Shinobi: Art Of Vengeance Is Getting Sega Guest DLC, Including Sonic’s Eggman

by admin August 19, 2025

Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is due out later this month, and now Sega has announced a fun if surprising bit of DLC that’s coming “early 2026.” Dubbed the Sega Villains Stage, details are still pretty light on the DLC, but Sonic the Hedgehog’s Dr. Eggman is set to appear as a boss fight. Alongside that, protagonist Joe Musashi will have two other guest villains to take on, though they are yet to be revealed. If you’re picking up the digital deluxe edition of Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, you’ll automatically unlock it whenever the DLC does arrive next year.

Sega also announced that Young Dirty Bastard (YDB), i.e. the son of the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard from Wu-Tang Clan, is releasing a song called The Path Has Just Begun inspired by the Shinobi series. It’ll be released on streaming services this week, August 21, and you can expect a new trailer for the game on the same day.

Now Playing: Shinobi: Art of Vengeance – Announcement Trailer

Shinobi: Art of Vengeance was teased back at The Game Awards in 2023 before getting a proper reveal earlier this year, bringing the series back to its roots with 2D action-platforming. It’s also the first new game in the series since 2011’s Shinobi 3D, a 3DS title that received average reviews at the time. This new Shinobi game comes as part of a broader move by Sega to bring back some of its legacy titles that haven’t received a new entry in many years, like Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi. A movie adaptation of the Shinobi series is also in the works.

You’ll be able to pick up Shinobi: Art of Vengeance on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC when it launches on August 29.

‘Skibidi,’ ‘Tradwife,’ and 6,000 Other New Words Are in the Dictionary Now

by admin August 19, 2025

Before you roll your eyes at the Gen Alpha in your life for using made-up words, you might want to check the latest update to the dictionary. Cambridge University announced that its most recent revisions to the Cambridge Dictionary add 6,000 new words, including a slew of internet-pilled ones like skibidi, tradwife, and delulu.

“It’s not every day you get to see words like skibidi and delulu make their way into the Cambridge Dictionary. We only add words where we think they’ll have staying power. Internet culture is changing the English language, and the effect is fascinating to observe and capture in the Dictionary,” Colin McIntosh, Lexical Program Manager at Cambridge Dictionary, said in a statement.

Note that the measurement here is staying power, not whether we want it to stick around. To McIntosh’s point, “skibidi”—defined as “a word that can have different meanings such as ‘cool’ or ‘bad,’ or can be used with no real meaning as a joke”—has already been around for nearly a decade, with its first usage tracked to a 2018 song released by Little Big. The song, titled “Skibidi,” has over 700 million views on YouTube. Of course, the term came to prominence in 2023 thanks to a deeply brain-rotted YouTube series and became so popular that Kim Kardashian wore the word on a necklace for no apparent reason.

Another entry, ‘tradwife,’ is fascinating to consider in terms of staying power, as it references an older model of familial structure. It’s literally short for “traditional wife,” suggesting that the users recognize that the term “wife” has moved away from their preferred definition. Interestingly, Cambridge identifies tradwife as a uniquely online identity, defining it as “a married woman, especially one who posts on social media, who stays at home doing cooking, cleaning, etc. and has children that she takes care of.”

A link to the internet or technology is a central aspect of many of Cambridge’s new terms. Others that made the cut include “mouse jiggler,” referring to software that keeps your screen active so it looks like you’re working, and “broligarchy,” defined as “a small group of men, especially men owning or involved in a technology business, who are extremely rich and powerful, and who have or want political influence.” We’ll give you three guesses as to whom that term applies.

One term that is not particularly modern but has just made the cut: “work spouse.” Which is defined as “a person with whom someone has a close, but not romantic, relationship at work, in which the two people help and trust each other in the same way that a married couple does.” That one almost feels like a word from another era, making it a fascinating inclusion in a tech-heavy batch.

If seeing some of those terms make it into the dictionary gets you riled up, you should know that Cambridge is constantly adding new words. You don’t have to use them, but it’s nice to be able to look them up when others do.

Wyoming’s ‘Frontier’ Stablecoin Debuts on Ethereum, Solana and Avalanche

by admin August 19, 2025

In brief

  • Wyoming’s Frontier Stable Token debuted on seven networks, including Ethereum, Solana, and Avalanche.
  • The token could offer a yield in the future, while funding local education.
  • It could theoretically be issued on more than 110 networks through LayerZero.

Wyoming’s stablecoin debuted across seven blockchains on Tuesday, a new milestone for the Cowboy State as it officially enters the $285 billion sector.

Issued in partnership with LayerZero, the Frontier Stable Token (FRNT) will operate across Ethereum, Solana, and Avalanche, along with four Ethereum scaling networks—Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, and Base—the blockchain infrastructure provider and Wyoming Stable Token Commission said in a joint statement.

Although the stablecoin sector has been dominated for years by crypto-native firms like Tether and Circle, FRNT, previously known as the Wyoming Stable Token (WYST), represents the first state-backed token issued in the U.S. Wall Street firms, meanwhile are mulling their own offerings.

The Commission and LayerZero described FRNT as a “constitutionally-protected public asset” that’s not subject to “arbitrary usage restrictions,” unlike many alternatives.

Like most stablecoins, FRNT will be backed by cash and U.S. Treasuries—but instead of benefiting a business, interest generated by FRNT’s reserves will be diverted to Wyoming’s School Foundation Fund on a quarterly basis, serving its citizens as a public good.

Individuals tied to FRNT’s introduction told Decrypt last month that the token will be unique because it’s not regulated under the GENIUS Act. The framework for stablecoins that passed last month does not apply to FRNT because Wyoming is a sovereignty—not a business—they said.

That means FRNT could eventually share a portion of the revenue its reserves generate with holders. That feature won’t be enabled on Tuesday, as it’s still being ironed out, Wyoming Democratic State Senator Chris Rothfuss told Decrypt in July.

The initiative has caught flack from some U.S. conservatives., who have compared FRNT to a central bank digital currency, but Anthony Apollo, executive director of Wyoming’s Stable Token Commission, has pushed back against concerns over users’ financial sovereignty.

Apollo has maintained, for months, that FRNT is not a CBDC because it can’t be issued in the same way that central banks create cash. On top of that, the state may challenge requests to seize or freeze funds, if they conflict with the state’s constitutional mandates.

One example: A company issuing a stablecoin could change their policies to prohibit the purchase of firearms with their token, while Wyoming wouldn’t be able to do the same because of its obligation to uphold the Second Amendment, Apollo said.

The stablecoin’s debut came amid the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium, an invite-only event at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Jackson Hole in Teton Village, where U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Paul Atkins is expected to speak.

FRNT was built using LayerZero’s Omnichain Fungible Token (OFT) standard, which also powers PayPal’s PYUSD stablecoin. Tokens issued under the standard can theoretically exist on over 110 blockchains that LayerZero supports.

A constitutionally-protected asset may not mean much to someone purchasing a cup of coffee in New York, but it could matter to people overseas who face high inflation or authoritative governments, LayerZero co-founder and CEO Bryan Pellengrino told Decrypt.

Not long ago, it was unclear whether something like FRNT would even be allowed in the U.S., he said, pointing to the regulatory scrutiny that followed the $40 billion collapse of Terra’s ecosystem in 2022—marked by the meltdown of its TerraUSD (UST) algorithmic stablecoin.

“It’s a crazy bellwether for the industry that I’m not sure people fully recognize,” he said, referring to FRNT’s debut. “Just a couple of years ago, all that people were talking about is that stablecoins are going to be banned.”

Wyoming State Launches Frontier Stable Token (FRNT)

by admin August 19, 2025

Wyoming state announced on Tuesday the mainnet launch of its U.S. dollar stablecoin Frontier Stable Token (FRNT), claiming it to be the first fully-reserved stablecoin in the country issued by a public entity.

“The mainnet launch of the Frontier Stable Token will empower our citizens and businesses with a modern, efficient, and secure means of transacting in the digital age,” Mark Gordon, governor of Wyoming and chairman of the Wyoming Stable Token Commission, said in a statement.

The token has already been deployed on the Arbitrum

, Avalanche , Base, Ethereum , Optimism , Polygon (POL), and Solana networks, blockchain data on the project’s website shows. The token is designed to be 2% over-collateralized, backed by U.S. dollars and short-duration U.S. treasuries held in trust.

The token will be available for the broader public in the coming days on Solana through Wyoming-domiciled exchange Kraken and Rain’s Visa-integrated card platform on the Avalanche blockchain, the press release said.

The announcement, coincided with the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium conference in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, follows the U.S. enacting federal laws with the GENIUS Act to regulate the fast-growing stablecoin sector and issuers.

Stablecoins are a $260 billion class of cryptocurrencies with prices tied to an external asset like the U.S. dollar. They could become a trillion dollar market in the next few years and disrupt payments flows as adoption in the real economy expands, crypto trading firm Keyrock projected in a recent report.

Wyoming, known for its forward stance on blockchain legislation, created the Wyoming Stable Token Commission in 2023 to develop and issue a U.S. dollar-backed token and oversee its integration into public finances. Last month, the state conducted a test transaction for real-time government contractor payment on the Avalanche-based Hashfire.

The Commission has partnered with LayerZero for token issuance, Fireblocks for blockchain infrastructure, Franklin Advisers for reserves management, Inca Digital for open-source intelligence and The Network Firm for audits and monthly attestations, all selected through a procurement process, the press release said.

Jake Paul fights Logan Paul’s wedding cake and the internet is baffled

by admin August 19, 2025

Jake Paul left the internet baffled after ‘fighting’ with Logan Paul and Nina Agdal’s wedding cake during their celebrations in Lake Como.

Influencer weddings have, for the longest time, left the internet skeptical. Jake Paul and Tana Mongeau got ‘married’ back in 2019, and charged fans to be able to watch it. The marriage was never legal, but the ceremony obviously had plenty of hijinks involved.

So, when Logan Paul announced that he and Nina Agdal were to get married, the internet raised a collective eyebrow at it. However, the pair did officially get married during a lavish, multi-million dollar celebration on Lake Como, Italy.

Article continues after ad

Naturally, plenty of content creators were invited, including Logan’s brother Jake. And it was the YouTuber-turned-fighter who stole the show after trading punches with the wedding cake. Seriously.

Jake Paul beats up Logan Paul’s wedding cake

After Logan and Nina tied the not, ‘The Maverick’ invited his brother towards the cake where he proceeded to launch ‘Jake vs Cake’ and a barrage of punches at it.

Logan could be seen hyping Jake up as he delivered the blows, with the pair embracing after the ‘Problem Child’ had thrown enough punches. Yet, the internet wasn’t sold on what had gone on.

“Oh look Jake Paul spent a lot of money to hit something that doesn’t hit back again,” one fan quipped. “Man… wtf ? Bro literally just fights anything,” another joked. “I kinda wanted a slice tho…,” Jake’s video editor even commented.

The moment will, no doubt, appear on Logan’s post-wedding vlog, and the pair might explain why they decided to beat up a helpless piece of confectionery.

We probably wouldn’t count it as a win on Jake’s boxing record, but some would argue that he has fought worse opponents than a literal cake tower.

Ethereum Community Buzzed with Trustless Agents (ERC-8004) Discussion

by admin August 19, 2025

The Ethereum community is currently abuzz with the emergence and discussions around a new standard ERC-8004, dubbed Trustless Agents. This newly unveiled development promises to revolutionize the interaction of autonomous AI agents in a trustless environment like Ethereum Network.

Introduced by Davide Crapis, the Trustless Agents standard builds on the Agent-to-Agent (A2A) protocol and has sparked a flurry of discussions within Ethereum developers, researchers, and blockchain enthusiasts weighing in on its potential to shape a decentralized AI economy.

“This standard extends the Agent‑to‑Agent (A2A) protocol with a trust layer that allows participants to discover, choose, and interact with agents across organizational boundaries without pre‑existing trust,” Crapis stated in a latest Ethereum Magicians post,” adding, “It introduces three lightweight, on‑chain registries—Identity, Reputation, and Validation—and leaves application‑specific logic to off‑chain components.”

Crapis said that while this proposed ERC goes for public discussion, his team will work closely with the Linux Foundation and A2A ecosystem stakeholders to make it efficient and improve its specifications.

The proposal positions Ethereum as a critical substrate for AI, not for running models directly but for providing a secure, tamper-proof ledger that no single corporation or government can alter. This vision contrasts sharply with reliance on centralized platforms like Google APIs or proprietary databases, a concern amplified by growing distrust in corporate data control.

What Exactly are ERC-8004 and Trustless Agents

From the technical perspective, ERC-8004 is currently a proposed smart-contract standard on Ethereum. It can simply be understood with the approach of NFT smart contracts, which follows ERC-721 Ethereum standard. For simple tokens, ERC-20 is the most commonly used standard.

The proposed ERC-8004 standard extends the A2A protocol—an open infrastructure developed by Google in collaboration with 50+ partners—by introducing a trust layer that enables AI agents to discover, choose, and interact across organizational boundaries.

It leverages three lightweight on-chain registries: Identity, Reputation, and Validation. These registries provide a verifiable anchor for agent identity, an immutable record of behavior, and proofs of action, respectively, while leaving application-specific logic to off-chain components.

Scope for the Trustless Agents

Explaining the importance of Trustless Agents, an anonymous member of the Ethereum Foundation, Binji stated that ERC-8004 could serve as the backbone of a “machine economy,” where millions of autonomous agents operate. They can transact, negotiate, and form coalitions—potentially even decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs).

ethereum is SERIOUSLY gearing up for ai. (erc-8004) by @DavideCrapis just dropped, it’s called “trustless agents” and here’s what you need to know:

but first:

you can think of ethereum as an important substrate for ai, not necessarily because it can run all the models, but… pic.twitter.com/cxP8OR1CTB

— binji (@binji_x) August 18, 2025

“This is a practical ERC that can be used and iterated on in the wild; the specifics can stay offchain, but the skeleton of trust lives on ethereum,” Binji wrote.

While the demand for AI infrastructure is rising, Trustless Agents could gain significant traction. It sits on the intersection of both the emerging sectors—decentralized technologies and artificial intelligence—which are rising trends across a number of innovations.

The Road Ahead

As ERC-8004 undergoes public discussion, developers are working closely with the Linux Foundation—which is hosting the A2A protocol—and A2A team to refine the specification. With Ethereum Layer 2 solutions addressing scalability hurdles, the standard could lay the foundation for a sci-fi future where AI agents operate autonomously on a decentralized trust layer.

If passed for implementation, ERC-8004 could reshape Ethereum’s role as a decentralized infrastructure provider. For now, the Ethereum community remains cautiously optimistic, with many viewing ERC-8004 as a critical step toward a decentralized AI economy.

Black Ops 7 release date spotted in the wilds ahead of Call of Duty’s latest Gamescom blowout

by admin August 19, 2025

True to the game’s billing as the twistiest of duty-shooters, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s release date trailer appears to have leaked ahead of a possible Gamescom Opening Night Live showing tonight. The new FPS will launch on 14th November, close to a month after rival Battlefield 6’s release on October 10th. Also, it appears to have jet packs and mechs.

The leak comes care of that ever-dependable source of military intelligence, a video advertisement that seems to have been accidentally published early. The ad has now been removed, but not before CharlieIntel spotted it and shared it on the Xeetbox, along with some thoughts based on the user’s own pre-release access. “Just to tone down expectations, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 does not have jet packs or double jumps as part of its movement,” CharlieIntel claims. Alas for Black Ops 3 and Halo: Reach players. Good news, I guess, for people who relish the ‘omnimovement’ of Black Ops 6.

Here is what we know of Call of Duty: Bleven for sure: it requires secure boot, to avoid cheaters. It’s got the usual co-op, zombies and competitive multiplayer bits. The campaign is set in 2035, hence the mechs and jet packs, and expands upon the global calamities unleashed in Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 6. It sees grizzly grumbleface David Mason chasing after an enigmatic new foe who “weaponise fear”. There will probably be hallucinations and other Manchurian Candidate-esque horseplay to wash down the gadgets and gunnery.

As reported by VGC, today’s release date whoopsie corroborates a previous leak that also included a price tag for the Standard Edition – $70 or €80 – with a Vault Edition priced at $100 or €110. If legit, this means that Microsoft has still yet to cross the Rubicon and raise the game’s base US price to $80, as they tried to do with The Outer Worlds 2 until the internet started screaming at them.

The Best Cooling Sheets (2025): Brooklinen, Slumber Cloud, Buffy

by admin August 19, 2025

There’s a lot of terminology thrown around in the world of cooling sheets and cooling mattresses. Temperature regulating! Airflow! Moisture wicking! Phase-change material! Most of the time, these features come back to how breathable the sheets are. Breathability means moisture can better evaporate, and “temperature-regulating” usually means the sheets are breathable enough to release the heat and moisture from your body.

What makes sheets breathable? Cotton, flax linen, and bamboo have great breathability, but not all sheets are made equally, so material alone isn’t a guarantee. Weave, as in percale’s one-over-one threads versus sateen’s three-over-one, and weight (including thread count) of the bedding comes into play. Higher thread counts are less breathable, and tighter weaves will be less breathable too. The yarn within the fabric is also important, as well as how twisted it is—a higher twist makes for a smoother, cooler feel to the fabric, while a loose twist isn’t as smooth and can trap heat.

Some companies treat sheets with something called phase-change materials, or PCMs, which are substances that absorb and release energy to either heat or cool an area. “PCMs create a microclimate,” says Karen Leonas, a professor of textile sciences at the Wilson College of Textiles at North Carolina State University. Excess body heat is absorbed by these materials and then released to the body when it’s cool.

These treatments can raise the price of cooling sheets, but they’re not super popular yet, and it’s hard to determine how well incorporated it is into the fabric. “PCMs go through thermal cyclic testing and have shown to last a long time,” Leonas says. “If this is a surface treatment, there is the possibility that some of the microcapsules will be lost due to abrasion.” Parima Ijaz, CEO of Pure Parima, agrees and says these treatments sometimes only last up to 10 washes. There are only a handful of sheets on the market that tout their use of PCMs, and our guide focuses on breathable materials and weaves rather than these treatments. It’s worth noting that PCMs will last much longer on a foam mattress, according to Leonas. If you’re still sweating at night after switching to cooling sheets, try a cooling mattress.

Eight games, including an overlooked Metroidvania, will leave PlayStation Plus in September

by admin August 19, 2025

The games set to leave PlayStation Plus Extra in September have been revealed. The eight titles include some very good games, so you might want to make some time before 16th September to get them played.

As these games are part of the Game Catalogue and not the monthly games that you claim as part of PS Plus Essential, these games will no longer be playable from 16th September even if they are in your library.

Leaving PS Plus Extra on 16th September:

  • UFC 5 (PS5)
  • The Plucky Squire (PS5)
  • Night in the Woods (PS5, PS4)
  • Road 96 (PS5, PS4)
  • Pistol Whip (PSVR2)
  • Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir (PS4)
  • FIST: Forged In Shadow Torch (PS5, PS4)
  • Dragon’s Crown Pro (PS4)

Of the bunch, I’d certainly recommend FIST: Forged In Shadow Torch, especially if you are partial to a Metroidvania. Pistol Whip is superb if you have PS VR2, and the Plucky Squire is definitely worth a look even though it didn’t quite live up to pre-launch expectations. Night in the Woods is also excellent.

In fact, why stop there… Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir and Dragon’s Crown Pro are also very good games. So, really, what I’m saying is, don’t rush to play UFC 5 (which is fine, but just more UFC) or Road 96 (didn’t enjoy the writing on this, unfortunately), but all the others are worth your time.

This is a news-in-brief story. This is part of our vision to bring you all the big news as part of a daily live report.

All BTC Wallet Cohorts Now in Distribution Mode

by admin August 19, 2025

Sentiment in the crypto industry can shift quickly.

According to Glassnode data, all bitcoin

wallet cohorts are currently in some form of distribution. The Accumulation Trend Score (ATS), broken down by wallet cohort, helps measure the relative strength of accumulation or distribution across entity sizes.

This metric evaluates accumulation strength by considering both the size of the entities and the amount of bitcoin acquired over the past 15 days.

  • A score closer to 1 indicates accumulation.
  • A score closer to 0 indicates distribution.
Exchanges, miners, and certain other entities are excluded from the calculation.

At present, from large holders with more than 10,000 BTC to small wallets holding less than 1 BTC, all cohorts appear to be in distribution. This marks a sharp reversal from just over a week ago, when all groups were in accumulation mode as bitcoin reached new all time highs above $124,000.

The current phase of distribution reflects profit taking. Historically, bitcoin tends to correct shortly after setting new record highs. The aggregate Accumulation Trend Score has printed 0.26, remaining below 0.5 for the past several days.

Bitcoin has posted four consecutive green months from April through July. However, August is often characterized by quieter trading activity and reduced volume. In fact, the last three Augusts each saw corrections in the double-digit percentage range.
