Dan Hajducky is a staff writer for ESPN. He has an MFA in creative writing from Fairfield University and played on the men’s soccer teams at Fordham and Southern Connecticut State universities.

A program from the first National Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 1939 signed by all 11 living inductees at the time has sold via Lelands Auctions for just over $315,000. It’s the most ever paid for a program, beating out the $241,500 paid for a 1903 World Series program in 2011.

The Baseball Hall of Fame program is believed to be the only ever signed by all the living inductees present at the event: Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb (who signed the program twice), Walter Johnson, Honus Wager, Cy Young, Tris Speaker, Grover Alexander, Nap Lajoie, George Sisler, Eddie Collins and Connie Mack. The program is also signed by Hall of Famers Mel Ott, Lefty Grove and Johnny Vander Meer, among others.

The consignor’s parents, who were engaged at the time, attended the ceremony on June 12, 1939. They both purchased a program and tried to obtain as many signatures as they could, and the consignor’s mother obtained the autographs of all the living inductees.

“My mother and her fiancé wanted to collect all the autographs of the living HOF players while at the opening of the HOF,” wrote the consignor, whose name wasn’t disclosed. “She got autographs from all except for Ty Cobb who was late. In fact he missed the famous photograph with all the other inductees.”

The consignor went on to write that his mother waited for Cobb, who agreed to give his autograph only if he could have a kiss.

“She gave him a kiss on the cheek, but as she pulled away, he kissed her,” the consignor wrote. “When signing, he said ‘Well, since I got two kisses, I’ll sign it twice.’ Thus the ‘Double Ty’ signature.”

The program includes a letter of authenticity, verifying the veracity of the signatures, by grader and authenticator Professional Sports Authenticator.

Nexon launches investigation into claims AI-generated The First Descendant ads were used on TikTok

by admin August 18, 2025

Nexon said it has launched an investigation after The First Descendant players noticed a number of seemingly AI-generated advertisements on TikTok, including one that used a content creator’s likeness without permission.

The developer/publisher issued a statement after Reddit user iHardlyTriHard penned a viral post collating four AI-like advertisements they had found after “only 10-15 minutes” browsing their For You Page.

The statement did not apologize directly for the AI advertisements but did apologize for “the delay in providing notice as the [investigative] review is taking longer than expected.” Nexon did not, however, explain when it was notified of the adverts, or when it launched its review.

Nexon said it wanted to “inform [players] of certain irregularities identified in the operation of [its] TikTok Creative Challenge for creators,” and said the campaign “allows creators to voluntarily submit their content to be used as advertising materials.” It also stressed that all submitted videos had been “verified through TikTok’s system.”

“However, we have become aware of cases where the circumstances surrounding the production of certain submitted videos appear inappropriate,” the statement added. “Thus, we are conducting a thorough joint investigation with TikTok to determine the facts.

“We sincerely apologize for the delay in providing this notice as the review is taking longer than expected. Once the verification is complete, we will promptly share an update through an official notice. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”

Nexon has yet to respond to DanieltheDemon’s public claim that he “did not consent for my likeness to be used.”

How to throw a lob pass in Madden 26

by admin August 18, 2025

Passing is a core skill in Madden 26, and the lob pass is one of the most important to master. With the right timing, it can sail over defenders and land perfectly in your receiver’s hands, turning risky plays into game-changing touchdowns.

If you want to master the lob pass, here’s everything you need to know about executing a perfect lob pass in Madden 26.

How to throw a lob pass in Madden 26, explained

Close encounters with the cornerbacks. Image via EA Orlando

To throw a lob pass as a quarterback in Madden 26, choose a play that gives your receivers space to get open, then quickly tap the receiver’s icon to loft the ball their way. On PC, your receivers will have the Q, E, R, F, and Space buttons, so you can tap them to quickly lob the pass to one of your receivers.

On PlayStation, your receivers would be X, Circle, Square, Triangle, or R1, and you can simply tap on them to send a lob pass their way. On Xbox, your receiver keys change to A, B, X, Y, and RB so you can tap the button to send it their way. Now, tapping at the right time makes a world of difference because making it perfect allows your receiver to get the football and avoid the tackles from the nearby defenders.

Don’t rely on the lob pass for every touchdown attempt, since defenders can easily read it and pick you off. Unlike other passes, the ball hangs in the air longer with the lob passes, giving cornerbacks extra time to adjust, close the gap, and make a play on it. Mixing in bullet and touch passes will keep defenders guessing and make your offense much harder to stop.

Lastly, you can fine-tune the settings by going to the passing subsettings. You can play around with the passing type, slow, lead increase, and reticle speed to increase the accuracy of your passes, which makes it easier to lead those lob passes in the right places.

Next up, you can read our guides to do a one-hand catch and all the Combine interview answers in Madden 25.

Ohio State names second-year player Julian Sayin starting QB

by admin August 18, 2025

College football reporter; joined ESPN in 2008. Graduate of Northwestern University.

Ohio State has named second-year player Julian Sayin as its starting quarterback for its highly anticipated season opener against No. 1 Texas at Ohio Stadium.

Coach Ryan Day on Monday announced the decision, noting that Sayin won a close competition against junior Lincoln Kienholz but “separated himself, really, over the last week with his consistent play.” Sayin, the nation’s No. 9 recruit and top prospect from California in 2024, signed with Alabama but transferred to Ohio State following coach Nick Saban’s retirement.

Day met with the quarterbacks Monday morning to inform them of the decision.

“Our guys are confident again with both quarterbacks; we’ll need both quarterbacks,” Day said. “Lincoln did a lot of great things, but we’re going to name Julian the starter here, give him the majority of the reps with the [starters] and go prepare to beat Texas.”

Sayin appeared in four games for Ohio State in 2024, logging 27 snaps and completing 5 of 12 passes for 84 yards and a touchdown. He entered the offseason as the favorite to win the job, earning praise from several Ohio State players who moved on to the NFL from the national championship team. But Kienholz, who has not played since the 2023 Cotton Bowl against Missouri, when he completed 6 of 17 passes for 86 yards, made a legitimate push for the top job, showcasing athleticism and other traits.

Day said that dividing practice reps becomes more difficult when preparing to face an opening opponent like Texas the closer you get to the game. Sayin’s recent surge put him over the top.

“You’re always looking for consistency and taking care of the football,” Day said. “When you start with practice 1 in the spring and do a study on the entire growth over six months, you can see there’s a lot of growth made. You look at the numbers and the production, we felt like [Sayin] was in a situation where he was ready to go play in this game.

“We also feel like Lincoln’s ready to play, but overall, Julian is more consistent.”

Kienholz will serve as Sayin’s backup against the Longhorns, whom Ohio State beat in the CFP semifinal at the Cotton Bowl in January. Freshman Tavien St. Clair, the No. 10 overall recruit in the 2025 class, will be third on the depth chart.

Day said Kienholz handled the news well and practiced well Monday with good energy.

“He knows in his heart he’s going to play this year,” Day said. “He’s a competitor, I’m sure he wants to play in the first game, but I wouldn’t say he’s discouraged. … The team knows that we’re going to need him, and he knows.”

Day opened his news conference Monday by declining to comment on the NCAA penalties handed down to archrival Michigan for the sign-stealing scandal, which included a significant fine and a three-game suspension for coach Sherrone Moore, two of which will be served during the 2025 season.

Battlefield 6 Secure Boot requirement killed my PC, EA should be responsible

Battlefield 6 Secure Boot requirement killed my PC, EA should be responsible

by admin August 18, 2025

My motherboard died in the fight against Battlefield 6 cheating. Just turn on Secure Boot, they said. Just follow directions, they said. It’s easy, they said. You just, y’know, push a button. Click on something and it works, no problems. Watch YouTube videos. It’s easy!

I am one of the hundreds (if not thousands) of people whose PC suffered as a result of EA and DICE’s quest to crush cheating in Battlefield 6. I understand why they want to do this: It negatively impacts the experience of hundreds (or possibly thousands) of PC players, and Battlefield 6 is looking to be a return to form for the franchise, and EA doesn’t want anything getting in the way of that narrative. Therefore, EA requires PC players to run their PCs with Secure Boot enabled when playing Battlefield 6 – even in the beta. But forcing all players to enable Secure Boot shifts the responsibility onto the players. This is EA’s problem to solve, not the players. And since this is their problem for the game they decided to develop so that we can buy and enjoy, they should be responsible for what happens to the machines of those who play their games.

According to Microsoft, Secure Boot is a security feature that is “designed to prevent malicious software from loading when your PC starts up (boots).” In very simplistic terms, cheating software is not, by default, malicious software. It’s the EA Javelin anti-cheat’s job to, basically, tell the PC that cheating software is malicious, and to disable it while the game is active. On paper, activating it should not have been complicated. For many players, it was not. Open the BIOS, enable Secure Boot. Done. But for others, it was much more complicated and had devastating effects.

I bought a pre-built PC just before Secure Boot was enabled by default. I had my PC installed with the Gigabyte Aorus X299 Gaming 3 Pro. It served my needs as a content creator and, at the time, mid-range gaming. I didn’t need the fanciest of graphics, just good framerate, lots of RAM, and the ability to connect my different cards into the PCIE slots. I have had zero problems with it until this year, when the PSU failed (easy fix), and then with Battlefield 6.

Before this pre-built PC, I built my first PC, but I didn’t mess with the BIOS much. I didn’t need to. It functioned well, everything worked, and games didn’t require me to fiddle with internal settings. I wasn’t interested in overclocking, and I sold it to a friend before any problems arose so I could get a PC more suitable for gaming and streaming. After I bought my pre-built, I didn’t need to mess with those BIOS settings, either. It wasn’t until this year that I wanted to upgrade my PC to Windows 11 that I had to make a change in my BIOS.

For months, I couldn’t upgrade to Windows 11 even though I met the system requirements. Eventually, I decided to look up why. I needed to activate TPM 2.0–Trusted Platform Module. I knew how to access the BIOS, but I didn’t know where to look for the TPM setting. After watching a few YouTube videos, I successfully activated TPM 2.0 and upgraded my OS to Windows 11. Simple enough.

Fast-forward to the Battlefield 6 beta. Like many people, I wanted to mess around with the Battlefield 6 settings before the beta’s launch. Also, like many others, I received the message that I needed to enable Secure Boot to open Battlefield 6. Back to the BIOS! I looked up more YouTube videos, and what I discovered between enabling TPM and now looking into Secure Boot, there were no videos that navigated my specific motherboard’s BIOS. The previous videos I used to activate TPM forced me to make educated guesses based on other Gigabyte BIOS menus, but none were exactly the same as my menu setup. I realized this was going to be much more involved.

I checked my system information. Indeed, Secure Boot was not activated. No worries. I entered the BIOS and navigated the menus searching for Secure Boot. I didn’t see it. After some Reddit sleuthing, Gigabyte users commented on how to make the option appear by disabling the CSM. And it worked. According to a video of a Gigabyte user, it was as simple as enabling it, ignoring the message that popped up, saving, and then restarting the computer. Secure Boot enabled! I checked the system information and Secure Boot was not enabled. Weird.

I re-entered the BIOS and found the Secure Boot option again; sure enough, Secure Boot was not enabled. Odd. I enabled it again. This time, I read the message that popped up when I chose to enable it. The message mentioned a specific Platform Key that needed to be enabled. No one mentioned anything about Platform Keys on YouTube and Reddit. I conducted more research, but didn’t find much about my specific situation. I found the menu that contained the Platform Keys and activated the specific Platform Key that the pop-up message requested. I saved and restarted the computer, and, like many other people, I encountered a blank screen on boot.

After hours of troubleshooting, including removing the CMOS battery and tripping the CMOS Reset pins, I noticed the VGA indicator was on. After getting a diagnostic at a repair shop, it was discovered that both PCIE x16 slots were dead, and therefore, so was my motherboard.

I am shocked at the number of people who have had similar problems and even more shocked at the number of people who blame the PC owners. They comment as if they bought a car and understand how the whole thing works. Most people buy cars to drive around, not tinker with the insides. Imagine a car maker sending a message to everyone saying they needed to activate an engine filtering system that would further reduce carbon emissions to meet current regulations (hypothetical here), but it would risk rendering your car inoperable. People would be all over the car manufacturer for even suggesting that anyone try to do that themselves. Act like it’s a recall and have the manufacturer do it for free. If you, car manufacturer, want this feature turned on, it’s your responsibility. And yet, when EA asks a bunch of people who bought their PCs just to play their games and have no idea how to even navigate their BIOS, it’s a user error.

I found EA’s guide to enabling Secure Boot. Interestingly, it has this message:

We live in an age where if there is a problem,  you can Google it, go to Reddit, and search YouTube. Heck, maybe even Twitter has answers. I wonder how many people saw this page or even this warning. Strangely, this is called a “Heads-up” with a small exclamation point. Eh, nothing too big here. Just a chance you could brick your PC if you do this wrong. No worries. No, this should be a “Warning” with big red cautionary symbols. This is not an urgent warning; it’s casual. That’s exactly how EA treated this situation.

I checked the official Battlefield Twitter account, which has 1.5 million followers. There is no mention of Secure Boot. You’ll find messages encouraging players to activate 2FA and making sure their EA accounts are linked correctly. There are also plenty of help and support messages if you’re having trouble with your linked accounts. There’s even a “Before you unlink your account…” message.

I perused the EA Help Twitter account, which has around 750,000 followers. There are messages about linking accounts to Twitch, 2FA, and troubleshooting if you’re having trouble logging in. Again, nothing about Secure Boot. Their YouTube channels offer nothing, as well. The EA Help channel doesn’t have anything related to Battlefield 6, shockingly.

EA made sure everything else was squared away, but when it came to Secure Boot, they treated it as an insignificant problem. Potentially ruining your PC and not being able to play the beta somehow does not hold the same weight as not being able to play the beta because your account is linked incorrectly.

The sheer number of variables required to make a game run on a variety of PCs is tough for developers to navigate, even for professionals. And you’re asking non-tech-savvy people to dig into their systems and give the most general instructions when you know the variability of certain processes. That’s irresponsible.

Riot Games also did this to their Valorant players. Their anti-cheat, Vanguard, forced players to enable Secure Boot. That led to similar situations like mine. All that headache just because they wanted to play a game.

I am not absolving myself from all responsibility. I’m the one who wanted to play the beta on PC, and I’m the one who entered my BIOS and nervously tried to activate Secure Boot. I am aware EA did not make me do this. What I am saying is that EA did not adequately communicate the risks associated with enabling Secure Boot, and they undermined their own warning by providing their own guide, suggesting that changing this setting is, after all, not complicated.

If EA truly wanted to do a solid by the community, their message should have been given after the Secure Boot notification when launching the game, on all their social media channels and shared multiple times a day, and the message should have been “We are asking you to enable Secure Boot so that we can ensure we are able to eliminate as many cheaters as possible. If you are not confident in navigating your BIOS to enable Secure Boot, we highly encourage you to call your manufacturer’s support team. Please do not attempt this on your own.” That’s a message that is supportive, mindful, and does not provide their own general solution that undermines the warning. I would absolutely absolve EA of any responsibility with a message like that, with frequent communication.

More and more people are enjoying PC games than in the past, which has led to the rise of pre-built PCs. People realize that getting the best graphics and framerate comes with PC gaming, but many do not have the expertise or confidence to build their own PC or tinker with inner software, so pre-built PCs are a great option. Since around 2018, pre-built PCs have come with Secure Boot enabled, and for many people, switching it from disabled to enabled is the only option. But for others, that is not the case. EA knows this, and all they did was post a help page, hoping that people would Google it instead of plastering help everywhere, demonstrating care about the community that plays their games.

It’s not about whether Secure Boot should be on or not; it’s the fact that we’re in an era where people are running perfectly fine PCs and are now experiencing issues because EA is set on fighting cheaters in the most extreme way. Activision will do the same with the next Call of Duty. It is assumed that enabling Secure Boot will become the norm for competitive PC games in the future, and then it will be Activision’s responsibility to let their players know in no uncertain terms that it could be risky. EA says they are not responsible. They are. Because when their game doesn’t sell, it’s their fault. They didn’t communicate. They didn’t market the game effectively. It’s all about communication, and they did not communicate this Secure Boot problem effectively.

Puzzle & Dragons studio claims former executive embezzled $2.35 million of company funds

by admin August 18, 2025

GungHo Online Entertainment, the studio behind Puzzles & Dragons, has claimed that a former senior executive embezzled ¥346 million ($2.35 million) by creating fake work and outsourcing orders to misappropriate company funds.

In a statement released on August 14, 2025 (via Automaton), GungHo Online Entertainment alleged that a former senior executive, who was dismissed for disciplinary reasons, had “engaged in misconduct” over the last few years, including the “misappropriation of company funds through the place of fictitious work orders” (via Google Translate).

“The company became aware of the suspicion of fraudulent activity by the former employee and conducted an initial investigation with the support of forensic teams from external law and accounting firms to determine whether the former employee had engaged in fraudulent activity and to clarify the facts of the matter,” GungHo Online Entertainment wrote in the statement.

GungHo Online Entertainment goes on to allege that, as a result of this initial investigation, it “confirmed” the former employee had embezzled approximately ¥246 million ($1.67 million) of company funds by using a third-party job-ordering service to create “fictitious work orders” which named the company as the client and the former employee as the contractor.

In addition, GungHo Online Entertainment alleges that it “confirmed” the former executive had “fraudulently paid outsourcing fees to a business partner despite the fact that no work had actually been performed,” resulting in a further loss of ¥100 million ($680,000).

In response, the company formed an internal investigation team, led by two independent, external auditors and supported by forensic teams from external law and accounting firms.

The investigation has been conducting interviews with those involved and aimed to provide a “detailed investigation into the facts of the fraudulent conduct in question through digital forensics of the devices used by the former employee.”

The team has also been investigating whether there were any similar cases, “analyzing the causes, and formulating measures to prevent recurrence.”

As a result of this alleged misconduct, the employee in question was dismissed on July 24, 2025.

GungHo Online Entertainment claimed in its statement that the alleged fraud was “maliciously and independently committed by the former employee, who was a senior executive with discretion and authority.” The company also claimed the former employee “engaged in cover-up efforts to avoid detection.”

In the statement, GungHo Online Entertainment revealed that it “has been consulting with investigative authorities and holding discussions regarding filing criminal charges.”

“The company is currently in concrete discussions regarding the acceptance of charges against the former employee and is fully cooperating with the investigative activities of the investigative authorities,” the statement reads.

“Therefore, in consideration of the potential hindrance to the investigative activities, the company will refrain from disclosing the details of this misconduct.”

GungHo Online Entertainment apologised for the “inconvenience and concern” the alleged incident may have caused to relevant parties, but said the impact on the company’s financial results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026, is expected to be “minor.”

GungHo Online Entertainment is currently facing a shareholder revolt, with the company due to hold an extraordinary general meeting on September 24, 2025, where shareholders will vote on whether to oust its current CEO and president, Kazuki Morishita.

PlayStation brought together some of the biggest names in the fighting game community for the Ultimate FGC Round Table, where legends and champions debated everything from legacy players to which games take the most skill.

Justin Wong, MenaRD, Arslan Ash, and Nitro all weighed in on whether veterans get too much respect. “I do think legacy players do get too much respect,” Wong admitted, before Mena countered that early pros had to grind without modern resources, adding, “They were godlike anyway.”

The panel quickly turned competitive when Mena claimed he could beat Wong in Street Fighter 4. Wong immediately fired back with a $10,000 wager, leading to a one-game exhibition on stage that Wong ultimately won.

Other hot topics included retirement ages in the FGC, with Arslan suggesting champions in their 40s are proving what’s possible, and which game requires the most skill to win. Multiple players agreed that Street Fighter 6 is the toughest title to dominate, even for the best in the world.

How the Aces saved their season, got back in WNBA playoff hunt

by admin August 18, 2025

The Las Vegas Aces walked onto their home court with something to prove.

Just 24 hours earlier, they suffered a historic 53-point loss to the Minnesota Lynx at home. The Aces were mad and embarrassed. And now, the closest team to a dynasty the WNBA has seen in the past 10 years was fighting for its pride against the expansion Golden State Valkyries.

“We funneled every inch of our energy into that,” Aces point guard Chelsea Gray told ESPN.

The Aces tied a franchise record with 18 3-pointers and beat the Valkyries by 24 points, the largest turnaround in back-to-back games in WNBA history, according to ESPN Research.

“When things aren’t going well, it can make you question some things that maybe you thought you were super strong in,” Las Vegas coach Becky Hammon told ESPN. “When things aren’t going well, it has to go back to the foundations. What is the base problem here?”

For the first two months of the season, the Aces were in and out of the playoff picture, suffered a three-game losing streak and were .500 at the All-Star break. The only team to win consecutive titles in the past 20 years, the Aces performed far below preseason expectations.

But Las Vegas turned it around after its Aug. 2 loss to Minnesota. The Aces have won seven consecutive games and pulled even with the Phoenix Mercury for fourth place in the WNBA standings. A’ja Wilson added to her dominance. The league’s reigning MVP is averaging 26.1 points and 13.3 rebounds during the win streak and has scored at least 30 points in three of the past four games.

The Aces look like they can contend. They might host a first-round playoff series. But the challenge is sustaining the momentum.

“You get excited because you see the potential. You see what they are capable of,” Hammon said. “Now, it’s that consistency. In basketball, anyone can be good for a night. But the great ones, they are good every night.”

A’ja Wilson is averaging 26.1 points and 13.3 rebounds and shooting 48.8% in the Aces’ current seven-game win streak, scoring over 30 points in three of the past four games. Ethan Miller/Getty Images

AS THE ACES tried to recover from their embarrassing loss to the Lynx — Minnesota set a WNBA record for largest road win — Hammon had a new assignment for the team: The players had to create their own scouting reports.

Before the start of each practice session, the Aces, led by Wilson, shared their preferred matchups, schemes and flow of the game. Hammon poked holes in the presentations and encouraged the Aces to challenge her prep, too.

Hammon hoped the collaboration would ignite a new level of engagement and attention to detail. It led to immediate success.

“This has helped us jell together to where we can all hold each other accountable,” Wilson said.

In the loss to the Lynx, Hammon called the Las Vegas defense “atrocious.” Since that defeat, the Aces have had a top-five defense and been the league’s second-best rebounding team. And it helped unlock the Las Vegas offense, which has led the league in offensive rating for the past two weeks.

Hammon’s new assignment has also helped create familiarity and chemistry, something the Aces needed to evolve after Kelsey Plum left for Los Angeles in free agency and Natalie Nakase and Tyler Marsh — the Aces’ top two assistant coaches — took head coaching jobs at Golden State and Chicago, respectively. That trio had helped Las Vegas win WNBA titles in 2022 and 2023.

“It’s absolutely a block party. [A’ja Wilson] isn’t new to this, she’s true to this.”

With six-time All-Star Jewell Loyd and four other new players added to the roster, this year’s team looked and operated differently. But the Aces didn’t anticipate how long it would take to come together.

“Our offense and defense are so fluid that we had to take time to learn and understand new habits,” Gray said. “It’s only when you learn those habits, you can start to form as a team.”

Loyd set a single-season mark for scoring two seasons ago with Seattle, but struggled to find a rhythm with the Aces. She was limited to single digits in six of 11 games in July while shooting 33.6%. Hammon tinkered with different combinations in the starting lineup, but nothing helped. Loyd suggested she come off the bench, but Hammon was reluctant to make the switch.

After Loyd went scoreless in a loss July 25, the guard was adamant that she be removed from the starting unit.

“I didn’t want her to feel like I was giving up on her or losing confidence in her because that was not the case,” Hammon said. “I made that very clear with her. …. As a coach, when a player says they need change, you’ve got to find a change.”

Although Loyd is playing five fewer minutes, she’s scoring five more points per game coming off the bench, averaging 14.6 points in 25 minutes during her 10 games as a reserve.

“We know how to weather storms right now. In the beginning, we couldn’t get that. We didn’t understand that we have a whole new group, top to bottom,” Wilson said. “That takes time and it takes giving each other a lot of grace and a lot of communication.”

A’ja Wilson continues her tear with 34 points in Aces’ win

A’ja Wilson leads the Aces to their seventh straight win with 34 points.

WILSON SENT A group text to her teammates after the Aug. 2 loss to Minnesota. The message was simple: flush this game and move on, but don’t forget the way it made everyone feel.

It wasn’t her first pep talk of the season. The Aces’ early-season struggles led to Wilson becoming a more vocal leader, which has been one of the most important developments of Las Vegas’ season.

“It’s easy to lead when you are winning. Winning disguises a lot of different things” Wilson told ESPN. “But when you are in the trenches and things aren’t going well — when it feels like everyone has something to say about this Aces team — how do you lead that? How do you get all of these minds in one accord to stay poised through the noise?”

For most of her career, she built her leadership style on her playing abilities. The three-time WNBA MVP can take over games. Last week, she became the first player in WNBA history to record a 30-point, 20-rebound game. She’s averaging 22.3 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.1 blocks and 1.6 steals this season, and has scored at least 27 points in five of the past six games. But Wilson is making a point not to force the action.

“I told myself out of All-Star break to just let the game come to me,” Wilson said after a win over Phoenix on Friday. “It’s going to be what it’s going to be. If I try to harp on it or force it because I want this win so bad for my team, it’s like forcing a fart. All you get is s—.”

According to Hammon, Wilson’s growth in her game and leadership has kept the Aces’ locker room intact.

“A lot of times it can fall apart when there is hard time after hard time or you are so close and you lost another one. It’s easy to lose the locker room, not only with myself but them with each other,” Hammon said. “They haven’t done that. They have dug in. My leaders have led when it’s hard and difficult.”

Maintaining trust allowed the Aces to stay confident as they worked out their issues. With nine games left in the regular season, they’re riding the longest active winning streak in the league and vying to secure home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs, which begin Sept. 14.

“This is what it takes to win championships. You have to do it right nine out of 10 times, 10 out of 10 times,” Hammon said. “Just keep demanding that greatness.”
