Wyndham Clark apologizes for flinging driver at PGA Championship

by admin May 19, 2025

May 19, 2025, 04:13 PM ET

Wyndham Clark apologized Monday for letting his frustrations get the best of him and dangerously flinging his driver after a poor tee shot during the final round of the PGA Championship.

Clark, who was 3 over for the tournament and was coming off a bogey, hit his tee shot to the right on No. 16. Before the ball even landed, Clark brought the club back and violently flung it into signage behind the tee box — a few feet from a volunteer holding a flag.

The impact left a hole in the signage and snapped the head of Clark’s driver off the shaft. He tossed the broken shaft to the side, leaving both pieces of the club behind as he made his way to his ball in the bunker.

“I would like to sincerely apologize for my behavior yesterday on Hole 16,” Clark posted to X on Monday. “As professionals, we are expected to remain professional even when frustrated and I unfortunately let my emotions get the best of me. My actions were uncalled for and completely inappropriate, making it clear that I have things I need to work on.

“I hold myself to a high standard, trying to always play for something bigger than myself, and yesterday I fell short of those standards. For that I am truly sorry. I promise to better the way I handle my frustrations on the course going forward, and hope you all can forgive me in due time.”

Clark, who won the 2023 U.S. Open, had a run of four consecutive bogeys on the front nine en route to a 3-over 74 on Sunday to finish in a tie for 50th at 4 over — 15 strokes behind winner Scottie Scheffler.

Bitcoin Whipsaws From $107,000 To $103,000: What Went Wrong?

by admin May 19, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Bitcoin surrendered a weekend burst above $107,000 and was last changing hands near $103,200 in European trade, a $4,000 round-trip that unfolded in less than twelve hours. The leading cryptocurrency printed an intraday high of $107,111 during thin Asian hours before liquidity evaporated and spot markets on Binance and Coinbase slid to $102,000.

Bitcoin’s Violent Swing Explained

The volatility landed on the heels of Moody’s decision late Friday to cut the sovereign credit rating of the United States to Aa1, stripping the world’s largest economy of the last triple-A crown it still retained after downgrades by S&P (2011) and Fitch (2023). Moody’s cited an “uninterrupted rise in debt and interest costs” as the main driver. US 30-year Treasury yields poked above 5% for the first time since April, deepening the risk-off tone across equities and high-beta assets.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent dismissed the ratings move in a televised interview on Sunday: “Moody’s is a lagging indicator. We didn’t get here in the past 100 days. We inherited a 6.7 percent deficit-to-GDP, the highest ever outside a recession or war. We are determined to bring spending down and grow the economy.”

Macro anxiety, rather than any crypto-specific headline, explains most of the pull-back, yet derivatives positioning amplified the swing. Coinglass data shows more than $665 million worth of leveraged positions were liquidated on the entire crypto market as perpetual funding flipped sharply positive into the spike and then reversed.

Dealers long gamma “seized the opportunity to lock in profits,” Singapore-based QCP Capital wrote in its Monday note, adding that the weekend pop owed much to “Metaplanet’s $104 million BTC purchase, alongside Strategy Inc.’s usual accumulation.” Still, QCP argued that Bitcoin’s ability to rally while equities softened “reinforces BTC’s positioning as a legitimate store of value.”

Flows into the ten US spot-Bitcoin exchange-traded funds underline that narrative. As of 29 April — the latest consolidated figure — the ETFs had drawn a cumulative $38.99 billion of net subscriptions and hold roughly 1.14 million BTC after another $591 million day of inflows, according to Farside Investors data.

Technical traders remain divided on what comes next. Adam Khoo, founder of Piranha Profits, reminded his 450,000 followers on X that previous US downgrades triggered 10% corrections in the S&P 500 but were fully erased within a year. “If the SPX drops another 10 percent this round, it would be another great opportunity for me to load up on high-quality businesses,” he wrote, musing whether markets will “panic a third time or be smarter now.”

For Bitcoin, the picture is less binary. On-chain data show exchange balances at multi-year lows, and options desks report persistent call-side skew — evidence, QCP says, of “structurally bullish” positioning despite the whipsaw. Yet traders eye the $101,000–$100,000 band as first-line support; a decisive break could expose the 50-day exponential moving average near $98,400, while reclaiming $107,000 would reopen January’s record high at $109,114.

Until then, the asset appears content to digest the Moody’s shock — and to let macro traders, not crypto die-hards, set the tempo of the next move.

At press time, BTC traded at $102,605.

Fancy a Witcher 3 10th anniversary playthrough with extra “classic RPG feel”? Well, this new mod gives it a totally revamped Witcher 1-style skill system

by admin May 19, 2025

In case you missed it, The Witcher 3 is now a decade old. We’re all knee-deep in replays of old games right now, but if all the TW3 anniversary chat has you thinking about firing it up again, a new mod looks like it’ll offer an interesting twist for folks looking forward to The Witcher Remake.

After all, how best to switcher up your Witcher experience than swapping one Witcher skill system for a different Witcher skill system from an older Witcher game. That way, you can see Witcher is better. All right, I’ll stop mucking about.

To see this content please enable targeting cookies.

Manage cookie settings

The mod is Gerwant30’s Witcher 1 talent trees remake for The Witcher 3, with its creator having previously scored second place on one of CD Projekt’s REDkit modding contests with a work that lets you explore a bit of Cintra.

Now, as part of their ongoing “Tales of the Witcher” project, they’ve had a go at adding their own version of first Witcher game’s skill system into TW3, with the goal of giving you “a lot more control” over Geralt’s development via “13 new talent trees and over 200 new skills”. “This mod attempts to recreate that feeling and philosophy within The Witcher 3,” Gerwant30 explained, “replacing the standard skill trees with a more layered and, hopefully, rewarding progression system.”

Watch on YouTube

As you can see in the showcase video above, the mod sees you work up and earn bronze, silver, and gold talents across trees dedicated to the likes of strength and dexterity as you level up. You’ll start off by earning bronzes early-game, then gradually move on the silvers and golds as you get more proficient and gradually morph into a master witcher.

There are four main skill trees including the two mentioned earlier, each with 17 skills, but that’s far from it. The five Witcher signs each have their own 18 skill strong tree “allowing for deep specialization”, and there are four combat skill trees aimed at “strong” and “fast” attacks with your steel and silver blades.

“Your power comes mostly from how you build your character,” the modder writes, “Skills, talents, and preparation define your strength, equipment statistics are less important.” Certainly a lot to tweak if you’re a fan of in-depth build engineering, though it’s worth noting that this being a beta, a fair amount of the skills and features are still very much a work-in-progress.

It’s also worth noting that Gerwant30’s designed the mod to work exclusively with “a fresh new game in the base version of The Witcher 3 only”, with them being very clear that existing saves and standalone playthroughs of the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine DLC won’t work as intended. They also intend for it to be used with another mod, SkylineR390’s ‘Alchemy’, so you’ll need to grab that if you fancy giving this skill tree mod a go.

PsychoCaki’s ‘SCAAR’ and a camera mod like TheMenxceX and ElementaryLewis’ ‘Immersive Camera for Next Gen’ are also on Gerwant30’s recommended list.

Did you prefer the first Witcher game’s more old-school approach to skills, or is how TW3 does things second nature at this point and not something you’d want to tweak? Let us know below!

‘The Last of Us’ Will Need a 4th Season to Finish Its Story

by admin May 19, 2025

Next season of The Last of Us won’t be the last of it. In a new interview, the show’s co-creator Craig Mazin said that the upcoming third season of the show will not finish the story of the second video game, The Last of Us Part II. “There’s no way to complete this narrative in a third season,” Mazin said. “Hopefully, we’ll earn our keep enough to come back and finish it in a fourth. That’s the most likely outcome.”

The quote comes from an extensive interview with Collider where Mazin, ahead of the upcoming season two finale, spoke about working on the third season, which HBO officially greenlit a few weeks back. “It would take forever,” Mazin said about finishing the events of the second game in the third season. “There are natural perforations in the narrative where you can go, ‘Okay, let’s tear it here.’ I think there’s a decent chance that season three will be longer than season two, just because the manner of that narrative and the opportunities it affords us are a little different. The thing about Joel’s death is that it’s so impactful. It’s such a narrative nuclear bomb that it’s hard to wander away from it. We can’t really take a break and move off to the side and do a Bill and Frank story. I’m not sure that will necessarily be true for season three. I think we’ll have a little more room there.”

Audiences have not yet seen where season two ends, but it certainly seems to be aiming at one of the second game’s biggest “perforations” that Mazin mentions. Assuming the game’s big point of view shift is the end of this season, there is definitely a lot more story to go, but it’s a bit of a surprise to hear Mazin flat out say they don’t want to wrap it up next season.

Thankfully, Mazin confirms that they don’t start writing anything until—not just the upcoming season is planned, but even further in advance. “We always think ahead,” he said. “We thought ahead to season three and season four, to try to get as much visibility as we can, so that we don’t end up in a situation where we’re sitting down and getting into details for a season and then going, ‘Oh, man, if only we hadn’t had that person say that one line or be in that spot or wear that jacket, this would be so much cooler.’ So, we really do try to think things through fundamentally. The challenge for our first season was, how do we tell this big story in a way that’s complete and doable within an amount of time and with the budget we have? And with this season, it was, ‘Okay, this source material goes way beyond one season.’”

In fact, it might take three seasons. The season two finale of The Last of Us airs Sunday; we’ll have much more then.

49 Million SHIB Burned as Shiba Inu Burn Rate Jumps 17,900%

by admin May 19, 2025

  • Shiba Inu token burn highlights community commitment
  • SHIB price dips amidst surging trading Interest

With a burn rate reaching 17,930% in just 24 hours, a whopping 49,046,845 Shiba Inu (SHIB) tokens have been permanently removed from circulation, according to the SHIB burn website.

The move is part of a major push to reduce the token’s supply and potentially increase its scarcity. Token burns are an important part of the network’s long-term strategy, where tokens are sent to inaccessible wallets deliberately, removing them from circulation forever.

Shiba Inu token burn highlights community commitment

As the burn rate increases, the supply reduces faster, which can lead to a rise in demand, provided there is plenty of activity in the ecosystem. The latest burn is one of the largest in recent weeks and further proves the Shiba Inu community and developers’ commitment to managing the token’s supply.

Source: Shibburn.com

The massive increase in the burn rate indicates either a sharp rise in transaction-based burns (where some tokens are automatically removed from circulation after every trade) or a coordinated effort to remove a large quantity of tokens at once.

You Might Also Like

Even though burns alone cannot guarantee price increases, investors watch them closely as a sign of the project’s long-term viability and community strength.

The SHIB Army remains one of the most active in the crypto ecosystem, with over 1.5 million holders. It continues to push the token’s adoption through partnerships, developments like Shibarium (a layer-2 blockchain), and consistent burns.

SHIB price dips amidst surging trading Interest

The 16th-ranked cryptocurrency by market cap is showing mixed signals on the price chart. According to the latest CoinMarketCap data, SHIB is currently trading at $0.00001442, down 1.45% over the past 24 hours.

Despite the drop in SHIB’s price, the token’s trading volume over the same period rose by 22.67% to $292.07 million, suggesting a sharp rise in interest in the token. One of SHIB’s unique features is its total supply of 589.5 trillion tokens, with almost all of it already in circulation.

Source: CoinMarketCap

While digital assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum have capped or controlled issuance, most of Shiba Inu’s supply was released at launch. Therefore, community-driven activities and burns are necessary to help maintain the token’s long-term value.

The token’s 24-hour trading volume to market cap ratio of 3.43% suggests that SHIB can be traded without drastic price swings.

Bitcoin ETFs Surpass $40 Billion in Cumulative Inflows

by admin May 19, 2025

  • Over $40 billion milestone
  • Bitcoin institutional demand rockets

Gracy Chen, CEO of the renowned cryptocurrency exchange Bitget, revealed a major milestone for the Bitcoin ecosystem in an X post on Monday.

According to the post, spot Bitcoin ETFs have surpassed a cumulative inflow of $40 billion as of May 19, building strong confidence among both retail and institutional Bitcoin investors.

Over $40 billion milestone

With 12 spot Bitcoin ETFs collectively amassing inflows worth tens of billions since their launch in early January 2024, institutional interest in Bitcoin remains strong despite periodic market volatility.

Following recent bullish moves in the leading cryptocurrencies, spot Bitcoin ETFs continue to attract significant capital. Data from popular crypto tracking platform SosoValue shows these ETFs brought in a total inflow of $260.27 million on May 16.

Source: SosoValue

BlackRock’s IBIT led the charge with a substantial $129.73 million inflow, followed by Fidelity’s FBTC and ARK & 21Shares’ ARKB, which posted $67.95 million and $57.98 million respectively.

As of May 16, total cumulative net inflows across all 12 ETFs have reached $41.77 billion.

This historic inflow signals Bitcoin’s transformation into a strategic asset class increasingly embraced by institutional giants and major financial firms.

Bitcoin institutional demand rockets

Gracy Chen emphasized the broader impact of this milestone on the crypto market, stating it reflects surging institutional confidence, particularly in Bitcoin.

She described the current trend as “the most institutionally anchored cycle in crypto history,” highlighting how this influx of institutional capital could lay the foundation for a long-term bull run.

While Bitcoin has shown mixed market signals recently, traders remain optimistic. Data from CoinMarketCap shows Bitcoin trading in the green, with a 1.74% price increase over the last 24 hours, pushing its current price to $105,450.90 as of press time.

Is She Really Mad at Me? Maybe ChatGPT Knows

by admin May 19, 2025

Kate’s real-life therapist is not a fan of her ChatGPT use. “She’s like, ‘Kate, promise me you’ll never do that again. The last thing that you need is more tools to analyze at your fingertips. What you need is to sit with your discomfort, feel it, recognize why you feel it.’”

A spokesperson for OpenAI, Taya Christianson, told WIRED that ChatGPT is designed to be a factual, neutral, and safety-minded general-purpose tool. It is not, Christianson said, a substitute for working with a mental health professional. Christianson directed WIRED to a blog post citing a collaboration between the company and MIT Media Lab to study “how AI use that involves emotional engagement—what we call affective use—can impact users’ well-being.”

For Kate, ChatGPT is a sounding board without any needs, schedule, obligations, or problems of its own. She has good friends, and a sister she’s close with, but it’s not the same. “If I were texting them the amount of times I was prompting ChatGPT, I’d blow up their phone,” she says. “It wouldn’t really be fair. I don’t need to feel shame around blowing up ChatGPT with my asks, my emotional needs.”

“I was just like, hey, did she break up with me?”

Andrew, who uses ChatGPT to navigate relationships.

Andrew, a 36-year-old man living in Seattle, has increasingly turned to ChatGPT for personal needs after a tough chapter with his family. While he doesn’t treat his ChatGPT use “like a dirty secret,” he’s also not especially forthcoming about it. “I haven’t had a lot of success finding a therapist that I mesh with,” he says. “And not that ChatGPT by any stretch is a true replacement for a therapist, but to be perfectly honest, sometimes you just need someone to talk to about something sitting right on the front of your brain.”

Andrew had previously used ChatGPT for mundane tasks like meal planning or book summaries. The day before Valentine’s Day, his then girlfriend broke up with him via text message. At first, he wasn’t completely sure he’d been dumped. “I think between us there was just always kind of a disconnect in the way we communicated,” he says. The text “didn’t actually say, ‘Hey, I’m breaking up with you’ in any clear way.”

Puzzled, he plugged the message into ChatGPT. “I was just like, hey, did she break up with me? Can you help me understand what’s going on?” ChatGPT didn’t offer much clarity. “I guess it was maybe validating, because it was just as confused as I was.”

Andrew has group chats with close friends that he would typically turn to in order to talk through his problems, but he didn’t want to burden them. “Maybe they don’t need to hear Andrew’s whining about his crappy dating life,” he says. “I’m kind of using this as a way to kick the tires on the conversation before I really kind of get ready to go out and ask my friends about a certain situation.”

“If I were texting them the amount of times I was prompting ChatGPT, I’d blow up their phone.”

Kate, a ChatGPT user

In addition to the emotional and social complexities of working out problems via AI, the level of intimate information some users are feeding to ChatGPT raises serious privacy concerns. Should chats ever be leaked, or if people’s data is used in an unethical way, it’s more than just passwords or emails on the line.

“I have honestly thought about it,” Kate says, when asked why she trusts the service with private details of her life. “Oh my God, if someone just saw my prompt history—you could draw crazy assumptions around who you are, what you worry about, or whatever else.”

Maestro to receive epic new DLC featuring Star Wars and is heading to PSVR2

by admin May 19, 2025

VR orchestral game Maestro is set to receive a new Star Wars themed DLC pack which adds “Star Wars: Episode 1 – ‘Duel of the Fates’ by John Williams” to the track list along with a new in-game lightsaber cosmetic, which is available to use as a baton. Additionally, it has been revealed that Maestro will launch on the PSVR2 on June 20th, alongside a Complete Collection Bundle which contains all previously released content packs.

As Yoda would say, “Control, control, you must learn control!” (or should it be Culture?) and that’s precisely what players need in the new DLC that was announced today for the VR orchestral game Maestro (Meta’s Game of the Year) on Meta, SteamVR & PICO.

The Star Wars content pack includes a brand new track from the iconic Star Wars: Episode 1 – ‘Duel of the Fates’ by John Williams, as well as a brand new in game cosmetic, a mini lightsaber ready to use as a baton, to transport you at lightspeed into the Star Wars universe, launching on June 20th for Quest, SteamVR, PICO AND PSVR2.

That’s right, today it was also confirmed that Maestro is heading to PSVR2 on June 20th and will launch with all content packs available as part of a Complete Collection Bundle, which will also be available on all platforms on the same day (June 20th) to celebrate.

To celebrate this major release, Maestro will also deliver a free update for all players on the same day:

A new “Fields of Fate” stage, a rain-soaked, apocalyptic arena where Heaven and Hell collide.

A new “Angels and Demons” orchestra split into two armies—angels and demons—reflecting the eternal struggle of Good versus Evil.

And the addition of Sergei Prokofiev’s powerful “Battle on the Ice” (from Alexander Nevsky) to the base tracklist—bringing another monumental clash of forces to the Maestro stage.

JP Morgan Boss Jamie Dimon Says Bank Will Allow Clients to Buy Bitcoin

by admin May 19, 2025

In brief

  • JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon has long slammed Bitcoin, once calling the digital coin “worthless.”
  • But at the bank’s investor day, the billionaire said his institution would allow customers to buy Bitcoin, but not custody it.

JP Morgan boss Jamie Dimon said on Monday that his bank will allow its customers to buy Bitcoin—the latest sign of the bank’s increased openness to the asset, despite Dimon’s years of criticizing the largest crypto by market value and digital assets more widely.

In remarks during the investment bank’s investor day, Dimon said that JP Morgan clients would soon be able to buy BTC, although the bank wouldn’t custody it.

“We are going to allow you to buy it,” Dimon said at the bank’s annual investor day on Monday. “We’re not going to custody it. We’re going to put it in statements for clients.”

The pronouncement represents a pivot for JP Morgan and wider embrace of the traditional finance world that once shunned Bitcoin.

Dimon has been particularly critical of Bitcoin, saying at one point that the biggest digital coin’s “true use case” was for criminals.

The billionaire banker has also called Bitcoin “a fraud,” and last year described it as a “pet rock,” before telling journalists he’d “shut it down” if he could.

“I’ve always been opposed to crypto, Bitcoin, etcetera,” he said in 2023.

But now—likely due to client demands—the bank will allow customers to buy it, Dimon said.

Decrypt reached out to the bank for comment.

Other top U.S. banks are also offering crypto-related products. Morgan Stanley boss Ted Pick said in January the bank would work with regulators to see how they could offer crypto safely and said in January that it would allow financial advisors to pitch some spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds to qualified customers.

Despite criticizing Bitcoin itself, Dimon, who’s been CEO of the world’s largest investment bank since 2006, has praised blockchain technology, and the bank has used the technology for its own projects.

U.S. regulators are now taking a more relaxed approach to the space since crypto-friendly Donald Trump became president last year.

Under the new commander in chief, the Securities and Exchange Commission in January rescinded the Staff Accounting Bulletin (SAB) No. 121, a bill that prevented banks from custodying digital assets.
