Here's our first look at the cast and concept art for Kojima's "stealth action" PlayStation title, Physint

Here’s our first look at the cast and concept art for Kojima’s “stealth action” PlayStation title, Physint

by admin September 23, 2025

Tonight, as part of the Kojima Productions 10th Anniversary livestream, called Beyond the Strand, we got a new update on the studio’s Metal Gear-style project, Physint.

The title, which to date has been shrouded in secrecy, is still in the early stages of development, but we did get some confirmations this evening: actors Don Lee, Charlee Fraser, and Minami Hamabe are involved, and Hamabe also featured in an in-engine demonstration in which Kojima specifically noted how pleased he was with the rendering of her skin.

Sony Interactive Entertainment Studio head Herman Hulst appeared briefly before the segment on Physint, doubling down on the statements about Sony working closely with Kojima Productions on the title.

The game, as previously teased, is a “stealth action title” a la Metal Gear Solid, and we finally got a little look at the key art for the game – you can see it in the header of this article.

You can see the latest Physint information dump here as part of the livestream below.

Kojima Productions 10th Anniversary Livestream: Beyond the Strand
Watch on YouTube

All that we knew about Physint before this, really, was that the title was ‘some way off’. The last update we had on the game came from Kojima in Auguast 2025, as the influential developer noted he was still working on the game “all by [him]self”.

Physint was announced to be in the works for PlayStation in January 2024, with Kojima Productions describing it as a “next-generation action espionage game” at the time. Apparently, the game would enter full production after the launch of Death Stranding 2 – and here we are.

Back in May, Kojima revealed Physint was now “in development”, noting it would likely take him “another five or six years” to complete. It’s also a personal project for the storied developer, who has described the game as a “culmination of [his] work”, that he wants to “transcend the barriers between film and video games”. The title was born during a period of sickness and surgery, when thoughts of his own mortality convinced him to ‘change his priorities’ and do something fans had been asking him to do for years. Cheery, then.

After Months Without a Discount, ASUS’s 15.6” Portable Monitor Drops Again Ahead of Prime Big Deal Days

by admin September 23, 2025

Having a work-from-home job doesn’t necessarily mean you need to always be working from home. You feasibly have the power to work from anywhere in the world so long has you have stable Wi-Fi. The thing that used to get in the way of me getting out more often with my laptop is that I don’t like working off just my laptop screen. At my desk, I have spoiled myself with three large monitors and can see everything I’m working on at once. On my laptop, I’m caught flipping through endless tabs and apps, losing track of what I’m looking at constantly. But now, I have gotten myself a portable monitor. You can too as this one from ASUS just dropped on Amazon from $209 to just $169. That 19% discount will save you a solid $40.

See at Amazon

Get Out More

For the worker that wants to get out and about more, ASUS’ portable monitor is perfect at it’s 15.6-inch display size. If you decide to head over to your local coffee shop or maybe get some work done in your hotel room while traveling, you can simulate your desktop experience, being able to view more of what you want to have access to at once. You can have the spreadsheet your building out on one display while you have your email or Slack opened up on the second as not to miss any pings coming your way. Or instead you can mute any incoming notifications and use your second monitor to watch the latest episode of Peacemaker while putting slides together for your next presentation on the first one.

The ASUS monitor has a built-in kickstand, making it easy to prop up. It can be setup in either landscape or portrait mode. I’m a big champion of the vertical display. Having your email or slack set up vertically just makes more sense than landscape. You can see more of your messages at once and be able to read more of those longwinded emails before you need to scroll down again.

The monitor supports a hybrid-signal, meaning the USB-C allows for the transmission of both video and power. This is wonderful because it means you’ll have less cables running across your workspace. It just needs the one USB-C cable connected from your laptop and that’s enough to turn on the portable ASUS monitor and send the video feed to it.

If you want to use the ASUS monitor as a more permanent secondary monitor, you’ll be happy to learn it is tripod hold compatible, letting you mount the display.

TikTok Flooded With ‘Sexy’ Grinch And Disney Ornaments

by admin September 23, 2025

I see so much slop on my TikTok feed these days that most of it doesn’t faze me. However, for the past week or so, I’ve seen ads promoting what are very clearly AI-generated Christmas ornaments featuring famous characters in situations that their respective IP holders would probably never approve of. I can’t unsee these horrors, so now, I’m making it your problem. You ever seen Belle from Beauty and the Beast making an ahegao face as she gets spanked over Beast’s knee? Do you know what the Grinch looks like on his knees, worshipping a mystery Grinch lady’s uncomfortably caked-up rear-end? Well, it’s too late to turn back now. Look at it:

©Homacus

These monstrosities come courtesy of Homacus, a personalized gift shop that lets you print the names of yourself and your significant other on a “naughty” Christmas ornament featuring beloved characters like Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Shrek and Fiona, Batman and Catwoman, and many more that I doubt Disney, DC, and the numerous other rights holders signed off on. But hey, I’m open to being wrong, so I did reach out to Homacus for comment on the matter and will update the story if we hear back. Whatever the case, the company is very boldly paying for ads to make innocent bystanders like me very, very aware these ornaments exist. Think of all the poor bastards trying to scroll TikTok in peace who saw Jack Skellington tossing Sally’s salad. We already get enough psychic damage on the internet, and now we’re dealing with this?

The whole thing reeks of Facebook ad core shit that sites sell to boomers who think referencing anything sexual outside the bedroom is scandalous. It’s the type of pent-up sexual frustration that reminds you there are couples out there who rarely see each other naked, so having things like this hanging off their Christmas tree is as raunchy as it gets. I don’t care what debauchery is happening behind closed doors; just don’t make me look at Minecraft creepers smacking each other’s dumpies.

How to beat I’m Not a Robot

by admin September 23, 2025

I’m Not a Robot tests whether you’re truly a human with 48 levels of mini-games and captcha prompts. And while you think it might be a simple walk in the park, some levels are tougher than others.

Here are all the levels you’ll find in I’m Not a Robot and how to beat them.

All levels and answers of I’m Not a Robot

  • Level 1 – Checkbox: Check the box. Did you really need my help for that?
  • Level 2 – Stop Signs: Select the four boxes where the red stop sign is. Easy peasy!
  • Level 3 – Wiggles: This wiggling captcha is fairly straight forward: Enter the letters or numbers you see into the text box and hit “Submit.” Also, yes—you do need to capitalize the letters.
  • Level 4 – Vegetables: Do you know your veggies? Hint: Tomatoes aren’t considered a vegetable. Get with the times! Select the carrots, onions, eggplant, and corn to beat this level.
  • Level 5 – Rotation: Reassemble the intersection by clicking on each box. The outside corners, the circles, connect at the middle. If it’s still not allowing you to continue to the next level, try rotating the center piece a few times.
  • Level 6 – XOXO: Win at Tic Tac Toe. Simple enough, right? To get the upper edge, refresh the puzzle using the button to the left of the “Verify” so you can get the first move. Center square is always the best starting play, eh?
  • Level 7 – Word Search: Look for “Stop,” “Sign,” and “Bike.” This puzzle looks a bit different for everyone, but in my experience, the words have all touched each other every time I’ve played through I’m Not a Robot. If you can find one word, you’ll soon find the others.
  • Level 8 – License Plate: Enter the “perpetrator’s” license plate. Why are they a perpetrator? Who knows!
  • Level 9 – Nested: Select all the squares with a stop sign. They’ll divide into more squares when you click on them, but eventually, they’ll turn blue. There’s a total of 29 squares you need to select to pass this level.
  • Level 10 – Whack-a-Mole: Whack! That! Mole! And be quick with it! You need to bop that sucker five times before you can select “Verify” and proceed to the next level.
  • Level 11 – Waldo: Sheesh, this one’s a headache, isn’t it? You’ll have to find Waldo among a sea of beach-goers. Let me make it easy on you: Look for the striped tent that can be found a couple of squares down from the tide and three squares to the left of the picture’s rightmost edge. Three squares to the left of the tent will be our boy Waldo. You need to select both squares he appears in to move on to the next level.
  • Level 12 – Muffins?: Muffin or Chihuahua? Only a human would know. There’s six doggos in this picture—though I’m not going to lie: I could really go for a muffin right now…
  • Level 13 – Reverse: Select all the images that don’t have a traffic light in them. A little different from what we’re used to, but nothing a human couldn’t easily overcome.
  • Level 14 – Affirmations: Select the “I’m not a robot” option out of all the “I AM a robot” variations. Hint: It’s the one nine rows down, second column from the left.
  • Level 15 – Parking: Hope you have your diver’s licenses for this one. Park the Waymo in the parking spot using the arrow keys. Just don’t hit any of the cars next to it. I don’t think these things come with insurance. And yes, you have to be between the lines. Don’t be “that guy.”
  • Level 16 – Now in 3D!: Enter the text shown in the image. Best of luck to those of you who get a six or nine in your prompt.
  • Level 17 – Perfect Circle: Draw a circle that’s 94 percent accurate or better. It’ll take you a couple of tries, but there’s no shame in that—drawing on any digital device is by no means easy.
  • Level 18 – Sisyphus: Select all the squares with a fire hydrant. The squares refresh once you select them, and some will be replaced with more fire hydrants. Just keep selecting them, and eventually you’ll be left with zero fire hydrants.
  • Level 19 – In the Dark: Enter the text in the box below. Where’s the text, you ask? It’s hiding! Use your mouse to shine a light and reveal the letters. Type in what you see from left to right, then hit “Verify.”
  • Level 20 – Rorschach: Ever seen a Rorschach inkblot test? Well, now you have. Type in what you see, even if it’s something weird. I, for example, saw two moles high-fiving. But you can put basically anything, and the level will be marked as complete.
  • Level 21 – CRAFTCHA: Make a Diamond Pickaxe by arranging Wood Sticks and Diamonds in the Minecraft-style crafting box.
  • Level 22 – My Ducks Ahhh: Time to get all your ducks in a row. Click on each duck to wrangle it back into its box, and then move on to the next level.
  • Level 23 – Panorama: Find either the guitar cat or the kissing couple. This is a little creepy, isn’t it? Luckily they’re always in the same spot.
  • Level 24 – Eye Exam: The first three answers are: “EDFCZP,” “8,” and “34” for the dots. The last part of this level varies, so apologies for those of you who can’t see the different hues. The good news, though? The boxes don’t move, so if you have to click through all of them, get to clickin’.
  • Level 25 – Creativity: Use all of the tools provided to “express yourself.” Make a masterpiece, or just scribble some lines using each tool. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, is it not? Just make sure to use at least three different colors.
  • Level 26 – Parallel Parking: This two-stage level requires you to park the Waymo in the parking spot by parallel-parking the car. What, they didn’t teach you that in driving school? Yes, it’s going to take an embarrassing amount of time to park that stupid car. That’s probably why they made Waymos driverless—because AI can do it better than you. Sorry!
  • Level 27 – Networking: Connect each block to the other block of the same color by clicking on it and drawing a pathway. All blocks must be filled, like in the image below.

You did come here for the answer, did you not? Screenshot by Destructoid

  • Level 28 – Day Trader: Buy low, sell high! That’s how those big wigs make their investments, at least. Hit “Buy” when you see the point on the right-side of the graph go down. Then hit “Sell” when it goes up. Simple enough, right? So why haven’t you earned millions in the stock market, then? Hmmm?
  • Level 29 – Soul: Woooof. Wasn’t expecting to think this deep in a browser game, didja? Level 29 asks you to select all the items with a “soul.” I picked the dog and the octopus and got verified off that.
  • Level 30 – Sliding Tiles: For this one, you have to reassemble the tiles the make a stop sign by sliding tiles over to an empty space. It’s like those old puzzles you used to find as a kid. I hate them just as much now as I did back then.
  • Level 31 – Traffic Tree: Select all the squares with the oddest-looking traffic light you’ll ever see. Answer: It’s all of the square minus the top left and top right corners.
  • Level 32 – Drum Verify: Play the sick beats! This is really just a “follow-the-leader” situation, where you have to click on the tiles in the same order they light up. This happens three times, after which you’ll be able to progress to the next level.
  • Level 33 – Brands: This is just a standard captcha, but instead of letters, you have brand logos. Don’t you just hate capitalism?
  • Level 34 – Mathematics: Math was never my strong suit in school. Since you’re here, I’m guessing it wasn’t yours either. What makes this level even more difficult is it varies from person to person. But I recommend googling each equation, writing down the answer, and then sorting that way. Here’s what my final answer looked like:

Math was never my strong suit in school. Screenshot by Destructoid

  • Level 35 – Shuffle: It’s the ol’ cup-in-a-ball trick. Follow the ball and select the right cup three times in a row to move on to the next level. I recommend using your mouse pointer or finger to follow along.
  • Level 36 – Not Candy Crush: It’s definitely not Candy Crush. It might look like Candy Crush. It might even play exactly like Candy Crush. But it’s definitely not Candy Crush. Line up the jewels to reach the required score.
  • Level 37 – Imposters: Select all the men that are AI generated. This one’s pretty easy; just select all the fake-looking men. But if you want the answer—and I know you do, since you clicked on this article—here’s the combination you need to get to the next level.

There’s only three AI-generated men among us. Screenshot by Destructoid

  • Level 38 – Tough Decisions: Park the Waymo (yet again!) in the empty space. Based on the design of the road, it might look like you need to decide between hitting an old woman and a baby on your way to the parking spot. But guess again! You can drive around the bushes, off the map, to avoid hitting both. Guess that decision wasn’t so tough after all, huh?
  • Level 39 – Facial Exam: Be happy! Now be sad! Now mad! Now act surprised! You’ll need a camera on this one.
  • Level 40 – Slot Machine: No, we’re not going to Las Vegas. But you do get to play slots! Well, sort of. Type in the numbers or letters you see in the slot machines as they come up.
  • Level 41 – Grave: You might think you need to type F to pay your respects, but that’s not going to work ’round here partner. Here’s what you need to do: Click on the tombstone. Then use the brush to clear it of moss. Light the candle. Then pick flowers and drag the bouquet to the tombstone.
  • Level 42 – Reverse Turing: There’s a few main aspects of engaging in a conversation, and I believe they play a role in this level: Asking thought-provoking questions and responding to what the other speaker said. I found that the deeper the question, the more the confidence level went up. But asking questions about what the chatbot said and using similar words also increases the level, too.

This is a totally normal conversation. Screenshot by Destructoid

Level 43 – Ikea: If you’ve ever put together an Ikea table, you’re going to pass this test with flying colors. Unfortunately, this one doesn’t come with instructions. The below image shows the design you should be aiming for.

It’s a chair! An ugly one, but still a chair. Screenshot by Destructoid

  • Level 44 – Grandmaster: Hope you’ve been polishing up on your chess skills! In this level, you have to win one game of chess. And if you lose, you gain one extra queen. It’s a consolation prize, but a prize nonetheless.
  • Level 45 – Jessica: Break up with your AI girlfriend. How hard can it be? I don’t know why exactly, but I passed this level by telling her I slept with her mom and then saying I loved her. For some reason, that worked.
  • Level 46 – Floors: For this level, you need to select all squares on the 64th floor of the Empire State Building. Don’t feel like counting? Yeah, I don’t blame you. In that case, refer to the image below to see which row of squares to click.

The third row down from the top of the building to the left of the Empire State Building. Screenshot by Destructoid.

Level 47 – Din Don Dan: Do you hate this as much as me? Somehow I managed to get an 88 percent accuracy rhythm. Dance to the rhythm using the key strokes as they appear on the screen, and with a high enough accuracy rating, you too will be able to move on to the next level.

Level 48 – The Inventor: The 48th and final level of I’m Not a Robot is a video from the man himself, the inventor of the CAPTCHA, Luis von Ahn. He congratulates you on completing the game, and you can download your very own certificate of humanity.

15 Tips And Tricks To Know Before Playing

by admin September 23, 2025

Dying Light: The Beast is here, and despite some odd issues with super rain (which should be all fixed up now), I’ve been having a wonderful time with Techland’s open-world zombie RPG. After spending over a dozen hours with it, as well as playing the past games in the series, I have some tips to share with folks either hopping in for the first time or looking for some extra help during their next zombie-killin’ session.

Kick! Kick! And Kick Some More!

As with past Dying Light games, you have a kick button. And you should use it and use it often. Kicking the undead doesn’t use much stamina and can keep them from grabbing you, something they love to do in this game. Plus, you can kick them off roofs and ledges for easy kills that never stop being funny.

Grab The Drop Kick Skill ASAP

Speaking of kicking zombies, very early on in Dying Light: The Beast, you gain access to the game’s skill tree. Once that happens, prioritize getting the drop kick ability. This lets you do a more powerful two-footed jump kick that can send multiple zombies and human baddies flying far away. I love to drop-kick zombies into other zombies.

..And Then Get The Safe Landing Skill Next

Oh, and on the topic of great skills to grab early on, I’d also shout out the safe landing skill found in the top section of the skill tree. It lets you drop from extreme heights and take no damage by holding the crouch button right before you land. It saved my ass many times, and it will save your zombie-killing butt, too. Trust me.

Don’t Get Attached To Weapons

You’ll likely find some really powerful and deadly melee weapons in Dying Light: The Beast. Big hammers, flaming machetes, etc. All of that stuff is fun to use and can mow down zombies quickly. But don’t get too attached. Weapons can only be repaired so many times, as identified in the menu and weapon wheel, and once you’ve used up their repairs, that’s it. If you have a specific weapon’s blueprint, then you can craft it repeatedly, but if not, you might want to be cautious with the cool exotic knife you found in a random apartment.

How To Throw Weapons In Dying Light: The Beast

When a weapon is out of repairs and about to break, you could dismantle it, or you could just toss it at a zombie, giving it one last hurrah. But for some reason, The Beast does a poor job of explaining that you can toss weapons. To do so on a controller, hold the attack button and then click the right stick. On keyboard, hold the attack button and then hit F. If done correctly, you’ll toss your hammer or sword or whatever at the zombie ahead of you and hopefully crack it in the face.

Always Unlock New Safehouses And Towers

When out and about in The Beast, you’ll occasionally spot towers and safehouse icons on the map. Head to these the moment you see them, no matter what you’re doing. Once you activate these locations, they become safe zones that can save you from the night, which is very dangerous in the game, and can also act as a spawn point when you die.

When Farming Loot, Walk Away From The Bodies To Save Time

Here’s a trick I’ve been using since the first Dying Light game. If you’ve just killed a large horde of zombies and have a dozen or more corpses to search, don’t waste your time searching each one for loot. This takes a while and is tedious. Instead, run away at least a few hundred feet or so and then turn back around. When you return, the corpses should all be gone and replaced with little grey bags containing whatever loot each zombie was carrying. These can just be picked up instantly, no annoying animation needed. And better yet, if a zombie had nothing on them, then no bag is left behind, saving you even more time.

You Get Double XP At Night, But Be Careful

And hey, if you’re going to farm hordes of zombies using Molotov cocktails and then pick up all their little loot bags, I’d recommend doing so at night. You get double XP for all your actions during the night, which helps you level up much faster.

Sure, when the sun goes down in Dying Light: The Beast, you have to avoid deadly, fast, and hard-to-kill super zombies. But if you stick near a safehouse or tower and use the method I outlined above, you can always just run back to safety before they get you and farm a lot of loot, resources, and XP in the process.

Use Your Survivor Sense Ping To Quickly Spot Loot

Kyle Crane has a nifty and useful “Survivor Sense” ability from the moment you start Dying Light: The Beast. Use this! It will mark loot and searchable containers near you, making it easier to grab some supplies and get out. It also marks human enemies and special infected, too, which can help you avoid them or get the drop on them and take them out like a ninja.

Pick Up Every Weapon And Dismantle Them For Extra Resources

Yes, grab that crappy crowbar or the shitty broken bat. Grab it all. Then head to your inventory and dismantle those items. You’ll get a lot of extra resources that you can use to craft better gear and weapons, and repair the weapons you actually use.

Keep An Eye Out For Random Events

While running around the city and countryside, you might spot a blue icon on your compass. This is a random event, and you should try, if you can, to check these out whenever they appear. Sometimes you’ll find armed guards and good loot. Other times, it might be a person being held hostage by raiders. Or it might just be a random survivor being attacked by a zombie. Completing these awards gives you XP and other goodies.

… Maybe Kill Hostages After Saving Them

Okay, listen, you don’t have to do this. But, as far as I can tell, once you’ve saved a hostage and grabbed the reward from them, the game doesn’t track what happens next. So if you were to kill them and take their weapon so you can dismantle it for some extra resources, nobody in the game will ever know or care. Do I do this? Maybe. Do I feel bad? Yes. Do I have lots of scrap and screws? You better believe it, bucko.

You Can Unlock Safes Without The Code

Sometimes you’ll encounter locked safes in Dying Light: The Beast. You might think that the only way to unlock them is to find the safe’s combination. But you can also just unlock them by slowly turning the safe’s dial and feeling for a vibration. This will let you crack any safe without the combination. This feature is carried over from Dying Light 2, and it’s great.

Borderlands 4’s Big Jump Glitch Is Wild And Won’t Be Patched

by admin September 22, 2025

A newly discovered bug in open-world looter shooter Borderlands 4 is letting players use a specific legendary gun to fling themselves across large sections of the game’s map. It looks wild and could be useful for speedrunners. But Gearbox is watching the glitch and might, if needed, fix it to avoid technical problems.

On September 19, Twitch streamer and content creator Bahroo shared a video of himself playing Borderlands 4 while pulling off a technique known online as “Cricket Jumping.” The bug relies on a legendary handgun known as the “Noisy Cricket” and its powerful kick, which sends players flying backward. The gun itself is a reference to the tiny gun with the same name seen in the ’90s sci-fi comedy film Men In Black. Normally, this isn’t the most useful trait. But if you tab out or pause the game at the right time while charging up a shot with the Noisy Cricket, you can send yourself flying for miles. It’s wild to watch in action.

Cricket Jumping has been a known bug since at least September 16, as demonstrated in this short video uploaded by YouTube user Platinum. But it wasn’t until Bahroo and other bigger streamers and creators began sharing videos of the technique that it caught on more and became more publicly known. And that attention eventually got Cricket Jumping spotted by Borderlands 4′s creative director Graeme Timmins. While you might assume someone from Gearbox would not be happy about this bug, Timmins seemed open to not patching it out, provided it doesn’t break the game.

“I’ve got my eye on this,” replied Timmins to a video of the bug on Twitter. “My only worry is streaming issues or if this introduces instability. Not out to ruin people’s fun, but can’t have it cause tech issues. For now, tho, not going to do anything until proven issues arise.”

So for now, it seems like Gearbox is going to let people Cricket Jump all around Kairos, assuming it doesn’t ruin the game for other players or introduce some nasty, less cool bug. Besides, I imagine Gearbox has a lot more to fix in Borderlands 4 right now, like horrible console performance problems, and isn’t too concerned about a silly super jump bug.

Perfect Dark reboot leak: fresh info suggests studio saw gap in the market with Metal Gear Solid and Bond absent

by admin September 22, 2025

The now-cancelled Perfect Dark reboot had an “eco sci-fi” aesthetic, an Adrenaline System, and may have been released episodically.

That’s according to internal documentation from a former developer on the project at The Initiative shared with mp1st, revealing new artwork and gameplay details.

The document highlighted an opportunity to capitalise on the secret agent genre, due to the absence of Metal Gear Solid and James Bond 007 during development. Ironically enough, both franchises have since returned.

Perfect Dark – Gameplay Reveal – Xbox Games Showcase 2024Watch on YouTube

This may somewhat point to why Perfect Dark was ultimately cancelled – perhaps this reboot of the N64 classic from Rare wasn’t able to differentiate itself enough.

Still, this newly unearthed documentation – which dates back to a period close to the game’s cancellation this year – hints as to what players could have expected. The creative vision for the reboot aimed to reimagine the franchise while retaining the core DNA of the N64 original, with the HBO series Westworld providing inspiration for giving a classic property fresh themes and concepts.

While several systems are briefly mentioned, only the Adrenaline System is detailed. This would’ve been a resource regenerated over time to provide various abilities like healing and increasing damage dealt, as well as slowing time to aim with precision. Killing multiple enemies in quick succession would have extended this effect.

Until April of this year, the studio was working on a vertical slice (a playable proof-of-concept) that belonged to “Season 1”, suggesting the game would have been released episodically.

Perfect Dark was properly revealed at last year’s Xbox Games Showcase, with in-game footage of protagonist Joanna Dark exploring a futuristic Cairo (above). Later, reports suggested this gameplay was fake, though a designer on the game responded it was in-engine despite “some fake stuff in it”.

The new documentation includes further artwork for the game, including an alternate design for Joanna, as well as various futuristic environments to show off its “eco sci-fi” aesthetic.

Perfect Dark was cancelled back in July, following layoffs across Microsoft. Rare’s Everwild was also cancelled.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! Returns Following Disney Boycott

by admin September 22, 2025

Tomorrow, Jimmy Kimmel will return to host his late-night show after it was “indefinitely” put on hold on September 17 by Disney following remarks he made about Charlie Kirk in the wake of the conservative commentator’s assassination earlier this month. The decision prompted a large amount of backlash from fans, actors, and comedians, and led to calls for a Disney boycott.

On September 22, Disney and ABC confirmed via a statement shared with the press that Jimmy Kimmel Live! will return to the air following a near-weeklong hiatus that came after the comedian spoke about Kirk’s assassination and his thoughts on how some Republican politicians, including President Trump, and other conservative commentators acted in the days that followed the shooting.

“Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country,” said Disney and ABC in a statement. “It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive. We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”

Since last week, Marvel and Star Wars actors like Pedro Pascal and Mark Hamill have spoken out publicly against Disney and ABC’s decision to suspend production on Kimmel’s popular late-night talk show after he joked that many members of the “MAGA gang” hit a new “low” after many of them tried to “score political points” from Kirk’s assassination. He also directly called out Trump’s awkward and cold reaction to Kirk’s death when asked multiple times about it, despite Trump claiming to call Kirk a friend. At no point, as documented extensively, did Kimmel joke about Kirk’s death. Yet that didn’t matter. FCC Chairman and Trump loyalist Brendan Carr threatened to investigate ABC and pull its broadcast licenses over Kimmel’s monologue. So Disney Entertainment Co-Chairman Dana Walden and CEO Bob Iger capitulated instantly and shut the show down.

This is a developing story…

Lawsuit over ownership of Sonic theme Live and Learn dismissed, but Fortnite collab proves song remains in “limbo”, says songwriter

by admin September 22, 2025

A lawsuit over the rights to the Sonic the Hedgehog song Live and Learn has been dismissed, but the songwriter claims the song “remains in ‘limbo'”.

Last year, Crush 40 musician and songwriter Johnny Gioeli sued Sega of America over ownership of the Sonic Adventure 2 theme song, ahead of its feature throughout the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 film.

At the time, Gioeli claimed Sega had the rights to the lyrics, but not the “master recording musical composition”. However, “unbeknownst” to the songwriter, the company had “exploited and licensed” the song in “at least 25 video games, television shows, live performances/events and films”.

In a new statement, Gioeli stated the case against Sega was dismissed “based on time, not on ownership” and so the song remains in “limbo”.

The reason for the statement? Sonic’s forthcoming appearance in Fortnite – we reported last week on leaks suggesting Sonic and Shadow are headed to the battle royale.

“Just two weeks ago, I was contacted by Epic Games to potentially use Live and Learn,” stated Gioeli, “and the amazing part is Sega had them call ME for the rights to use the song. So there you have it. The most epic song remains in the ‘abyss of ownership’.”

Gioeli added: “The song is mine. I wrote it with Jun [Senoue], I sing it, I created the melody, I recorded my vocals in my studio, and they do not own it.”

News of the lawsuit emerged last year ahead of both Sonic x Shadow Generations and the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 film, both of which make use of the song in their soundtracks.

Gioeli’s latest comments precede not just the Fortnite collaboration, but the release this week of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.

A leak last week, showed more unannounced DLC is on the way to the racing game.
