New Stellar (XLM) DeFi Trigger Signals Potential Surge to $10

New Stellar (XLM) DeFi Trigger Signals Potential Surge to $10

by admin September 29, 2025

Stellar (XLM) is flashing bullish signals in the last 24 hours. The coin has seen an uptick in decentralized finance (DeFi) adoption within this period, leading to a price surge. DefiLlama data shows that approximately 400 million XLM have been locked in Stellar by investors.

Stellar’s total value locked (TVL) gains momentum

Notably, this refers to the total value locked (TVL), which measures the value of crypto assets deposited on the DeFi protocol. The fiat value of this stands at $143.35 million, a 1.56% increase within the last 24 hours.

This increase in the amount of TVL staked XLM signals that DeFi apps on Stellar are gaining traction and attracting more users and liquidity. It indicates growing investor confidence in Stellar’s DeFi ecosystem, and this is beginning to impact the price outlook.

As of press time, Stellar is changing hands at $0.3658, marking a 3.74% increase within this time frame. The asset previously jumped to a peak of $0.3708 before its slight dip to the current level. Meanwhile, trading volume has spiked by a significant 61.9% to $184.2 million.

The uptick in these metrics suggests that the asset has the potential for bullish growth. If the momentum is sustained, Stellar could climb toward the $1 mark in the next couple of weeks.

Last week, when Stellar’s volume rose by 36%, it created a resultant upsurge in price. With approximately double the volume increase triggered by the DeFi growth, XLM is likely to continue on an upward trajectory.

Market analysts believe that if Stellar could cross the $0.40 price resistance level, it could catalyze the $1 target.

Institutional adoption strengthens Stellar’s outlook

Recent institutional adoption of Stellar by traditional players could support the price outlook. Visa and PayPal’s recent partnerships could further expand XLM’s real-world utility. These integrations confirm the asset’s role in cross-border payments and DeFi.

Stellar investors are anticipating this uptick as October is set to roll in in less than 48 hours. With an average growth rate of 6.79%, XLM is likely to make an attempt to soar upward, particularly as October is considered a bullish month for crypto assets.

If history repeats itself, Stellar could record increased capital inflows that might positively impact the price outlook in October.

Chainlink Teams With Major Financial Institutions to Fix $58B Corporate Actions Problem

by admin September 29, 2025

Decentralized oracle network Chainlink is working with 24 of the world’s largest financial institutions to overhaul how corporate actions, such as dividends, stock splits, and mergers, are processed across global markets.

Chainlink ran a pilot with SWIFT, DTCC, Euroclear and six other financial institutions. It leveraged a combination of its blockchain-based and artificial intelligence (AI) to ingest and validate real corporate action events in multiple languages.

That led to the production of unified data containers, known as golden records, in near real time, according to a press release shared with CoinDesk.

These records were distributed simultaneously to blockchain networks and legacy systems like the interbank messaging system SWIFT, significantly reducing manual work and the risk of error.

The process used a blend of large language models, including OpenAI’s GPT, Google’s Gemini, and Anthropic’s Claude, to extract structured data from unstructured corporate action announcements. These were then published as unified gold records on-chain to create a “single source of truth that all participants can easily access, verify, and build upon.”

Chainlink’s Runtime Environment (CRE) validated model outputs, while its interoperability protocol (CCIP) relayed data to blockchains, including Avalanche and DTCC’s private network.

Data attesters cryptographically attested the outputs and contributed to potentially missing data fields. According to Chainlink, the system achieved a near 100% data consensus across all test events.

The current system for processing corporate actions is costly. Citi’s 2025 Asset Servicing report shows that the average corporate action touches 110,000 interactions and costs $34 million to process. The global financial industry is now spending an estimated $58 billion annually in processing corporate actions.

Bitcoin Coin Days Destroyed Drops By 50% Amid Waning Price Action – What This Means

by admin September 29, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

As the new week begins, Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency asset, experienced a slight upward move after reclaiming the $111,000 price mark once again. Within the ongoing volatility that has hindered BTC’s uptrend, several key on-chain metrics are starting to exhibit bullish developments, suggesting a potential resurgence in the market.

HODL Wave Intensifies As Bitcoin CDD Falls

Bitcoin’s price continues to struggle with volatility, but on-chain metrics are flashing signs of renewed resilience. The newfound resilience is indicated by the BTC Coin Days Destroyed (CDD) metric, a key indicator of long-term holder activity, which has declined strongly in recent market trends.

Darkfost, a market expert and author, reported the decline in Coin Days Destroyed in a recent post on the social media platform X. This sharp drop implies that more experienced investors are retaining more coins rather than spending them, as evidenced by the fact that they are moving fewer coins.

Specifically, CDD is a highly pertinent metric to gauge the “firepower” of LTHs, as the metric takes into consideration the holding days of recently transferred BTC. According to Darkfost, CDD signals this at the exact moment of movement, providing an opportunity to predict selling pressure. It’s a powerful early indicator because when long-term holders move their coins, they frequently do so with the intention of selling.

Source: Chart from Darkfost on X

Looking at what’s going on with CDD, Darkfost highlighted that the activity on the LTH side finally appears to have slowed down. Historically, such developments have been linked to consolidation periods preceding new uptrends. Therefore, this change may be an indication of increased market confidence in Bitcoin’s long-term direction.

After reaching a monthly average record of almost 1.3 million BTC, the key CDD metric has now been cut in half to around 650,000 BTC. With the 50% decline, the metric is now back below the yearly average, which remains elevated.

BTC Long-Term Holders SOPR Exhibiting Weakness

In addition to the report, Darkfost has revealed a worrying trend in the Bitcoin Long-Term Holders Spent Output Profit Ratio (SOPR). Presently, long-term BTC holders seem to be showing subtle signs of fatigue, as their SOPR has weakened.

This indicator, which monitors whether coins moved on-chain are being sold for a profit or a loss, frequently captures more profound changes in the opinion of experienced investors. According to the expert, the major metric is now located at 1.26, marking its lowest level since February 2024.

On a monthly average basis, it has also experienced a significant decline, currently standing at 1.70, indicating a 70% average profit, following a peak of 3. Darkfost noted that the drop indicates that there is less selling pressure on LTH. Although the industry has changed, the analyst notes that the activity of long-term holders remains important to monitor due to their influence on the market.

Bitcoin Recovers Above $112,000, Boosted by Weekend Gains

by admin September 29, 2025

In brief

  • Bitcoin recovered to $112,000 Monday morning, recovering losses sustained during last week’s price slump.
  • CME-based Bitcoin futures and options products saw a $4.33 billion decline in open interest between September 18 and 26.
  • Crypto-native investors remained optimistic despite last week’s liquidation event, supported by an $800 million uptick in open interest and rising funding rates.

Bitcoin recovered above $112,000 Monday morning, supported by a surge in buying pressure noted during the weekend.

As a result, the top crypto is up 2.5% in the past 24 hours, undoing most of last Thursday’s losses, per CoinGecko data. Buoyed by Bitcoin’s strength, altcoins have also soared higher, resulting in a $354 million liquidation spree and the total cryptocurrency market capitalization nearing the $4 trillion mark.

Bitcoin’s Monday morning rise reflects “a mix of macro relief, with a softer U.S. dollar and steadier rate expectations, alongside a cleaned-up leverage after recent liquidations and renewed accumulation from larger players,” Farzam Ehsani, CEO and co-founder of VALR, told Decrypt.

The broader crypto market losses noted last week were primarily driven by quarter-end rebalancing, experts told Decrypt. Open interest for CME’s Bitcoin futures fell by $2.83 billion to $14.73 billion between September 18 and 25, while options dropped by $1.50 billion to $4.63 billion over the following two days, per Velo data.

U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds also saw net outflows last week as part of the quarter-end basis unwind, as noted by Singapore-based trading desk QCP Capital in its Monday post. Experts who previously spoke to Decrypt also noted the ETF outflows were not a sign of weakness, but a sign of buyer strength.

Signs of optimism?

While sophisticated traders across CME’s products resort to rebalancing, perpetual traders in the cryptocurrency space have doubled down despite last week’s brutal liquidation events.

“Optimism is re-emerging,” QCP Capital noted, citing the growth in open interest for Bitcoin’s perpetuals from $42.8 billion to $43.6 billion, coupled with positive funding rates.

On prediction market Myriad, launched by Decrypt’s parent company DASTAN, users expect Bitcoin to close out September above $105,000, but remain divided on its long-term outlook. Predictors place a 57% chance on Bitcoin dipping to $105,000 rather than surging to $125,000, continuing a broadly bearish trend that kicked off with last week’s price slump.

All eyes are now on September’s Nonfarm Payrolls, scheduled for Friday, which could be delayed if the U.S. government shuts down.

Despite near-term uncertainty, investors remain bullish, as Bitcoin is poised to enter a historically bullish fourth quarter with a median return of 52%.

“Bitcoin will continue to anchor sentiment, especially with the halving narrative getting closer,” Shawn Young, chief analyst of MEXC Research, told Decrypt.

Hyperliquid-based Hyperdrive resumes services after exploit

by admin September 29, 2025

Hyperdrive has restored operations and compensated users after a June exploit drained funds from two markets on the Hyperliquid blockchain.

Summary

  • Hyperdrive exploited for ~$700K on Sept. 27.
  • Attack traced to router contract permissions.
  • Users reimbursed, markets fully restored.

Hyperdrive, a decentralized finance protocol on the Hyperliquid blockchain, has resumed full operations and restored funds to affected users after an exploit drained nearly $700,000 from two markets.

According to the project’s Sept. 29 update on X, all accounts impacted by the attack have been remediated and market functions are now back online. The team confirmed that the exploit was limited to the Primary and Treasury USDT0 markets and did not spread to other assets or contracts.

Details of Hyperdrive exploit

On Sept. 27, attackers took advantage of Hyperdrive’s router contract, which had been granted operator permissions during lending processes. This made it possible to manipulate collateralized positions and make arbitrary function calls to whitelisted contracts. Two accounts were drained, losing 672,934 USDT0 and 110,244 thBILL tokens.

The stolen money was tracked to Ethereum (ETH) and BNB (BNB) Chain, where some of it was laundered using Tornado Cash. External auditors and forensic specialists were enlisted by Hyperdrive, who verified the vulnerability was fixed and created a patch in a matter of hours. All markets were paused during remediation, with operations resuming only after compensation was completed.

Ongoing investigation and security response

Hyperdrive stated that the attack was carried out by a known threat actor previously linked to high-profile protocol exploits. A full post-mortem report will be published in the coming days. While reiterating that user accounts are now secure, the team cautioned against scams and unofficial communications.

Despite the setback, Hyperdrive says its long-term strategy is still the same, concentrating on yield strategies like tokenizing Treasury bills with partners like Theo Network. The team aims to strengthen user trust while pushing for more extensive security audits throughout the ecosystem.

The incident highlights risks facing the Hyperliquid (HYPE) ecosystem, which recently saw a $3.6 million rug pull at HyperVault, another protocol built on the chain. Since Hyperliquid only runs a small number of validator nodes, issues with centralization and system security remain.

Pavel Durov Claims French Intel Tried Pressuring Telegram Channels

Pavel Durov Claims French Intel Tried Pressuring Telegram Channels

by admin September 29, 2025

Telegram Founder Pavel Durov has publicly detailed an alleged attempt by French intelligence to involve him in censoring political content ahead of Moldova’s presidential elections. Writing on X, Durov described the episode as a troubling effort to influence both judicial proceedings and political discourse.

Alleged request to censor channels

According to Durov, approximately a year ago, while he was in Paris, French intelligence approached him through an intermediary. They requested his assistance in helping the Moldovan government suppress certain Telegram channels during the election period.

Durov explained that after reviewing the flagged channels, his team identified a few that genuinely violated Telegram’s rules and were therefore removed. In return, the intermediary claimed that French intelligence would “say good things” about Durov to the judge who had ordered his arrest in August of the previous year.

Concerns over judicial interference

Durov described this offer as unacceptable. He noted that if French intelligence did approach the judge, it would represent an attempt to interfere in an ongoing judicial process.

Conversely, if the claim was false, it could indicate an effort to leverage his legal situation to influence political outcomes in Eastern Europe, a tactic Durov said he has observed previously in Romania.

Second list of channels

Shortly after, Telegram received a second list of Moldovan channels deemed “problematic.” Unlike the first batch, nearly all of these channels were legitimate and fully compliant with Telegram’s policies. The common factor, Durov noted, was that these channels expressed political views disfavored by the French and Moldovan governments.

Telegram’s stance on free speech

Telegram has refused to act on the second set of channels flagged by authorities. Pavel Durov said the platform will not remove content for political reasons and reiterated its commitment to free speech. He also promised to continue exposing any attempts to pressure Telegram into censorship, underlining the company’s independence from government influence.

The disclosure comes amid growing scrutiny of how governments are trying to influence social media platforms ahead of elections, highlighting the tension between security concerns and protecting online freedom.

Cathie Wood Says She Prefers Bitcoin Over Ethereum

by admin September 29, 2025

  • Warming up to ETH
  • Bullish price prediction

During a recent appearance on “The Master Investor Podcast” with veteran business reporter Wilfred Frost, Ark Invest’s Cathie Wood stated that she favors Bitcoin over Ethereum.

According to Wood, Bitcoin is “the global monetary system,” which is alone “a very big idea.”

The famed stock picker is also bullish on Bitcoin because of its superior technology, noting that the Layer-1 blockchain has never been hacked. “The other blockchains cannot say that,” she added.

Lastly, Bitcoin is also viewed as a new asset class. The largest cryptocurrency is currently the ninth biggest asset with a market cap of roughly $2.2 trillion.

Warming up to ETH

With that being said, Wood has also noted that Ethereum (ETH) plays “a very important role” within the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem.

She has added that a lot of the fees are going to Layer 2s of the likes of Coinbase’s Base. They, according to Wood, are getting a “disproportionate” amount of fees, and the question is whether or not competing Layer 2s will confer more importance to the Layer 1. Ark Invest thinks that this could be possible, which is why the Florida-based investment firm is betting on ETH.

Bullish price prediction

Ark Invest, which made its first publicly disclosed Bitcoin bet back in 2017, has been bullish on Bitcoin for years. It has both direct and indirect exposure to the leading cryptocurrency by holding the shares of such companies as Strategy (MSTR).

The investment firm has predicted that the price of the leading cryptocurrency could surge to as high as $2.4 million by the end of the decade.

Novogratz Makes The Bull Case

by admin September 29, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Galaxy Digital CEO Mike Novogratz used a weekend appearance on Kyle Chassé’s podcast to make an unexpected—if nuanced—bull case for XRP, arguing that the asset’s value today is anchored less in on-chain activity than in an unusually durable, identity-forming community that has survived lawsuits, bear markets and cycles of derision from rivals.

“XRP has one of the strongest communities there is. You want to learn about it, say something bad about them,” Novogratz said. “People will be out in front of your house with picket signs protesting you. Those community members love their token. They have a narrative, it’s going to be payments…” He acknowledged that present-day activity trails faster networks—“We can look at how much use case is on the blockchain. It’s not nearly as much as on Solana, right? Small. It doesn’t matter for their value proposition right now. Their value proposition is the intensity of that community.”

The Bull Case For XRP

The Galaxy CEO framed that intensity as a rational response to a broader collapse of trust since the 2008 crisis. “We have so little trust that we’re finding trust in these online crypto communities,” he argued, describing the strongest crypto ecosystems as “cults” in the sociological sense—conviction-driven communities that substitute identity and shared myth for institutional trust. “All the crypto that are successful are cults,” he said. It is the kind of commitment that inspires permanence signals—“that’s why people get tattoos… No one gets tattoos about their stock.”

Novogratz contrasted equity investors’ price discipline with crypto tribal loyalty. “I’m an Oracle guy. I like Oracle when it’s cheap. I don’t like it when it’s expensive,” he said. “You’ve never heard an XRP Army guy think XRP is expensive… They just want to be in XRP.” The same identity logic, he noted, permeates Bitcoin: “I’ve got one employee who loves Bitcoin so much… if Bitcoin went away, he would have almost no purpose in life. Like, his purpose is Bitcoin.”

Chassé pushed the analogy into equities by name-checking Tesla’s fandom. Novogratz agreed: “Tesla, because it’s become a cult. It’s a community. It’s a cult.” That bleed-through between markets, in his view, is the tell: culture can dominate valuation models for long stretches, and crypto’s most resilient assets are those whose communities behave as movements.

XRP’s path through US litigation became his central case study in resilience. “I didn’t think XRP would last after the lawsuits and all the… It did. And it’s stronger. It’s actually been the best token you could have bought post-election,” he said, calling the phenomenon “almost irrational” but instructive for understanding why dismissing a community can be costly. Novogratz credited Ripple’s chief executive directly: “Brad Garlinghouse has done a world-class job of navigating these lawsuits, of keeping that community…”

He also used the moment to revisit his own priors about decentralization purity tests. “I used to get angry about it because I was like, oh, it’s not Bitcoin. It’s not as decentralized… Like, who am I to judge where people want to store their money?” He extended the principle beyond XRP: “The same holds true for XRP or Cardano. If people want to store their money in that community, go for it… The arrogance of thinking my community is good, but your community sucks. It’s just stupid. Now, I can make technical arguments for more decentralized than you… Like, who cares? No one cares.”

For Novogratz, crypto communities behave like polities—“They each have their own constitution, Declaration of Independence. They each have their own culture.” He illustrated the point with a story about Galaxy’s own office décor: “We have the Bitcoin white paper on our freaking ceiling… like the beginning [crawl] in Star Wars… That is the constitution of the Bitcoin community.” The implication for XRP is straightforward: as long as the “constitution” of its community remains intact—an ethos he sees as forged under legal fire—the token’s bid can be sustained by identity as much as by immediate utility.

Chassé briefly touched on price perceptions from retail—“people think XRP is very cheap at $3 because if it gets the same price Bitcoin’s at one day, imagine the upside”—to which Novogratz responded by reiterating his refusal to play judge over others’ monetary choices. “When people thought I was crazy, I was like, who the freak are you to judge where I want to… save my money?”

At press time, XRP traded at $2.85.

Solana, Dogecoin and Others Lead Gains as Short Liquidations Top $260M

by admin September 29, 2025

In brief

  • Top alcoins have risen 3–4% in the past 24 hours, partially reversing last week’s sell-off.
  • About $345 million in crypto liquidations were recorded, mostly from short positions.
  • One analsyt expects near-term consolidation before capital rotation into select altcoin segments in Q4.

A weekend surge in crypto has partially erased last week’s losses as traders look to regain a bullish foothold in the market.

Solana, Dogecoin, Cardano, Ethereum, and XRP have led gains among the ten largest cryptocurrencies by market value, rising between 3% and 4% on the day, according to CoinGecko.

Nearly $260 million worth of short positions have been wiped out, bringing the 24-hour total for all liquidations to $345 million, according to CoinGlass figures.

Shivam Thakral, CEO of BuyUcoin, told Decrypt the uptick in Bitcoin has triggered a short-covering move, which in turn has amplified prices for altcoins.

Short covering occurs when sellers are forced to buy their positions to offset losses as the price moves against them.

Due to a correlation between Bitcoin and altcoins, Thakral expects prices to consolidate until traders begin rotating capital into altcoins sometime this week.

Looking to the fourth quarter, Thakral expects narrative-driven altcoin sectors, such as Layer 2, AI, and staking derivatives, to attract a bid.

While a handful of altcoins may experience “outsized returns,” others that lack “story, roadmap, and adoption” are likely to stagnate, he added.

Experts who previously spoke to Decrypt have shared a similar bullish outlook for Bitcoin and the broader crypto market, despite last week’s downtrend and institutional outflow.

The Fear and Greed Index, meanwhile, has bounced from fear territory last Friday to neutral as of Monday, according to CoinGlass data, reflecting the broader bullish sentiment following the weekend rally.

The overall crypto market capitalization hovers around $2.23 trillion, up 2.35% in the last 24 hours.

Cardano price at risk of a deeper dive as key DeFi metrics crash

by admin September 29, 2025

Cardano price has plunged into a bear market by over 24% from the year-to-date high; technicals in the DeFi industry point to more downside.

Summary

  • Cardano price has formed a head-and-shoulders and a rising wedge pattern on the daily chart.
  • The total value locked in its DeFi ecosystem has plunged in the past few weeks.
  • It is not benefiting from the GENIUS Act as the stablecoin supply has crashed.

Cardano (ADA) token dropped to $0.7736, its lowest level since Aug. 12, mirroring the performance of most altcoins like Ethereum and Solana.

One of the key fundamental reasons for the plunge is the Cardano’s decentralized finance ecosystem has underperformed its peer chains. The total value locked has plunged to $320 million, its lowest level in months and much lower than the year-to-date high of $680 million.

Cardano has not had any major new DeFi applications in its ecosystem this year. The biggest names in its ecosystem are platforms like Liqwid, Minswap, and Indigo.

Meanwhile, Cardano is not benefiting from the recently passed GENIUS Act as the total stablecoin supply in its network has dropped by 4.4% in the last seven days to $37 million. This supply is much smaller than other newer blockchains like Unichain, Linea, and Plasma.

Cardano’s decentralized exchange ecosystem has also gone quiet, with the volume continuing to falling. These DEX networks handled just $1.4 million in the last 24 hours.

Additionally, there are signs of little institutional demand for Cardano as only Grayscale has filed for a spot ADA ETF. In contrast, coins like Solana (SOL) and Ripple (XRP) have attracted at least 7 applications.

Cardano price technical analysis

ADA price chart | Source: crypto.new

A technical analysis suggests further downside for the Cardano price in the coming weeks. It has formed a rising wedge pattern on the daily chart. A closer look reveals that it has already moved below the lower side of this pattern, indicating further downside.

Cardano price has also formed a head-and-shoulders pattern and has already crashed below the neckline.

ADA price has plunged below the 50-day and 100-day Exponential Moving Averages, a sign that bears have prevailed.

The Average Directional Index has moved to 22, indicating that the downtrend is intensifying.

Therefore, these patterns suggest a potential downside, potentially reaching the June low of $0.5095, which is approximately 35% below the current level.
