Seagate Portable 2tb External Hard Drive Hdd

Seagate’s Portable 2TB Hard Drive Is Just $5 More Than the 1TB, Almost Free Insurance Policy for Gamers

by admin August 31, 2025

A catastrophic data loss goes way beyond just losing files. You could have digitized photos or home movies on your hard drive, and if they’re not backed up when your computer meets with a sudden disaster, they’re gone forever. That’s when your data loss becomes a huge ball of emotional stress that you really could do without.

The $70 price attached to the Seagate Portable 2TB External Hard Drive at Amazon during a limited-time deal might be the least expensive insurance policy you’ll find today, and that’s true for PC and Mac users, and also Xbox and PlayStation gamers. (Because losing game data also sucks.) It’s two terabytes of plug-and-play, cross-platform-compatible peace of mind at an exceptional price.

See at Amazon

Fast and Secure

The Seagate Portable 2TB External Hard Drive works with USB 3.0 for super-fast file transfers of up to 120MB/s, and also with USB 2.0 on older devices. Either way, there’s no app or driver you need to install, and it doesn’t need any external power source. It’s strictly plug-and-play across all of its compatible platforms. The included 18-inch USB 3.0 cable gives you flexibility when it comes to where to set up the drive. (There’s really nothing worse than those cheap 4-inch cables packaged with other drives.)

The Seagate 2TB drive works with automatic backup apps like Apple’s Time Machine, and also as a drag-and-drop interface. If you want to take your data or game files on the go, the Seagate is literally pocket-sized, barely over a half-inch in thickness and exceptionally light, and built sturdily enough that you don’t have to worry about tossing it into a backpack on your way out the door.

Backup for your Backup

Things do happen, which is why you’re buying a reliable backup drive in the first place. And if some awful fate were to befall your Seagate drive, it comes with a year of Seagate’s Rescue Service, which depending on the severity of the damage would either repair the drive or extract the data from it and send it back to you on a new drive.

A smart and increasingly common practice is to copy your most precious and/or sensitive data and files onto one drive and store it in a safe location outside of your home, thus covering yourself in case of fire or other natural disaster. At the current $70 Amazon price for the 2TB Seagate Portable Hard Drive, having one emergency backup drive offsite and another to keep with your computer is a smart tactic. But having at least one fast, reliable backup drive is essential, so head to Amazon now and grab a Seagate Portable 2TB External Hard Drive while it’s on sale for just $70.

Anker Laptop Power Bank, 25,000mah Portable Charger
Game Reviews

Anker’s 25,000mAh Laptop Power Bank Drops Below Prime Day Pricing for Labor Day, Game Freely Without Outlets

by admin August 31, 2025

Maybe someone challenged Anker to see just how much power and potential they could pack into a portable charger that’s only 6 inches long and weighs a scant 1.3 pounds. There’s really no other logical explanation for the Anker Laptop Power Bank, a 25,000mAh universally compatible behemoth with that can charge up to 4 devices at a time.

Could this be the best portable charging device of all? Four-device capabilty, two built-in cables including one that doubles as a carrying strap, able to charge an M3 MacBook Air from zero to 50% in just 21 minutes, and the winner of an iF Design Award and a Red Dot Design Award in 2025? Finding out for yourself has never been easier now that Amazon’s running a limited-time 30%-off deal that drops the Anker Laptop Power Bank to just $94.

See at Amazon

Charges Everything, Fast

The Anker Laptop Power Bank can charge four devices in total, and even with three devices connected for some juice — including a laptop — all three get up to 100W at the same time. Two of the three USB-C ports have dedicated built-in cables, thus eliminating that mad scramble to find one when you’re on the go or in a hurry. One of those built-in USB-C cables extends up to 2.3 feet and can retract back into the body of the Power Bank, while the other doubles as a carrying strap. That’s a lot of cable-bending, so it’s good that Anker has built both cables to endure over 20,000 bends and retractions.

It doesn’t matter which device you’re looking to charge — the Anker Laptop Power Bank works with Mac and Windows laptops, smartphones, tablets, and wireless earbuds and headphones from Apple, Samsung, Google, or any brand that’s USB-C compatible, and also Steam Decks and other handheld gaming consoles. The fourth port is USB-A, so older devices aren’t getting left out.

See It Work

The hi-res real-time display screen at the front of the Anker Laptop Power Bank gives you all the information you could possibly need, including the output and input wattage for all four ports, remaining charge time, and the temperature and health of the Laptop Power Bank itself. The Laptop Power Bank takes its own temperature and those of the devices it’s connected to 3 million times per day, basically eliminating any chance of an excessive-heat-related failure. It’s TSA approved, so it’s the ultimate travel accessory to keep all of your devices up and running.

There’s a very solid case to be made that the Anker Laptop Power Bank is indeed the very best portable charger on the market. The combination of compact size, power output, number of devices it can charge, built-in cables, and safety measures is unparalleled, and now during Amazon’s limited-time 30% off deal, so is the $94 price.

Silksong Still Feels Like One Giant Mystery Even After Playing It

by admin August 31, 2025

Hollow Knight: Silksong has a lot in common with Grand Theft Auto 6. Fans have been waiting on it for years. Each new crumb of information is quickly devoured. Competitors are scrambling out of the way. And after years of fermenting hype, the most wishlisted game on Steam now has to deliver something bigger than the all-consuming cultural distortion field surrounding it. No small task. I’ve now played 15 minutes of the final demo and I still could not tell you which way it’s going to go. That’s because everything that can make a Metroidvania Soulslike like Silksong truly pop is precisely what Team Cherry is keeping most under wraps.

I played the Gamescom 2025 build of Silksong on the Xbox Ally PC gaming handheld during a PAX West-adjacent event at Microsoft and it felt like eating a Dunkin Donuts Munchkin: easy, sweet, and over way too soon. That’s by design. Team Cherry said in a recent interview that the game took seven years to make because of all of the new areas, characters, and secrets it wanted to pack into the Hollow Knight sequel. And it also clearly didn’t want to ruin any of those things by actually talking about them before the game’s September 4 release date on PC and console, or by showing them off ahead of time in the demo.

The only portion of Silksong that anyone has played so far takes place near the beginning of the game. Hornet, the new protagonist, awakes in an underground glen full of bright moss and easy enemies. A short platforming section introduces players to the familiar Bloodborne-inspired combat (you need to deal damage to get health back) and the game’s exploration which has you exhausting dead-ends until you find the path forward. It wraps with a simple mini-boss fight that’s intent on scaring any newcomers away.

Team Cherry

The second section takes you to smoldering caverns with more deadly enemies to navigate. Ensembles of flying, fire-ball-spitting wizards and knights with big shields make you work to survive and gesture toward the ambient, elevated threat level that fills each path you choose to go down with just the right amount of tension.

This is all classic Hollow Knight so far. The only thing that really sets Silksong apart in the demo is Hornet. The character’s a bit faster, has a down diagonal attack to speed up aerial recoveries, and can heal more quickly but only after more energy is gathered from dealing damage. It’s a different, more aggressive flow than the original game’s, and could take on an even more distinct identity once players start unlocking their full arsenals.

Will Hollow Knight: Silksong really cost $20?

All of which is to say that while there were certainly no red flags in my brief hands-on time with Silksong, it’s impossible to know from the 15-minute demo whether Silksong can deliver on what fans have been hoping for over the last eight years. It’s slick and prettier than the original, but what will ultimately matter is the cleverness of its secrets, exploration, and later-game boss fights. One other bit of potential good news ahead of the game’s launch next week is that it might not be very expensive either.

Hollow Knight launched for just $15 back in 2017. You can currently buy it on PC for just half that price leading up to the sequel’s release (act now and you might be able to beat it in time). A leak yesterday on the GameStop website suggested Silksong will be $20, only $5 more than its predecessor at a time when Team Cherry easily could have charged $30 or more. The store listing has since been taken down and might have just been a speculative placeholder.

According to Dealabs‘ own leak, the $20 price for Silksong on PC is accurate. No physical editions of the game have been confirmed yet, however.

All eyes will be on Steam for when the actual price drops. So far Team Cherry hasn’t actually confirmed how much it will cost. Like almost everything else about the game, the small indie team is keeping that close to the vest. Not that it will matter. Just like the lack of reviews ahead of launch, Silksong doesn’t have to play by conventional rules. It’s in a league of its own. In less than a week we’ll finally know if it truly belongs there.

29th August video games round-up: What went wrong with Football Manager 25, and Steam age verification in the UK

by admin August 30, 2025

A candid look at why last year’s Football Manager was canned

Some things are as predictable as rain in the UK, and one of those is the annualised release of a new Football Manager game. But last year there wasn’t one. Last year (well, technically this year after a delay) Sports Interactive and Sega made the unprecedented deicsion to cancel Football Manager 25.

Why? That’s what Chris travelled to Sports Interactive to find out, and he published his findings – his candid interview with studio boss Miles Jacobson – this morning. It’s a fantastic read, a look behind the curtain. An open an honest account of a big-swing game evolution that wasn’t ready to release.

But it’s not an easy thing to cancel an annualised game. One does not simply withhold it. There’s your publisher’s annual earnings to think about, there are Premier League and football league licenses to think about. There are your players to think about. There’s a lot.

“I don’t believe we’re going to be disappointing people when we bring the game out. I don’t believe that we are going to lose the reputation that we’ve worked really hard to build up in the 30, 31 years I’ve been here. We’ve got a fucking great game! We didn’t have a great game in December, and genuinely that’s what it completely comes down to. We didn’t have a great game.”

This 50″ Smart TV Is Crowding Amazon’s Warehouses, So They’re Selling It at No Profit

by admin August 30, 2025

If you’re shopping for a 50-inch TV but don’t want to drop $2,000 on a high-end OLED model, there’s a smarter option that hits the sweet spot for most living rooms and bedrooms. TVs come in all sizes and price, and this Toshiba 50″ (Class C350 Series) LED 4K UHD Smart Fire TV is currently on offer for an all-time low price of $189 which is a massive cut from its usual $349 (46% off).

See at Amazon

Fantastic Technology

Toshiba packs plenty of technology into this model to keep the image sharp and lifelike. One of the highlights is the REGZA Engine ZR, Toshiba’s own image processing engine. It works by scanning each scene meticulously, pushing the resolution up to true 4K quality. This means clear, colorful images that seem real when viewing movies, streaming TV shows, or gaming.

Even though most of your content isn’t 4K yet, this TV’s got you covered. The AI 4K Upscaler breathes new life into Full HD content, and elevates things to near 4K quality by analyzing color and texture pixel by pixel. The result is crisper images with more detail, giving retro television and video a new lease on life without the fuzziness you’d get on a cheap screen.

Picture quality is further boosted with Dolby Vision HDR which brings out deeper blacks and brighter highlights for a more lifelike look. Paired with Dolby Atmos audio tech, this TV doesn’t just look good and it also delivers a richer sound experience. You’ll feel like you’re right in the middle of the action.

What’s more, gamers will enjoy Game Mode as a nice bonus since it allows for features like Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and eARC. These reduce lag and screen tearing and help your TV communicate better with your gaming console or PC. Throw this on top of motion clarity and color accuracy, and you’ve got yourself a great gaming experience.

For usability, this Toshiba has Fire TV built-in which allows you direct access to streaming apps like Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+, all controlled by voice using Alexa. There is a provided voice remote that makes it easy to browse and search and makes it easy to find something you want quickly without needing to dig through menus.

At $189, this TV brings together a strong set of features and performance that’s rare in its price range. Make sure you don’t miss that opportunity.

Stardew Valley will be getting another update after all

by admin August 30, 2025

Just months after revealing there’d be no more Stardew Valley updates until Haunted Chocolatier released, creator Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone has confirmed that another update is coming to the fan-favourite farming sim.

Addressing fans at the Stardew Valley Symphony of Seasons concert in Seattle, Barone himself took to the stage and revealed a “secret” to the excited attendees.

Let’s Play Stardew Valley Multiplayer – THE ONE WHERE JOHNNY EATS AN EGG!Watch on YouTube

As posted to TikTok by jillbobagginz (thanks, FRVR), Barone said: “After that [last 1.6] update, I was thinking, ‘I don’t know if I’m going to make another update’. But I wanted to share something with you tonight, it’s kind of a secret… there’s going to be another update.”

We don’t know any details yet, of course, let alone timescales, but it’s great news to Stardew fans nonetheless, given Barone revealed in April that Stardew “pulls [him] away from devoting all [his] time to Haunted Chocolatier,” the follow-up game he’s also currently working on. Quite how this new update will impact the development of Haunted Chocolatier – if at all – remains to be seen, though.

Pixelated farming sim Stardew Valley first debuted almost a decade ago, and has since gone from strength to strength. Last year, Barone released Stardew Valley’s bumper 1.6 update, which essentially boosted the game to an almost 2.0 status, introducing a vast number of features to the base game such as new NPC dialogues, home renovations, and turtle pets.

As of December last year, Stardew Valley had sold in excess of 41m copies across platforms. Of those 41m, over half are on PC, with 26m copies sold. Meanwhile, the Nintendo Switch accounts for 7.9m Stardew Valley sales and though there’s been a handful of crossovers with other games during that time, Barone recently revealed he’s never made any money directly from in-game collaborations.

Mortal Kombat 2 No Longer Coming Out In Time For Easy Halloween Costumes

by admin August 30, 2025

Mortal Kombat 2 was set to hit theaters on October 24, just a week before Halloween. It seemed like good timing for a hyper-violent video game classic about warriors fighting horrors from other dimensions. Apparently Warner Bros. disagreed. The studio has now delayed the sequel by nearly seven months because it thinks the corny fist-fest can make more money in the spring.

That’s according to Deadline, which reported the news late on Friday before the Labor Day holiday weekend. It claims “research screenings have been strong” and that Warner Bros. didn’t want to bury its latest video game adaptation in a “crowded late October frame” between Springsteen Deliver Me From Nowhere and Regretting You.

So instead, Mortal Kombat 2 will now come out on May 15, 2026. Avengers: Doomsday was originally set to open that month but was pushed back to December of next year. The only real competition will be The Mandalorian and Grogu which arrives at the end of next May. So even if Mortal Kombat 2 ends up having a surprisingly long tail, it’ll probably get kicked out of most theaters by Star Wars.

The sequel brings in The Boys‘ Karl Urban as the shade-wearing, split-kicking Johnny Cage and its July trailer looked decent. If it has the budget to double-down on some of the big spectacle fight sequences the 2021 reboot was missing it could be fun. Though I still think its cheesy gore-fest sensibility was a great fit for Halloween. I don’t usually like slasher movies but I’ll make an exception if Scorpion’s the one doing the impaling.

Blizzard's Diablo team forms union seeking protection in wake of Microsoft layoffs

Blizzard’s Diablo team forms union seeking protection in wake of Microsoft layoffs

by admin August 30, 2025

Blizzard’s Diablo team is the latest group of Microsoft workers to form a union, with over 450 developers voting in favour of representation with the Communications Workers of America.

The decision follows mass layoffs at Microsoft back in June, with workers at the company seeking fair compensation, job security, and an opportunity to improve workplace conditions.

Other unions formed by Microsoft workers include Blizzard’s story and franchise development team, as well as employees at ZeniMax Media and Raven Software. There are now over 3,500 employees at Microsoft in CWA organised unions.

“With every subsequent round of mass layoffs, I’ve witnessed the dread in my coworkers grow stronger because it feels like no amount of hard work is enough to protect us,” said Kelly Yeo, a game producer on Diablo and organising committee member. “I am overjoyed that we have formed a union – this is just the first step for us joining a movement spreading across an industry that is tired of living in fear. We are ready to begin fighting for real change alongside our Diablo colleagues.”

The union includes developers, artists, designers, engineers, and support staff working across the Diablo franchise.

“My entire career as a developer has seen my peers and I paying the ‘passion tax’ for working in an industry that we love,” said Nav Bhatti, a senior software engineer and organising committee member. “At some point you have to choose between fight or flight, and forming a union is us doing just that – standing our ground in the industry.”

“Diablo workers are the latest to show that California has become a hub for video game worker organising,” said CWA local 9510 president Jason Justice. “What’s happening here is part of a much larger story about turning the tide in an industry that has long overlooked its labour. Entertainment workers across film, television, music, and now video games are standing together to have a seat at the table. The strength of our movement comes from that solidarity.”

Eurogamer recently spoke to members of Blizzard’s story and franchise development team about their union, discussing their demands from Microsoft.

This is a news-in-brief story. This is part of our vision to bring you all the big news as part of a daily live report.
