New Halloween Game Will Include Multiplayer And Story Mode

by admin August 20, 2025

A new Unreal Engine 5-powered horror game based on 1978’s Halloween from director John Carpenter is in the works and will launch next year. It’s titled Halloween: The Game, and will feature iconic slasher Michael Myers killing people on the night he returns home.

Announced on August 20, Halloween: The Game, which isn’t the most creative name, will be heavily inspired by the original movie and will feature a “one-versus-many stealth horror experience.” The game will let players put on Michael’s mask and stab their friends online in multiplayer or run away from the killer as a civilian of Haddonefield. IllFonic, the team developing Halloween: The Game, is a studio that has become well-known for its focus on asymmetrical online games like Predator: Hunting Grounds and the now-defunct Friday the 13th game.

Here’s the official trailer for Halloween: The Game:

In a press release for the newly announced horror game, it was confirmed that Halloween will include a story mode and the ability to play against bots, too. As someone who has been disappointed by so many horror movie franchises getting video game adaptations that are purely online-only, this is good news. And I imagine many other players will agree. Halloween: The Game will also feature “multiple maps” and a soundtrack “inspired by” that of the original Halloween movie. Interestingly, the original film’s director, John Carpenter, is credited as an executive producer on the upcoming game.

“Working with Compass International Pictures and Further Front has been a dream,” said Charles Brungardt, CEO of IllFonic. “As rights holders of the film and producers on the game, they’ve shared incredible insights to help us stay true to the soul of the 1978 film. Their tremendous passion for Michael Myers has pushed us to craft something that fans of the franchise will truly appreciate.”

Halloween: The Game is set to launch on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC in 2026. Kotaku has reached out to Illfonic to see if this project is the same one teased back in 2024.

Ethereum (ETH) Open Interest Hits ATH on CME

by admin August 20, 2025

  • Ethereum OI surges despite price slump
  • Ethereum flips positive

Despite the negative market trend faced by the crypto ecosystem over the past days, Ethereum has continued to make waves in key metrics.

On August 20, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization set a new record on the leading Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), according to data provided by Maartunn, a community analyst at CryptoQuant.

According to the source, over 14,250,000 ETH worth about $8.3 billion was committed in active futures contracts on the exchange, marking the highest level of open interest ever recorded for ETH derivatives on CME.

Ethereum OI surges despite price slump

This major milestone is coming at a time when the broad crypto market is facing massive price losses, with the prices of leading cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin and top altcoins returning to bare lows. Ethereum also had its share of the downtrend, with its price falling significantly below key resistance levels.

However, Ethereum has broken major grounds in open interest despite the declining momentum. The surge in Ethereum’s OI despite the negative sentiment is largely attributable to the spike in institutional engagements.

You Might Also Like

During the period, institutions and large ETH holders have shown resilience in accumulating large amounts of ETH, with spot Ethereum ETFs consistently recording daily inflows despite ETH’s price slump.

While Ethereum’s open interest in CME has remained consistently on the high side since the beginning of 2025, institutions and high-profile investors appear to have continuously opened ETH futures as efforts to boost its future price actions while maximizing gains.

Ethereum flips positive

Following this major milestone achieved on CME, Ethereum has seen a sudden reversal in its price amid a broad crypto market resurgence witnessed during the late hours of the day.

While rising open interest has often preceded sharp price movements, as leveraged positions historically spark both rallies and corrections, investors’ interests appear to have been restored.

Notably, speculations suggest that the surge in ETH’s OI on CME, which appears to have been triggered by new institutional positions on the exchange, may have fueled the fresh momentum as Ethereum retraces back above $4,300.

Amid the sudden shift in market sentiment, Ethereum has seen its price reflect an increase of 4.09% over the last day, with its price currently sitting at $4,326 according to data provided by CoinMarketCap.

Traders debate which coin will hit $1 first in the 2025-26 memecoin cycle

by admin August 20, 2025

Disclosure: This article does not represent investment advice. The content and materials featured on this page are for educational purposes only.

Dogecoin eyes the $1 milestone, but newcomer Little Pepe’s fast-selling presale is stealing the spotlight.

Summary

  • Dogecoin eyes $1, but LILPEPE’s fast presale raises $19.5m and gains momentum.
  • Its Layer-2 blockchain, low fees, and presale speed fuel 2025 price hype.
  • With 500× upside forecasted, LILPEPE could outpace Dogecoin in the race to $1.

Every memecoin cycle seems to have its big race, and for 2025–26, the finish line is clear: the $1 mark. Dogecoin has been inching toward it for over a decade, buoyed by Elon Musk tweets, retail nostalgia, and its place as crypto’s most recognizable joke token.

But this time, it’s not running alone. Little Pepe has stormed into the conversation, pulling in millions during its presale and selling tokens at a pace that’s hard to ignore.

Dogecoin: The meme veteran with a ceiling

Dogecoin is still the original memecoin brand. It’s the face plastered across internet culture, tipped in Reddit threads, and name-dropped by Elon Musk. That recognition is worth a lot in a market where perception drives price.

Right now, DOGE trades in the $0.23–$0.24 range. For it to touch $1, investors would need roughly a 4×–5× return. That’s not outlandish, but it’s more about sustaining cultural relevance than breaking new technological ground. Its structure is part of the problem.

DOGE is inflationary, adding new coins endlessly, and its proof-of-work chain offers little beyond transaction capability. Without DeFi layers, NFT markets, or smart contract support, DOGE’s growth story leans entirely on the meme and the crowd behind it. Analysts generally see it hitting $1 in a bullish run, but not in the explosive move that makes millionaires overnight.

Little Pepe: The infrastructure-powered underdog

LILPEPE doesn’t just want to join the memecoin conversation; it wants to rebuild the stage it’s happening on. The project runs on its own Ethereum-compatible Layer-2 blockchain, purpose-built for memecoins, combining:

  • Ultra-low fees for rapid trading
  • Zero taxes to encourage volume
  • Sniper-bot protection to prevent unfair early grabs
  • A meme-focused launchpad for community-driven projects

It’s a setup designed to attract speculative traders and become the go-to network for launching and hosting memecoins. But what’s catching traders’ attention right now is the presale speed. LILPEPE has already raised over $19.5 million across its first 10 stages.

Stage 11, priced at $0.0020, is disappearing fast, with more than 500 million tokens sold in under 24 hours, with less than 1 billion left before the price moves up to $0.0021. Early buyers from Stage 1 have already doubled their investment before the token even hits the open market.

Price predictions range from $0.10–$0.50 by the end of 2025 (50× returns) to more extreme forecasts of $1–$2 within the same timeframe, should the hype and adoption curve hold. At $1, that’s roughly 500× from today’s presale price.

The $1 race: Closer vs. faster

Some traders believe DOGE is the obvious frontrunner purely by proximity, just $0.76 away from the target. But the math hides the real story. For DOGE, a 4× jump requires a wave of mainstream adoption or a market frenzy strong enough to absorb billions in buying pressure.

For LILPEPE, the leap to $1 is mathematically massive, but these kinds of runs happen in short, intense bursts in the world of low-cap, high-hype memecoins. In the last two cycles, we’ve seen coins move from fractions of a cent to multiple dollars in under a year when momentum hit critical mass.

Community, hype, and the X-factor

Dogecoin’s community is loyal, but also older and less aggressive in viral marketing. LILPEPE’s crowd, by contrast, is in full-throttle mode, leveraging social media pushes, influencer endorsements, and a $777,000 giveaway to keep momentum high.

It’s also already topping memecoin trend trackers, outranking PEPE, DOGE, and SHIB in mentions from June through August 2025.

Add in confirmed exchange listings and whale accumulation, and you have a token building both the infrastructure and the hype machine before it even launches.

Bottom line

Dogecoin could hit $1; it’s been the dream of its holders for years, and with the right market conditions, it’s achievable. But LILPEPE isn’t waiting for the market to hand it an opportunity; it’s engineering one through tech, scarcity, and a presale that’s moving in real time. Ultimately, the race to $1 might not be about who’s closer but about who’s running faster. For traders willing to take the bigger risk for the bigger prize, LILPEPE’s path might be worth betting on.

PS5 prices increase from tomorrow in the U.S. as Sony “navigates a challenging economic environment”

by admin August 20, 2025

Sony is increasing the price of the PlayStation 5 in the U.S. as of tomorrow, August 21.

In a brief statement posted to the PlayStation Blog during Gamescom, the megacorp said that from tomorrow, the updated recommended retail price for all variations of the PS5 — base, digital edition, and PS5 Pro — will increase to:

  • PlayStation 5 – $549.99
  • PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – $499.99
  • PlayStation 5 Pro – $749.99

Previously, the PS5 retailed for $499.99, the digital edition $449.99, and the PS5 Pro for $699.99.

“Similar to many global businesses, we continue to navigate a challenging economic environment. As a result, we’ve made the difficult decision to increase the recommended retail price for PlayStation 5 consoles in the U.S. starting on August 21.”

Accessory prices remain unchanged, and Sony confirmed it had “no other price changes to announce for additional markets.”

We recently learned that Forza Horizon 5’s PS5 port has surpassed three million copies sold, making it the top new PS5 game of 2025 thus far.

Shiba Inu 699,000% Imbalance: What Happened To Trigger It?

by admin August 20, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Top meme coin Shiba Inu recorded a 699,000% liquidation imbalance as its price dropped sharply along with the broader crypto market. This has again sparked a bearish sentiment, with the bears looking to be in control.

How the Shiba Inu 699,000% Imbalance Happened

Coinglass data showed that the Shiba 699,000% imbalance occurred due to the large disparity in the long and short positions that were liquidated in the space of one hour. This came as the SHIB price sharply dropped alongside the broader crypto market, led by Bitcoin, which declined to as low as $112,500 in the last 24 hours.

The Shiba Inu price has dropped to as low as $0.00001206 during this period from an intraday high of $0.00001264, flushing a significant amount of long positions in the process. Further data from Coinglass shows that $425,230 in long positions have been wiped out in the 24-hour period, compared to just $11,230 in short positions.

This development has sparked a bearish sentiment among Shiba Inu’s bulls, who appear to be waiting to see how things unfold before reentering the market. SHIB’s open interest is down over 4% in the last 24 hours, currently at $191.38 million. Meanwhile, the derivatives trading volume is also down 2%, currently at $177.46 million.

However, a positive for Shiba Inu is that the long/short is at 1.0838, which indicates that more traders are currently long than short. This could spark a massive rebound when the market stabilizes. The crypto market is currently experiencing significant volatility ahead of Jerome Powell’s speech at the Jackson Hole Symposium on August 22. Investors await to see whether the Fed Chair will take a hawkish or dovish stance, with rate cuts in focus.

SHIB Burns Skyrocket 2,196%

Shibburn data shows that Shiba Inu’s burns have skyrocketed 2196% in the last 24 hours, with 1.6 million SHIB burned during this period. However, the burns are down over 28% in the last seven days, with about 72 million tokens burned this period. Increase in burns is typically bullish for the meme coin, since it could spark a supply shock as demand increases.

The 24-hour increase in Shiba Inu’s burns follows the SHIB Chainlink integration, which enables token burns to occur across multiple networks. Amid these developments, crypto analysts like Javon Marks remain bullish on SHIB’s trajectory. The analyst earlier this month predicted that the top meme coin could rally over 150% to reach $0.000032, which may just be the start of a larger reversal.

At the time of writing, the Shiba Inu price is trading at around $0.00001226, down over 2% in the last 24 hours, according to data from CoinMarketCap.

Working Hard Or Hardly Working: Why Do We Play Job Simulators?

by admin August 20, 2025

A cursory Google search of the term “job simulator” would show the 2016 VR game Job Simulator as the top result. But it is not representative of the plethora of simulation games answering the question: Can a job be fun?

From Microsoft Flight Simulator to Overcooked, the workplace has been a subject by game developers for a long time. Yet in the last few years, there has been a considerable explosion in their exposure. Likely in part from marketing strategies using Tiktok or Twitch, it has become common to find content creators role-playing as cashiers or managers, further drawing intrigue as to how these non-traditional games have garnered such popularity.

PowerWash Simulator surprised many (myself included) when its zen-focused cleaning mechanics soared in sales and popularity. Lead designer Nick McCarthy told me via email, though, that while satisfying cleaning is central to the game’s identity as a type of “anti-first person shooter,” the team did consider adding business-focused elements.

“Early on during development, we had explored more in-depth business management mechanics. But as the washing mechanics came together, we realised just how satisfying it was to clean stuff,” McCarthy said. “It became clear that PowerWash Simulator was best expressed as a zen, satisfying, no-frills experience that allowed players to just remain focused on the washing, without any of the stress and obligations accompanied with keeping a business running.”

To McCarthy’s point, finding the fun is in analyzing the workload and figuring out how to efficiently complete the job. This comes as a slight relief for those wanting to unwind and gradually work towards a completion state. With no concerns about logistics–such as buying or maintaining equipment, finding clients, and expanding your business–nor needing to earn a profit, the primary incentive of play is to finish a job as efficiently as possible.

“I’ve seen some hilarious examples of streamers/YouTubers playing together–some engaging in the chaos of blasting each other with the pressure washers, and/or leaving messages and artworks in the dirt and waiting for others to find [them],” McCarthy said. “Others use it as a wholesome means to just connect, chat, and chill out together. It’s also been great to see our community engage with each other to help finish jobs. Some of our jobs are quite large and can take many hours to finish, so understandably, a player will occasionally put the call out on Reddit or the PWS Discord, asking for someone to come help. It’s both heartwarming and amusing to imagine that a shared desire to destroy all visible dirt and grime could help to forge some friendships out there.”

Though it might not be surprising, a recent survey from the Pew Research Center found that about half of Americans find their jobs satisfying. A job for most is a means to an end, so long as they make enough to have a life for themselves, satisfaction is a secondary priority. However, just over 67% say they are extremely satisfied with their co-workers. What that 67% tells us is to make a job bearable is whatever camaraderie that can be mustered despite work’s soul-crushing element. Thus one explanation as to why simulation games are so appealing; you don’t have to work, you can play this for your discrete satisfaction.

PowerWash Simulator falls in the distinguished section of comfortable games that don’t cause too much stress. However, Drug Dealer Simulator 2 (yes, they made two) is as much a game about selling narcotics as it is managing time and expanding a business. When I asked lead developer Rafal Pęcherzewski how he feels about job simulators, he wrote back to me with pragmatism.

“If we boil down what makes them stand out as a medium, video games are basically different types of puzzles and challenges,” Pęcherzewski said. “Some are intellectually challenging; some are skill-based, challenging our reflexes and ability to adapt, learn, and react. Most jobs in the real world could be characterized in a similar manner–tasks, challenges, solving problems, and providing different kinds of activities. Job simulation games are only the area where we draw the arbitrary line to separate them from the rest [of games].”

Simulation games are in the unique position to tailor player experiences to whatever job or scenario they are interested in simulating. There are as many games that can be made as there are real-life occupations that can be adapted into a game: airplane pilot, drug dealer, chef, cashier, document inspector, mortician, zookeeper… the list is endless. Furthermore, there are the different levels of complexity a developer can work with.

For example, farming as an occupation requires dozens of hands, so games have taken to adapting farming through a range of styles. Where Farmville is primarily concerned with agriculture management and social media interactions, Farming Simulator strives to depict a vivid representation of farming, from equipment procedures to simulating a fluctuating economy. Ranch Simulator simplifies farming techniques but requires active care of animals and vegetation. Even in games that aren’t simulators, such as Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon, players can live out a cozy farming lifestyle apropos to Animal Crossing.

A growing number of publishers have started specializing in simulation games, like Astragon Entertainment, Excalibur Games, Movie Games, and PlayWay. Their catalogs are wide and highly specific in what they simulate, but they are evidence of a demand for niche job simulators and the effect they have on those who play them.

After exchanging emails with Yvonne Lukanowski of Astragon, it began to dawn on me the certain escapism found when diving into the simulation. Yet, I was surprised to learn that many who play simulation games gravitate towards the ones that simulate their real-life jobs.

“People are drawn to simulation games for several reasons,” Lukanowski said. “Many of our players work in the professions we simulate, such as firefighters, bus drivers, construction workers, and police officers. They enjoy performing familiar tasks and exploring aspects of their jobs that they might not experience daily, like using different vehicles or handling varied scenarios. Fans of action, competitive, or RPG games occasionally play simulation games to relax and clear their minds. The slower pace and methodical gameplay provide a refreshing break from more intense genres, making simulation games appealing to a broad audience.”

Some of the most fascinating games, however, are the ones that don’t seem exciting in nature. Though Grocery Store Simulator and Police Simulator might seem vastly different from one another, they are tangentially related in that they can be as thrilling as one would like. The former could be a roleplay experiment in which players can test how expensive a can of soup can be before NPCs will refuse to buy it, while the latter can mimic mundane work’s ability to drive an obsession over counting down minutes until a shift’s end.

But just because these are monotonous activities doesn’t mean they aren’t fun. “From my experience, ‘boring’ is a very subjective thing to define,” Pęcherzewski continues. “I know people who call Tarantino movies boring, dull, and ‘talked through,’ which I strongly disagree with, but I understand where they’re coming from. People find very different kinds of tasks engaging and others frustrating or boring. We have people who love to spend 12 hours straight fishing on a peaceful lake, others parachute jumping, and [others] all the way in between. Additionally, some people have lives filled with thrilling, problem-solving, [and] complex or challenging tasks, and chilling around a garden, doing some satisfying but repetitive tasks and earning a few points, it’s what they are looking for as a refuge after a hard and stressful day. Games are simply a simulated way of spending time and people will seek all sorts of emotions and experiences in their realm.”

Having a job, as the name implies, is work, and sometimes that work scratches a perfect itch to be organized and demonstrate power. And yet, various socioeconomic realities can impede any fun factors or meaningful personal expression. The surging middle market for job simulation games makes sense when contextualized against the anxious fixation people have regarding labor. Developers, publishers, players, and even critics are worrying if a viable future is still in reach on the route we are headed. Job simulation games are proof of that.

Google's Big Leap Forward for Real-Time Translations Is Deepfaking Your Voice

Google’s Big Leap Forward for Real-Time Translations Is Deepfaking Your Voice

by admin August 20, 2025

I can’t count the number of times I’ve been promised the Next Big Thing in app-enabled translation. Since the dawn of Google Translate, it’s felt like tech companies (not just Google, but Samsung and Apple, too) have been teasing a future where speech can be translated instantaneously, allowing for near-seamless communication between people from *sarcastic SpongeBob voice* across the world. But the truth is, that future, however enticing on paper, hasn’t exactly panned out.

As incredible as apps have gotten at translating speech and text with a fairly high degree of accuracy, they haven’t quite risen to the speed and cadence of real-life conversations. Designing a translation tool that can keep pace with our mouths (like, actually talking) isn’t an easy feat. We talk fast, and we expect even faster responses, which makes live translation less of a marathon than a sprint, or I guess more accurately, a sprint that could be a marathon in length.

Given that long promise of snappy, useful, real-time translation, I’m conditioned to roll an eye or two when live translate enters into a keynote, which is exactly what I did during Google’s annual Pixel hardware event. This year, though, that eye roll might not be warranted. At its Made by Google keynote, Google showcased a feature that not only translates your speech in real time, but also deepfakes your actual voice (also in near real time) so that the person on the other end can hear you speaking in their native language. And yes, it works in the inverse, too. That’s right, just two deepfakes talking to each other; nothing to see here, folks.

And the extra wild part is Google was so confident in its new live translation feature that it offered up a live demo, which, I’m not going to lie… it kind of nailed? Gizmodo’s Senior Editor, Consumer Tech, Raymond Wong, captured the whole thing live at Google’s keynote. For your viewing pleasure, Jimmy Fallon’s voice deepfaked into Spanish:

Wow, Jimmy Fallon’s voice was translated—deepfaked—into Spanish on Pixel 10… and it worked fast and accurately. Even getting inflections correct. This is the quiet game-changing AI feature… translations pic.twitter.com/SAXeowCXpE

— Ray Wong (@raywongy) August 20, 2025

I was also watching along from home during this segment, and my partner, who’s Spanish-speaking and bilingual, confirmed that Google’s new AI translate feature seemed to ace the assignment, inflections and all. Don’t get me wrong, I still want to test those translation features for myself, but from the looks of it, Google is off to a pretty amazing start here.

Powering those translation abilities is Gemini Nano, a compact version of Google’s increasingly iterated-upon large language model and the Pixel 10’s Tensor G5 chip. Google says its Nano model and the translation feature are run on-device in this case, which means that nothing—including your calls—gets teleported to the cloud while you’re translating. That makes its new feature less icky, and I say “less” in this case because let’s be honest, this thing is still deepfaking your voice.

Truthfully, if Google’s new translation feature wasn’t happening on-device, I might be a little worried. As cool as it is, the thought of having a facsimile of your voice stored on a server somewhere is a bad one, given the fact that people use biometrics for all sorts of important digital security, banking included. And in a way, on-device or not, the feature is still creepy. Apparently we’re at the stage of instantaneous voice deepfakes. Just imagine what AI can do with a little bit of time and training.

But more than anything, I’m impressed by what Google showed off today, especially as someone who’s watched tech companies overpromise on translation features for years at this point. It’s still too early to declare that Google has hit the Holy Grail of real-time translation, but for once, I’m left thinking that the idea of seamless, phone-enabled translations has actually taken a major leap forward. So, consider my eye roll officially rescinded, Google.

We waited all these years for Hollow Knight: Silksong to reemerge and all we got was a teaser

by admin August 20, 2025

Hollow Knight: Silksong, the DLC-turned-sequel to one of the best indie metroidvanias, has been in limbo for what felt like a decade. Extended radio silence and a – seemingly unexpectedly-prolonged – development period has earned the sidescrolling action game something of an ethereal status.

Before almost every major games showcase, people would theorise that this or that one is the one that will finally, actually bring us an updated look, and maybe some sort of release target. Well, none of those panned out, until today.

Silksong’s segment lasted barely a minute. We didn’t get a new trailer, release date, or even a proper teaser. Instead, Keighley delibered a message on behalf of developer Team Cherry to let us all know the game is indeed coming out this year.

The real trailer – and presumably more news – will arrive in a YouTube premiere on the developer’s channel this Thursday, so at least we won’t be waiting too much longer.

We’ve kind of suspected for a while that Silksong’s return would be at this year’s gamescom. For it to show up on the Opening Night Live stage, of course, was more of an educated guess. Much like he managed to be the first to reveal Elden Ring’s gameplay to the world, Keighley is also responsible for today’s long-anticipated look at Silksong.

There were, of course, a few other clues that pointed towards the 2025 gamescom being the show to finally bring the game back into the limelight. A few weeks ago, it was confirmed to be playable on the show floor, which rarely happens without some sort of accompanying announcement or media blast.

It was also recently confirmed to be a launch title for Xbox and Asus’ ROG Xbox Ally X, and the handheld console is itself being unveiled at gamescom. So it all kind of made sense, which is great news for all the Hollow Knight fans who probably couldn’t take another sumer event block without Silksong making an appearance.

TRON Secures Native Integration With MetaMask: Strategic Move For Global Adoption

by admin August 20, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

TRON is stepping into the spotlight with a major integration that could expand its global reach. The official communication team announced today a strategic agreement with Consensys. This partnership will bring native TRON integration into MetaMask, the world’s leading self-custodial crypto wallet.

For the first time, MetaMask users will be able to interact directly with the TRON ecosystem, unlocking access to based assets and dApps without needing third-party tools or custom configurations. This is expected to provide a seamless cross-chain experience while making blockchain more accessible and user-friendly across the globe.

TRON already has a significant presence across Asia, South America, Africa, and Europe, and this integration with MetaMask positions the network for broader adoption by millions of users worldwide. For developers, this move could significantly boost exposure to TRON’s ecosystem, driving new dApp creation and cross-chain activity.

Beyond technology, the agreement represents a strategic step in blockchain adoption, highlighting TRON’s ambition to solidify its role as a global leader in decentralization. For users, it means smoother access, more opportunities, and stronger integration into the crypto economy.

Tron Expands Through MetaMask Integration and Corporate Adoption

Community Spokesperson at TRON, Sam Elfarra, highlighted the importance of this development in a press release, stating: “MetaMask’s extensive user base and established reputation make it a vital gateway to decentralized applications.”

From MetaMask’s perspective, this move is just as strategic. Angel Gonzalez-Capizzi, Director of Business Development at MetaMask, explained: “With TRON’s strong presence in Asia, this integration also helps us build bridges across regions and ecosystems, expanding access for MetaMask users around the world. Supporting networks like TRON is part of our broader mission to make MetaMask the most versatile and user-friendly gateway to Web3.”

This collaboration comes at a time of growing corporate interest in TRON. In June, SRM Entertainment announced it would rebrand as Tron Inc. and adopt a treasury strategy centered on TRX, with founder Justin Sun serving as an adviser. Such moves demonstrate how the network is expanding beyond just blockchain enthusiasts, entering mainstream corporate and institutional adoption.

With legal clarity in the US and increasing global adoption, the project is positioning itself as a serious player in Web3 infrastructure. The MetaMask integration, combined with corporate treasury strategies like SRM’s, reflects the growing confidence in its long-term role as a global financial and technological network.

TRX Consolidates With Strength

TRON (TRX) has shown a sustained uptrend, with the chart reflecting sustained bullish momentum over the past months. Currently, TRX is trading around $0.35, holding firmly above key moving averages that continue to trend upward. The 50-day SMA sits near $0.28, while the 100-day SMA is at $0.25, and the 200-day SMA at $0.19 — all significantly below current price levels, reinforcing a solid bullish structure.

TRX testing key demand level | Source: TRXUSDT chart on TradingView

Consistent higher highs and higher lows have supported this multi-month rally, a clear sign of market strength. TRX recently tested the $0.36–$0.37 zone but faced resistance, prompting a slight pullback. However, the retracement remains shallow, indicating buyers are still active and defending support zones effectively.

The volume profile shows steady inflows during rallies, signaling sustained investor interest. As long as TRX remains above $0.33–$0.34, the bullish structure is intact, with potential to retest the $0.40 level in the short term. A breakout above this resistance could open the path toward $0.45, aligning with the next liquidity cluster.

Winklevoss Twins Heave $21M Toward Republicans in Next Year’s Congressional Battles

by admin August 20, 2025

Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss said they’re spending $21 million to continue the crypto policy momentum led by Republican lawmakers, countering a wider industry effort that’s carefully supporting politicians from both major parties.

The U.S. congressional midterm elections are approaching next year, and they promise an intense political clash that could leave President Donald Trump without the Republican control of Congress that’s helped him push crypto policy past the finish line. The brothers are giving to the Digital Freedom Fund political action committee to support GOP candidates, they said on Wednesday.

The contribution made in bitcoin

“will identify and support champions of President Trump’s crypto agenda in primary races and the midterm elections,” Tyler Winklevoss said in a post on social media site X. If Democrats prevail in the midterms, as opposition parties often do in the middle of a presidential term, Winklevoss said they’ll get in the way of the Trump agenda.

“We know from their past behavior that they will resort to whatever bad faith tactics and tricks they can think of (e.g., bogus impeachments, lawfare, etc.) to try to derail the President,” he wrote.

The brothers who run the Gemini crypto exchange and have become a fixture at White House crypto events and have been publicly praised by Trump, but their endorsement of Republicans runs afoul of the industry’s wider insistence that crypto policy is bipartisan and that politicians from both parties should be supported as long as they favor the sector.

In last year’s consequential congressional elections, the crypto industry erected an unprecedented tower of campaign cash in the Fairshake PAC and its affiliates, outspending other industries and even rivaling the big party-led PACs. The binge of campaign spending resulted in dozens of political victories that helped pad the industry’s level of support in the current Congress, which has moved rapidly to support digital assets initiatives — most notably the recently passed Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins (GENIUS) Act.

Sen. Tim Scott, a Republican who now chairs the Senate Banking Committee, thanked the industry for unseating former Sen. Sherrod Brown, the Ohio Democrat who previously ran the committee, on Tuesday at SALT Wyoming.

Fairshake, which has already amassed $141 million for the next congressional elections after a recent $25 million bump from Coinbase, has split its allegiances deliberately between the parties. The industry has long pushed the talking point that its aims are nonpartisan, and Fairshake’s affiliates sought to underline that position by supporting both Democrat and Republican candidates who are willing to champion crypto bills.

The super PAC favored by the Winklevoss brothers was formed last month, according to Federal Election Commission filings, and hasn’t yet disclosed its donor activity. It’s set up to spend money independently, meaning the campaigns it weighs into can’t have any direct involvement with the PAC’s spending decisions. That super PAC structure also lets it spend unlimited amounts, such as the tens of millions the industry expended in places like Ohio and California last year.

The Winklevosses are pursuing U.S. crypto market structure oversight that “avoids the pitfalls of overregulation, bloated licensing regimes, and increased red tape that only serves to choke off innovation, grow the Regulatory Industrial Complex, and empower the swamp,” Tyler wrote.

This marks a second recent development in which the men behind Gemini are going their own way from the bulk of their industry. Tyler Winklevoss stood up as a major critic of President Trump’s nominee to run the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Brian Quintenz. All of the leading crypto lobbying groups sent a letter to Trump on Wednesday in vigorous support of Quintenz, who used to be a policy executive at a16z.
