Cyberpunk 2077’s latest patch disengages autodrive’s sticky handbrake and gives it a pass to run every red light

by admin September 11, 2025

CD Projekt have rolled out a fresh Cyberpunk 2077 patch with fixes and tweaks for some of update 2.3’s additions. The most noteworthy is what sounds like a pretty hefty revamp of how the autodrive function goes about conveying your ride from A to B.

If you missed it arriving back in July, update 2.3 was the final set of new stuff CD Projekt plan to add to the first Cyberpunk, a game they’ve been physically unable to stop themselves from delving back into over the past couple of years, despite Cyberpunk 2 having been in the works for a little while now. To be fair, most of its contents were vehicle and photo mode-related, with the autodrive function and similar Delamain taxi system heaflining alongside some new rides.

As you might guess from this patch 2.31’s notes, autodrive’s a feature that’s come with a few kinks for anyone who’s tried it. I’ve been able to rely pretty well on it to get me where I want to go in the on-and-off Cyberpunk playthrough I’ve had going for about a month now, but it has suffered from constantly jamming the brakes on in a very jarring fashion, as well as occasionally getting stuck or rear ending some poor fellow in a tiny Makigai MaiMai.

The devs have clearly been at work on those hangups, writing that as of this patch: “When driving to a selected point, the vehicle now drives smoothly, overtakes blocking vehicles, and no longer stops at traffic lights. Free Roam mode has also been upgraded to follow traffic rules and navigate the city more reliably.” Sounds great, assuming other traffic have been se to automatically give way at junctions, otherwise there’ll be a rise in Kiroshi dashcam footage of Thortons being t-boned in the near future.

Patch 2.31 for Cyberpunk 2077 is being rolled out on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Mac and Nintendo Switch 2!

This update includes an AutoDrive upgrade and Photo Mode adjustments. It also addresses common issues encountered by players. For details, check the full list of… pic.twitter.com/Jdpx1DI4V5

Aside from that, there are some fixes for the quests surrounding update 2.3 vehicles like the Semimaru and Muramasa, as well as on that saw Johnny Silverhand always spawn in the passenger seat when using the Delamain Cabs. He’s always been in back for me, so I must have gotten lucky.

Moving to photo mode, CD Projekt have made “most” of the character poses added update 2.3 work with folks of any gender and disabled NPC collision in the mode. That collision removal’s in an effort to “make it easier to position NPCs on top of other objects with collision”, such as perching Rogue or Kerry on the bonnet of your car.

The last couple of bits I’ll highlight are PC-specific fixes. One’s for “an issue where NVIDIA Reflex could be disabled while DLSS Frame Generation was enabled, causing the screen to turn pink”, which is an equally hilarious and horrifying hardware happening. The second’s for path tracing not activating properly in “certain scenarios”.

Obviously, patches are the enemy of load orders, so it’s worth checking or waiting for mod updates if you don’t fancy disabling the likes of this story-driven rent system if you’ve got them installed. Don’t want the landlord selfies being borked next time you chip in, you know?

Parents: the new PlayStation Family App is out, and there are excellent opportunities for inter-family trolling

by admin September 11, 2025

Sony has released a new PlayStation Family App on iOS and Android, giving you more – and more immediate – control over a number of aspects of your child’s gaming.

What catches my eye is the ability to manage how much time a child is spending on their PlayStation machine, and to do it dynamically. This means your child has a time balance per day to play, which you can up or down whenever you wish, and you can see how much they have used in real-time. They can even pitch you for more playtime via the app, so you don’t even need to talk to them! You need only approve or decline.

Watch on YouTube

Also useful: real-time notifications that show what they’re playing, spending controls, customisable content filtering, and managing access to social features. And graphs, which are always useful, I think.

“We’re excited to bring an easy way for parents to manage their children’s gaming directly from their mobile devices,” said Sony on the PlayStation Blog. “This is just the beginning with our new mobile app – we’ll plan to continue adding enhancements to the PlayStation Family app to evolve the experience over time.”

This is an ‘In brief’ story. This is part of our vision to bring you all the big news as part of a daily live report.

RFK Jr.’s Comments On Guns And Video Games Are Lethally Stupid

by admin September 11, 2025

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has declared that he believes video games could be a cause of gun violence in America. Speaking to PBS (as spotted by GameSpot), the U.S. health secretary explained that the National Institutes of Health are looking into possible causes for gun violence, during which he named “video games and social media” as likely culprits. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. also believes there’s no connection between HIV and AIDS and that fluoride in the water causes IQ loss.

Blaming video games for real-world violence is about as old as video games themselves. Despite this, no reputable studies have ever shown any link between violent games and significant increases in violent behavior in those who play them, and there has never been a credible example of a school shooting directly influenced by playing a game. The causes of real-world violence are already incredibly well known: socioeconomic inequity, social service inequality, a lack of mental health support, and the widespread availability of guns without appropriate laws to restrict their use, among other things. These, however, are all areas unpopular with right-leaning governments, and as such other scapegoats have always been sought.

“The firearms question is a complex question,” RFK Jr. eventually managed to splutter out when PBS asked whether there was any discussion over access to firearms and children’s mental health. He then went on a deeply disturbing tangent about how school shootings only started in the 1990s, and in his day kids were encouraged to bring guns to school and nothing bad ever happened. This is, of course, entirely untrue. Given RFK steered things to the subject of schools, let’s look at that specifically:  School shootings already frighteningly ubiquitous in the 1950s, and by the time RFK was in school in the 1960s, the United States saw 100 school shootings across the decade. The number for the 1990s was 123, so while worse, not enormously so. The horrific shooting at Columbine High School in 1999, where 16 students were murdered, certainly brought a lot of attention to school shootings because of its awful scale. But it wasn’t representative of a change in the decade, and it also wasn’t the start of a new era. In 2000, a still tragic total of six people died in school shootings across the entire year, and in 2001, five. It wouldn’t be until 2007 and the hideous Virginia Tech shootings that anything on that scale was seen again. And after this point, it started to become more common.

In the first decade of the 2000s, the total number of deaths in fact dropped to 87, and it was really from 2010 onward that the rate of school shootings began to rapidly escalate. 263 in the 2010s and already 216 in just the first five years of this decade. Deflecting to the ’90s is not only dishonest, but demonstrative of the Trump government’s (and many previous governments’) lack of interest in properly exploring the issues, at a time when the numbers of school shootings are now doubling every decade.

In the press conference, Kennedy makes a point that the left has been yelling for decades, not least following Michael Moore’s 1999 documentary Bowling for Columbine: that other countries have comparable levels of gun ownership, but where mass shootings are all but non-existent. He even cites that the U.S. has a mass shooting every 23 hours. These are figures Republicans often wish to deny, usually at the behest of the NRA, but Kennedy just comes out and says them. But then, with the crushing inevitability of a man who thinks vaccines cause autism and that Black people have stronger immune systems than white people, he followed it up with the most dangerous words imaginable.

“There are many, many things that happen [incoherent word-sounds] that can explain…one is…dependence on…psychiatric drugs,” said the man in charge of the nation’s health. Psychiatric drugs are, of course, in part a preventative measure against violent acts, and obviously in no way at all a cause. But he continues, “There could be a connection with video games, social media [awkward pause], a number of things, and we are looking at that.” He then switches back and says “we are doing studies now, or initiating studies, that look at the correlation and the connection—the potential connection—between over-medicating our kids and this violence. And these other possible co-founders [sic] as well.”

Of course, few people are going to be surprised at this point that Robert Kennedy would come out with a screed of unscientific, conspiratorial gibberish, but it doesn’t get any less frightening for its frequency. The man who recently said that his department was also looking into the dangers of airplane “chemtrails” is obviously an uninformed, deeply stupid person who has no interest in reality, let alone truth. But he’s also the United States Secretary of Health and Human Services, and as such is a lethal danger to all Americans. That lethality extends to deliberately ignoring the known causes of gun violence, to instead focus on ridiculously irrelevant nonsense, such that there is little to no hope of the situation improving, that situation being the deaths of children in schools at a rate of one school shooting every five days.

It’s very easy for a video games site to look overly defensive when it comes to claims about gaming and violence. However, it is my contention that we are the people who need to be most interested in this possibility, and as such I have followed the discussions and the studies on the subject for the last 25 years. If games are dangerous, I want to be the first person to know. But all rigorous science has shown either no connection, or in fact a (usually very slight) mitigating factor, making some less likely to act violently. (Not enough to get excited about, but enough to suggest the exact opposite is even more unlikely.)

As such, the constant use of “video games” as a scapegoat for issues caused by poverty, inequality, and a lack of mental health support has always been deeply troubling. The more politicians and people in power misdirect, point toward irrelevant factors, the more the real issues prevail, and the more dangerous the situation becomes. Lazily saying “video games” (or “rock-and-roll music” or “video nasties” or whatever the bogeyman du jour might be) is therefore extremely dangerous, even deadly.

What’s even more frightening here is that Kennedy is a man who not only repeats this tiresomely common refrain, but makes it so much worse by actively campaigning against the things that are helping: the provision of psychiatric support to children.

But then Kennedy is simultaneously spreading misinformation about trans healthcare, believes covid was “ethnically targeted” to not infect Ashkenazi Jews and the Chinese, and states that wifi causes “leaky brain.” The man is a dangerous fool in almost every regard.

Famous Race-Losing Horse Who Inspired An Umamusume Character Has Died

by admin September 11, 2025

With a career record of 113 losses and no wins, racehorse Haru Urara became an unintentional pop culture icon in Japan and beyond. The beloved race-losing horse inspired one of Umamusume: Pretty Derby’s horse-girl characters, and her death this week has been marked by many well beyond the racing sphere.

After making her debut in 1998, racehorse Haru Urara became famous for her reliable losing streak, becoming a household name across Japan and for some a kind of patron deity for losers who nevertheless refuse to give up.

Former racehorse Haru Urara, known for an impeccable 113 race loss record, and as the inspiration for the Umamusume: Pretty Derby character of the same name, has died aged 29. pic.twitter.com/HXvdijrj1G

— Eurogamer (@eurogamer) September 9, 2025

Haru Urara lends her name and trademark losing streak to one of the characters in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, a game and anime franchise centered around anthropomorphised horse-girls who double as racers and idols. Though the racehorse Haru Urara retired in 2006, the Umamusume character made more people aware of her quirky background, with the anime and game seeing a trend of fans coming to visit the horse where she was spending her retirement at Matha Farm.

Haru Urara died at the age of 29, Eurogamer reports, but her legacy will live on in the form of an unlucky but endlessly positive anime horse girl in a surprisingly popular gacha game.

Umamusume was first announced as a gacha game back in 2016, but due to delays the anime adaptation released first in 2018. While the free-to-play game was released in Japan in 2021, it didn’t see a release outside of Asia until June this year. Umamusume’s worldwide Steam release proved popular with gamers, with the game hitting a peak of over 87,000 concurrent players in its first month of release. The game is also available globally on iOS and Android.

The devs behind Nine Sols tease a possible follow-up with a mysterious, fictitious, creepypasta video essay

by admin September 11, 2025

It is always an exciting time when Red Candle Games are up to something. The sheer variety they’ve put on display with Detention, Devotion, and most recently Nine Sols is nothing to sniff at. Now, it appears they’re gearing up for the next project in an appropriately mysterious way. Earlier today, the official Red Candle Games YouTube channel shared a video titled “The Dark Legacy of the Sun Tribe,” and it certainly is… something.

The whole thing is done in one of those creepypasta kinda video essays, the kind where the voice over has either been pitched down, or performed by a robot, or both. And it’s all a bit, well, for lack of a better word, creepy. It opens up with the line “are you really human?” which is a question I thought only Yoko Taro was allowed to ask in video games, but nevertheless, an off putting way to start things.

Watch on YouTube

What proceeds is something that sounds like a conspiracy narrated by someone called Yuuki about human evolution, and that aforementioned dark legacy of the sun tribe. A tale is spun about an ancient bamboo scroll written in a language never seen before, a real Chinese alchemist named Xu Fu who sought after immortality by venturing to a place called Penglai, and a civilian scholar desperate to learn more.

A couple things worth noting here: the beginning of the video talks about people born with four fingers. Yi, the protagonist of Nine Sols, is a member of a race called the Solarians, who all have four fingers. Solarian obviously stems from solar, much like the sun tribe mentioned in this teaser. Immortality also comes up in Nine Sols, and Penglai is the name of the planet that Solarians are from. So, I don’t know about you, but this sure does seem like something Nine Sols is on the way.

A sequel? DLC? Something else entirely? It’s possible, the metroidvania did get a prequel manga earlier this year. For now, we’ll just have to let the conspiracy unravel itself…

Putting Star Wars in Destiny 2 sounded like a slam dunk, but the morning after Renegade’s release date was announced, players seem unhappier than ever

by admin September 11, 2025

It’s not a good time for Bungie. This year’s Destiny 2 expansion, The Edge of Fate, is widely regarded as one of the worst expansions the game has ever seen – a big feat to achieve when you’re 11 years old. As intriguing as some of the new story developments in the expanding world of Destiny are, little could soften the impact of some atrocious decision-making from the sandbox and gear teams within the studio: the grind in Destiny has rarely been worse, and fans’ patience for the MMOFPS is becoming increasingly thin.

Even the blowout reveal of what should have been a slam dunk for Bungie – a Star Wars collab that was initially announced back in May – has been met with apathy and disinterest. Renegades (to give the event its proper name) will be the first ever crossover-themed campaign in Destiny’s complicated history, and operates in a muddy middle ground between full crossover and vague skin-based collab.

“Renegades merges Destiny’s distinctive storytelling and gameplay with themes and elements drawn from the iconic sci-fi franchise,” Bungie enthuses in its own press release. In the expansion, we “will defy the Vanguard” to pursue Drifter across Sol, navigating a world of shadows and syndicates in the new social hub, Tharsis Outpost, as we work across story missions to build a crew and resist a rising faction tied to the Nine.

Go and see a Star War.Watch on YouTube

As you can see from the video above, Renegades positions an activity called the Lawless Frontier front and center: per Bungie, it’s “a chaotic, cooperative new game mode, where players take on a variety of high-risk jobs and contracts to earn reputation, unlock all-new Renegade abilities that change the tide of battle, and wield weapons that include the iconic Praxic Blade and an energy-based arsenal from the new Blaster archetype.” A new dungeon is also promised to land after the expansion’s launch on 2nd December.

But, frankly, who cares? This should have been a home run for Bungie – a big crossover like this is often catnip for MMO ride-or-dies – but the general consensus amongst the community at the moment is one of exhausted apathy. After the presentation that debuted information on both Renegades and the other incoming expansion, Ash & Iron, the top post on Destiny’s dedicated Subreddit reads: I think tonight this is a breakpoint for many people and Bungie as a whole. Another bemoans “Almost everything in this “Major Update” is reskinned/reissued, except [the paid shop]”, and every single top post in the dedicated megathread about Renegades is critical of Bungie.

Now, I’ve been a member of /r/DestinyTheGame for about 12 years, and even since the early days (alpha and beta for D1!), the sub has had toxicity issues. Go figure. But this is something else: I don’t think I’ve ever seen the community so fed up and bored with basically everything that is suggested.

The problem is three-fold: as well as Bungie losing key staff that have overseen the Destiny vision since inception, the remaining designers have also implemented sandbox aspects players actively hate – namely, The Portal, a high-grind, low-reward anomaly of game design that actively punishes you for wanting choice in the things you do and the gear you equip. Decisions like these seem to manifest because of a studio culture that “stem from a lack of player empathy, disconnected leadership, and a corporate-first culture,” per one recent report.

Diminishing returns. | Image credit: Eurogamer/SteamDB

At this point, it feels like Bungie’s back is against a wall: player numbers are dropping, player satisfaction is low, and even massive crossover events like Star Wars are failing to stem the haemorrhaging. As a big new update lands, concurrent player counts on Steam are even struggling to reach 50k – a historic low for the game. Will this trend reverse by December, when the Star Wars update actually launches? We’ll have to wait and see but right now, it doesn’t seem likely.

Assassin's Creed Shadows Adds New Region, Weapon, And More

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Adds New Region, Weapon, And More

by admin September 11, 2025

Assassin’s Creed Shadows launched back in May to positive reviews from fans and critics. But like with most Ubisoft games, Shadows has continued to be updated over time. And tomorrow’s big 1.1.1 update is its biggest yet, making it the best time to return to the game’s gorgeous digital recreation of Japan.

On September 10, Ubisoft released the full patch notes for Assassin’s Creed Shadows update 1.1.1, which is arriving on all platforms on Thursday. This is a massive update. The big star of this new patch is that it adds support for the game’s first major DLC expansion: Claws of Awaji. This DLC is launching on September 16 and will be available to anyone who pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed Shadows ahead of its launch earlier this year. It will also be sold separately. The upcoming expansion adds a whole new region to the already massive in-game world of Shadows, as well as around 10 hours of story content, missions, and activities.

Claws of Awaji adds a new weapon type for Naoe, one of the game’s two playable characters, to use: The fast and hard-hitting bo staff. But you don’t need to buy the DLC to get this new weapon. Ubisoft has changed plans and announced on Wednesday that all players will get access to a bo staff after completing a new free quest being added in update 1.1.1.

“Originally developed exclusively for the Claws of Awaji expansion, we thought this weapon was way too cool not to share with everyone… for FREE,” explained Ubisoft in the patch notes post for 1.1.1. “You get a Bo! And you! And you at the back! Everyone gets a Bo, coming September 16th.”

Meanwhile, update 1.1.1 also adds a ton of free stuff that will be available on September 11. For starters, Ubisoft is increasing the level cap (again) and now you’ll be able to level up to 100, letting players get even more powerful. Your in-game hideout is also getting some new features and upgrades. Here’s what Ubisoft had to say about the new hideout changes:

With the new update, each unique building now includes 2 additional upgrade levels, bringing a total of 20 new enhancements, alongside 3 new Hideout levels. These upgrades introduce valuable bonuses that accelerate Hideout growth, improve crafting capability by making Gold more accessible, and directly enhance Naoe, Yasuke, and their allies, making them more effective in both combat and exploration.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows will also get two new gear levels: Mythic and Artifact. Ubisoft makes it sound like upgrading weapons and armor to these new levels will take some time, and that it’s mainly an option for players who are playing on new game+ and need extra help against the tougher enemies. Here are the full patch notes from Ubisoft, which are very long but include details on a lot of other neat changes, fixes, upgrades, and tweaks.

New Novel In The Da Vinci Code Series Gets 40% Launch Discount

by admin September 11, 2025

The sixth novel in the best-selling Robert Langdon series by Dan Brown has arrived. The Secret of Secrets was published by Penguin Random House imprint Doubleday on September 9. Fans of the thriller series can grab the hardcover edition of The Secret of Secrets for only $22.80, which is a 40% discount from the novel’s $38 MSRP. Netflix is already working on a TV series based on The Secret of Secrets.

Though officially known as the Robert Langdon series, many refer to it by the name of the protagonist’s second adventure: The Da Vinci Code. Released in 2003, The Da Vinci Code achieved a level of popularity we might never see again in the world of thriller novels. By 2009, more than 80 million copies of The Da Vinci Code had been sold. It’s one of the best-selling books of all time, and you can add to that total by picking up The Da Vinci Code: Special Illustrated Edition for only $15 (was $40) at Amazon.

Fans waited eight years for The Secret of Secrets, which is the longest gap between Robert Langdon novels in series history. The new novel also happens to be the longest Langdon thriller yet at 688 pages.

In addition to hardcover, The Secret of Secrets is available in large print paperback for $40, Kindle ebook for $16, and as an audiobook via Audible. Earlier this year, Netflix announced a TV series based on The Secret of Secrets.

$22.80 (was $38)

Prior to The Secret of Secrets, the longest novel in the series was Angels & Demons, Langdon’s first adventure, at 572 pages. Three of the Langdon novels are under 500 pages, including The Da Vinci Code, so The Secret of Secrets is quite the doorstopper in comparison.

On a visit to Prague to attend the lecture of his girlfriend and noetic scientist Katherine Solomon, Robert Langdon gets entangled in a dangerous conspiracy of world-altering proportions. When someone is murdered and Katherine disappears–along with a manuscript that “contains startling discoveries about the nature of human consciousness”–Langdon must use his expertise in symbology to find Katherine and unravel the mystery and unmask a shadowy organization.

The Secret of Secrets is said to fuse ancient mythology with technology out of a sci-fi novel.

Like all of Brown’s Da Vinci Code novels, The Secret of Secrets draws from history, but don’t expect it to adhere to the truth. Brown has received criticism for using historical inaccuracies, particularly when it comes to religion, as plot devices. To be fair, these books star a professor of symbology, which is a job that doesn’t exist. Symbology is indeed the study of symbols, but it’s not a formalized field like it’s depicted in Brown’s books. The series is popular because Brown writes fast-paced, high-concept stories that often use true historical events as a foundation before asking the question: What if everything we believe to be true is wrong?

These books are supposed to be fun, not realistic. After all, one of the main plot drivers in The Da Vinci Code is a hidden message on the Mona Lisa. Langdon’s field of study naturally introduces grand conspiracies that readers (and viewers) are captivated by.

The Da Vinci Code / Angels & Demons

If you need to catch up on the Robert Langdon series before diving into his latest high-stakes adventure, the first five books are available for fairly cheap in paperback and hardcover. The series started in 2000 with Angels & Demons, though many readers wound up reading this one after The Da Vinci Code. The third novel, The Lost Symbol, hit bookstores in 2009. Brown followed it up with Inferno in 2013 and Origin in 2017. The first four novels are also available as Special Illustrated Edition hardcovers. The Da Vinci Code Special Illustrated Edition is up for grabs for only $15, just a couple bucks more than traditional hardcover and paperback versions. The Special Illustrated Edition has over 160 full-color illustrations.

Paperback

  1. Angels & Demons — $10.49 ($19)
  2. The Da Vinci Code — $12 ($20)
  3. The Lost Symbol — $15.30 ($19)
  4. Inferno — $14 ($19)
  5. Origin — $10.87 ($19)

Hardcover

  1. Angels & Demons — $18.62 ($38)
  2. The Da Vinci Code — $12 ($38)
  3. The Lost Symbol — $13 ($38)
  4. Inferno — $13 ($38)
  5. Origin — $18 ($38)
  6. The Secret of Secrets — $22.80 ($38)

Special Illustrated Hardcover Edition

  1. Angels & Demons — $30 ($40)
  2. The Da Vinci Code — $15 ($40)
  3. The Lost Symbol — $40.79
  4. Inferno — $37.49 ($40)

Outside of The Da Vinci Code series, Brown has published two standalone novels for adults: Digital Fortress and Deception Point. Released in 1998 as Brown’s debut novel, Digital Fortress is a techno-thriller revolving around government surveillance. Deception Point, published in 2001, is a mystery-thriller about discovering proof of alien life against the backdrop of an important presidential election.

Robert Langdon movie adaptations starring Tom Hanks

Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of The Secret of Secrets means that five of the six novels in the series will have screen adaptations. Tom Hanks starred in popular film adaptations of The Da Vinci Code (2006), Angels & Demons (2009), and Inferno (2016). In 2021, an adaptation of The Lost Symbol premiered on Peacock; the series ran for 10 episodes but was canceled after Season 1. The only Robert Langdon novel without an adaptation is Origin.

If you want to check out the movies and Peacock series, all four are available on Blu-ray. The Robert Langdon 3-Movie Set is only $18.47 (was $31). Alternatively, you can get each movie on 4K for $16-$17 each. The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons received 4K restorations in 2016 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the movie adaptation as well as the theatrical release of Inferno, the final appearance for Hanks as Langdon. The Lost Symbol: Complete Series is $35 on Blu-ray and $25.84 on DVD.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ next update adds in a cool staff, Ezio’s threads, and some neat quality of life bits

by admin September 11, 2025

You want an Assassin’s Creed Shadows update? You’ve got an Assassin’s Creed Shadows update! Well, you will tomorrow, September 11th anyway, but Ubisoft did release the patch notes for the action game in any case. Here’s what you can expect for the Assassin’s Creed Shadows 1.1.1 title update! First up is the fact that the game will be ready for its first expansion, Claws of Awaji, which is due out next week, September 16th. The level cap is also being raised to 100 to account for the expansion!

For everyone who won’t be picking up the expansion, there is a new free story quest, Go With The Bo. Here you’ll join Junjiro as he sets out to meet a legendary Bo master and a new weapon that Naoe can use, the Bo staff. There’s also new hideout upgrades, including two more upgrade levels, 20 new enhancements, and three new Hideout levels. Upgrading the Nando to level two will now give you the ability to meditate and move the time forward to the next six o’clock, AM or PM.

If you upgrade the study to level four, scouts will now have the ability to reveal viewpoints and safehouses, and with upgrading the Kakurega to the same level, uncovering all viewpoints within a province reveals it completely.

There are two new gear quality tiers that you can upgrade your kit to if you’ve got your forge to level six, called mythic and artifact. “Once an item reaches a new quality, it can be further upgraded through eight additional levels to unlock its full potential,” the patch notes explain.

Ubisoft still can’t seem to let go of Ezio either, as in the Animus Hub there are some fresh rewards for a new project called Sanctuary. These include Ezio’s outfit, Ezio’s outfit but for a cat, an Ezio-themed kusarigama, and a Charm of Firenze trinket.

There are also new anomalies to be found in Awaji if you own the expansion, and cutscenes are no longer limited to 30 FPS. You’ll also find a number of other fixes and tweaks, but you can read the full patch notes to learn about those small details.

There’s A 60-Minute Nintendo Direct Happening This Friday

by admin September 11, 2025

Nintendo has announced that a Nintendo Direct is coming this Friday, on Sept. 12. It will begin at 6 a.m. PT/9 a.m. ET and run for about 60 minutes.

As for what to expect, Nintendo simply says, “Tune in for roughly 60 minutes of information on upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch games,” noting that it will be streamed on YouTube and via its news-focused Nintendo Today app.

If we put our speculation caps on, it seems likely we’ll see more of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which launches on Oct. 16 and has the potential to be the best Pokémon game in years, Metroid Prime 4, which doesn’t yet have a release date despite Nintendo stating it’s launching this year, and Kirby Air Riders, which launches in November. Beyond that, it wouldn’t be surprising to get some game reveals and more.

Fortunately, we don’t have to wait too long to find out because the Nintendo Direct happens this week, on Friday, Sept. 12.

In the meantime, read Game Informer’s Metroid Prime 4 preview, and then check out everything we learned in the recent Kirby Air Riders Direct. After that, check out how Mega Hawlucha and Mega Victreebel are coming to Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

What do you hope to see during Friday’s Nintendo Direct? Let us know in the comments below!
