New Game of the Week: Rooftops & Alleys brings back the joy of Mirror’s Edge-style parkour

by admin May 22, 2025

Parkour-focused games like Mirror’s Edge and Free Running have all but vanished – but solo indie developer Michel Losch wants to bring them back. His upcoming title, Rooftops & Alleys, aims to revive the genre, handing players full control to flow through urban landscapes with style and freedom.

Parkour once had a real moment in pop culture. From Jason Bourne and James Bond thrilling moviegoers with high-octane on-foot pursuits, to the likes of Assassin’s Creed and Mirror’s Edge bringing the experience to the comfort of your couch, it was everywhere. In recent years though, it’s been pushed to the background. Instead of being the core of the experience, it’s often tacked on, buried in larger creations.

On the gaming front, Assassin’s Creed or Dying Light come to mind, as games where movement is important, but it’s mostly automated: just hold a direction and tap a button. It’s been a long time since players had real agency – and consequences – for how they move.

Finally bringing it back into the spotlight, Michel Losch is hoping to reinvigorate that sense of joy when flowing through construction yards and modern metropolises, tricking your way from one surface to the next as quickly as possible. Here’s how Rooftops & Alleys is restoring the fun.

What is Rooftops & Alleys?

Parkour is ostensibly about getting from Point A to Point B in as little time as possible. That could mean vaulting over a ledge, jumping across a gap, or sliding down a slanted surface to get there. Meanwhile, freerunning is about adding some flair to the movement. Flipping, spinning, and generally tricking along a path to really show off.

Rooftops & Alleys mixes them both. You’ll be sprinting through maps in the most stylish ways possible for extra points in a bid to outclass your friends. It’s not just about the destination, but the fun of the journey.

Some challenges are on a timer, demanding you reach an area as quickly as possible, passing through all the right checkpoints along the way. An on-foot race with only your technical skill standing in the way of a gold medal.

Others will ask for high scores on tricky lines, forcing you and your crew to think outside the box on how you’re going to approach a certain obstacle. Is flipping over it the coolest way to make it past? Or would latching onto it and then flipping off give you a bigger multiplier? Much like how you mastered levels in Tony Hawk’s games, you’ll need to put some work in to master the stages here as well.

There’s even a tag mode that’s non-stop fun as you chase and evade friends with all the dazzling tricks you’ve learned thus far.

ML Media / Radical TheoryThe world is your freerunning oyster in Rooftops & Alleys.

What the devs say about it

What were your inspirations?

“As far as the idea goes, I can’t really say I’ve been practicing parkour professionally! But I always found it cool whenever I saw it in movies. Mostly, I took a lot of inspiration from games like Mirror’s Edge, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, Skate, as well as Freerunning on PS2. So many games that fell into it.

“I like freedom, and I like creative expression in games. I always like getting into a flow state with a game. I was missing something where I could just jump and be able to frontflip, trick, I felt something so satisfying in that. I always wanted to make something like that.

“I have inhaled parkour for the last two years. Just tried to fill my brain with reference footage basically.

“I’ve never talked about this, but I tried to take an approach where I looked at other sports too. I found out about Death Diving, which has nothing to do with parkour. I wanted to add more tricks, so I’ve added some from the sport of Death Diving, diving in general, seeing how I can merge something in what I call a parkour and freerunning game.”

How realistic is it?

“I never forgot Jet Set Radio Future. There’s a choice of how realistic vs how arcadey, usually people tend to go a bit more realistic. I just wanted something really snappy and responsive, which I knew from the get-go I wouldn’t be able to make this fully momentum or physics-based. I took heavy inspiration from Jet Set and more arcadey games for that reason.”

ML Media / Radical TheoryWhile not veering completely into the unreal, Rooftops & Alleys harkens back to an old-school arcade game feel.

“Whether you practice parkour or you see it on TV, you just want to do cool stuff. I tried to maintain a somewhat realistic fall distance. I’m trying to get the measurements sort of right.”

Article continues after ad

What do people want from a Parkour game?

“Usually, the shortcomings are the lack of control. I think what people need to understand, I often got comments like ‘this is what Assassin’s Creed should be,’ it proved to me there was an urge for more control and expression.

“But also, I think I have an easier time giving players more control because I do not have to hand them a gun or have them drive a car. I have more buttons to play with. There have been requests to add a grappling hook, but I had to stay strong.”

Article continues after ad

What’s on the horizon?

“Photo Mode is coming. There are some things I’ve teased. There’s definitely more to it than meets the eye. There are some very fun and goofy achievements that people may not see coming. I’ve also put references to some community members in the 1.0 build.

Article continues after ad

“Thus far [through Early Access] I’ve had 30 updates. I plan to continue doing that. I’m already working on post-launch content. I don’t want to spoil it, but there are some really cool and exciting things. Some of which people have been asking for, but some that will come out of nowhere. I’m trying to keep it fresh.”

Rooftops & Alleys is set to launch in full across PS5, Xbox Series X | S, and PC (through Steam) on June 17, 2025.

Updated 2025 top 50 MLB prospects: Anthony, Chandler, more

Now that we’re nearly two months into the 2025 MLB season, many of the best young players going into the season have graduated from top 100 eligibility and a new wave of prospects has started shining.

And since this is also the time of year when the conversation across the sport shifts into trade speculation, it’s the perfect opportunity to update my minor league prospect ranking — just before some of these players appear in deals over the coming months.

Though we have recently updated the rankings of the top 10 prospects in all 30 MLB farm systems (and will continue to do so monthly throughout the season), this is my first update to the offseason top 100 prospects list. You can read that intro for info on the Future Value (FV) tiers and deeper scouting reports. Players in the big leagues are eligible for this update (MLB rookie eligibility rules apply here — 130 at-bats, 50 innings pitched or 45 days on the active roster), but players projected to lose eligibility in the next week or so are not included.

Editor’s Picks

2 Related

To be clear, these are the players who have graduated (or are about to this season), taking them out of the mix for a spot: Roki Sasaki (No. 1 on preseason top 100), Dylan Crews (No. 6), Jackson Jobe (No. 7), Jasson Dominguez (No. 24), Kristian Campbell (No. 26), Jacob Wilson (No. 31), Drake Baldwin (No. 44), Cam Smith (No. 73). Matt Shaw, Nick Kurtz and Agustin Ramirez are included below, but they should graduate within the next month.

Now on to the top 50 MLB prospects, along with those who just missed out.

60 FV Tier

Roman Anthony has ascended to the No. 1 spot in our rankings. Is a call-up to Boston in his immediate future? Cliff Welch/Icon Sportswire

1. Roman Anthony, OF, Boston Red Sox

Anthony held serve as the default top prospect after Sasaki graduated from the No. 1 spot. The only real area for improvement left in Anthony’s offensive game is turning more of his 30-plus-homer-level raw power into home runs with better or more consistent lift/pull to his swing.

2. Bubba Chandler, RHP, Pittsburgh Pirates

Chandler was a raw high school pitching prospect in the 2021 draft, given the time he spent as a quarterback, shortstop and switch-hitter before the Pirates took him in the third round. He’s now a polished, big league-ready potential front-line starter. His high-90s, plus-plus heater is possibly the best in the minor leagues, and he also has two above-average breakers, a plus changeup and above-average command.

3. Leodalis De Vries, SS, San Diego Padres

De Vries gets the edge among a group of three high-upside teenage shortstops appearing in a row. He has the best on-base and pull/lift skills of the three, while also being a switch-hitter who is at least as good defensively at shortstop as the other two. De Vries has the tools to be above average at everything, with potential for 25-30 homers.

4. Sebastian Walcott, SS, Texas Rangers

Walcott has gone from a long shot shortstop to now looking like an average long-term defender at the position, as is sometimes the case with big, athletic infielders (like current Rangers shortstop Corey Seager). Walcott has the most power of the three teen shortstops, with a shot to one day hit 40 homers, though his soft skills (on-base, pull/lift) are a notch behind De Vries.

5. Jesus Made, SS, Milwaukee Brewers

You heard about him here first last summer, when I put him at No. 45 in my August top 100 while he was still playing in the Dominican Summer League. When watching Made, I can’t help but see some of the same actions and posture of Ozzie Albies, but Made is five or six inches taller so he has more physical upside. To wit: Made’s exit velos (he just turned 18 this month) are within a tick or two of Albies’ career bests. It’s too early to know exactly what position he’ll end up playing (shortstop or second base) or what his ultimate offensive profile will be, but he looks like a potential star.

6. Marcelo Mayer, SS, Boston Red Sox
7. Jordan Lawlar, SS, Arizona Diamondbacks

Mayer and Lawlar have been ranked very close to each other (or literally back-to-back) going all the way back to the 2021 draft, and here they are again. Lawlar is back in the big leagues after a strong start, and Mayer is in Triple-A and seems like an option to debut later this season. Lawlar is a better runner and defender, and Mayer is a left-handed hitter and a better pure hitter.

8. Max Clark, OF, Detroit Tigers
9. Walker Jenkins, OF, Minnesota Twins

I’ve also had Clark and Jenkins basically back-to-back since they both went in the top five picks in the 2023 draft. Injuries have limited how much Jenkins has been on the field, but he has been outstanding when he plays: a plus-plus hitter with plus power who can help at all three outfield spots. Clark is a plus-plus runner who is a definite center fielder and has solid-average raw power, but his hit tool and approach are plus.

10. Colt Emerson, SS, Seattle Mariners
11. Kevin McGonigle, SS, Detroit Tigers

Emerson and McGonigle both were selected in the back half of the first round as high school hitters in the 2023 draft. Both are possible shortstops who will probably play more second base in the big leagues, especially if their teams have a plus defender there. They are plus hitters with a good approach and above-average raw power projections, along with some feel to get to it in games.

Passan predicts MLB mega-contracts

Who will be the next star to get $100 million? $300 million? $600 million!?
Jeff Passan »

12. Chase Burns, RHP, Cincinnati Reds

Burns might not look like a command specialist with his loud delivery and upper-90s fastball, but he’s in the strike zone an awful lot. His 86-90 mph slider is possibly the best breaking ball in the minor leagues, and his fastball sits 96-100 mph.

13. Samuel Basallo, C, Baltimore Orioles
14. Dalton Rushing, C, Los Angeles Dodgers

Both Basallo and Rushing are solid (but not great) defenders with power-over-hit profiles. Rushing just got called up, and Basallo is already in Triple-A and still only 20 years old. Rushing has a much better approach — Basallo still chases too much — but Basallo has three grades more raw power, so he gets the edge due to upside and age.

15. Travis Bazzana, 2B, Cleveland Guardians
16. Aidan Miller, SS, Philadelphia Phillies

Miller is a shortstop who probably slides over to third base in the big leagues, and Bazzana should stick at second base. Bazzana is a slightly better runner and on-base threat, and Miller has more raw power. I’ll go with Bazzana’s soft skills, but their outlooks at the big league level are similar. (Bazzana will sit out at least eight to 10 weeks because of an oblique strain.)

17. Josue De Paula, LF, Los Angeles Dodgers

I can’t get the Yordan Alvarez comparison I heard at least a year ago out of my head when evaluating De Paula. He won’t offer much speed or defensive value, but he has 30-homer upside and a great approach.

55 FV Tier

Jac Caglianone is off to a strong start in the minors. Will the 2024 draft pick make his Kansas City debut this season? AP Photo/Lindsey Wasson

18. Jac Caglianone, 1B, Kansas City Royals
19. Konnor Griffin, SS, Pittsburgh Pirates
20. Jett Williams, SS, New York Mets
21. Zyhir Hope, OF, Los Angeles Dodgers
22. Bryce Rainer, SS, Detroit Tigers
23. Andrew Painter, RHP, Philadelphia Phillies
24. Nick Kurtz, 1B, Athletics
25. Ethan Salas, C, San Diego Padres
26. Chase Dollander, RHP, Colorado Rockies
27. Carson Williams, SS, Tampa Bay Rays
28. Noah Schultz, LHP, Chicago White Sox
29. Arjun Nimmala, SS, Toronto Blue Jays
30. Jacob Misiorowski, RHP, Milwaukee
31. Cole Young, SS, Seattle Mariners
32. J.J. Wetherholt, SS, St. Louis Cardinals
33. Kyle Teel, C, Chicago White Sox
34. George Lombard Jr., SS, New York Yankees
35. Thomas White, LHP, Miami Marlins

30 years of Coors Field horror stories

For three decades, baseball at altitude has bruised ERAs and egos. Here’s what it’s really like taking MLB’s scariest mound. Story »

Caglianone continues to make progress, but there are some other big arrow-up prospects from the 2024 draft here, with Griffin, Rainer and Kurtz all up a good bit. Griffin’s swing concerns have calmed significantly, and his upside is still very high. Rainer has hit more and shown more power than I expected, and Kurtz’s shoulder issues seem to have been overstated at draft time. I’ve always been high on Williams, and he’s back to being healthy and performing — as is Painter. Misiorowski is throwing strikes in Triple-A … which could be for real? Nimmala, Hope and Lombard are some arrow-up hitters who were distinct possibilities to do so when they appeared on the preseason list.

50 FV Tier

Moises Ballesteros collected his first major league hit during a brief May call-up by the Cubs. Sam Navarro/Imagn Images

36. Moises Ballesteros, C, Chicago Cubs
37. Emmanuel Rodriguez, OF, Minnesota Twins
38. Matt Shaw, 3B, Chicago Cubs
39. Luke Keaschall, 2B, Minnesota Twins
40. Angel Genao, SS, Cleveland Guardians
41. Coby Mayo, 3B, Baltimore Orioles
42. Jonny Farmelo, CF, Seattle Mariners
43. Alfredo Duno, C, Cincinnati Reds
44. Cade Horton, RHP, Chicago Cubs
45. Bryce Eldridge, 1B, San Francisco Giants
46. Brady House, 3B, Washington Nationals
47. Agustin Ramirez, C, Miami Marlins
48. Rhett Lowder, RHP, Cincinnati Reds
49. Chase Petty, RHP, Cincinnati Reds
50. Jonah Tong, RHP, New York Mets

The amazing numbers of Aaron Judge’s start

If you thought the Yankees’ superstar couldn’t get any better — think again. Here are the most astounding stats of his season so far.
David Schoenfield »

Tong, Brandon Sproat and Nolan McLean are the top three Mets arms and I’ve shuffled them again from the team top 10s earlier this month, as Tong now narrowly looks like the best of the group for me. McLean has the most upside, if his command can take another step forward. Keaschall, Ballesteros and Ramirez have all hit more than I expected, and Horton’s velo/stuff is fully back and he is getting a big league shot in Chicago.

There are a several notable players who just got squeezed off the list (Jarlin Susana, Hagen Smith, Cooper Pratt and Alex Freeland among them) or are rising fast but couldn’t quite get on this time (including Andrew Salas, Luke Dickerson, Slade Caldwell, Caleb Bonemer, Ryan Sloan, Payton Tolle and Gage Jump). I’d also keep an eye on Blue Jays LHP Johnny King and Cardinals C Rainiel Rodriguez (both on the team lists) as my summer picks to click.

Crisis Protocol Card Update May 2025

by admin May 22, 2025

Atomic Mass Games released some updated content this week for their superhero miniature game, Marvel Crisis Protocol. These updates are to character cards, tactics cards, and their FAQ & Errata document, all of which you can view and download on their Rules page for free here. While there aren’t any Asgard-shattering changes, there are a few nice quality of life balances implemented to help clarify timing and interactions within each game phase. Many of these figures will be appearing in the new Affiliation Packs set to release over the next year, which gives players the opportunity to pick up four or five figures in a themed pack (Avengers, Cabal, X-Men, Midnight Sons, etc.). Some of the pieces are hard to find currently because they’re out-of-print, so these new packs are meant to get new players in and experienced players back in.

You can read their official transmission for a more in-depth view, but here are some of the highlights from their post:

  • Agent Venom
    • Project Rebirth 2.0 now causes the character to make a Shake action.
  • Carnage
    • Healthy side Stamina up to 8 from 7. Paint the Town Red updated.
  • Colossus
    • Strike Concussive Force ability replaced with Push. X-Slam Stagger ability replaced with Throw. Big Brother updated to have a different ability based off Range to the attacker.
  • Doctor Strange
    • Injured side Stamina up to 7 from 6. Bolts of Bedevilment has added Pierce ability on a Block. Judgment of the Vishanti replaced previous Leadership. Oshtur’s Refuge up to Range 3. Hoggoth’s Hoary Wisdom can add dice to dodge rolls. Eye of Agamotto can now reroll dodge rolls.
  • Gambit
    • Kinetic Ace down to 4 Strength from 5 and type changed to Energy. 52 Card Pickup ability changed and Power Cost down to 3. Enhanced Agility changed to Advance in any direction. The Cards Always Be In My Favor superpower added.
  • X-23
    • Frenzy updated timing. Adamantium Skeleton Innate superpower removed.
  • Mutant Traitor (Team Tactics Card)–
    • Amplified Ammunition’s ability that damages Bishop changed to after all attacks are resolved and only happens once.

There are a fair amount of changes to help with fluidity of gameplay, intuitiveness for timing and resolution, and either increase or decrease character’s power levels for game balances so be sure to read AMG’s full article.

Ubisoft CEO to be summoned to court in Ubisoft harassment trial

by admin May 22, 2025

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot and human resources director Marie Derain will be summoned to court to testify in the trial of three former Ubisoft executives accused of sexist and racist behaviors.

As reported by the union Solidaires Informatique via VGC, Guillemot and Derain have been called in the trial of Serge Hascoet, Tommy Francois, and Guillaume Patrux, all of whom have been accused of sexual harassment. After delays pertaining to errors by the prosecution, the trial is set to begin on June 2, 2025.

Former chief creative officer Serge Hascoët and ex-VP of editorial and creative services Tommy François both left the publisher in summer 2020, following allegations of widespread abuse, harassment, and discrimination within Ubisoft, including claims against the two executives. In all, five former executives from Ubisoft were arrested by French police in 2023 following a year-long investigation into sexual assault and harassment within the company.

“Beyond the personal responsibility of these three executives, this trial will highlight Ubisoft’s responsibility in setting up a system aimed at keeping harassers in place while silencing their victims,” the union said (as translated by machine).

“As Mr. Beckers indicated during the March hearing, ‘this case is broader and involves many more people, both on the side of the victims and the defendants.’ It is not a question of a few individual actions, but of a well-oiled mechanism of insularity, work organization, and management that allowed this violence to continue within the company for years. One of the defendants’ lawyers himself said: ‘Ubisoft is the ghost of the case.'”

The statement said Guillemot and Derain had been summoned to highlight the “systemic nature of harassment” at Ubisoft.

Last week, Ubisoft released its financial results for the full 2024-25 fiscal year, reporting a “solid balance sheet” and “very strong praise” for Assassin’s Creed Shadows – which delivered the second-highest Day One sales in franchise history after Valhalla – despite hefty drops in revenue, net bookings, digital net bookings, and back-catalog net bookings across the year.

New Battlefield 6 gameplay leak is not something fans were hoping for

by admin May 21, 2025

The leak’s giving mixed signals.

Published: May 21, 2025 03:55 pm

A new Battlefield 6 leak has surfaced online, and the gameplay we can see from the footage is not what fans have been hoping for.

Judging by the video from the leaked video on X, Battlefield 6 looks to be set in modern times, and not in the past or future, like some of the previous titles, such as Battlefield 2042 and Battlefield 5.

A certain section of the fanbase was left disappointed with the gameplay quality. One confused it with Battlefield 4, while another claimed, “There is no new taste of play.”

One player feels the gameplay looks “twitchy,” while another chimed in, “I hate the way he’s holding that weapon. It was never like this back in the old days. It looks bad, and I don’t think that’s the normal way of holding a rifle.”

Some fans suggested ways to bring back the franchise to its former glory, the time when players flocked to Battlefield 3 and 4. One player said, “All they have to do is make it like BF3 and 4, and we’re golden with classes and not stupid operators.” “Looks like the same boring sh*t,” said another.

A player compared the footage to the last entry in the BF franchise and said, “Shooting still looks stiff like 2042.” With other competitors in the market like Call of Duty, which offer gameplay based on modern warfare, things can get a little monotonous for some.

One such player thinks, “all modern warfare games look like COD, fast movement, no weight, a lot of gadgets, and no feeling of risk. There’s a tank shooting, and it looks like it’s just playing with lights and smoke coming out of the place, what a joke.”

The leaked footage has everything we’ve seen in the BF games over these years – destruction, chaos, tanks, and the usual game modes. Like the previous games, a total of four players can squad up to take down the opposition.

Battlefield 2042 was the last title from EA way back in November 2021. It’s been more than three years since it was released, and Battlefield 6 is scheduled to release sometime before March 31, 2026. We don’t have an official date yet.

Konami reveals Silent Hill f is “independent of the series”

by admin May 21, 2025

It’s Silent Hill, but not that Silent Hill. Konami finally admitted Silent Hill F isn’t a sequel.

Konami has spoken, and the verdict is in: Silent Hill f isn’t a sequel, just a totally standalone spinoff. So if you were clinging to the hope that it’d stitch together the mess left behind by Downpour or Homecoming… yeah, time to let go.

Set in 1960s rural Japan, Silent Hill f takes a sharp detour from the foggy American town fans know and dread. The game introduces us to Hinako Shimizu, a bullied schoolgirl with major trauma, vanishing friends, and a run-in with ominous fog. Oh, and flowers. Lots of them. Blooming in all the wrong ways.

Article continues after ad

There’s still the psychological horror. Still the eerie atmosphere. Still the potential for cults doing horrible cult things. But it’s all wrapped in a brand-new story that doesn’t touch the tangled lore of Pyramid Head and company.

Article continues after ad

Konami says Silent Hill f is “independent of the series”

Konami made it official on X, saying:

“This is a completely new work, independent of the series. Even those who have never played Silent Hill can enjoy this game.”

The Silent Hill franchise kicked off in 1999 with fog, fear, and daddy issues, courtesy of Team Silent. Silent Hill 2 earned high praise from critics and players alike Then came sequels, spinoffs, and a slow, painful decline when Western studios took the wheel.

Article continues after ad

Now Konami’s trying to resurrect the brand, Frankenstein-style, by launching a whole multiverse of titles: remakes, new stories, and global settings. Some smart bets (hello, Silent Hill 2 remake), some weird ones (lookin’ at you, Short Message). And Silent Hill f, might just be their boldest move yet: no baggage, just fresh terror.

No release date has dropped yet. But with Anime Expo hitting Los Angeles in July, we might just get our next creepy clue soon.

Sources – Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander wins NBA MVP

OKLAHOMA CITY — After winning his first scoring title and leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to a league-high 68 wins, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has earned his first NBA MVP award, sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania on Wednesday.

The league will officially announce the honor Wednesday night, a few nights after Gilgeous-Alexander’s Thunder defeated Nikola Jokic’s Denver Nuggets in Game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals.

Gilgeous-Alexander finished as the runner-up in last year’s MVP voting, when Jokic won his third MVP in four seasons.

Editor’s Picks

Jokic had arguably the best season of his career, averaging 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, 10.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game, but Gilgeous-Alexander also had a historical campaign for an Oklahoma City team that broke the NBA record for point differential (plus-12.9 per game) and finished with 18 more victories than the Nuggets.

Gilgeous-Alexander led the league with 32.7 points per game on 51.9% shooting from the floor and also averaged 6.4 assists, 5.0 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.0 blocks. The only other player in NBA history to average at least 30 points on 50% shooting, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1 block per game in a season is Michael Jordan, who did it in 1987-88 and 1990-91 — the seasons that he won the first two of his five MVPs.

Gilgeous-Alexander, 26, joined an exclusive club by leading the league in scoring for a team that won 60 or more games. This is the 10th instance that has been accomplished in NBA history. The only time that player did not win the MVP was in 1996-97, when Utah’s Karl Malone won the honor over Jordan.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the league this season with 32.7 points per game on 51.9% shooting and also averaged 6.4 assists, 5.0 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.0 blocks. Alonzo Adams/Imagn Images

This was the third straight season that Gilgeous-Alexander has averaged at least 30 points while shooting better than 50% from the floor. The only other players who have done that three straight seasons — Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Wilt Chamberlain and Jordan — all won multiple MVPs.

Gilgeous-Alexander was also a major contributor to Oklahoma City’s top-ranked defense. He had 208 “stocks” (steals and blocks) this season, ranking third behind San Antonio’s Victor Wembanyama and Atlanta’s Dyson Daniels.

Gilgeous-Alexander is the third player in franchise history to win an MVP, joining Kevin Durant (2014) and Russell Westbrook (2017).

After being named a first-team All-NBA selection the last two seasons, Gilgeous-Alexander had already qualified to be eligible to sign an unprecedented, four-year, $294 million supermax extension this summer. It would be the deal with the highest annual value ($73.3 million) in league history.

ESPN’s Bobby Marks contributed to this report.

Black Ops 6 and Warzone

by admin May 21, 2025

Steel City Interactive expands technical and creative departments

by admin May 21, 2025

Steel City Interactive has announced a partnership with recruitment agency Amiqus as it looks to scale its technical and creative teams.

The Sheffield-based studio has begun a recruitment drive to support the future of its Undisputed franchise, which fully launched last October and has since surpassed one million copies.

It’s currently looking for experienced developers in engineering, art, and design.

“[Our] recruitment drive represents a studio with long-term ambitions not just for Undisputed as a game, but for Steel City Interactive itself as a leading creative force in gaming,” the developer’s recently appointed VP of studio Tim Coupe tells GamesIndustry.biz.

“Our direction points towards greater technical polish, deeper player engagement, and Undisputed as the flagship franchise in a revitalised category.”

Steel City Interactive was founded in 2020 by brothers Ash, Asif, and Asad Habib.

“Steel City Interactive is undoubtedly on an impressive growth trajectory under their new leadership,” Amiqus business manager Liz Prince added.

“And as the studio continues to expand, Amiqus is delighted to be working alongside the team as their recruitment partner of choice, as we deploy our new Amiqus Alliance service for them.

“It is an exciting time for the growth of the games development sector in the region, and we are looking forward to playing our part.”

Here are the early LoL Patch 25.11 notes

by admin May 21, 2025

League of Legends has reached a rare “steady state” of balance with the last patch that Riot Games have introduced on the live servers, and they’re making small buffs and nerfs in the upcoming update to help champions stay healthy ahead of the MSI 2025.

League also showcases the Ionia-themed Summoner’s Rift this season, a region which is known for its balance and spirit realm. While there aren’t many rogue champions in the current meta, the developers are still keeping a close eye on champions who could use minor adjustments to make them relevant.

League updates usually release on Wednesdays, and it is the same for every upcoming patch. They usually come ahead of time on the PBE servers and then make their way to the live one. The patch 25.11 update is scheduled for May 28, 2025. While the official release times across all regions have yet to be confirmed, the expected release windows for each region are as follows:

  • 3pm CT (NA)
  • 5am GMT (EU West)
  • 3am CET (EU North East)
  • 8am KR (Korea)

While the last patch brought a myriad of changes to the mage items, this one’s fairly quiet on new changes, as it takes up champions like Rengar, Twitch, and other champions and gives them buffs. On the other hand, there are a few champions like Cho’Gath and Smolder, who got a bit too much power from the last patch, so Riot is giving them small nerfs to nullify their impact. Lastly, Kassadin, Samira and some other champions are getting some neutral changes without buffs and nerfs.

Champion buffs

The following champions will all be receiving buffs in League Patch 25.11:

Ashe

  • [Q] Ranger’s Focus: Now stacks when attacking structures.

Diana (Jungle)

She was very reliant on Liandrys, and she’s getting a little buff now to compensate for the changes to it.

  • [P] Moonsilver Blade: Monster mod increased from 2.25 to 2.6.

Rengar

  • [R] Thrill of the Hunt: Cooldown has been reduced from 110/100/90 to 100/90/80.

Ryze

  • [Q] Overload: Damage against Flux targets (based on R rank) has been increased from 10/40/70/100 percent to 35/50/75/100 percent.
  • [W] Rune Prison: Damage deceased from 80-200 to 70-190.

Sivir

  • [W] Ricochet: Total AD ratio has been increased from 30-50 to 40-50 percent.

Twisted Fate

  • [Q] Wild Cards: Damage increased from 60-240 to 70-240.

Twitch

The changes aim to steer AP Twitch toward farming lanes rather than being a support, improving his viability slightly while keeping him balanced overall. He remains a bit weak, but he isn’t out of the meta.

  • [E] Contaminate: AP ratio per stack has been increased from 30 to 35 percent.

Udyr

He was very reliant on Liandrys, and getting a little buff now to compensate for the changes to it.

[R] Wingborne Storm

  • Bonus damage on attack has been increased from 10-30+ 30 percent AP to 10-40+ 35 percent AP.
  • Total damage has been increased from 80-360 to 80-400.

Champion nerfs

The following champions will all be receiving nerfs in League Patch 25.11:

Cho’Gath

Armor growth has been reduced from 5.0 to 4.5.

Elise

  • [P] Spider Queen: On-hit AP ratio has decreased from .2 to .15.

Lucian

  • [E] Relentless Pursuit: Cooldown has been increased from 14-12 to 16-12.

Smolder

  • HP regen has been decreased from 4.5 to 3.75.
  • Armor has been reduced from 26 to 24.

Champion adjustments

The following champions will all be receiving adjustments in League Patch 25.11:

Aatrox

  • [P] Deathbringer Stance: Damage decreased from 4-12 percent max HP to 4-8 percent max HP.
  • [Q] The Darkin Blade: Sweet spot damage mod has been increased from 1.6x to 1.7x.
  • [W] Infernal Chains: Damage type has been changed from Magic to Physical.

Annie

  • Armor has been adjusted from 19+ 4.7 to 23+ 4.0.
  • [W] Incinerate: Damage has been decreased from 70-270 + .85 to .70-250 + .8.

Garen

The developer is making Garen’s non-crit and fighter-focused builds feel more rewarding. Moreover, a lower E cooldown aims to support sustained trades while preserving meaningful windows for opponents to react.

[E] Judgment

  • Cooldown has been adjusted from 9 to 9-6.
  • Damage has been increased from 4-20+ 0-8.2+36-40 percent total AD to 4-20+ 36-44 percent total AD.
  • Crit mod has been reduced from 1.5x to 1.4x.

[W] Courage

  • Cooldown has been reduced from 23-15 to 22-12.
  • Damage Reduction has been changed from 30 percent to 25-41 percent.
  • Quest capstone (10 percent total armor/MR) has been removed.

[R] Demacian Justice: Damage has been reduced from 150/300/450 + 25/30/35 percent missing HP to 150/250/350 + 25/30/35 percent missing HP.

Kassadin

Kassadin is getting a slight early game boost to help him contribute more before the late game by trimming some of his late-game power to balance it out. This change should make him more viable in high-skill games that heavily punish weak early laners.

Armor has been increased from 19-21.

  • [E] Force Pulse: Damage has been increased from 60-180 to 70-190.
  • [R] Riftwalk: AP ratio per stack 10 percent (max 90 percent) has been reduced to seven percent (max 78 percent).

Samira

These changes aim to enhance Samira’s lifesteal scaling to better support her snowball and teamfighting strengths, making builds like early Bloodthirster more appealing and giving her a clearer identity.

  • [Q] Flair: Life steal effectiveness has been increased from 66 to 80 percent.
  • [W] Blade Whirl: Bonus AD ratio has been reduced from .6 to .5.
  • [R] Inferno Trigger: Life steal effectiveness has been increased from 50 to 80 percent.

System Buffs

Horizon Focus

After the last patch balanced mage items, Horizon Focus still feels weak to the developer, so it gets a buff to make it more relevant alongside other items.

  • The price has been decreased from 2900 to 2800.
  • Ability power has been increased from 110 to 115.
