New Harlowe short graces the Borderlands 4 lead up to launch

by admin August 26, 2025

We saw the first drop on Harlowe last week, and Gearbox keeps adding more flavor to an already delicious Borderlands 4 soup. Today, the team released a character short, which should be amongst the final pieces of intel before launch. Check it out below.

2K and Gearbox Software have shared the Official Character Short for Harlowe the Gravitar, the final entry in an ongoing series about the four all-new Vault Hunters who are wreaking havoc on Kairos in Borderlands 4!

Harlowe is a former Maliwan combat scientist, driven by the need to understand how things work. While this initially made her an outcast amongst her Traunt relatives, Harlowe has used her intellect to bring new tech and gadgetry to the battlefield as a Vault Hunter. Harlowe’s brilliance is apparent in everything she does, but so is her enthusiasm and love for life. Harlowe brings everything to the fight, including her sunny disposition.

In Harlowe’s new Character Short “Family Reunion”, you can watch as Harlowe the Gravitar takes on the Maliwan corporation to reclaim technology she designed, and ends up encountering a Traunt family member in the process.

Borderlands 4 launches worldwide on September 12, 2025 via PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. It will also be coming to Nintendo Switch™ 2 on October 3, 2025, and is now available for pre-order on all platforms!

Kick faces possible $49M fine after French streamer Jean Pormanove dies on air

by admin August 26, 2025

Kick could be hit with a penalty of up to $49 million after the death of French streamer Jean Pormanove, following what has been described as a brutal “ten days and nights of torture” broadcast.

On August 18, 46-year-old Raphaël Graven, better known as Jean Pormanove, died in his sleep while live on Kick. In the days and even months prior, he had reportedly endured extreme violence, sleep deprivation, and forced ingestion of toxic products at the hands of two fellow streamers known as Naruto and Safine.

French politicians called the incident a national disgrace, with Clara Chappaz, France’s minister for digital affairs and AI, vowing to “promptly end this digital Wild West.”

She previously commented that Pormanove had been “humiliated and mistreated for months live on Kick” and criticized the platform’s lack of intervention.

Australian regulators warn Kick could face $49M penalty

Kick could be subject to a penalty of up to $49 million under Australian online safety laws following the death of French streamer Jean Pormanove.

Because Kick is based in Australia, French regulators had limited reach. But Australia’s eSafety Commissioner has now confirmed it is investigating, and warned of steep fines.

“This is a tragic case where someone has lost their life, and underscores how the creation of more extreme content, in this case involving actual violence, can have devastating, real-world consequences,” a spokesperson for the commissioner said.

As reported by The Sydney Morning Herald, the watchdog emphasized that platforms are legally required to safeguard users from harmful or criminal material and to enforce their own terms of service. Violations can carry penalties of up to $49.5 million.

Kick’s community guidelines prohibit “content that depicts or incites abhorrent violence including significant harm, suffering or death.”

“eSafety will use the full range of our enforcement powers as appropriate where there is non-compliance, which can include seeking penalties of up to AUD $49.5m.”

“Platforms like Kick need to be doing more to enforce their own terms of use and minimise harmful content and conduct in streams to protect all users of the service,” the spokesperson added in their statement reported by The Guardian.

Kick could also face future restrictions under Australia’s new child-safety laws coming into effect in December, which may block users under 16 from accessing the platform.

Kick has banned the streamers involved in the broadcasts and cut ties with its French social media agency after backlash over promotional posts that used Pormanove’s image to sell merchandise.

Meanwhile, French police are still investigating. An autopsy concluded there were no signs of external or internal trauma, suggesting Pormanove’s death may have been linked to medical or toxicological causes.

Viral compilation threads have shown Pormanove being hit, strangled, and fired at with paintball guns while streaming with Naruto and Safine, whose lawyers claim they hold “no responsibility.”

“IL ME SÉQUESTRE”

— Impact (@ImpactMediaFR) August 18, 2025

In one message to his mom, sent a few days before his death, Pormanove said he felt like he was “being held hostage” and was “fed up” with the streams.

The streamer’s sister called what he went through “unacceptable.”

Another Kick controversy erupts days later

This tragedy isn’t the only violent incident the platform has faced in recent weeks. On August 23, streamer Raja Jackson, son of UFC legend Rampage Jackson, went viral after storming a wrestling ring at an event put on by KnokX Pro Wrestling, a promotion that, at the time, was part of WWE’s ID (Independent Development) program. Raja was streaming the California-based event live on Kick.

Raja was filmed punching wrestler Syko Stu, real name Stuart Smith, multiple times while he appeared unconscious, triggering an LAPD investigation. Kick banned Raja shortly after the footage spread online.

YouTube icon MrBeast responded to the violence, offering to pay for the veteran-turned-wrestler’s hospital bills.

The WWE subsequently quietly cut ties with KnokX Pro Wrestling the day following the incident by removing all references to the promotion from its official website and unfollowing the company, as well as its owner, WWE legend Rikishi, on its WWE ID X account.

The singer, born Kim Taehyung, bowed toward Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto and delivered a left-handed strike, sparking cheers from the stands while camera phones lit up the ballpark.

V’s appearance came before the Dodgers faced the Cincinnati Reds. It featured a brief hug with two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani in the Dodgers’ dugout, where the K-pop icon — dressed in a No. 7 Dodgers jersey tucked into faded jeans — chatted with pitcher Tyler Glasnow as photographers swarmed.

The night marked another high-profile moment as BTS moves toward a full-group comeback. After completing mandatory military service in South Korea, the members have been working in the U.S. since July, with plans to release a new album in spring 2026.

Police called on Kick streamer ‘pranking’ at Home Depot & Asmongold wants them charged

by admin August 26, 2025

Police were called on a group of content creators after they ‘pranked’ innocent shoppers at a Home Depot. The incident has since gained traction on social media, with Asmongold chiming in, pushing for those involved to be charged.

A group of internet influencers, including Steven Garcia, known online as ‘Konvy’, and ‘Myhouseisdirty’, among others, have landed in hot water after attempting to ‘prank’ Home Depot shoppers.

Konvy, who was broadcasting it all live on Kick, captured one of the group members pretending to work at the shop in Miami, Florida. This group member then turned their water hose on an innocent shopper, continuously spraying them for multiple seconds, and then doing it again.

The agitated woman stormed off, yelling, “This is not ok!” However, she got even more frustrated upon seeing a camera, eventually calling the police and having the group questioned.

Kick streamer banned for Home Depot prank

Kick has since banned Konvy’s channel, removing it from the platform. Various clips have nonetheless spread across social media, revealing the situation in full.

After being ‘pranked,’ the shopper questioned those involved, first asking, “Are you filming this?”

The cameraman responded, lying that he was a “journalist. I walk around and I journal everything.” He even tried to argue that the other member of the group simply “didn’t see [her] while spraying the hose.”

Police were called and soon arrived on the scene, questioning the group. Myhouseisdirty has since uploaded an Instagram story picturing two police officers on the case. At the time of writing, there are no further details on whether charges have been pressed.

Asmongold calls for Kick ‘pranksters’ to be charged

With clips from the incident blowing up across social media, one such post caught the attention of fellow influencer, Asmongold.

The mega-popular streamer pushed for the group to be “charged with assault,” arguing these types of ‘pranks’ “need to stop. They won’t until there are actual consequences.”

Angels’ Ron Washington had quadruple bypass, eyes ’26 return

by admin August 26, 2025

Aug 25, 2025, 05:18 PM ET

ARLINGTON, Texas — Los Angeles Angels manager Ron Washington said Monday he is recovering from quadruple bypass heart surgery. It’s the first time he has publicly addressed the health issues that have sidelined him since late June.

He made the announcement while visiting the Angels for the first time since the operation eight weeks ago in California, calling it a day he had been looking forward to while recovering at his home in New Orleans. He is not returning to manage this season, but hopes to have that opportunity next year. He said he should be fully recovered by December.

“(Doctors) told me by the time I reach eight weeks I could start doing some light work, but my light work was to come up to Texas and be with the team,” said Washington, at 73 the oldest manager in the majors. “I feel great, I really do. … I didn’t come here to work, I came here to be around my guys and have fun with them.”

Washington last managed a game June 19 against the Yankees. The following day, the Angels said he was out indefinitely because of health issues after experiencing shortness of breath and appearing fatigued toward the end of that four-game series in New York.

After being cleared by Yankees doctors to fly home with his team, even though they initially wanted to keep him in New York, Washington underwent a series of tests in California. He said an angiogram there showed blockage in his valves that couldn’t be fixed by stents.

“This happened fast,” said Washington, who was hospitalized June 23, had surgery June 30 and was discharged July 7.

The Angels, without elaborating then, announced June 27 that he was on medical leave for the rest of the season.

“What happened to me saved my life,” said Washington, who added that he has quit smoking, changed his eating habits and is sleeping better. At one point, he raised the Angels hoodie he was wearing to reveal the scars from the surgery.

Washington wasn’t so sure he had made it in the immediate aftermath of the procedure, when isolated and connected to medical monitors.

“Actually I thought I was dead because I was laying someplace where they had put me for a few days, and I said I didn’t make it,” he said. “So I started pulling stuff off, and the guy saw me doing it, and he came running in and he grabbed my hand. He said, ‘What’s going on?’ I said, ‘Am I dead?’ He said, ‘No, you’re here.’ Really.”

The well-liked Washington spoke before the opener of a three-game series in Texas. He plans to continue on to Houston with the Angels before skipping the final stop of the road trip in Kansas City, then hopes to be with the team the rest of the season after they return home.

“It’s awesome. … He looks like himself. I’m just really glad to see him out here, and I know everybody here is pretty excited,” outfielder Jo Adell said. “He’s bouncing back and making it a point to get back here with us. I think it’s big for everybody. I think it speaks to who he is.”

Washington is the Rangers’ winningest manager with a 664-611 record from 2007-14. He led them to their first two World Series appearances in 2010 and 2011.

After initially returning to the A’s organization for two seasons, Washington was on the Atlanta Braves’ staff from 2017-23 and part of their 2021 World Series championship.

With a young roster after Shohei Ohtani’s departure in free agency and with three-time AL MVP Mike Trout limited to 29 games because of injuries, the Angels went 63-99 last year to set a franchise record for losses in Washington’s first season as their manager. They were 36-38 before Washington left the dugout this year, and went into Monday night’s game 25-31 with Ray Montgomery filling in for him.

“His face lit up. It was good just to have him around. I know being in the clubhouse and being back around the team, it was good for him,” Montgomery said Monday. “I think the nature of how it happened and everything happened so quickly, guys didn’t get a chance to really see him off.”

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy, who led Texas to its first World Series title two years ago, is the next oldest manager in the majors. The four-time World Series champion, who turned 70 in April, came into the interview room and went onto the podium to give Washington a hug.

“Yeah, it was good to see him, wasn’t it?,” Bochy said. “I like Wash a lot. As I told him, it is good to him in a uniform. It seems like he’s doing well.”

Cracker Barrel keeps controversial rebrand but admits they “could’ve done better”

by admin August 25, 2025

Cracker Barrel is sticking with its new logo and modern redesign despite heavy backlash, admitting the rollout could have been handled better.

The Southern restaurant chain faced criticism after dropping its long-time image of a man sitting by a barrel, affectionately known as Uncle Hershel, in favor of a text-only logo.

Alongside the rebrand, Cracker Barrel has been updating its restaurants with sleeker, modern interiors, ditching the rustic Americana style the brand has long been known for.

Cracker Barrel responds to backlash

On August 25, the company released a statement acknowledging the uproar.

“If the last few days have shown us anything, it’s how truly deeply people care about Cracker Barrel. We’re truly grateful for your heartfelt voices,” the company said. “You’ve also shown us we could’ve done a better job sharing who we are and who we’ll always be.”

“The things people love most about our stores aren’t going anywhere: rocking chairs on the porch, a warm fire in the hearth, peg games on the table, unique treasures in our gift shop, and vintage Americana with antiques pulled straight from our warehouse in Lebanon, Tennessee.”

Cracker Barrel emphasized that while the logo has changed, the values of the brand remain the same: “hard work, family, and scratch-cooked food made with care.”

As for Uncle Hershel, Cracker Barrel stressed he is still “family,” appearing on menus, road signs, and in stores, just not in the main logo. Furthermore, they stated that their biggest focus is what’s “in the kitchen and on your plate.”

Cracker Barrel customers still unhappy with rebrand

The reassurance has done little to calm critics. On Facebook, Cracker Barrel’s post drew more laugh and angry reactions than likes.

Article continues after ad

“If Cracker Barrel still loves Uncle Hershel, and he’s still on the menu, why spend money to purposely change the outside sign to NOT include him?” one user asked.

Another blasted the modern look: “The new interior looks like a sterile, institutionalized retirement home. The cabin-y look is what made CB unique.”

Despite the backlash, Cracker Barrel is standing firm. As reported by Fox News, the company cited research showing 87% of respondents either liked or loved the new design.

Whether customers adjust to the new look or keep demanding the return of the old logo remains to be seen, but for now, Cracker Barrel isn’t turning back.

Saints release veteran RB Cam Akers in initial cuts

Katherine Terrell came back to ESPN to cover the New Orleans Saints in the summer of 2022. She left the company in 2019 after joining in 2016 to cover the Cincinnati Bengals. Katherine is a graduate of LSU and a Baton Rouge, Louisiana, native, and she has covered the NFL since 2013.

METAIRIE, La. — The New Orleans Saints released veteran running back Cam Akers, the Saints announced Monday.

Akers, a 2020 second-round draft pick, signed with the Saints in June and has been competing for a backup spot behind Alvin Kamara. Akers was released as part of a wave of 14 transactions the Saints made ahead of Tuesday’s roster cut deadline.

“NFL a crazy place,” Akers wrote on X on Monday, adding a crying face emoji to his post.

“Difficult one, because he’s a really good running back in this league,” Saints coach Kellen Moore said Monday. “He can contribute for us, we just felt like, the depth of that room, Kendre [Miller] did a phenomenal job. … We have a number of other guys we feel like can provide some roles. We’ll finalize the rest of this running back group, but we feel like we have a really good group there.”

Akers began his career with the Los Angeles Rams and has played for the Houston Texans and the Minnesota Vikings in two separate stints. The Texans traded him to the Vikings last season, and he played in 12 games, carrying the ball 64 times for 297 yards and a touchdown. He also caught 10 passes for 52 yards and two touchdowns while with Minnesota last year.

The Saints have not finalized their 53-man roster, but currently have Kamara, Miller, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Devin Neal, Marcus Yarns and Velus Jones Jr. in their running back room.

Stableronaldo claims his ex-management team wanted to viewbot him to secure Kick deal

by admin August 25, 2025

Stableronaldo has revealed shocking details about how his former management team wanted the Twitch star to use viewbots to land him a deal with Kick.

Viewbotting consists of artificially raising a streamer’s total viewers through automated programs, giving the illusion that a creator is more popular than they actually are.

Twitch has been cracking down on viewbotting after years of creators calling out the Amazon-owned platform for not doing enough to deal with the problem.

Article continues after ad

According to Kick co-founder Trainwreck, some streamers are paying as much as $20,000 a week for advanced bots. Meanwhile, Devin Nash has warned that the majority of Twitch’s top 500 streamers are viewbotting.

Amid an ongoing discussion about talent agencies and orgs purposely botting (sparked by xQc), Stableronaldo revealed that he was encouraged to bot.

I’ve been thinking, WHY orgs would bot heavily? Then the answer seemed almost obvious. Talent agencies receive a % from ad streams their talent does. By inflating their streamers they can sell massive ad packages in bulk and take in much higher sums. To put simply, fraud.

— xQc (@xQc) August 23, 2025

Stableronaldo says former management plotted to viewbot his numbers

During an August 2025 Twitch stream, the FaZe star explained how his former management wanted to use bots to boost his numbers and secure a deal at Kick, which they’d get a cut of.

Article continues after ad

Article continues after ad

“Old management that people don’t even know about were like, ‘If you go to Kick right now, we will bot your numbers on Twitch so you can get a Stake deal so when you go to Kick, we will also bot your numbers so we get a percent,’” he claimed. “That’s what I was told.”

The streamer further alleged that this was around the time Kick started in 2023, and this offer was proposed to him by someone he used to work with who then came back to him.

Article continues after ad

“‘We’re gonna bot your numbers so you have a little more viewership… I’ll do this for you if I get a percent,’” Ronaldo recalled his former management saying.

Kick doesn’t offer streamers big deals anymore and instead looks to bring creators over naturally by encouraging multistreaming.

This claim comes as Twitch’s viewership took a significant hit after the Amazon-owned platform started cracking down on viewbots.
