How to get Black Ops 7 Twitch drops and early access code

by admin September 28, 2025

If you want to try Black Ops 7 out for free, the upcoming Open Beta starting Oct. 5 is your biggest window. But if you want to jump in even earlier, you can earn a Black Ops 7 early access beta code via Twitch—all you need is some patience.

Here’s how to get the Black Ops 7 early access code as a Twitch drop.

How to get Black Ops 7 early access open beta code

For starters, you need to link your Twitch profile to your Activision account. Once that’s done, mark your calendar for the upcoming Call of Duty Next event on Sept. 30.

To play Black Ops 7 open beta in early access with a free code, follow these steps:

  1. On the day of the event, log in to your Twitch account. Make sure it’s the one connected to your Activision account, which you’ll use to play Black Ops 7.
  2. Tune in to a Call of Duty Next stream on Sept. 30 beginning at 11am CT. You can either join the official stream on Call of Duty’s official Twitch page, or an eligible watch party if any. Check for the “Drops enabled” banner or notification to ensure it’s an eligible stream.
  3. Watch the stream for an hour to get the early access beta code. Once you hit the requirement, you should receive a notification declaring you’ve earned a reward. Open it to get the code.

If you don’t receive the code after an hour of watching, don’t panic. Twitch sometimes takes time to process rewards during such events, with thousands of eligible players fulfilling drop requirements at the same time. We recommend watching the stream until you receive the notification with the Black Ops 7 early access beta code. It may take up to two hours (rarely more) for Twitch to detect your progress, so don’t give up.

As you watch the stream, you can keep track of your progress toward the early access beta code reward. On Twitch, click on the profile icon: Here, you can check the percentage of progression toward a reward when you’re watching an eligible stream. For more details, you can click on the Drops & Rewards option.

Besides hunting for a code, you can also pre-order Black Ops 7 to get early access to Open Beta. And if you don’t want any of these hassles, just wait for the Open Beta, which starts on Oct. 5 and is free to play for everyone.

How to connect your Activision account to Twitch

This is a mandatory step to get the Black Ops 7 early access beta code for free. To connect your Activision account to Twitch, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Activision account.
  2. In the profile page and beside Account Linking, scroll down and click on the “Link account” button beside Twitch. It’ll take you to Twitch.
  3. Log in using your Twitch credentials and authorize the linking.

After this, your accounts will be linked successfully, and you can then watch the event on the said day to earn an early access open beta code for Black Ops 7.

Million-year-old skull discovery prompts new human evolution theories

by admin September 28, 2025

A digitally reconstructed skull discovered in China has scientists questioning long-held beliefs about the timeline of human evolution.

Originally excavated in 1990 from Hubei Province, the fossil, known as Yunxian 2, has now been virtually restored and dated decades later, to between 940,000 and 1.1 million years old. The results, published in the journal Science, suggest it could represent an entirely different branch of the human family tree, separate from Homo erectus.

Million-year-old skull could be Homo longi

The reconstruction, carried out in 2025, revealed facial features that didn’t identically match other known species from that era. While the skull was long assumed to belong to Homo erectus, researchers now believe, following the virtual reconstruction, that it shares more in common with Homo longi, also known as Denisovans.

Article continues after ad

Homo longi, nicknamed the “Dragon Man,” was first proposed as a distinct human species in 2021 after a well-preserved skull was found in north-eastern China. Estimated to be at least 146,000 years old, the fossil showed a mix of archaic and modern traits.

Article continues after ad

The discovery could push the timeline of evolutionary milestones back thousands of years earlier than previously believed. As the skull was found without any DNA, however, its precise classification remains a matter of debate.

Oregon’s Lanning touts Moore as best QB after beating Penn State

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — For the first time all night, Dante Moore was overwhelmed. The Oregon quarterback paused his victory lap and bent over, staring down at the Beaver Stadium grass while trying his best to collect himself and hold back the tears.

In the moments immediately after his Oregon squad pulled off a 30-24 double-overtime triumph over No. 3 Penn State, Moore was emotionally spent. Ducks coach Dan Lanning, however, was practically vibrating after the stunning finish, brimming with pride that his No. 6 Ducks had what it took to win what he considers the best game he has ever been a part of in his career.

What it took was unbelievable poise from every player in his program, especially from Moore, his sophomore quarterback making just his fifth career road start.

The Ducks had the luxury of elite experience at the quarterback position over Lanning’s first three seasons in Eugene between Bo Nix and Dillon Gabriel. On Saturday night, they showed everyone what they have in Moore.

“I think we’ve got the best quarterback in college football,” Lanning said.

Moore threw for 248 yards and three touchdowns, rushed for 35 yards, avoided turnovers and sacks and stayed in control in front of an announced crowd of 111,015, the second largest in Penn State history. Lanning and his coaches put all their trust in Moore in a game loaded with high-pressure moments, including 18 third downs and seven fourth downs in which the Ducks went for it, converting five of them.

“It’s things you pray and dream about as a kid,” Moore said.

Lanning told his players all week that the mindset necessary to defeat the Nittany Lions was death by a thousand cuts. No one play was going to knock out their foe. Every play and every cut mattered. That’s precisely how their battle played out.

Early in the fourth quarter, the Ducks went for the kill on a fourth-and-1, and running back Jordon Davison sliced through the Nittany Lion defense for an 8-yard touchdown that, with a 17-3 lead, looked likely to put away the game for good. But it would take many more cuts to eventually take down Penn State.

The Nittany Lions’ offense came to life with 142 yards and two touchdown drives in the fourth quarter to force overtime. Then Penn State needed just three plays to punch in the first touchdown in overtime.

Oregon’s Dante Moore was 29-of-39 for 248 yards and three touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday’s 30-24 double-overtime win over Penn State. AP Photo/Barry Reeger

Moore answered with a seven-play march that required him to pick up a fourth-and-1 with the game on the line by himself with a counter run. He picked up 3 yards to convert, then hit tight end Jamari Johnson on a shovel pass on the following play to tie the score.

On the first play of the next drive, Moore evaded unblocked Penn State pass rusher Dani Dennis-Sutton and fired a sidearm throw to Gary Bryant Jr. for a quick 25-yard score. The Ducks’ 2-point attempt failed, but all it took was one more cut. Oregon safety Dillon Thieneman intercepted Penn State’s Drew Allar on his first pass of the second overtime.

“Every cut matters and eventually you hit the jugular,” Lanning said. “That was it right there.”

For Moore, it was a breakthrough moment that has been hard-earned. The former No. 2 overall recruit was benched during his freshman season at UCLA in 2023, transferred to Oregon and spent last year out of the spotlight, redshirting and learning to operate the Ducks’ offense as the team’s No. 2 QB behind Gabriel.

After outscoring opponents 203-37 through an easy 4-0 start, it was time for a real test. Teammates didn’t doubt that Moore was ready.

“The dude breeds excellence,” Oregon linebacker Bryce Boettcher said. “He’s just very composed. I mean, he’s 20 years old and the maturity out of him is incredible. Following up after Dillon Gabriel and Bo Nix, that’s no easy shoes to fill. He’s obviously his own person, leads in his own way and I love it. He’s a competitor and I’m glad to have him on our side.”

Lanning called the victory a growth moment not just for his quarterback but his entire Ducks squad. He believed it managed an “unbelievable” road environment with composure, making the White Out crowd a nonfactor to the best of its ability.

Against an opponent that Lanning said he expects to face again, whether in the Big Ten title game or the College Football Playoff, Moore and his fellow Ducks didn’t flinch.

“It speaks volumes about how these guys can handle the stage,” Lanning said. “We said the White Out was really gonna be a white canvas for us today. We got an opportunity to paint our masterpiece, and those guys did it.”

Amid major surprises, VALORANT fans name one matchup as VCT Champions Paris’ best so far

VALORANT Champions Paris has been a rollercoaster experience so far, with most matchups either defying expectations or ending in a close result. Despite all the unpredictability, fans think one series can be crowned as the tournament’s “best so far”—and we can’t agree more.

Some time after day one of playoffs ended, a Redditor posted a snapshot—first uploaded by G2 VALORANT’s handle on X—highlighting the nail-biting results in the three VALORANT maps played during the Paper Rex (PRX) vs. G2 Esports series. They proceeded to call it the best face-off in VCT Champions Paris so far, attracting several upvotes from the community.

From thrilling clutches and strategy wars to one-sided rounds and mind-blowing display of mechanical brilliance, the opening series of playoffs had everything a fan could ask for.

The first game of the series, played on Lotus, ended in a 13-11 after PRX managed to stop G2’s momentum in the second half, winning three back-to-back rounds to take the win. The second game on Corrode saw a lot of back-and-forth before ending up in overtime. In the end, however, G2’s resilience put a stop to PRX’s headstrong style at 15-13, preventing the latter from taking a 2-0 win. The third and final game was on Ascent, which ended up in a 13-11 in PRX’s favor, giving them the ultimate series win.

The matchup lived up to the hype, delivering close encounters, strategy diffs, and showcases of impressive headshots and outplays—everything you’d expect from a clash between the #1 seeds of Americas and APAC.

The clash fans needed. Photo by Adela Sznajder/Riot Games

While PRX vs. G2 has been hailed as the highlight matchup of VALORANT Champions Paris so far, fans also highlighted the grand finals of Masters Bangkok between T1 and G2 Esports as the season’s biggest thriller. That series ended in a 3-2 scoreline in T1’s favor after a number of seesaw games, two of which reached overtime.

Going forward in Champions Paris, there are plenty of exciting face-offs to anticipate, but I’m most excited about Paper Rex taking on Fnatic in the upper semis. No matter the outcome, the headline of this series will be how Fnatic’s former star coach, mini, is now fueling PRX’s success. Talk about betrayal stinging, am I right?

And I can’t help but think about a potential grand finals rematch between PRX and G2 in VALORANT Champions Paris—provided G2 manages to stay alive in the high stakes lower bracket. If an opening upper round clash between them can be this good, just think what can unfold on the most prestigious stage of the year.

Russian freediver plunges 413 feet on a single breath to break world record

by admin September 28, 2025

Russian freediver Alexey Molchanov has set a new world record after diving 413 feet on a single breath at the AIDA Freediving World Championships in Cyprus.

Molchanov, 37, is widely considered the greatest freediver in history. He has broken more than 30 world records and is the son of legendary diver Natalia Molchanova, who set 42 records of her own before her death in 2015.

This latest dive was particularly grueling. Molchanov held his breath for 4 minutes and 32 seconds as he descended into near-total darkness, battling extreme cold, crushing water pressure, and the ever-present risk of blackout during ascent. He broke his own record of 410 feet, set just last year.

Article continues after ad

Breaking records in the deep

Molchanov competed in the constant weight bi-fins category at the 2025 AIDA Freediving World Championships, which requires divers to descend and ascend using only fins without pulling on the rope. His headlamp and safety line were the only guides in the Mediterranean waters off Limassol, Cyprus.

Article continues after ad

He later described the toughest parts of the dive on Instagram, noting the “thermocline drop” when water temperature plunged from 77°F to 54°F within seconds, as well as the delicate pressure management needed to avoid lung injury at depth. Molchanov also highlighted the riskiest stretch: the final 100 feet of ascent, where most blackouts occur due to expanding air in the lungs and dwindling oxygen.

Article continues after ad

To officially secure the record, Molchanov had just 15 seconds after resurfacing to complete a strict protocol: remove his gear, give a hand signal, and say “I’m OK.” With the record validated, his 413-foot descent now stands as the deepest constant weight bi-fins dive ever achieved.

For perspective, the dive is longer than a football field and a half, roughly equal to the height of a 41-story building, all completed on a single breath of air.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — After the latest loss to a Top 10 opponent, Nittany Lions coach James Franklin said he understands the growing frustration of the Penn State fan base.

The third-ranked Nittany Lions fell 30-24 in double overtime to No. 6 Oregon on Saturday night before a “White Out” crowd at Beaver Stadium.

The defeat dropped Franklin to 4-21 at Penn State against Associated Press top 10 opponents, including 1-18 against top 10 Big Ten top teams.

“I get that narrative and it’s really not a narrative — it’s factual. It’s the facts,” Franklin said. “I try to look at the entire picture and what we’ve been able to do here. But at the end of the day, we got to find a way to win those games. I totally get it. And I take ownership. I take responsibility.”

Franklin’s .160 winning percentage against AP top 10 teams now ties him for the third-worst record by a head coach (minimum of 25 games) at a single school since the poll era began in 1936, according to ESPN Research.

“We have a passionate fan base,” Franklin said. “When we win, there’s nothing better. When we lose, there’s nothing worse. So I get it. I get the frustration that comes with a fan base that is invested and cares.”

The Nittany Lions nearly pulled off their biggest fourth-quarter comeback since 2016 against Ohio State — which remains Franklin’s only Big Ten win against a top 10 opponent.

Penn State trailed 17-3. But senior quarterback Drew Allar engineered back-to-back touchdown drives to send the game to overtime. The Nittany Lions then scored a touchdown on the third play of the opening overtime possession.

But the Ducks answered with their own touchdown, then scored another on the first play of the second overtime.

On the ensuing snap, Allar threw an interception to Dillon Thieneman, sealing the dramatic victory for the Ducks.

“I tried to get the ball over the guy’s head,” Allar said. “He jumped up and caught the ball.”

During Big Ten media days over the summer, Allar said it was time for Penn State “to get over that hump” in big games. Allar’s fourth-quarter interception in the College Football Playoff semifinals last season set up Notre Dame’s game-winning field goal and ended Penn State’s season.

Allar, Penn State’s starter since 2023, is now 0-6 in his career against AP top 6 opponents — his only victory against a top 10 team coming in last year’s CFP quarterfinals against Boise State.

“Obviously, it hurts,” Allar said. “We had our opportunities. … But it’s a long season ahead of us. We’re going to have more opportunities to fix this — and I’ll be the first one to go into the fire.”

Pokemon fans roast GameStop after it calls out Walmart over TCG scalpers

by admin September 28, 2025

GameStop’s attempt to criticize Walmart over Pokemon card scalpers has backfired, as fans quickly turned the spotlight on the retailer’s own trading card practices.

The official GameStop X account quote-retweeted a post showing someone hauling off a large number of Pokemon Mega Evolutions booster packs and tins. “Nothing says family fun like watching a scalper walk out with a cart full of booster packs while kids stare at bare shelves,” the company wrote. “This is why we have purchase limits. Walmart should do the same.”

While the jab at Walmart gained traction, the replies under GameStop’s post were filled with criticism. Fans accused the company of overcharging for cards, letting exclusive promos slip to resellers, and enforcing restrictive limits that still leave families empty-handed.

Fans call out GameStop “hypocrisy”

One user wrote: “Brother you have time to delete this, you’re the ‘for gamers’ store and you’re the first one overcharging for TCG. At least Walmart sells at MSRP, embarrassing.” Others referenced recent issues with Scarlet & Violet promo codes and accused employees of “backdooring” products meant for customers.

The backlash turned into a pile-on, with comments resurfacing frustrations about GameStop’s trade-in values and inconsistent supply of Pokemon products. As one viral reply put it: “lol GameStop tried to roast someone & the comments roasted them.”

The Mega Evolutions set released on September 26, 2025, introducing over 180 new cards and debuting the ultra-rare Mega Hyper Rare rarity. At the top of collectors’ chase lists are the Mega Hyper Rare versions of Mega Lucario ex and Mega Gardevoir ex, which are significantly scarcer than the Hyper Rares of past expansions. With their gilded finish, unique artwork, and extreme rarity, these cards are expected to command some of the highest prices in the set.
