successful implementation could lead to mainstream adoption, pushing $HYPER up to $1.50 or higher by 2030. This translates to a 11,451% five-year ROI if you invest at today’s price.

If you’d like to support $HYPER or simply diversify your portfolio, read our guide on how to buy $HYPER and go to the presale page today.

Whales gobble up this token with massive presale staking APR

by admin September 27, 2025

Disclosure: This article does not represent investment advice. The content and materials featured on this page are for educational purposes only.

Digitap raises $250k in days, offering massive staking APR and eyeing 100x potential.

Summary

  • XRP, LINK dip, but Digitap surges past $250k funding, offering masssive APR in presale staking.
  • Digitap blends DeFi and TradFi, with 5-year team lock, cashback rewards, and 124% staking APR.
  • With analysts eyeing 100x gains, Digitap is among 2025’s most hyped crypto presales.

It has been a stormy week, marked by a significant dip in the XRP price and the LINK price retesting lower levels. However, while top altcoins erased previous gains, Digitap (TAP) continues to soar. Surpassing $250,000 in funding in just a few days since launch, it is considered among the best crypto presales with 100x potential. Further driving whales’ interest is the 100% staking APR in presale.

XRP Price tumbles by 10% as LINK retests

Following a broader market downtrend, the XRP price dropped by 10% on its weekly chart to $2.7. Initially trading above the $3 mark, rising selling pressure sparked a significant downswing, with bears anticipating further decline.

Amid the latest bears’ rampage, the LINK price nosedived. The oracle-based altcoin slid by 17% over the past seven days, currently hovering around $20. Further, according to CoinMarketCap, it is down 15% on its monthly chart, erasing previous gains.

Digitap: A top crypto presale of 2025 amid 100x forecasts?

Digitap is considered one of the best crypto presales of 2025 for several reasons. First, it is fundamentally solid, representing the best of the worlds of traditional finance and decentralized finance. Additionally, there are several benefits to holding, including staking, cashback rewards, and governance.

Besides analysts’ 100x forecasts, whales have been paying significant attention to its staking model. In addition to buying the token at $0.0125 (its lowest price) in the first presale round, investors can stake them for higher ROIs, earning up to 124% in APR.

Moreover, the team’s tokens will be locked for five years, demonstrating long-term commitment. Further contributing to the growing demand is Digitap’s combination of traditional banks’ familiarity with blockchain’s global speed, positioning it among the best crypto coins to invest in.

XRP and LINK slip, but Digitap explodes

While the XRP price and LINK price are in downtrends, Digitap is soaring high. Early funding is breaking records, highlighting significant investor interest. By combining DeFi and TradFi alongside its significant staking reward, it is poised for massive growth post-launch.

Cipher Stock Rises as Bitcoin Miner Boosts Debt Offering to $1.1 Billion Following Google Deal

by admin September 27, 2025

In brief

  • Cipher Mining on Friday announced it had upped the price of its convertible debt offering.
  • The Nasdaq-listed Bitcoin miner revealed a $3 billion AI hosting deal on Thursday, backstopped by Google.
  • Bitcoin miners are increasingly delving into the world of AI computing, as both require immense computing power.

Bitcoin miner Cipher Mining on Friday announced it had upped the price of its convertible debt offering, one day after revealing a $3 billion AI cloud hosting deal backstopped by Google.

The Nasdaq-listed miner said its convertible senior notes were now priced at $1.1 billion after initially being offered for $800 million.

The notes will be for “persons reasonably believed to be qualified institutional buyers,” and will be due in 2031. Senior notes are a form of debt a company can issue to investors. Convertible notes can be turned into company equity by the buyer.

Cipher’s stock (CIFR) was trading up by nearly 5% on Friday at a price around $12.20 a share, after falling sharply on Thursday following an initial spike at the start of the trading. CIFR has nearly pulled even on the week after being significantly down earlier in the day.

The company on Thursday announced that it signed a 10-year, roughly $3 billion high-performance computing colocation agreement with Fluidstack. The deal will see Cipher deliver 168 MW of critical IT load, supported by a maximum of 244 MW of gross capacity, at its Barber Lake site in Colorado City, Texas.

As part of the deal, Google said it would backstop $1.4 billion of Fluidstack’s lease obligations to support project-related debt financing. In return, the tech giant will receive warrants to acquire approximately 24 million shares of Cipher common stock, or a 5.4% pro forma equity ownership stake.

In the Bitcoin mining world, companies use warehouses full of computers to process transactions on the crypto network. Because they’ve amassed so much computing power, some miners have pivoted their infrastructure to address growing AI demand.

Experts previously told Decrypt that while both industries use data centers, it can be difficult to make the swing from AI to crypto mining.

Bitcoin miner TeraWulf announced in August that Google was providing an incremental $1.4 billion backstop to support project-related debt financing, upping its total stake to $3.2 billion.

Seasonality, Strategy (MSTR), Nvidia (NVDA) And Others Offer Mixed Signals

Seasonality, Strategy (MSTR), Nvidia (NVDA) And Others Offer Mixed Signals

by admin September 27, 2025

This is an analysis post by CoinDesk analyst and Chartered Market Technician Omkar Godbole.

As we approach the final quarter of 2025, the following key charts provide valuable insights to help crypto traders navigate the evolving market landscape.

Bullish seasonality

Seasonal trends suggest a bullish Q4 outlook for both BTC$109,398.64 and ETH$4,010.26, the top two cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.

Since 2013, BTC$109,398.64 has delivered an average return of 85% in the final quarter, according to data from Coinglass, making Q4 historically the strongest period for bulls.

Seasonality leans bullish for BTC and ETH. (Coinglass)

November stands out as the most bullish month, with an average gain of 46%, followed by October, which typically sees a 21% increase.

ETH$4,010.26 also tends to perform well in the last three months of the year, although its strongest historical returns have been in the first quarter since inception.

BTC’s 50-week SMA support

Bitcoin’s price has dropped by 5% this week, consistent with the bearish technical signals and looks set to extend losses to late August lows near $107,300. If bulls fail to defend that, the focus will shift to the 200-day simple moving average at $104,200.

The ongoing price decline, combined with bitcoin’s historical pattern of peaking approximately 16 to 18 months after a halving event, may scare bulls.

However, such concerns may be premature as long as prices remain above the 50-week simple moving average (SMA). This moving average has consistently acted as a support level, marking the end of corrective price pullbacks during the current bull run that began in early 2023.

BTC’s weekly chart in candlesticks format. (TradingView/CoinDesk)

Traders, therefore, should closely watch the 50-week SMA, which is currently positioned around $98,900, as a key level for broader market direction.

XRP/BTC compression

XRP, often called the “U.S. government coin” by firms like Arca, has surged 32% this year. However, despite this strong rally, the payments-focused cryptocurrency remains confined within a prolonged sideways trading range against Bitcoin (XRP/BTC), showing limited relative strength.

The XRP/BTC pair has been confined within a narrow trading range since early 2021, resulting in over four years of low-volatility compression.

Prolonged range play in XRP/BTC. (TradingView/CoinDesk)

Recent price action near the upper boundary of this channel suggests that bulls are gradually gaining control. A breakout from such a prolonged consolidation could trigger a powerful rally in XRP relative to BTC, as the accumulated energy from this squeeze is released.

Now, let’s turn to charts that call for caution.

Breakout in Defiance Daily Target 2x Short MSTR ETF (SMST)

The leveraged anti-Strategy ETF (SMST), which seeks to deliver daily investment results that are -200%, or minus 2x, the daily percentage change in bitcoin-holder Strategy’s (MSTR) share price, is flashing bullish signals.

The ETF’s price climbed to a five-month high of $35.65, forming what appears to be an inverse head-and-shoulders pattern, characterized by a prominent trough (the head) flanked by two smaller, roughly equal troughs (the shoulders).

Defiance Daily Target 2x Short MSTR ETF (SMST). (TradingView/CoinDesk)

This pattern often signals a potential bullish reversal, suggesting the ETF may be gearing up for a significant upward move.

In other words, it’s flashing a bearish signal for both BTC and Strategy, which is the largest publicly listed BTC holder with a coin stash of 639,835 BTC.

Dollar Index’s double bottom

Last week, I discussed the dollar’s post-Fed rate cut resilience as a potential headwind for risk assets, including cryptocurrencies.

The dollar index has since gained ground, establishing a double bottom at around 96.30. It’s a sign that bulls have successfully established the path of least resistance on the higher side.

Dollar Index. (DXY). (CoinDesk/TradingView)

A continued move beyond 100.26, the high of the interim recovery between the twin bottoms around 96.30, would confirm the so-called double bottom breakout, opening the door for a move to 104.00.

Watch out for the pattern failure below 96.00, as that could lead to increased risk-taking in financial markets.

NVDA topping?

Nvidia (NVDA), the world’s largest listed company by market value, and a bellwether for risk assets, continues to flirt with the upper end of the broadening channel identified by June 2024 and November 2024 highs and lows hit in August 2024 and April 2025.

NVDA’s bull run has stalled at key resistance. (TradingView/CoinDesk)

The rally has stalled at the upper trendline since late July in a sign of bullish exhaustion. Should it decline from here, it could signal the onset of a risk-off period in global markets, including cryptocurrencies.

Ethereum (ETH) Price Prediction for September 27

by admin September 27, 2025

Most of the coins are going up after a correction, according to CoinStats.

ETH chart by CoinStats

ETH/USD

The rate of Ethereum (ETH) has gone up by 1.36% since yesterday.

On the hourly chart, the price of ETH is bearish as it is near the local support of $3,983. If bulls cannot seize the initiative, the fall is likely to continue to the $3,950 area.

On the bigger time frame, the picture is neither bullish nor bearish as the rate is within yesterday’s bar. The volume is declining, which means neither side has enough strength for a sharp move.

From the midterm point of view, traders should pay attention to the weekly bar closure in terms of the mirror level of $4,107. If it happens around the current prices or below, the decline may continue to the $3,600-$3,800 zone.

Ethereum is trading at $3,989 at press time.

Kraken Secures $500 Million In Latest Funding Round, Boosting Valuation To $15B

by admin September 27, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

US-based cryptocurrency exchange Kraken, has successfully closed a $500 million funding round, achieving a valuation of $15 billion, as reported by Fortune. This significant milestone comes as the company gears up for its anticipated initial public offering (IPO), which is expected to take place next year.

Kraken’s Valuation Rises To $15 Billion

In July, The Information reported on Kraken’s intentions to raise this substantial amount, and recent updates confirm that the funding round was finalized this month without a primary investor.

Instead, Kraken set the terms of the deal, including the valuation figure. Among the contributors to this funding round were various investment managers and venture capitalists, notably including the exchange co-CEO Arjun Sethi’s Tribe Capital, as well as Sethi himself in a personal capacity.

This latest valuation marks a notable increase from the $11 billion the exchange reached in 2022, when it raised an undisclosed sum. Kraken has demonstrated strong financial performance in recent years, reporting $1.5 billion in revenue for 2024, with an additional $472 million generated in the first quarter of 2025.

Currently, the exchange handles an impressive daily trading volume of $1.37 billion, making it the second largest in the United States after Coinbase (COIN), which already went public back in April, 2021.

Crypto IPO Boom

The crypto landscape has experienced a notable shift this year, as investor sentiment has evolved from a period of exuberance in 2021 to a more cautious approach.

However, the appetite for public offerings among crypto firms has resurged, driven by favorable regulatory developments. This shift has sparked a wave of IPO activity in the cryptocurrency sector with Circle (CRLC), and Bullish (BLSH), capitalizing on the rising interest toward crypto stocks.

In addition to its funding success, Kraken is aggressively expanding its services beyond traditional cryptocurrencies. The company has ventured into tokenized stocks, positioning itself at the forefront of this emerging market.

Furthermore, it recently acquired the US-regulated retail futures trading platform NinjaTrader for $1.5 billion, with plans to extend its reach into the UK, Europe, and Australia.

Earlier in the year, Kraken also acquired a Cyprus-based company to secure a Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) license, enabling it to offer derivatives across the European Economic Area (EEA).

On the political front, Kraken has committed to donating $2 million to two pro-crypto political action committees (PACs), reinforcing its dedication to advocating for privacy and innovation rights in the United States.

Co-CEO Arjun Sethi emphasized the ongoing battle for the future of cryptocurrency in the US, noting a significant shift in the political climate from “fear to understanding” throughout 2025.

Shiba Inu price recovery in sight as burn rate rockets 7,200%

by admin September 27, 2025

Shiba Inu price bottomed at a crucial support level, with the soaring burn rate and whale buying, and falling exchange reserves pointing to an eventual rebound.

Summary

  • Shiba Inu price could rebound as the burn rate soars.
  • Whale have continued to accumulate SHIB coins.
  • The balances of Shiba Inu coins in exchanges has plunged.

Shiba Inu (SHIB) token was trading at $0.00001180 on Friday, Sep. 26, its lowest level since Aug. 2.

Soaring burn rate and whale buying, falling exchange reserves

SHIB could be about to rebound as key fundamental catalysts align. Data compiled by Shiburn shows that the burn rate jumped by 7,200% on Friday to 7.06 million coins.

The burn rate jumped as one user sent 6 million SHIB to a burn address in three transactions. This burn brings the cumulative incinerated tokens to over 410 billion and the current circulating supply to 584 billion.

Another bullish metric is that whales have continued to accumulate SHIB, a sign that they expect it to rebound. Whales now hold 89 billion SHIB, up from this month’s low of 28 billion.

The closely-watched smart money investors who have a reputation of executing profitable trades have also boosted their positions. They have added their holdings by 105% in the last 30 days to 12.46 billion coins.

The ongoing accumulation likely explains why the amount of Shiba Inu Coins in exchanges has dropped to 283 trillion, down from 297 trillion in July.

These metrics are signs that investors expect the coin to rebound after falling by double digits this year.

The daily chart shows that the SHIB price has moved sideways in the past few weeks. It has formed a symmetrical triangle pattern whose two lines are about to converge. The coin moved below the lower side of this pattern during the ongoing crypto market crash. While this is a bearish move, it may also be a false breakout.

Shiba Inu’s Relative Strength Index and Chande Momentum Oscillator have moved to their lowest levels since June. The last time this happened, the coin rebounded by double digits.

Therefore, there is a likelihood that SHIB will rebound in the coming days. If this happens, the coin will likely rally and hit the important resistance at $0.0001477, the highest point on Sept. 14.
