Twin Peaks: From Z To A Complete Series Collection Discounted For Prime Big Deal Days

by admin October 2, 2025

Twin Peaks is one of the most memorable TV series of all time. Created by the late David Lynch, who died earlier this year, Twin Peaks was a hit in both the early ’90s and in 2017 when Showtime revived the groundbreaking series for a third season.

As mentioned, From Z to A is a one-stop shop. You’ll get all 30 episodes of the original two-season run, the aforementioned 1992 prequel film, and the 2017 revival that ran on Showtime for 18 episodes. That’s 48 episodes of superb TV and an awesome feature film in one package.

  • Season 1 (1990) — 8 Episodes
  • Season 2 (1990-91) — 22 Episodes
  • Season 3 (2017) — 18 Episodes
  • Fire Walk with Me (1992) – Prequel movie

You’ll also get a long list of special features, including 4K versions of the original series Pilot episode and Twin Peaks: A Limited Event Series Episode 8. Here’s a look at the highlights:

Twin Peaks: From Z to A Special Features

  • The Missing Pieces: Fire Walk with Me deleted/alternate scenes (90 minutes)
  • Behind The Curtain: Making of Footage From Twin Peaks: A Limited Event Series
  • Full-length versions of all Roadhouse Bar music performances
  • A Talk with Kyle MacLachlan and Sheryl Lee
  • On the Couch with Kimmy and Harry
  • 4K versions of the Original Series Pilot and Twin Peaks: A Limited Event Series Episode 8
  • Additional special features from previous Twin Peaks home releases

In total, that’s over 20 hours of additional Twin Peaks content. It’s worth noting that the packaging for this Twin Peaks: From Z to A reprinting differs from the original 2019 version. The new edition uses a plastic case rather than the premium fold-out box of the original, and it lacks the collectible art prints. This cost-saving measure probably makes producing the sets easier, which hopefully means this reprint run will remain in print longer. It’s no longer a collector’s item like the original release, but it does offer an affordable way to watch the entire series on Blu-ray.

Chess meets roguelike dungeon crawler Below the Crown gets an early access launch date and a demo that’s smarter than me

by admin October 2, 2025

Am I good at chess? I’ll take no for $1500, Alex. But do I love a funky twist on games that are older than time itself? You bet your bottom dollar I do! Enter Below the Crown, a chess video game that is also a roguelike, ,and is also a turn-based strategy game, and is also a dungeon crawler on top of that. It’s a lot! It also works very well, and in a demo that just came out today (alongside an early access release date), there’s a suggestion of something a touch more… unsettling… going on under the hood.

In Below the Crown, you are a wizard who is working to get The Emperor the gold he knows is down in the dungeon below his castle. This wizard version of you places a single king on a chess board in each run, with a selection of other, occasionally remixed versions of classic pieces at your disposal. You slowly add pieces to the board as you try to strategise your way towards taking down opposing kings, adding abilities to your various pieces as you go room by room. Sometimes you’ll be offered the opportunity to buy certain useful cards too, like one that will freeze an enemy piece in place for five turns.

It’s chess! And it’s not chess. The important thing is that the essence of the age-old game is there, that feeling of thinking where you’re going to place which piece where, albeit in a refreshingly different way. Though, it definitely is a game that is smarter than me, at least when it comes to chess, because I really would like to stress I’m pants at actual chess. Still fun though! And then there’s the creepy bits.

In between rounds, you might get asked to do things like placing a marker on a graph that reads loneliness on the Y axis and anxiety on the X axis. Upon beating a run I was asked to rank my pieces based on how I felt about them, and was then questioned on my choices afterwards. Methinks there is a bit more than just retro, roguelike chess going on here, and I’m curious to find out more.

Which I’ll be able to do soonish! As developer Misfits Attic (who also made Duskers) shared that Below the Crown will be launching into early access next month, November 10th. Better keep practicing at regular chess in the meantime so I don’t totally suck at this twisted video game version of it.

You can wishlist Below the Crown on Steam here.

Malys, A Deckbuilder From The Stray Gods Team, Enters 1.0 Later This Month

by admin October 2, 2025

Summerfall Studios (a developer founded in part by Dragon Age writer David Gaider) made its debut with Stray Gods, a musical game starring modern-day adaptations of the ancient Greek pantheon. Its next game, Malys, is a massive departure in both tone and gameplay. Earlier this April, Summerfall announced a Kickstarter for this new project, but unfortunately, it failed to reach its funding goal. However, the game still entered early access this past June, and now, just a few months later, it’s hitting 1.0, launching on Steam on October 24.

This deckbuilder tells the story of Noah, a demon hunter, on his quest to slay the Malys, an evil creature with the city in a chokehold. The game’s combat encounters are exorcisms, and you’ll play and burn cards in order to expose demons’ true names and expel them from their hosts. According to a blogpost on Summerfall’s website, the 1.0 update will also include “cloud saves, a fully playable story, all three regions and the final boss fight, as well as a full scale music update across the game.”

The blog post also mentions that the price will increase slightly at launch, so if you’re interested in grabbing it cheaper (it’s currently $9.99 in the US), make sure to do so before October 24.

More action than RPG, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 struggles to convince after a few hours' play

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 voice cast revealed, includes Returnal’s Jane Perry and Still Wakes the Deep’s Alec Newman

by admin October 1, 2025

Paradox and The Chinese Room have revealed the voice cast performing in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, the action role-playing game which is barely a month away now. The game releases on 21st October.

The actors for all major and notable characters have been named, and feature the likes of Jane Perry, known for her BAFTA-winning performance in Returnal, and Alec Newman, who won a BAFTA this year for his performance in Still Wakes the Deep.

Watch on YouTube

The full list of names given in the trailer are:

  • Female Phyre (the player character): Tommy Sim’aan
  • Male Phyre (the player character): Hara Yannas
  • Fabien: Ronan Summers
  • Lou Graham: Jane Perry
  • Michael “Tolly” Tolliver: David Menkin
  • Safia Ulusoy: Amrita Acharia
  • Ryong Choi: Kae Alexander
  • Katsumi Ishizaka: Elizabeth Chan
  • Ysabella Moore: Joan Iyola
  • Fletcher: Rufus Wright
  • Mrs. Amelia Thorn: Bethan Dixon Bate
  • Simeon “Silky” Ladock: Alan Turkington
  • Niko Angelov: Martin Razpopov
  • Patience Boswell: Billy Peck
  • Onda Cardoso: Jamilya Ocasio
  • Max Webber: Osy Ikhile
  • Willem Axel: Richard Brake
  • Benny Muldoon: Patrick O’Kane
  • Bet of Night: Amanda Huddleston
  • Gideon Hall: Alec Newman

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has had a turbulent development and a rocky road to release, courtesy of questionable paid-DLC plans that were subsequently reversed (the playable clans that were going to be charged for are now included in the base game) and an unconvincing preview showing.

For all it might lack the RPG depth that followers of the Bloodlines series might want, and that players of the tabletop Vampire: The Masquerade game might want, Bloodlines 2 does appear to have good production values and strong cinematic character performances. Let’s hope it turns okay.

Peacemaker Fortnite Dance Will Come Back Different After Nazi Concerns

by admin October 1, 2025

Peacemaker’s dance emote will return to Fortnite now that Epic Games is satisfied it had nothing to do with Nazi imagery. Following the reveal of the HBO show’s recent season 2 twist, the company implied it was concerned the dance moves intentionally recreated a swastika. The emote will now return next week, with modified animations.

“We’ve worked closely with our partners at Warner Bros. Games to confirm there were no creative intentions to connect the Peaceful Hips Emote and the current Peacemaker storyline,” the Fortnite account on X posted on Wednesday. “To avoid any confusion, we’re modifying the Emote choreography in next week’s update. If they prefer, players can return the Emote without using a ticket.”

https://t.co/ial5jDTIFI pic.twitter.com/CnsrL8QL7t

— Leryensu (@iLegendTz) October 1, 2025

Spoiler warning: we’re about to mention some major plot points from Peacemaker season 2.

This whole thing started after the alternate universe that John Cena’s Chris Smith has been exploring this season was revealed to be one in which Hitler’s Germany won WWII and America is now run by Nazis. If you then went back and looked at the  dance in the Peaceful Hips Fortnite emote, which is supposed to be the one Cena does in the season 2 intro, you can sort of see that maybe there’s a swastika in there somewhere if you overlay multiple freeze frames.

Epic Games then pulled the emote and said it would investigate to see if this had been done by someone at Warner Bros. on purpose. It seems the company is now satisfied that it was just an unintended coincidence. But what fans really want to know is if the dance will actually sync up to the music this time the way it’s choreographed in the show. We’ll know when the emote returns during Fortnite‘s reset next week on October 9.

Black Ops 7 Multiplayer Avoids The CoD Fatigue, But Warzone Falls A Step Back

by admin October 1, 2025

With Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Treyarch is going back-to-back with Black Ops releases. The new game brings a futuristic setting for multiplayer, the largest round-based Zombies map ever, and a new Resurgence map for Warzone called Haven’s Hollow. GameSpot went hands-on with Black Ops 7 during Call of Duty: Next, and while the jump into the future does enough to distinguish the multiplayer from last year’s offering, and the latest iteration of Zombies creates a new experience, Warzone’s upcoming integration currently falls flat for Black Ops 7.

Futuristic and refined multiplayer

I’ve always believed that Call of Duty was at its best with a rotating developer cycle. I liked flip-flopping between developers and the different series within Call of Duty. Going from Modern Warfare to Black Ops was refreshing because the different teams each introduced different styles, modes, and features to their takes on the game, lessening the yearly “CoD fatigue.”

Now Playing: Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 | Multiplayer Gameplay Reveal Trailer

So, with another Black Ops title coming so soon, my biggest concern was how Treyarch would make Black Ops 7 feel fresh enough. I didn’t want another year that felt like more of the exact same, because we already lived through that with back-to-back Modern Warfare titles. Thankfully, I can happily report that Black Ops 7 does enough to remain an invigorating multiplayer experience.

Taking Black Ops out of the ’90s of last year’s entry and into the year 2035 does a lot to change how multiplayer feels. Treyarch leans into the tech of this future, providing more interesting scorestreaks such as the dog-like robot called the D.A.W.G. and the Rhino, which is a robotic take on Call of Duty’s juggernaut enemy type from previous games.

Loadouts can also be equipped with other tech and gadgets from the future to further differentiate Black Ops 7 from its predecessor. There are field upgrades that let you launch drones, temporarily cloak yourself, and even place decoy holograms of your operator to trick your enemy. These aren’t new mechanics in Call of Duty, but we haven’t seen equipment like this since the days of the high-tech jetpack games, and they add immersion to Black Ops 7’s futuristic warfare.

Treyarch also enhanced the omnimovement system introduced in Black Ops 6, making the movement faster, more fluid, and oftentimes flashier. The team removed the tactical sprint (you now need a specific perk to use it), increased the base movement speed, and added a wall jump. On paper, these changes to omnimovement seem minimal, but the adjustments do feel impactful. Wall jumps can be chained together, and these hops can be used to reach windows and other areas not previously accessible in boots-on-the-ground Call of Duty games.

During my hands-on time, I was able to perform a few fancy wall jumps where I could tap the wall, giving me extra height, and then spin around in the air to catch an opponent off guard. I could also toss a stun grenade into a window to daze a sniper, and then wall jump high enough to reach and eliminate them, which is a play the previous game’s movement didn’t allow for. I’m not super savvy with advanced movement, so there will be players who perform much more impressive plays, but it does give you more options on how you approach areas of the maps, as well as your gunfights. This also may or may not sound like a huge feature to some, but fundamentally impacting the moment-to-moment gameplay in this way can really freshen things up for Black Ops 7.

The maps I played were also large enough to give space for pulling off these over-the-top action moves. One complaint I ended up having in Black Ops 6 was that most of the maps were on the smaller side, with a focus on chaotic and in-your-face action, but the Black Ops 7 maps we played gave me much more room to breathe. These aren’t huge designs, but they are all medium-sized Call of Duty maps.

In an interview with Treyarch associate design director Matt Scronce, and senior director of production Yale Miller, the developers explained how this year’s maps were meant to feel more like classic maps inspired by Black Ops 2.

“The big things we talk about with map design are being fair and fun,” Miller said. “It’s also because this is a spiritual successor to Black Ops 2, so it’s really leaning into those core beliefs on three-lane maps. Each lane needs a really clear purpose. If one side has a power position, there should probably also be a power position on the other side.”

Forge was easily my favorite multiplayer map. We played Domination on Forge, which is set at a Guild research and development center. There are two large wings of the facility to fight indoors, and the B flag for Domination is located outside at the center hub of the map. Uniquely, the B flag is surrounded by sections of cover that continuously rotate around the point. This center hub provided a lot of interesting opportunities while fighting for B. Sometimes the rotating cover would move at just the right time to expose an enemy, while other times it would catch me off-guard and leave me vulnerable. There are also exterior building walls that curve around this center hub, giving plenty of opportunity for those flashy wall-jump plays.

Forge was also the map the developers said proved to be most challenging.

“Not from a sheer design point, but just everything that went into it,” Miller said. “There is rotating cover, and like, how is that going to work?”

The map is also complicated from a technical standpoint, he said.

“There’s a lot of glass. Glass canopies and other stuff,” Miller explained. “To make the map look right when light is coming through the glass, you need reflection and refraction, so it drops a little bit of shade.”

Scronce and Miller also confirmed that last year’s training grounds would return in Black Ops 7 to give you a safe place to practice the game’s updated omnimovement. Black Ops 7’s training takes place on Forge, and the map’s design makes a great location to practice wall jumps and other moves, as this was the map that provided me the most real estate and opportunity for performing these actions.

There is also an intelligent movement setting in Black Ops 7 that helps you with the wall jump.

“It’s listed as a wall jump assist in your movement settings,” Scronce said. “Then, you can jump at the wall, and it will wall jump for you.”

This, combined with the practice map, should help players like me improve their movement skills.

Most of the standard Call of Duty weapons, perks, and attachments remain in Black Ops 7, so it was the map design, refined movement, and future tech that sold the multiplayer for me. I had a blast wall-jumping and launching drones into the air, and I look forward to trying out the rest of the map pool at launch.

The Wonder Vehicle changes the Zombies experience

Black Ops 7 introduces Ashes of the Damned, the largest round-based Zombies map ever, but this time the design is more road-like than that of a standard map. It’s inspired by Black Ops 2’s Tranzit and features a figure-eight layout with separate chunks of map locations that are all connected by dangerous stretches of road. In Tranzit, you navigated the roads via a bus that would continuously loop around the map, but Ashes of the Damned puts you in the driver seat of Ol’ Tessie, the map’s new Wonder Vehicle. Tessie is an old junker of a truck that you gain access to at the start of your match, and you can drive and upgrade the vehicle on your journey.

Design director Kevin Drew and lead game designer Steve Bianchi explained that Ashes of the Damned was specifically designed around Tessie.

“We created it around the vehicle,” Bianchi said. “The scale of the map matches having a vehicle as a core element to the map. It’s the fifth member of your squad.

“The fog and the roads between are treacherous to travel, so we wanted those to be very streamlined but also really cool for the vehicle to travel,” Bianchi continued.

In my short time with Zombies, I did get to ride around in Tessie, and it was very satisfying to run over the hordes of zombies in my path. I didn’t get to experience the full upgrades available, but I did get to the portion of the map where you can upgrade the vehicle to include a Pack-a-Punch machine. That’s right: The truck becomes a moving Pack-a-Punch machine, and you can upgrade your weapons on the fly.

If you decide to take the roads on foot, you’re met with a fast-moving enemy type called Ravengers. These creatures swarm you and make it difficult to proceed, so it’s a lot safer to travel with Tessie. It also made for awkward and tense moments when our vehicle was destroyed while traversing these roads. Enemies and crashes can cause enough damage to disable the Wonder Vehicle, and while Treyarch told us there was a way to repair Tessie, we didn’t figure that part out.

Like other Zombies maps, Ashes of the Damned features a main storyline quest, a unique Wonder Weapon, and plenty of mysteries to uncover. Features like Wall Buys, GobbleGums, and the iconic Mystery Box return. I also appreciate that Treyarch isn’t drip-feeding the perks to us this year. Black Ops 6 started with a small selection, and each seasonal update expanded the list of perks. Black Ops 7 includes all the perks available in Black Ops 6 and introduces a new perk called Wisp Tea. I didn’t get to try this perk out for myself, but it spawns a spectral orb-like protector to help you fight off zombies.

In addition to being the largest round-based map, Ashes of the Damned also includes the largest cast yet. The map features eight playable characters: the crew of four from Black Ops 6, as well as the iconic cast of Takeo, Dempsey, Nikolai, and Richtofen. You can mix and match any of these characters for up to four-player co-op. They all have unique voice lines, and Drew said some dialogue will depend on which characters are included in your party. Much of the character dialogue was blocked from our hands-on session, as Treyarch wanted to preserve the story elements for the full launch, but I am excited to see where Tessie and this new story will take me in Black Ops 7.

Warzone lacks meaningful changes

Black Ops 7 will integrate with Warzone during Season 1. A date hasn’t been confirmed for this first post-launch update, but the content will include map changes for Verdansk and a new Resurgence map called Haven’s Hollow.

Due to the popularity of Verdansk, I’m not surprised the developer is bringing it back as Warzone’s big map battle royale. However, I am surprised by how uninspiring the map’s changes proved to be in our hands-on session.

The Season 1 update will add two POIs: Factory and Signal Station. Factory is a large factory-style building next to Superstore, and it’s a very forgettable location. Signal Station is a little more interesting as it offers objectives you can complete in order to get rewarded with extra intel. Completing the objectives will upgrade your Tac Map to reveal enemy density for a portion of the map. The Tac Map will highlight quadrants in orange or red based on how populated those areas are. Intel is always handy, and maybe this will become a hot spot for players, but ultimately my time on this version of Verdansk played the same as any other match pre-integration.

The season’s new map is a smaller one for Resurgence. Haven’s Hollow is set in the same town as Black Ops 6’s Zombies mode. Of course, this version of Liberty Falls is designed pre-outbreak, meaning there are no Zombies elements or destruction here; this is just a quaint West Virginia town. It does include the church, bowling alley, bank, and other major points of interest, but the playable area also extends beyond the areas within the Zombies maps.

Haven’s Hollow is a vibrant map, and it’s filled with rich color not often seen in a Warzone map. I do appreciate the effort to make this map easy on the eyes, and I wish other maps had been this colorful, but unfortunately, it’s not a memorable location to fight for a victory royale. Liberty Falls was the least interesting of all the Zombies maps, and when you take away the Zombies elements, it feels even truer for Warzone . A boring ’90s version of West Virginia feels like another missed opportunity to do something futuristic and fitting of the Black Ops 7 theme. Of course, this was just my initial impression after a few matches on Haven’s Hollow, so maybe this map will grow on me with time, but it lacks any initial wow factor.

It would’ve been nice to see a futuristic new map or an upgraded version of Verdansk with new lighting and robots to fit the Black Ops 7 theme. Warzone’s yearly integration with a new title usually brings something new or fresh-feeling, but this is definitely the battle royale’s most uninspiring yearly update yet.

Treyarch did announce the return of Black Ops 4’s popular Blackout battle royale mode on the Avalon map. This new Blackout battle royale experience won’t arrive until sometime in Spring 2026, and we didn’t get to play or learn any details about the mode at Call of Duty: Next. While Warzone is leaving me disappointed and wanting a whole lot more, I am excited to see what the return of Blackout looks like in Black Ops 7. I just hate that we’ll be waiting long after launch to play it.

Final thoughts

Warzone really missed the mark with uninspired maps, and it doesn’t bring anything new to the table. Fans like myself will likely need to wait until the springtime to get any major or impactful changes to battle royale, and that is a huge disappointment for the yearly integration. However, multiplayer and Zombies content make me excited for the full launch of Black Ops 7. Redefined omnimovement makes the game even more satisfying to play, and if the rest of the maps have the same quality as the ones I sampled at Call of Duty: Next, it can be another enjoyable and action-filled year for Black Ops.

Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault isn’t closing up shop, but it has received a small delay out of a busy October

by admin October 1, 2025

There just doesn’t seem to be a good time to release a game right now, does there? We all saw the way that Hollow Knight: Silksong scared away plenty of games, even games with completely different genres. And sometimes it’s just a case of a particular month being stacked – just this month alone there’s Ghost of Yotei, Battlefield 6, Pokemon Legends Z-A, Ninja Gaiden 4, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, Dispatch, Arc Raiders, the list truly goes on. So, I really can’t blame developer Digital Sun, who’ve announced that Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault has been delayed.

The developer shared word of said delay in a Steam news post earlier today, as the game was originally slated for release October 23rd, later this month. But, as they note, “the month has filled up with so many other great releases that we feel it has become too crowded for us. And as every wise shopkeeper knows, even the most precious gem can be overlooked in an overstuffed showcase.” So now, you can expect the game to launch on November 19th, a little more than a month later.

As a little bonus to make up for the delay, Digital Sun will also be running some closed playtests to let you try the game out, in particular to get a feel for some of the changes made based on community feedback. More details on that are coming soon, apparently.

Moonlighter 2 looks like it’s picking up where the original game left things off, gameplay wise at least, having now been transported to the realm of 3D. Based on an interview between the devs and TheGamer earlier this year, you can also expect it to fully lean into being a roguelike, which admittedly is a bit of an oversaturated genre right now. Fingers crossed the still fun concept of having to plunge into dungeons to stock your own shop is strong enough to find success this time around too!

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Is Getting An Overhaul And A 50 Percent Price Increase

by admin October 1, 2025

After a few years in a console’s life cycle, its common to see dips in price for its older games and hardware, but in 2025, the opposite has been true. The latest culprit of the rising cost of gaming is Xbox Game Pass, which we learned today would be getting new features, but a massive increase in monthly fees. Ultimate, the highest tier of the service, will cost 50 percent more, going from $19.99 a month to $29.99 a month. A breakdown of the new tiers is included below.

Game Pass Essential (formerly Core)- $9.99 a month

  • 50+ games now playable on PC, console, and cloud
  • Unlimited Cloud Gaming
  • In-game benefits, including for Riot Games
  • Online console multiplayer
  • Play and earn up to $25 a year in the Store with Rewards

Game Pass Premium (formerly Standard) – $14.99 a month

  • 200+ games now playable on PC, console, and cloud
  • New Xbox-published games within a year of launch
  • Unlimited cloud gaming with shorter wait times
  • In-game benefits, including for Riot Games
  • Online console multiplayer
  • Play and earn up to $50 a year in the Store with Rewards

Game Pass Ultimate – $29.99 a month

  • 400+ games now playable on PC, console, and cloud
  • 75+ day one games a year, including all Xbox-published games day one
  • Ubisoft+ Classics and EA Play included, with Fortnite Crew coming in November
  • Unlimited cloud gaming at our best quality, with the shortest wait times
  • In-game benefits, including for Riot Games
  • Online console multiplayer
  • Play and earn up to $100 a year in the Store with Rewards

Xbox justifies the increase with a new lineup of upgrades. An Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription now includes Ubisoft+ Classics (a $7/month fee that includes access to select Ubisoft games) and Fortnite Crew (which offers monthly skins and V-Bucks), along with an upgraded version of Xbox’s cloud gaming service. It also retains its previous benefits, including day 1 releases, a library of 400 games, EA Play, and online gaming.

Lower tiers, however, are relatively unchanged, save for their names: Game Pass Standard is now Game Pass Premium, but remains $14.99 a month, while Game Pass Core, now Game Pass Essential, is still $9.99. New games also come to each service today; you can read that full list here.

Just last year, Game Pass Ultimate increased in price from $16.99 to its current $19.99, and that change was signaled two months in advance – these latest changes go into effect today. This also comes following last week’s news that Xbox’s ROG Ally handhelds will be $599.99 and $999.99, and two weeks after we learned Xbox consoles are getting their second price increase this year.

The Internet Reacts To The Big Xbox Game Pass Price Hike

by admin October 1, 2025

Because raising prices for its console wasn’t enough, Xbox is also raising the price of its Xbox Game Pass subscription by a whopping 50 percent. The service, which gives people access to a large library of games for a monthly fee, has long been considered one of the best deals in gaming, especially for people who don’t want to buy dozens of games a year. You could theoretically just subscribe to Game Pass and have something new to play every month as games rotate in and out of its catalog. Well, today Microsoft announced it would be raising the price for the Ultimate tier from $20 to $30 a month.

Along with the hefty price increase, the Ultimate tier is getting a lot of new games and perks, including the Ubisoft+ catalog and a Fortnite crew membership that gives you battle pass access and in-game currency every month. The other tiers are also going up in price, and will now include cloud gaming access and an expanded library. The PC Game Pass package, however, is going up from $12 to $16.50 with no new perks. Xbox frames this as a move toward flexibility and choice, but ultimately, Game Pass’ claim to fame has always been its affordability, and now that its price is going up, the internet has feelings and jokes loaded up.

When I said i wanted the 360 era back, I didn’t mean $360 a year.

From the people that brought you the $650 five-year-old Xbox Series X and the $1000 handheld gaming PC, comes…

$30 per month for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate! WHO’S EXCITED??? /s

We went from $17 to $30 in 14 months, LOL.https://t.co/wcud6Grgly

there’s still no annual subscription for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. That means it’s $360 a year, which is more than the Xbox Series S ($300) when it first launched 🤯

The page to cancel Game Pass subscriptions is broken already, incredible https://t.co/qTWLQRWRBs pic.twitter.com/yZjRCMGosk

Xbox Game Pass for 30 bucks? Are they insane? These price hikes on game pass, consoles, and games themselves are just pricing people OUT of gaming. No more “I’ll give it a try” because of these prices. Absolutely wild to see how bad it’s become, and prices will never go down.

Xbox gamers realising they might actually have to buy games now pic.twitter.com/LqVlzxPpsa

The Xbox brand has gotten a lot more expensive in just the past few weeks, with the company raising the prices of Xbox Series X/S consoles and announcing that the most powerful version of the Rog Ally X handheld will cost a staggering $1000. If that price wasn’t high enough, scalpers are already trying to sell the thing for twice as much, despite the handheld being readily available elsewhere.
