Earth Must Die is a comedian-packed point-and-click in which you decide how much of a dick you want to be

by admin September 29, 2025

Earth Must Die was one of the stand-out premieres in yesterday’s PC Gaming Show. The cartoon-styled space romp shone with crisp and vibrant visuals, and boasted a cast list that read like a who’s-who of British comedy.

Starring in it are Joel Fry (Game of Thrones, Dr Who, Our Flag Means Death), Ben Starr (Expedition 33, Final Fantasy 16), Martha Howe-Douglas (co-creator of Ghosts), Alex Horne (Taskmaster), Mike Wozniak (Man Down, Taskmaster, Three Bean Salad podcast), Don Warrington (Rising Damp!), Matthew Holness (Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace), Tamsin Greig (Black Books, Green Wing!), and Stevie Martin, Julie Nolke, Sophie Duker, Emma Fryer, Alasdair Beckett-King, Rosie Holt, Jon Blyth, Sam O’Leary, Tom Lawrinson, Sally Beaumont, David Montieth and Inel Tomlinson.

Yes, that’s Jon Blyth who once contributed to Eurogamer, which I’m sure is the accolade he shares and not his recent BAFTA-nominated performance in Thank Goodness You’re Here!

Earth Must Die looks great.Watch on YouTube

An eye-catching trailer and an eye-catching cast list, but details about the actual game were relatively scarce. What actually is Earth Must Die, then, and when is it coming out? Having talked to the game’s creator Dan Marshall today, I know some of the answers.

Earth Must Die, like many of Size Five’s games (that’s Marshall’s studio name), is a point-and-click adventure. And like many of Size Five’s games, it comes with a twist. “The idea is it’s a point-and-click adventure game but the lead character refuses to touch anything,” Marshall tells me. “He’s above it; because he’s from land-owning gentry, he won’t press buttons. So the game is a… conversation-’em-up. That’s not a real word is it?

“But it’s not like Monkey Island where you can constantly replay conversations until you get the right stuff. Conversations play through, and you choose how much of a dick you’re going to be [I’ll come back to this point], and puzzle solving is more about manipulating other people into doing what you want to achieve rather than you actually doing it. So it’s more about ordering other people around to do things, rather than picking stuff up and having your own inventory.”

Indeed, Earth Must Die doesn’t have an inventory, so you can’t touch anything or pick anything up, or keep anything with you. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of an adventure/point-and-click game having done that before.

To come back to the “choose how much of a dick you’re going to be” point earlier: Earth Must Die is also a game about a baddie. A proper baddie. Not a baddie who secretly wants to be good.

Says Marshall: “What they do in games quite often, or in Despicable Me or Star Wars or whatever, is they go ‘this time you’re going to play as one of the people in the Empire’, and they chicken out about a third of the way through and you defect to the Rebel side. And actually [the character is] a goodie because playing a baddie all the way through is slightly irksome.

“We’ve worked out ways of balancing [Valak’s] story so that he’s just a dick – he’s a fascist dictator bellend. I won’t mince my words! But he’s not the hero of the story. But you do get to play him and choose his dialogue options and all the rest of it, while the world crumbles around him.”

Valak is the lead, then, a Ming the Merciless-like character in charge of a vast alien empire who one day discovers Earth and an empire better organised than his. “So it’s basically: you’re this Ming the Merciless character with your 1950s wobbly sets, and then the Empire from Star Wars turns up and invades and takes over and rolls you into their much better empire. So that leaves you in the slightly awkward position of becoming the de facto Rebel leader for your [rebellion],” Marshall says.

I think it sounds great, and if Size Five’s last game Lair of the Clockwork God is anything to go by, there’s every chance it will be (I wish I’d been bold enough to give that game five stars; don’t tell Chris Tapsell I said that). But when is Earth Must Die coming out?

One of the upsides of holding back a reveal until the vocal parts have been recorded is the game’s nearly done. As in, there’s an outside chance Earth Must Die could even release this year, publisher No More Robots told me today. It’s a very tentative aim, so bear that in mind, but it could happen. And if it doesn’t, a 2026 release presumably won’t be far behind.

Incidentally, I was delighted to host Dan Marshall and writing and design partner Ben Ward (the Ben of ‘Ben and Dan’) on the interview podcast I ran a few years ago, and I don’t think any guests made me laugh harder.

How to Use ChatGPT to Discover Hidden Crypto Gems

by admin September 29, 2025

Key takeaways:

  • ChatGPT can synthesize social media and news sentiment to reveal early narratives and market buzz around emerging tokens.

  • Feeding technical indicators and onchain transaction data to ChatGPT allows traders to track “smart money” movements and identify accumulation or distribution patterns.

  • Exploring multiple GPTs in workflows lets traders cross-reference metrics, sentiment and contract safety for more informed decisions.

  • Building a data-driven scanner with embeddings, clustering, anomaly detection and tokenomics metrics can automate the discovery of high-potential tokens.

Finding high-potential coins before they take off often gets mistaken for pure luck, but savvy investors understand that it takes diligence, not luck, to find them. With ChatGPT and other AI-powered tools at your side, you can sort through thousands of tokens and identify real value.

This guide walks you through the process of using ChatGPT as a research tool for cryptocurrency analysis.

Explore market sentiment and narrative with ChatGPT

A coin can have great fundamentals, but if no one is talking about it, its potential remains unrealized.

A hidden gem is often one that is just beginning to generate a positive buzz. You can get ChatGPT to synthesize a picture of public opinion by feeding it information from various sources.

For instance, you could copy and paste recent headlines from major crypto news outlets or snippets from popular social media platforms like X or Reddit.

Try using a prompt like:

“Analyze the following news headlines and social media comments about [coin name]. Synthesize the overall market sentiment, identify any emerging narratives and flag any potential red flags or major concerns being discussed by the community.”

The AI can use the data you provided to generate a summary that indicates if the sentiment is neutral, bullish or negative, as well as which particular talking points are getting traction. This method can help you determine the market’s overall emotional state.

Additionally, ChatGPT can be asked to look for indications of growth in the ecosystem of a project. You can send snapshots from platforms like DefiLlama, but you can’t provide them with real-time data.

For example, you could use a prompt like this:

“Based on the following data points on total value locked for protocols within the [coin name] ecosystem, identify which sectors are gaining the most momentum and which protocols are seeing the fastest growth in the last 30 days.”

Framed this way, ChatGPT can highlight outliers — protocols pulling in liquidity and users faster than the rest. These standouts tend to be more than just technically sound; they are the ones capturing market attention and building the kind of traction that often drives sharp price moves.

Did you know? According to MEXC Research of 2025, 67% of Gen Z crypto traders have activated at least one AI-powered trading bot or strategy in the past 90 days, showing a major generational shift toward automated, AI-assisted trading.

Data-driven approach to use ChatGPT

For advanced traders, digging into technical and onchain metrics can surface standout opportunities. This is where you shift from researcher to analyst and actively start gathering the right data to feed it to the AI for deeper insights.

For more technical indicator interpretation, you can feed ChatGPT raw technical data from charting platforms. For example, you can give it the values of the Relative Strength Index (RSI), moving average convergence-divergence (MACD) and different moving averages for a specific coin over a given period.

A useful prompt example could be:

“Analyze the following technical indicator data for [Coin Name] over the last 90 days. Based on the provided RSI, MACD and 50-/200-day moving average crossovers, what can you infer about the current market trend and potential upcoming price movements? Highlight any bullish or bearish signals.”

By doing onchain data analysis, you can reveal the truth behind a project’s activity. You can copy and paste raw data from a block explorer or analytics tool.

For example:

“Here is a list of recent transactions and wallet activity for [Coin Name]. Analyze this data to identify ‘smart money’ movements, which are large-volume transactions from wallets that have historically performed well. Based on this, can you detect any accumulation or distribution patterns?”

This method can help you track the movements of big players and ideally spot early signs of a potential price move before it becomes visible to the rest of the market.

ChatGPT advanced GPTs

In crypto, ChatGPT’s real power comes when you explore GPTs, custom versions of ChatGPT, that are tailored for specific use cases. Many GPTs are built to extend ChatGPT’s capabilities, such as analyzing smart contracts, summarizing blockchain research, or pulling structured market data. For example, you might use a GPT designed for token safety analysis, another for onchain wallet tracking or one optimized for parsing crypto research reports.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to access GPTs for crypto trading:

Step 1: Get a ChatGPT subscription

To start using GPTs, you’ll need a ChatGPT Plus account ($20/month).

Step 2: Explore GPTs

In the left-hand menu, click “Explore GPTs.” Use the search bar to look for crypto-related GPTs. Select and launch the GPT you want to use.

Multiple GPTs can be run at the same time in your workflow — e.g., combining a GPT that summarizes tokenomics with another that checks contract safety. Still, it’s important to remember: These tools should speed up your own research, not replace it entirely.

How to build a data-driven scanner with ChatGPT

You can move beyond one-off prompts by making ChatGPT part of an automated discovery pipeline.

Start by creating embeddings from project white papers, social media posts and GitHub commits. Combine those vectors to surface outliers worth human review. Add a tokenomics risk score that weighs circulating supply, unlock schedules and vesting cliffs, along with a liquidity depth metric built from order book snapshots and decentralized exchange (DEX) pool spreads.

You can also layer in anomaly detection on large transfers and contract interactions to flag unusual activity in real time.

To run this system, collect data through APIs from GitHub, CoinGecko and Etherscan. Process it with Python (or another language) to generate numerical metrics and embeddings. Apply clustering and anomaly detection to highlight unusual projects, then push the results into a dashboard or alert system so you can act quickly.

Finally, backtest your signals by replaying past onchain events and transaction flows. This turns scattered data points into a structured process that produces repeatable, high-signal trade ideas.

This article does not contain investment advice or recommendations. Every investment and trading move involves risk, and readers should conduct their own research when making a decision.

Capital B Adds 12 More BTC, Total Holding Reach 2,812 Bitcoins

by admin September 29, 2025

Capital B, a publicly listed firm on Euronext Growth Paris, confirmed the acquisition of 12 BTC for $1.4 million (€1.2 million) on Friday, raising its total Bitcoin holdings to 2,812 BTC. The move follows its recent capital raise completed on September 23, which had already signaled plans to expand the company’s treasury with proceeds from share issuance of said value.

The company’s BTC yield has reached 1,656.1% year-to-date, underscoring the aggressive accumulation strategy that has characterized its 2025 roadmap. On September 22, Capital B acquired 551 BTC for €54.7 million, just before completing a separate €58.1 million private placement aimed at further institutional onboarding.

Treasury-first playbook continues

This latest confirmation aligns with projections made last week, when Capital B disclosed that the $1.4 million (€1.2 million) capital injection could finance the purchase of around 10 BTC. With BTC operating at $113K, the firm moved to expand exposure, again.

According to BitcoinTreasuries, Capital B now ranks as the 28th largest public holder of Bitcoin in the globe. The company has developed its brand around treasury accumulation, with a range of verticals in data intelligence, AI, and decentralized tech consulting providing support to its primary BTC thesis.

Capital B’s stock (ALCPB) last traded at €1.030 ($1.30), up 7.44% on the day of its last announcement. As more firms experiment with balance-sheet Bitcoin strategies, Capital B continues to position itself as a European counterpart to U.S.-based players like MicroStrategy.

Everything You Need to Know About USB Ports and Speeds (2025)

by admin September 29, 2025

Things get extremely complicated when it comes to the many iterations of USB 3.0. Because all the branding has become inconsistent and unhelpful, we recommend ignoring these labels altogether and just searching for the actual speed ratings. The good news is that many USB hub and docking station manufacturers have started to give up on names, labels, and symbols too. These days, you’ll often see the maximum speed next to ports directly to sidestep the names, which is the quickest way to ensure you know what you’re getting.

When it comes to evaluating a USB-A port, just remember that 20 Gbps is the top speed you’ll ever get. Whether it’s called USB 3.2 Gen 2 or USB 3.2 Gen 2×2, it’s all the same speed: 20 Gbps. Meanwhile, 10-Gbps speeds will be labeled USB 3.1 Gen 2 or SuperSpeed Plus, and 5-Gbps speeds will be USB 3.0, USB 3.1 Gen 1, or SuperSpeed.

So, if you’re using older storage devices or accessories, you may want to look up the specific generation of USB if speed matters to you. A device marketed as “USB 3.0” several years ago and a device marketed as “USB 3.2” today could potentially have identical transfer speeds if the manufacturer is less than forthcoming with generation names or transfer speed ratings. You may even run into the 25-year-old USB 2.0 standard on older accessories, which had a maximum data transfer speed of 480 Mbps (megabits per second).

What Is USB Power Delivery (or USB-PD)?

Power Delivery, often written as USB-PD, is a fast-charging technology used to power or charge peripherals over USB, which is something we all use every day to charge our phones and other devices. But these days, USB-PD has greatly expanded its capabilities. Instead of carrying a charger for every single device you own, you might opt for a charging adapter that can juice up multiple devices via several USB-C Power Delivery (USB-C PD) ports. With USB-PD 3.1, as seen in Thunderbolt 5, it can even support up to 240 watts of power. You’ll find these kinds of ports on USB hubs as well, sometimes referred to as “pass-through charging,” though that’s not an official term.

Make sure the wattage of a USB-C port on a charging adapter or hub can handle what your device needs. A MacBook Pro typically needs 96 watts during intense workloads (though you can still charge it at lower wattage), so you’d probably need a 100-watt USB-C port on the charging adapter or USB hub for the best charging experience, which is supported in USB4.

How USB DisplayPort Alternate Mode Works

Similar to power delivery, USB-C has also brought in another important feature: DisplayPort Alternate Mode, often labeled as DP Alt Mode or with a “D” DisplayPort logo. Most commonly, this is used to connect a laptop to a monitor over a single USB-C cable rather than HDMI or DisplayPort. Importantly, DP Alt Mode delivers both audio and video over that single connection.

DP Alt Mode has been around since the introduction of USB-C, but the amount of data that can be sent over this one cable depends on the generation of DisplayPort being employed. USB 3.2, for example, uses DisplayPort 1.4 for its DP Alt Mode, whereas USB4 makes DP Alt Mode a requirement and uses DisplayPort 2.0 for higher resolutions and refresh rates. For example, DisplayPort 2.0 supports three 4K HDR displays at 144 Hz, while DisplayPort 1.4a could only support two 4K HDR displays at 60 Hz.

Thunderbolt vs. USB

Not only are USB standards notoriously confusing, but guaranteeing those speeds and features in actual products is even messier. USB standards are always in ranges; just because you see a USB4 port on something doesn’t guarantee it’ll hit those max speeds. Not by a long shot.

That’s where Thunderbolt comes in. It’s an Intel-owned standard made in collaboration with Apple that uses the same USB-C connector as typical USB devices. It usually appears in higher-end devices featuring Intel chips or MacBooks. Due to some recent licensing changes, even some premium AMD laptops now feature Thunderbolt 4 ports.

Fantasy basketball: Buzelis, Eason and other top sleepers to target

Sleepers still exist.

Payton Pritchard made the fifth-most 3-pointers in the NBA last season. Deni Avdija became an offensive force down the stretch last spring. Josh Giddey turned into a triple-double machine after the All-Star break.

Fantasy managers, rankings and the overall draft market are undoubtedly sharper these days, but the convergence of talent and opportunity will continue to deliver fun new names every season.

With value in mind, be sure to check out our staff’s roundtable on sleepers, breakouts, and busts, where I nominate Kevin Porter Jr. as a notable backcourt sleeper given what could be a rewarding workload for the new-look Milwaukee Bucks.

With a lens on finding players who have potential to outproduce expectations, the focus of this list is on players found outside the top 100 picks on average in ESPN live draft results.

Zach Edey, C, Memphis Grizzlies: Patience is required with Edey. The massive Memphis center is set to miss time with a significant ankle injury. Once back, he could command an awesome workload as a focal point in Tuomas Iisalo’s offense. Edey’s pace and usage working with Ja Morant were encouraging last season, suggesting there’s room for the young big to become a two-way fantasy force as early as this winter. Teammate Scotty Pippen Jr. is a deep sleeper to consider thanks to also being one of Iisalo’s favorites from last spring’s short run together.

Andrew Nembhard, PG/SG, Indiana Pacers: Available deep into the middle rounds, Nembhard has already shown an ability to handle high-leverage playmaking duties. Don’t let the lack of scoring pop throw you off the trail, as Nembhard could prove above-average in 3-pointers, assists, steals, and rebounds as a combo guard. Center Jay Huff is a stretch big with rim protection potential worth stashing in case he earns a real slice of the vacated Myles Turner minutes.

Tari Eason, SF/PF, Houston Rockets: Eason fills in gaps all over the floor. With the team likely to feature larger lineups in the wake of a major backcourt injury, Eason should play a major role in the Houston rotation. Known to maximize his minutes, Eason’s elevated role this year could see him join the rare tier of defenders who average three combined steals and blocks.

Reed Sheppard, SG, Houston Rockets: Prolific defensive rates surfaced in college. Such production usually translates well to the pros, but Shepard’s lack of traditional size and length adds some risk. The injury to Fred VanVleet could mean speeding up Shepard’s timeline. The Rockets enter the season with a void for playmaking and tough shotmaking. Opportunity knocks for a gifted prospect.

Jaden Ivey, SG/PG, Detroit Pistons: Stellar catch-and-shoot efficiency emerged last season, albeit in a smaller sample. Ivey has shown signs of being able to thrive as a satellite in addition to an on-ball playmaker, adding dimension to his profile ahead of a pivotal season. With the Pistons losing a good bit of complementary scoring from last year’s roster, Ivey’s offensive upside appears underrated.

Toumani Camara, PF/SF, Portland Trail Blazers: Somewhat similar to Eason, Camara is one of the more effective and versatile wing defenders in the league. This unique skill leads to lots of playing time. Don’t overlook the “glue” guys when building depth, especially in roto and category leagues where “stocks” have higher impact.

Cam Whitmore, SF, Washington Wizards: A bucket’s bucket, Whitmore will seek to challenge Brooklyn’s Cam Thomas in the irrational confidence category. This Villanova product could play big minutes and shoot at will from all over the perimeter for a team with one of the more fluid forward rotations heading into the new campaign.

Matas Buzelis, SF/PF, Chicago Bulls: After a strong finish to his rookie campaign, there is a sense of momentum with Buzelis as a fantasy force. With the team likely to empower the second-year forward, Buzelis could shine as the rare 3-and-D wing with strong block production.

Token sees $93m inflows as ETF decision nears

by admin September 29, 2025

XRP witnessed significant inflows of over $93 million as digital asset investment products tied to the cryptocurrency bucked the trend that hit top coins last week.

Summary

  • XRP recorded inflows of $93 million as digital asset investment products tied to the altcoin attracted investors.
  • The anticipation around upcoming ETF approvals has helped the surge in inflows.
  • XRP saw significant volumes when the REX-Osprey XRP ETF launched.

As crypto exchange-traded products recorded a total of $812 million in outflows this past week, XRP digital asset investment products attracted inflows.

Crypto asset manager CoinShares reported on Sept. 29 that the global digital-asset ETP market recorded outflows as investor sentiment around Federal Reserve interest-rate cuts took a slight bump amid stronger-than-anticipated U.S. macroeconomic data.

However, as Bitcoin (BTC) saw $719 million in outflows over the week, with price also dipping to under $109,000, XRP (XRP) recorded the second most inflows with its $93 million behind Solana (SOL) with $291 million.

Both Solana and XRP, the cryptocurrency by Ripple, stood out in terms of inflows amid increased anticipation around exchange-traded funds, CoinShares noted. Investor expectations for a regulatory nod for an XRP ETF have increased in recent weeks, with the market witnessing a significant milestone with the launch of the REX-Osprey XRPR ETF.

As the ETF, filed under the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Act of 1940, notched record volumes on the debut day, analysts pointed to approaching deadlines for a SEC decision for top crypto spot ETFs for XRP, Solana, Litecoin and Dogecoin.

Is XRP ETFs set for approval? Check SEC’s generic listing rules

This anticipation rose as the SEC approved proposed rule changes for generic listing standards for ETPs offering spot exposure to commodities, digital assets included.

Approval means exchanges can now list spot ETFs that meet set generic listing rules “without first submitting a proposed rule change to the Commission.”

On Sept. 29, the SEC reportedly asked ETF issuers to withdraw their 19b-4 filings for various ETFs, signaling simplified rules were in action. With XRP among the tokens with futures on exchanges for the past six months, anticipation is that the SEC can greenlight XRP spot ETFs at any time.

MrBeast Promises Latest Grotesque YouTube Stunt Was Completely Safe

by admin September 29, 2025

The latest YouTube video stunt by one James “MrBeast” Donaldson has already wracked up over 46 million views in just one day and it’s not hard to imagine why. Titled “Would You Risk Dying For $500,000?” it shows a series of challenges in which people brave flame-engulfed obstacles in exchange for money. It’s kind of like David Blaine if, instead of doing absurd and wild stuff himself, he paid other people to do it while also explaining how it was all incredibly fake and just for grim lulz.

The infernal trap that’s been drawing the most attention is one in which a stuntman is tied to a chair inside a “burning house” and has to escape and save as much money as he can from inside the house in order to earn the highest cash prize possible. Donaldson bounces back and forth between urgent warnings about how real the flames are and mugging the camera with jokes about MrBeast product placement. The entertainment concept is more grotesquely mundane than anything Phillip K. Dick could have imagined and also, clearly, highly entertaining to millions of people.

This blew up, if you’re curious obviously we had ventilation for the smoke and a kill switch to cut off the fires. We had professionals test this extensively and the guy in the video as stated is a professional stunt man. I take safety more serious than you could ever imagine.

— MrBeast (@MrBeast) September 29, 2025

Donaldson defended his uniquely gifted intuition for creating the debased content people crave by promising the whole stunt was tested with professionals multiple times, responding to viral posts about the stunt with additional context. The last thing Donaldson needs after lawsuits last year over alleged safety violations on his Amazon Prime show is people thinking he doesn’t take the premise of potentially roasting another human being alive for less than the median home price after taxes seriously.

“We had professionals test this extensively and the guy in the video as stated is a professional stunt man,” he wrote on X over the weekend. “I take safety more serious than you could ever imagine.” He expanded on the setup in a comment on the YouTube video as well.

Content creators tend to think any spectacle is defensible if they can say health and safety concerns have been attended to behind the scenes, but that’s not really it imho. Mr. Beast’s whole thing is that his subjects’ desperation for cash allows him—a wealthier person—to indulge his sadism.

— southpaw (@nycsouthpaw.bsky.social) 2025-09-29T12:45:09.235Z

“In case there’s any concern about the safety of the stuntman contestant, I just wanted to mention that we take safety extremely seriously,” he added. “Every challenge was tested by multiple stuntmen, we have a full rescue team on standby with firefighters, EMTs and divers equipped with an ambulance and fire truck. We also had a pyro team controlling the fires and multiple fire suppression methods on every challenge to ensure we could essentially turn off the fire if there was ever an issue. But our stunt coordinator did an amazing job as always, and none of these systems were ever needed. Just wanted to be transparent with you all since I saw some concern!”

This is the Catch-22 at the heart of this entire genre of extremely watchable algorithm-bait. Either the entire thing is so real and authentic that it’s an absolutely monstrous thing for everyone involved to be associated with and signals the utter depravity of modern capitalism, or the stunt is all so fake and performative that none of it matters and you’ve been conned out of 25 minutes of your week just so some guy can hock candy bars.

Either way, it kinda sucks!

Battlefield 6 feels more Battlefield, less battle royale, after overhauls to weapon handling

by admin September 29, 2025

Rory Norris, Guides Writer

Last week I was: playing way too much Borderlands 4.

This week I’ve been: continuing to play way too much Borderlands 4 and waiting for Battlefield 6.

One thing that surprised me from the Battlefield 6 beta back in August was that Battlefield Studios seemed to be aiming for a more casual, fast-paced experience. Smaller maps are one thing, but the remarkably frictionless weapon handling seriously ramped up the speed of shootouts and all but removed the need to tap or burst fire at longer ranges. Simply by slapping a single-port brake or the basic folding vertical grip on any weapon would immediately resolve any recoil issues.

In this way, the Battlefield 6 beta felt an awful lot like a battle royale—Call of Duty Warzone being the elephant in the room—in which weapons are highly efficient at way further ranges than they really should be. It was a shame, considering Battlefield has long prided itself on being more realistic/grounded/authentic (you name it) than Call of Duty. It’s also ironic, given that Battlefield 6 will actually have a battle royale component, and I’ve no doubt this more streamlined weapon handling was designed with this in mind.

Combined with the now-toned-down player pings, the updated weapon characteristics make for a much more impactful and tactile experience.

After a hands-on with both Battlefield 6’s larger maps and its campaign, it’s clear that Battlefield Studios took this criticism to heart. By overhauling weapons, namely, recoil and tap-fire characteristics since the public beta, all the guns now have much greater recoil that finally rewards your precision and demands a thought-out set of attachments. Take note of your firing mode hotkey, you’re gonna need it once more.

Related articles

You can see a clip of some weapon and attachment testing I did below:

What stood out to me is that each weapon actually fills a role now. Back in the beta, high rate of fire weapons were an easy go-to since the recoil was easily tamed, causing the likes of the M433, the M4A1, and SMGs such as the SGX to be not only lethal in close range, but also medium and sometimes even long ranges.

Testing these weapons during the preview builds, that’s no longer the case. I struggled to use the M4A1 to beam enemies at far-out enemies, especially if my opponent had a slower, more precise weapon, or if I was moving while firing. But if they entered my domain, I had a distinct leg-up on them instead, what with it being a bullet-hose with more agile handling.

The one knock on effect of this is that the recoil-reducing attachments are perhaps a little too undertuned now. With a stronger kick, you might be tempted to slap on the more costly recoil-reducing grips and muzzles to help you at range, but these all come with a hefty hit to accuracy. In other words, you’ll be able to control the recoil enough at range, but your bullets won’t land anywhere near where you aim, so what’s the point? I got the impression it’s much better to focus on mobility and general weapon handling instead, though I’ve no doubt there’ll be another balancing pass for launch.

Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals, as picked by the PC Gamer team.

Combined with the now-toned-down player pings, the updated weapon characteristics make for a much more impactful and tactile experience. Unlike the beta, I’m more interested in unlocking later equipment in the hopes that it fills a niche that the basic M433 or M4A1 can’t, and that can only be a good thing.

Sony Celebrates 30 Years Of PlayStation With Cool Book

by admin September 29, 2025

PlayStation is turning 30 this year. That’s, uh, a lot of years. Well, what better way to sit around reminiscing about the past than to flip through a lovely coffee-table book chronicling the last three decades of PlayStation hardware? You’ll have to wait until spring of next year to do so, and it’ll cost you a pretty penny, but if you love the history of product and hardware development and appreciate a good photography book, Sony and publisher Read-Only Memory have something in store for you.

In a blog post celebrating the 30-year mark, Sony showed off some images of its gorgeous-looking photography book PlayStation: The First 30 Years. It comes in two hardcover editions at 400 pages each, and documents various prototype concepts of gamepads, consoles, logo design sketches, and more. The standard edition goes for $125, while a limited run of 1994 (the year the first PlayStation shipped in Japan) deluxe-edition copies encased in a foil-stamped box and featuring other goodies will also be produced.

Even if you think you’ve seen every conceivable prototype or concept for the PlayStation brand, there might still be some surprises in these pages for you yet. I mean, take a look at this thing!

Now no one can tell me that the boomerang controller concept from the PS3 was the most uncomfortable-looking idea from Sony. And speaking of that thing, I sure hope there are more photos of it in these pages.

Dogecoin Price Stages Big Rebound as Volume Rockets 65%

by admin September 29, 2025

Dogecoin (DOGE), the king of meme coins, has staged a big rebound as the volume recorded a massive uptick in the last 24 hours. DOGE’s price has climbed by over 2.55%, higher than Bitcoin’s 2.5%. CoinMarketCap data shows Dogecoin’s volume has skyrocketed by more than 65% within this period.

Is SEC decision on DOGE ETFs behind market optimism?

Dogecoin is witnessing this level of volume increase as the market anticipates key decisions from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Notably, the SEC has a deadline to rule on over a dozen DOGE exchange-traded funds (ETFs). The SEC has to decide on these applications in October.

The volume spike might be a sign that investors are actively accumulating the meme coin in anticipation of a possible approval. Many believe that an approval could increase institutional adoption and trigger further price increases.

Polls on the crypto market have placed the approval chances of the spot DOGE ETF at 92%.

Additionally, the Altcoin Season Index has increased to 66, signaling more funds are rotating from Bitcoin to assets like DOGE.

As of press time, the Dogecoin price was changing hands at $0.2369, which represents a 3.27% increase in the last 24 hours. The meme coin, within this time frame, rose from a low of $0.2292 to a peak of $0.2375, suggesting potential for higher price levels.

The trading volume has soared by 80.25% to $2.35 billion as market participants are gripped by a fear of missing out (FOMO). They are likely accumulating the asset as the price is still below the critical $0.30 level.

If DOGE can break out above this price resistance level, the meme coin could proceed to post impressive gains. Some believe that this might be the last opportunity for investors to buy Dogecoin cheaply, as prices could soar astronomically if technical patterns align.

Utility push adds long-term value for Dogecoin

Meanwhile, Timothy Stebbing, Director, Dogecoin Foundation, is pushing for more utility for the meme coin. Stebbing argued that increased utility will drive the adoption of DOGE in the broader financial space. The goal is to ensure that DOGE gains acceptance and pulls in more users to the ecosystem.

The meme coin’s golden cross formation could support its upward movement and allow it to exit bear traps in the market. Dogecoin is likely to surge past $0.50 if a bullish breakout occurs, and the leading cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, records a surge too.
