Baldur’s Gate 3 custom campaign mod recreates the original Baldur’s Gate’s Candlekeep and prologue

by admin August 27, 2025

A new Baldur’s Gate 3 custom campaign mod has emerged onto the Nexus like Gale’s mitt through that portal, and it’s one you’ll likely want to check out if you fancy getting nostalgic for one of RPG’s classic siblings. Return to Candlekeep, as you might have gleaned from the title, aims to recreate the prologue of the original Baldur’s Gate, by taking you to a certain library fortress.

It’s not surprising someone’s given this a go. After all, daunting tasks as such things might be, a good number of the BG3 custom campaigns being put together with the Moonglasses toolkit have opted to try their hand at taking players to revamped versions of locations from the previous two games.

Enter catchily-named modder 786r786, who released Return to Candlekeep this weekend just gone. Re-creating the opening area from the first game, it’ll let you wander around everywhere from Candlekeep library, to the inn, and the pool/altar combo that makes up the Temple of Oghma.

You get a good look around these, plus a gander at the custom main menu, character creation screen and camp the modder’s included, in the over 20 minute-long tour video below. They don’t do much talking to NPCs in that, likely on account of the mod not having any voice acting at the moment, but write in the description that they’ve pulled across all of the quests and dialogue lines you’d expect from such a recreation. There should be enough to keep you occupied for “about an hour thirty at most”, which is why 786r786 has dubbed this a mini-campaign.

Watch on YouTube

There are some teething issues it’s worth being aware of, not that such a thing’s that surprising given the testing ground advanced BG3 campaign mods still are at this point. Parts of buildings can appear unloaded, leaving roofs awkwardly floating with no supports, while NPC helmets can “disconnect from their head at a distance”. On the plus side, cases of long-term helmet hair affliction are likely lower among the residents of Candlekeep than those of the base game.

786r786 says there’s nothing they can do about these issues at the moment, and as for whether they’ll flesh out the mod more going forwards, they’ve a one word answer: “potentially”.

Regardless of whether they keep at it, this is a cool thing for them to have done, given Larian themselves considered working a return to Candlekeep into Baldur’s Gate 3 while they were weaving their development magic. The devs even got as far as coming up with ideas for a zany seer chilling in the basement, as our Edwin, former RPSer/BG3 lead writer Adam Smith, and keen journo/Larian CEO Swen Vincke chatted about last year.

Check Out The Official Teaser Trailer For Silent Hill 2 Movie Adaptation, Return To Silent Hill

by admin August 27, 2025

It’s a great time to be a fan of Konami’s Silent Hill series. Between Bloober Team’s great Silent Hill 2 remake last year, the upcoming Silent Hill f that launches next month, and Return To Silent Hill, the Silent Hill 2 film adaptation hitting silver screens on January 23, there’s plenty of psychological horror to go around. Ahead of the movie’s release early next year, Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting have released an official teaser trailer for the film.

“Return To Silent Hill brings the iconic horror franchise back to the screen,” the movie’s logline reads. “When James receives a mysterious letter from his lost love Mary, he is drawn to Silent Hill—a once-familiar town now consumed by darkness. As he searches for her, James faces monstrous creatures and unravels a terrifying truth that will push him to the edge of his sanity.”

Check out the Return To Silent Hill teaser for yourself below:

Return To Silent Hill hits theaters on January 23, 2026. It has a run time of 105 minutes and is directed by Christophe Gans, the director of 2006’s Silent Hill.

In the meantime, read Game Informer’s Silent Hill 2 remake review, and then check out the latest trailer for Silent Hill f, which hits PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on September 25.

No Man’s Sky adds fully customisable multi-crew spaceships you can build and fly with your friends

by admin August 27, 2025

Space can be a lonely place, what with it being – as a wise man once famously put it – so vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big and all. Which is where No Man’s Sky new Voyagers update comes in. Now, those long treks across the infinite expanse needn’t be quite so lonely thanks to the introduction of multi-crew space ships you can build, pilot, and stroll around with friends.

Customisable ships – not to be confused with No Man’s Sky’s existing customisable freighters, which essentially serve as gargantuan deep space bases – have been at the top of many a fan’s wishlist for quite some time. And today’s Voyagers update look to deliver and then some. After progressing to a certain point in the story, players gain access to a hangar-like workshop where new Corvette spaceships can be engineered both outside and within. Customisable components include hulls, wings, landing gear, engine parts, thrusters, and weapons, and all can be arranged to suit players’ whims.

And then there’s the habitable interior. “Add sleeping quarters,” developer Hello Games explains, “and you are ready to welcome a crew of friends on board. Add a mission radar and you are ready for adventure. A teleporter and you have an away team.” There’s also talk of med-bays and war rooms, or you can just add a window and watch the universe go by. And for thrillseekers, it’s even possible to flip open the Corvette’s airlock and go for a space walk together or, once within a planet’s atmosphere, sky dive to the ground.

Here’s a look at No Man’s Sky’s Voyagers update.Watch on YouTube

While newcomers to No Man’s Sky won’t have immediate access to Corvette construction given its unlock requirements, they’ll still be able to experience the feature in a brand-new limited-time Expedition. Alongside the usual array of cosmetic rewards, this’ll also unlock some ship parts players might find useful when trying to build their own vehicles in the core sim.

Hello Games says it’s had to rework “almost every part” of No Man’s Sky to accommodate Corvettes and their relative spaces, and to ensure crews can still roam their ship’s corridors and continue editing during the likes of warp jumps and planetary approaches. Much of the tech, it says, is shared with its upcoming Light No Fire, which will feature vast oceans players can similarly explore together on a single boat. This isn’t the first time No Man’s Sky has adopted technology implemented for Hello Games’ Earth-sized planet sim.

And it sounds like Hello Games is still far from done. “The most exciting thing about Voyagers for me,” writes Hello Games’ boss Sean Murray, “is the possibilities it opens in the future for No Man’s Sky, and I can’t wait to see where the team takes it from here.” And if you want to know more about No Man’s Sky’s Voyagers update, full patch notes can be found over here.

by admin August 27, 2025

It’s back-to-school season in the United States. Is that a holiday worth celebrating with a video game sale? Maybe not, but that hasn’t stopped the folks over at GOG from putting over 7,000 games on sale for the next two weeks.

On August 26, the GOG Back-To-School Sale kicked off, perhaps to taunt children who are about to have a lot less free time. Halo’s Assault Rifle Is Causing Helldivers 2 To Crash

by admin August 27, 2025

Helldivers 2 is putting up huge numbers at the moment, partially thanks to a major collaboration with Halo–but one of the iconic Halo weapons in the ODST Warbond is causing the game to crash. Here’s what we know about the bug and how to avoid it.

The bug has been detailed under known issues in Helldivers 2’s Discord, and concerns the ODST MA5C Assault Rifle. “When on the bridge, if all players equip this weapon from the armory and then the host leaves it will cause your game to crash,” the bug report reads. The crash is currently impacting players on all platforms, and Arrowhead is investigating a fix.

Now Playing: Helldivers 2 x Halo: ODST – Legendary Warbond Gameplay Reveal Trailer

For now, thankfully the crash is not too difficult to get around. To avoid any possibility of this crash ocurring, Arrowhead recommends equipping the ODST from the loadout instead of the armory.

The studio has also notified of another issue impacting Warbonds–Helldivers 2’s equivalent of a battle pass. Arrowhead has warned that players may be unable to spend Super Credits while they are holding onto a Warbond Token. Until the issue is resolved, players will have to choose between saving their Warbond Token for a future Premium Warbond and holding off on purchases, or using it on a current Warbond they don’t own yet and spending Super Credits as usual.

The Halo: ODST Warbond was Helldivers 2’s first “Legendary Warbond,” rewarding players with more items than a standard one–including four weapons, two armor sets, and plenty more. The Halo crossover dropped on the same day as Helldivers 2’s Xbox launch, a combination that has brought a lot of new and returning players to the game.

Paradox are “making adjustments” to Bloodlines 2’s day-one vampire clan DLC plans, following backlash

by admin August 27, 2025

Well, there you go. Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 publisher Paradox look like they might be sticking a stake in their rather unpopular plans to sell two of the game’s vampire clans as paid day-one DLC. I say “might be” because nothing specific’s been committed to yet, beyond some nebulous making of “adjustments ahead of launch” in response to fan feedback on the gating-off of Lasombra and Toreador bloodsuckers.

In case you missed the announcement of these two clans being packed away into the £18.69/€21.99/$21.99 coffin of Bloodlines’ Shadows and Silk DLC pack, it came right as the long-in-the-works RPG got a fresh trailer and what should hopefully be its final release date. The only ways to get the clans were to buy that pack on top of the base game, or splash out £74.99/€89.99/$89.99 for the premium edition.

On the Bloodlines 2 Discord last night, World of Darkness community developer DebbieElla emerged from the shadows with what looks like the first inkling of an impending change. “We are listening to your feedback about the Lasombra and Toreador clan access, and we’re making adjustments ahead of launch to reflect this,” she wrote. “We will share more information about what this means as soon as possible.”

That was it, aside from a line promoting a livestream on World of Darkness’ Twitch channel at 4PM BST / 5PM CEST / 11AM ET today, August 27th, which I only mention here in case it turns out to be the place Paradox share that promised info.

Up to this announcement, Paradox and Bloodlines developers The Chinese Room had been sticking by the call to paywall the two clans. Our James grilled them about it at Gamescom, and the response was along the lines of the Toreador and Lasombra being additional work on top of The Chinese Room’s original plans for the game, so therefore fine to charge extra for.

“We’ve made a huge amount of changes over that time, based on that cycle, if you like, including a massive amount of story content and features and all the rest of it. So we have been expanding it from where we originally planned to land it, I think, constantly, and Paradox have been really good when we go, or when the clients go, or when Paradox go: ‘We should add a bit more here. Let’s push the date back.’ As you know, the date has pushed back, but that has been to fatten it out into something that we feel does land where the players want it,” Bloodlines 2 narrative director Ian Thomas told us.

Meanwhile, project design director Jey Hicks insisted that this ‘extra’ stuff is “not all, like, just fluff that we’re chucking in”. We’ll have to see what these promised “adjustments” look like, but a complete u-turn would rightly miff folks who’ve already pre-ordered the premium edition because it includes these extra clans. We’ll let you know when Paradox reveal exactly how they’re pulling their feet out of all this deathhound doo-doo.

League of Legends 25.17 Patch notes

by admin August 27, 2025

League of Legends Patch 25.17 officially marks the start of Season 3, and there’s plenty for the community to explore.

Season 3’s greatest highlight is Xin Zhao, along with a fresh battle pass with plenty of rewards. There are plenty of buffs and nerfs, along with the return of the regular Summoner’s Rift map. With new builds for your favorite characters and plenty to master, let’s look at all the key changes.

Complete League of Legends 25.17 Patch notes

The new patch officially commences Season 3, and the Act 1 battle pass lets you grind for plenty of valuable rewards. There are 48 levels of rewards to unlock, but you can get more items by completing Repeating Missions once you’re done with the main path. While the pass will allow you to get plenty of resources, this major patch has more key changes.

Season 3 Ranked

The patch officially starts Season 3 Ranked, available on Aug. 27 (server reset time). While ranked LP progression will be retained, you’ll have to grind through the new Victorious Mission to get fresh skin.

Xin Zhao

Xin Zhao has a new model, fresh animations, ability icons, and more. In short, he has been given a new coat of paint while the abilities and role remain the same. However, once the update is live, his Commando and Imperial skins will cost more RP.

Image via Riot Games

You’ll also get to enjoy an updated lore as you go through his development through the different seasons. The events of the third season, just like those of its two predecessors, are all directly connected to the developments of Arcane (for those who enjoyed the Netflix series).

Doom Bots and Trials of Doom

The new patch also marks the return of the Doom Bots mode with certain changes. This PvE gamemode will allow you to take on Veigar and his army. Survive the bots for 15 minutes, and then take on Veigar while protecting your nexus.

While the core gameplay remains the same, there are new bots, curses, and a difficulty level. This version of Domm Bots will also have something called Trials of Doom. Here, you’ll get to enjoy specific challenges required to defeat Veigar. You’ll find different challenges based on the first three patches before they are all reactivated.

The first trial is Veigar’s Evil, where all the boots receive Veigar’s passive: Phenomenal Evil. The enemies will gain Adaptive Force whenever they hit you with a spell, and Veigar’s spells will remain active for the entire time. In short, prepare your dodging spells if you and your allies want to survive the 15 minutes.

League of Legends Patch 25.17 improvements

Riot continues to make new improvements to the gameplay for the community to enjoy, and here are some major ones in the latest patch.

  • Changes to the third-party app policy will prevent you from enjoying a few features from external apps. Some of these features could eventually be added to the official version so that everyone has equal access.
  • Basic and Advanced minimap views allow you to track what’s happening around you. You can view different timers to track what’s emerging in the jungle, and when you should move in for a potential gank on the enemy.
  • Ultimates and recently used spells will be communicated better to help you analyze the gameplay. Any spells targeting you will be pinged and shown to help you understand what happened.
  • Death Recap has been moved out of the way to show how much damage you dealt, your contribution to the fight, and more.

Plenty of updates are being made to the champions in the latest patch, and we will update them soon in this guide.

2XKO’s next character has been revealed early on the Riot Games support website

by admin August 27, 2025

The next character in Riot Games’ upcoming 2v2 fighting game – 2XKO – has been leaked on the official Riot Games support website. We’re going to say who they are in following paragraphs, heads up.

Art for the Blitzcrank was spotted by keen-eyed fans early this morning for the 2XKO, front and centre as both the the star of the banner at the top of the dedicated 2XKO page, as well as the character used on the 2XKO widget when browsing the wider Riot Games support website.

As of writing the art is still live on the support website. Blitzcrank would be the ninth character to come to 2XKO, though no word on when he’ll be implemented has been announced, officially or otherwise.

Here’s the Vi gameplay reveal for 2XKOWatch on YouTube

2XKO is set to launch into closed beta on 9th September, marking the end of a lengthy development journey. In recent months, online sentiment around the game has been tinged somewhat due to a demand for a wider variety of weirder characters. Blitzcrank, a big goofy robot, certainly fits the freakier category.

There’s a hint of irony here, given one of League of Legends’ most legendary support champions being revealed early via the support website. As for when we’ll see Blitzcrank revealed properly? Well, one would hope that with official Riot Games websites locked and loaded with official assets, it could be around the corner, but that’s entirely speculation. Who knows, maybe he’ll be a surprise addition to the closed beta?

What do you think of Blitzcrank? Let us know.

Skate 4 Is Finally Launching On Consoles & PC In September

by admin August 27, 2025

Electronic Arts and developers Full Circle announced that after years of waiting and fans begging for a new game, the upcoming Skate reboot will launch in September in early access on consoles and PC.

On August 26, EA posted a short trailer for the next Skate game, which is confusingly just titled Skate, and finally confirmed an early access release date. Previously, the publisher had teased that it would be out sometime this year and later promised it would be out this summer. But now we know that the new, online-only Skate reboot is launching on September 16. Mark your calendars and set aside some time to kickflip. Or crash. You’ll probably be crashing a lot.  Here’s the new trailer:

We are so hyped to announce that skate. will release in Early Access September 16th, 2025. See you in San Vansterdam! 🛹 pic.twitter.com/3tR3onovwb

— skate. (@skate) August 26, 2025

This new Skate reboot will be an online-only multiplayer-focused open-world adventure featuring over 100 songs and up to 150 players skating together in a single session. The game is set in San Vansterdam, a city built from the ground up by EA and Open Circle to be the dream playground for all skateboarders.

It’s been a long wait for this new Skate game. EA first revealed it was working on a new Skate in 2020 after years of fans begging them to make it. Since then, the game has been leaked a few times, and EA has put out early, unfinished footage of Skate as part of a plan to be more transparent about the open-world skateboarding game’s development. Skate has also been playtested by fans in the lead-up to its launch. The new Skate arrives on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on September 16.

Romancing SaGa 2 Gets Major Price Cut For PS5 And Switch

by admin August 27, 2025

Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven is on sale for only $30 for Nintendo Switch and PS5 at Amazon this week. Though not technically part of Amazon’s Labor Day Sale, the retailer is matching deals offered in competitor promotions, and the fully rebuilt remake of this Square Enix classic is one of them.

Nintendo Switch 2 owners can buy the Switch physical edition for $30 and purchase the official upgrade from the eShop for $10. The Switch 2 edition is $50 on the eShop, so you’re still saving 10 bucks overall with the physical edition.

Romancing SaGa 2 Remake Deals — $30 ($50)

$30 (was $50)

The impressive remake of the Super Famicom JRPG released last October. In a year filled with great JRPGs, Romancing SaGa 2 flew a bit under the radar, but Square Enix’s lovingly crafted turn-based RPG is a unique experience that’s well-worth the roughly 40-60 hours it takes to complete the mainline campaign.

Romancing SaGa 2 is a ground-up remake of the 1993 Super Famicom classic. An HD remaster of the original launched in 2017, but the remake introduces full 3D graphics and overhauls the turn-based battle system to match the new “timeline” system featured in recent titles like SaGa Emerald Beyond. There are also a few quality of life updates to make the game more approachable for new players, including multiple difficulty options.

You play as members of a royal family who need to fight to maintain control of their empire and curb world-ending threats. In addition to a deep and nuanced battle system, Romancing SaGa 2 also boasts an entire castle building mechanics where you construct and manage fortresses around your kingdom. Like other games in the series, where you go, who you talk to, and which side quests you complete can have drastic changes on how the story unfolds. It’s a surprisingly open-ended experience, even by modern standards, and the lovely remake is the perfect opportunity to give it a go, or revisit it and try for an entirely different story path.

The remake earned an 8/10 in our Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven review.

$30 (was $50)

If you have a PS5 and Nintendo Switch 1/2, the PS5 version looks and runs better, but Revenge of the Seven is a solid experience on Nintendo handhelds. On original Switch, it runs at a fairly stable 30fps with 720p resolution in handheld mode and 1080p when docked. Load times can feel a bit long in some instances, and you may experience some brief frame rate dips.

As mentioned, Square Enix released a dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game at the end of July. Priced the same as the original, the Switch 2 edition is only available on the eShop. That said, those who own a physical copy for Switch can purchase the Switch 2 Upgrade Pack for $10.

The Switch 2 edition is markedly better from a visual and performance perspective. It maxes out at 1440p resolution and 60fps when playing in docked mode. In handheld mode, you can play in 1080p resolution. Along with visual improvements, Switch 2 users get faster load times.

The Switch and Switch 2 versions aren’t the only options for playing on a portable device. Romancing SaGa 2 is also Steam Deck-verified. You can save 15% on a Steam key with promo code AUG15 at Green Man Gaming.

$45 | Releases December 9

SaGa fans can also preorder the upcoming physical edition of Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song Remastered International for PS5 and Nintendo Switch. This superb remaster originally released in 2022 on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile.

Like Romancing SaGa 2, the boxed version of Minstrel Song Remastered is only available on PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Square Enix partnered with publisher Red Art Games to bring the new physical edition to stores.

Romancing SaGa Remastered International is slated to launch December 9. If you’re interested in adding a copy to your RPG collection, it’d probably be wise to preorder this one, as it’s likely to have a small print run.

Preorders for the Nintendo Switch and PS5 physical editions are available for $45 at Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

If you’re looking for more deals on role-playing games, major retailers are offering nice discounts on a variety of other hits and recent releases. Multiple other notable Square Enix releases are on sale, including Final Fantasy I-VI Collection Anniversary Edition for $30 off, the reprint of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade for PS5 for $30, and the Amazon-exclusive version of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for $40.

Another Square Enix JRPG that didn’t receive as much attention as it deserved is Fantasian Neo Dimension. First released back in 2021 as an Apple Arcade game, Fantasian is a turn-based RPG from Mistwalker, the independent studio founded by original Final Fantasy director Hironobu Sakaguchi. The enhanced console and PC version launched last December for $50; Amazon’s $20 discount is the best yet for Fantasian Neo Dimension.

The SaGa Franchise

Square Enix has been slowly revitalizing the SaGa series over the past few years with remasters, remakes, and brand-new entries in the series, including SaGa Emerald Beyond, the latest new entry in the series. Steam keys for SaGa Emerald Beyond and a bunch of other games in the series are available at Green Man Gaming. With promo code AUG15, you can save 15% on any of the games listed below.

Save 15% with promo code AUG15

While the series started as a Final Fantasy spin-off called Final Fantasy Legend, the SaGa series quickly evolved into its own unique franchise.
