4 Explosive Cryptos ChatGPT Says Could Go Parabolic This Year

by admin August 21, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

If you’re tired of Wall Street analysts, mainstream investors, and major publications recycling the same 7-10 big-name cryptos as the ‘must-haves’ for your portfolio, maybe it’s time to spice things up and try a fresh approach – one powered by AI.

To put it to the test, we asked ChatGPT for its top picks for the next cryptos to explode.

And to our delight, the AI dug deep into social sentiment, online chatter across platforms like X and Reddit, and recent performance data from sources like CoinMarketCap to churn out a mix of utility-driven altcoins and pure community-backed meme coins.

Each of these has the potential to deliver returns strong enough to outshine the mainstream picks combined. That’s the true power of an altcoin season.

Keep reading to discover ChatGPT’s top altcoins to buy right now, including what they bring to the table, their past performance, and their explosive potential ahead.

1. Maxi Doge ($MAXI) – Dogecoin on Steroids, Built for 1000x Gains

Maxi Doge ($MAXI) is ChatGPT’s top pick for the best crypto to buy now, so right off the bat the AI is backing projects with low-cap, high-upside potential. Exactly the kind of explosive plays you want in this altcoin cycle.

Think of Maxi as Dogecoin on steroids. On paper, he looks a lot like Doge, but under the hood, he’s a different beast altogether. While Doge thrives on wholesome, cutesy vibes, Maxi flips the script. He’s the anti-Doge.

His aura is built around lifting heavy at the gym, chugging protein shakes and caffeine, and pulling all-nighters staring at charts hunting the next 1000x crypto. That’s what $MAXI represents: raw, unfiltered, wild degen energy.

The crypto community has rallied around Maxi’s mindset of never skipping leg day, never skipping a pump.

In their eyes, there’s no point chasing 5-10% gains when the real opportunity is in 1000x returns, i.e., if you’re bold and knowledgeable enough to take the bet.

So how does $MAXI plan to turn this vision into reality? By going viral. The roadmap is built around heavy marketing and community engagement.

$MAXI holders, for instance, gain access to exclusive weekly trading competitions, leaderboards, prizes, and events designed to drive demand and hype.

On top of that, a huge 40% of the token’s supply is reserved for PR events, paid campaigns, and influencer collaborations, all aimed at cementing $MAXI as a top trending crypto.

And the degen energy doesn’t stop there. The devs also plan to push Maxi onto major futures platforms, giving loyal $MAXI traders the perfect chance to crank up their leverage and shoot for sky-high gains.

Why chase safe plays when you can go 1000x long! That’s the $MAXI ethos: life is short, crypto is wild, and the only way forward is full throttle.

Currently in presale, Maxi Doge has already raised over $1.3M from early investors, with each token available at just $0.000253. Get in while it’s still under the radar!

For more information, check out $MAXI’s official website.

2. Snorter Token ($SNORT) – Leveling the Playing Field in Meme Coin Trading

Snorter Token ($SNORT) is one of the hottest new altcoins in presale, offering the perfect opportunity to ride the explosive growth of the meme coin market.

Over the past year, meme coins have surged, with market capitalization climbing more than 81% and trading volume skyrocketing 165%, proving that this segment is attracting fresh participants and spawning thousands of new tokens daily.

So how does Snorter plan to capture this momentum? By powering the Snorter Bot, a next-generation Telegram trading bot built to give retail traders the same edge as institutions.

Unlike other bots in the industry, Snorter Bot offers automated execution of buy/sell limit/stop orders, enabling retail participants to snipe liquidity in newly listed meme coins – something that was once nearly impossible because institutions dominated with advanced tools.

Even better, Snorter makes this power accessible to everyone. While beating institutional whales might sound complicated, Snorter keeps things simple.

Since it runs directly on Telegram, using it is as easy as sending a regular message. Place orders, monitor your crypto portfolio, or even copy trades from seasoned pros, all with straightforward chat commands.

And Snorter is just as secure as it is easy to use. The bot is designed with top-tier safeguards to protect you from on-chain threats like rug pulls, honeypots, and MEV (Maximal Extractable Value) attacks.

With Snorter, you can dive into the meme coin arena with confidence, knowing you won’t lose your funds to malicious actors.

Interested? Buy $SNORT, which, by the way, won’t just allow you to ride the bot’s growth but also unlock a bunch of exclusive perks, including:

  • No daily sniping limits
  • Lowest trading fees in the industry – just 0.85%
  • Advanced analytics
  • Staking rewards – currently yielding 135%

The best part? Since Snorter Token is currently in presale ($3.2M+ raised), you can grab it for an ultra-low price of $0.1019.

Visit $SNORT’s official website for more information.

3. Tutorial ($TUT) – AI-Powered Crypto Educator Turned Market Star

Launched in February this year, Tutorial ($TUT) has quickly become one of the steadiest performers in the altcoin market.

Since its debut, $TUT has surged over 23,300%, with most of that explosive growth credited to its massive rally in March.

As the name suggests, Tutorial isn’t just another meme or speculative token; it’s built with a mission to educate users on the fundamentals of cryptocurrency, blockchain, and especially the BNB Chain ecosystem.

At the heart of this project is the Tutorial Agent, an AI-powered educational tool designed to simplify complex crypto concepts, like trading on the best decentralized exchanges (DEXs), creating a crypto wallet, or writing smart contracts.

After two months of virtually no action, $TUT surged over 9% yesterday alongside a significant spike in trading volume.

This move could signal the end of its consolidation phase and the start of renewed upward momentum, fueled by growing participation in the broader crypto market.

4. Comedian ($BAN) – Chaos, Controversy, and a Fresh Breakout

If you’re looking for a proven performer that has just kicked off a new rally, Comedian, alongside Tutorial, is a fantastic choice.

The token recently broke out of a long-standing consolidation zone that had been in place since early May. Even better, it did so with a fat green candle, surging 34% in a single day.

Now, Comedian looks set to retest its recent all-time highs of around $0.20, which would mean another 130% upside from current levels.

So, what exactly is Comedian? At its core, it’s a hype-driven meme coin built on irony and social commentary. Its inspiration comes from the infamous modern art piece featuring a banana taped to a wall.

If you’ve been on the internet long enough, you might remember how this work sparked heated debates about whether modern art was genius or just plain ridiculous.

As a good community-driven meme coin, Comedian doesn’t take sides. Instead, it thrives on the chaos of internet culture, using controversy and conversation as fuel for massive investor gains.

And while that might sound nonsensical to a traditional Wall Street analyst, it’s exactly this raw, unpredictable momentum that meme coins use to rocket portfolios in today’s market.

Conclusion

When asked to ditch the obvious choices and pick a high-risk, high-reward portfolio, ChatGPT cut through the noise and spotlighted high-upside plays with return potential no top-of-the-shelf crypto guru list will ever give you.

That said, kindly keep in mind that none of the above is financial advice. The crypto market is highly volatile, so you must always do your own research before investing.

Bitcoin Options Traders Split Ahead of Fed’s Jackson Hole Meeting

by admin August 21, 2025

In brief

  • Options data indicates that Bitcoin traders are split, with nearly equal bullish and bearish block trades.
  • Experts suggest markets will be closely watching for Powell’s tone if there’s no clear decision surrounding rate cuts.
  • They also said crypto’s bullish market structure remains intact in the long term.

Bitcoin traders are entering a high-stakes standoff ahead of Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell’s highly anticipated speech at the Jackson Hole symposium on Friday.

With conflicting macroeconomic signals and mixed investor sentiment, the directional bias remains unclear for U.S. equities and crypto.

The July CPI report, delivered earlier this month, provided a bullish signal with rate cut hopes, prompting a crypto market rally that pushed Bitcoin to an all-time high in the first two weeks of August.

Subsequent PPI data release, however, has elevated inflation concerns, further aggravating ambiguity over whether the Fed intends to cut rates this year, including next month.

Bitcoin has dropped from 8% from its August 14 all-time high of around $124,128 to $114,170 following a sharp decline over the past seven days, CoinGecko data shows.

Despite Bitcoin being near record highs, “the market is pricing in roughly an 85% chance of a rate cut at the September FOMC meeting,” John Haar, managing director at Swan Bitcoin, told Decrypt.

“Powell is likely to keep his comments relatively neutral in order to keep his options open,” Harr added.

To cut or not to cut, that is Powell’s question

While bond traders remain adamant that a cut will arrive in September, the uncertainty has led to a split in investor expectations and betting in the derivatives market.

The “block bullish and bearish trades were nearly equal,” Adam Chu, Chief researcher at GreeksLive, an options trading platform, told Decypt.

Even with marked trading volume, “short-term implied volatility declined,” Adam said, indicating “institutional investors are not very optimistic that this meeting will bring about significant volatility.”

In any case, the market’s reaction hinges on Powell’s tone.

“It’s clear that many investors are hoping for a rate cut,” James Gernetzke, CFO at Exodus, told Decrypt.

Gernetzke believes that while a rate decision may not become clear until future data is released, investors should still “take note of his tone—this will matter just as much as the specifics.”

“Bitcoin and crypto assets are sensitive to global liquidity conditions and should respond favorably to any further signal the Fed will continue on its dovish path,” Gerry O’Shea, head of global market insights at Hashdex, told Decrypt.

A hawkish tone, however, could spark a renewed sell-off in equities and crypto.

But Gernetzke also offered a nuanced view, noting that this crypto market cycle is “atypical due to regulatory tailwinds” and institutional adoption, which “could soften the blow of a hawkish Powell.”

O’Shea echoed that sentiment, arguing that any negative near-term decision on rates wouldn’t impact the long-term investment case for crypto, supported by institutional adoption and favorable policy from the White House.

The government’s spending review: Citizen data and digital identity projects need high security by default

by admin August 21, 2025

The UK government’s spending review in June set out its plans to invest in Britain’s renewal: its security, health and economy.

Digital technologies featured heavily in the review with government pledging that it will provide “funding directly to departments to build strong digital and technology foundations, modernize public service delivery, and drive a major overhaul in government productivity and efficiency.”

One of the ways it has done this is by introducing a GOV.UK Wallet and a GOV.UK App, which aims to deliver more personalized customer experiences and verifiable digital credentials for citizens.

You may like

This is now available to the public in beta form. The government is also creating a new National Data Library to join up data across the public sector and a single patient NHS record, which is due to be available by 2028, so that every part of the health service has a full picture of a patient’s care.

However, if the UK is to realize the benefits of its digital ambitions, it must ensure the public can trust the systems underpinning them.

The pros and cons of centralizing data

Centralizing citizen data and digital identities has clear benefits. It enables more joined up services, reduces duplications allows for more seamless, personalized user experiences and could improve access and efficiency across the NHS and other public services.

For the NHS, for example, a single patient record could help doctors and specialists deliver better, more consistent care across the health service. For citizens interacting with government departments, a unified app and wallet could simplify administrative tasks and improve digital inclusion.

Sign up to the TechRadar Pro newsletter to get all the top news, opinion, features and guidance your business needs to succeed!

Technology Secretary Peter Kyle has said in recent interviews that, “People’s private data will not be shared outside of government.” However, despite the Technology Secretary’s assurances, this approach does come with significant risks. Centralized citizen data represents some of the most sensitive information any organization could hold. Health records, identity details and government interactions, combined in a single system, are a goldmine for cybercriminals.

And no doubt there will be some concerns from the public regarding its security – particularly in light of recent, very public, high profile cyber-attacks. Over the last 18 months, the UK has seen a series cyber attacks on both public and private sector organizations, including health authorities and councils, as well as the recent M&S and Qantas data breaches.

These incidents have highlighted the vulnerability of critical services and the real-world impact of compromised data, from patient safety to public confidence.

As these services become more integrated and reliant on shared data infrastructure, the risk of a breach also grows. A single point of access to multiple datasets can become a high-value target for threat actors. The more data an attacker can obtain from one place, the more appealing, and damaging, a breach can be.

A proactive approach to information security

With these very real threats, a proactive, systems-led approach to information security must be embedded from the outset.

The government needs to ensure that privacy by design and security by default is in every digital service developed. This means applying rigorous access controls, encryption, and secure development practices across every data touchpoint. That said, it is crucial that continuous monitoring for vulnerabilities and suspicious activities happens throughout the system lifecycle – and not just after deployment.

Similarly, the systems need to ensure that they comply with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act and other relevant standards.

These requirements must be seen not as a burden by the government but as the bedrock of responsible digital innovation.

Building a high-security posture

To meet these heightened security demands, following the guidance provided by internationally recognized security standards, such as ISO 27001, can be a logical place to start to get ahead of the increased risks to highly personal data this approach represents.

Standards such as ISO 27001 offer a structured, repeatable framework for managing risk, protecting information assets and demonstrating compliance. But it’s more than a tick-box exercise, it is a cultural shift in how risk is understood, communicated, and mitigated across every layer of an organization.

If the government embeds the principles of ISO 27001 into its delivery of these new services from the outset, rather than retrofitting them post-launch, it can design services that are both secure and scalable. It can ensure that it is identifying and evaluating new and emerging threats as digital services evolve.

It will also mitigate risks through policy, controls and continual improvement. But it will also be able to demonstrate accountability and transparency to the public – which is key.

Transparency is key to building public trust

Security isn’t just about systems, it is also about perception. The government’s digital strategy must be underpinned by public trust. Clear communication about how data is used, who has access, what safeguards are in place and what recourse citizens have in the event of a breach is essential.

Publishing high-level information security policies, adopting standards like ISO 27001 and engaging with the public on data protection issues will help foster the confidence needed to make digital services work.

Public sector leaders must ensure that information security is not treated as an afterthought. That means prioritizing risk management now – not waiting for a breach to expose the consequences of delay.

We list the best identity management solution.

Kanye West Launches YZY Token, Sparks Trend Across Crypto Industry

by admin August 21, 2025

Popular rapper Kanye West has launched a new memecoin called YZY earlier today and it has taken over the crypto industry by a storm. Deployed on Solana, YZY token is currently talk of the town with the rapper describing project as the start of a “new economy, built on chain.”

The launch drew swift attention from investors with YZY’s valuation climbing as high as $3.2 billion at its peak before cooling to around $1.3 billion. These sharp moves showed how quickly celebrity-backed tokens can rise and fall.

Building a New Economy with YZY Money

YZY token is positioned as the base of YZY Money project. Its ecosystem includes Ye Pay, a crypto payment service, and YZY Card, a global spending tool that works with both YZY and USD Coin. The project calls itself the start of “a new economy” built on-chain. It focuses on payments, commerce, and wider use of digital assets.

The token will be shared through public allocations and liquidity reserves. A portion is locked in long-term vesting under Yeezy Investments LLC to show commitment and transparency. Its vesting is carried out on-chain through Jupiter Lock, an audited protocol on Solana.

The launch also introduced an anti-sniping method, with the team deployed 25 contract addresses and picked one at random as the official YZY token. It was meant to block bots and give retail buyers a fair chance.

Suspicious Trading Movements on YZY Meme Coin

Analysts at Lookonchain highlighted wallets that seemed to know the real contract in advance. One wallet bought YZY before launch and later sold most of its holdings for a profit of more than $1.5 million, raising doubts about equal access.

YZY can be traded on Meteora on Solana. Early trading showed sharp price swings, underlining both excitement and risk. YZY shows how a celebrity launch can draw instant market attention. Its lasting value, however, will depend on Ye’s ability to deliver real payment and commerce tools beyond the early hype.

Xbox Reveals ROG Xbox Ally X Handheld Release Date But Not Price, Due To ‘Macro-Economic Conditions’

by admin August 21, 2025

We’re officially in the Gamescom cycle, which means a steady stream of previews, like our hands-on impressions of Hollow Knight: Silksong, and news tidbits. Xbox provided the latter today, announcing that its upcoming handheld line, the ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X, will hit store shelves on October 16, just two months from now.

However, while the release date is clear, we don’t yet know how much either product will cost. In a roundtable interview with IGN, Asus senior vice president Shawn Yen said, “I think we will have to… we need more time to figure the macro-economic impact to pricing, and that’s why we’ll be sharing more later, in September and October.” Because the prices aren’t yet live, neither are pre-orders.

The handheld is made in partnership with Asus, a company that has been producing the ROG Ally handheld for a few years now. The cheaper models currently retail for around $500 USD, so it’s likely that a partnership between Asus and Xbox would go for around that amount or higher.

Xbox’s release date announcement also detailed some of the handheld’s new features, including a handheld compatibility program, which helps to indicate which games are best suited for handheld play, similar to the Steam Deck’s verification program. On Xbox, games will either be “Handheld Optimized” or “Mostly Compatible,” with the latter requiring “minor in-game setting changes for an optimal experience on handheld.” There’s also a “Windows Performance Fit” rating to judge how well the game will run on your device.

Stay tuned to our Game Informer coverage to see our hands-on impressions with these devices. In the mean time, catch up on the coolest games we’ve played at Gamescom 2025, which we’ll be updating as the week continues.

What’s the best Wordle starting word?

Is Wordle getting harder?

Wordle is not getting harder!

There will always be the occasional day where the answer is the name of a body part, has a sneaky double vowel, or a word obscure enough to send everyone rushing off to a dictionary. But the daily answers, edited by Tracy Bennett, are still a good mix of common terms and tougher challenges.

Remember that if you’re craving more of a challenge, you can enable Hard Mode under the ⚙️ options menu. This option doesn’t make the words themselves harder, but it requires that “any revealed hints must be used in subsequent guesses.”

How did Wordle begin?

Wordle is the creation of Josh Wardle, and began life as a small personal project before its public release in 2021. From there it’s gone on to become a global phenomenon, attracting a dedicated daily audience, billions of plays, a whole host of competitors, and even a seven-figure sale to the New York Times where it’s become a mainstay of daily games alongside the crosswords and Connections.

All confirmed Black Ops 7 features

by admin August 21, 2025

The floodgates have opened on another new Call of Duty, and there’s a lot of new info to digest about it.

Black Ops 7 made its full debut during gamescom’s Opening Night Live, and it’s coming to consoles and PC players in just a few months. Offering a campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies modes, there’s plenty of tidbits of intel within each that players can now sink their teeth into in anticipation.

Here’s everything we’ve learned about BO7 so far, directly from Treyarch and Activision.

Black Ops 7 confirmed information – Everything we know

This is an exhaustive list of what we know so far to be true and confirmed about BO7. This list will grow over time leading up to the game’s launch later in 2025.

Multiplayer

  • Agility
    • Increased move speed and recovery time.
  • Gung Ho
  • Networked
    • Share buffs with teammates.

Combat Specialty

This feature from BO6 has been tweaked, as equipping two Perks of the same specialty can now offer a hybrid bonus with a third as opposed to having to equip three of the same to earn the bonus.

Overclocks

Every piece of equipment, Field Upgrade, and Scorestreak can be leveled up to unlock modifiers that increase their functionality. This is reminiscent of Pro Perks from past CoD games, but for equipment.

Weapon Prestige

Weapon Prestige returns. Once a gun is max level, you can Prestige to reset its rank to unlock a unique attachment and camo. This can be done twice before reaching Master Prestige on the gun, with 250 additional levels and a unique camo to unlock.

Specialist Wildcard

The Specialist bonus will be a Wildcard you can equip in your loadout in BO7. This means you can earn a new Perk at 200, 400, and 600 score, with all Perks unlocking at 1,200 total score streak.

Campaign

Image via Activision

Co-op is back

The entire campaign can be played in co-op for up to four players. You play as Specter One unit soldiers David Mason, Mike Harper, Eric Samuels, and Leilani Tupuola. BO6 character Troy Marshall also appears in a scene with Mason as they visit the grave of Frank Woods. The campaign takes place in 2035 and the main antagonist appears to be The Guild, a company utilizing AI and robots to do its dirty work.

A trippy story

In the footage shown, David Mason and his Specter One team are attacked with some kind of hallucinogenic gas, which makes them see things like massive machetes falling from the sky, twisted architecture, and more.

Treyarch described the campaign as having “surreal dreamscapes,” where you have to deal with “a weapon that turns fear into a tool of war” that will leave the characters “trapped in paranoia.”

Menendez lives?

Raul Menendez appears to be alive somehow, even after David Mason killed him in the canon ending of BO2. Something is up, and the team heads to Avalon to figure things out at the start of the story.

New Endgame feature

The 12th and final mission of the campaign is a 32-player map of Avalon with “endless sessions,” called Endgame. Players can rank up their operators and level up until they can reach high tier difficulty areas, but progression is reset upon dying.

Little else is known about this mission and feature thus far, but it can be played in co-op and tasks players with leveling up and equipping new abilities to help defeat the enemies within as they delve deeper into Avalon to find out the truth.

Campaign Camos and XP

The campaign and Endgame will feature their own set of camos, including four Mastery camos, and XP that can be earned no matter what you play, so that you are always leveling up your account or battle pass no matter what.

Zombies

Image via Activision

New round-based map

The new map for BO7 Zombies is “the biggest round-based map ever.” It features a Wonder Vehicle that players must construct to drive between locations on the map. The only location revealed thus far is called Farm.

OG crew returns

Richtofen, Dempsey, Nicholai, and Takeo return in the Dark Aether. Treyarch said that this is a “new iteration” of the original crew.

Survival maps coming

Each section of the larger RBZ map will be turned into Survival maps, which are smaller, self-contained areas of the map that players can jump into and play with all Perks and necessary items present instead of having to experience the overarching map.

Dead Ops Arcade returns

The top-down, twin-stick shooter arcade mode will return in its fourth iteration.

Warzone

Image via Activision

Nothing has been confirmed for Warzone yet. Info about the battle royale mode will likely come later this year at Call of Duty Next before BO7 launches. However, given past years, it’s probable that Warzone will get BO7 guns, movement, and equipment as part of an update in season one.

This article will be updated with new information as it becomes available.

by admin August 21, 2025

SEC Chairman Paul Atkins recently clarified that only a very small number of cryptocurrencies qualify as securities.

Summary

  • SEC Chairman Paul Atkins has clarified that only a very small number of cryptocurrencies qualify as securities.
  • The approach marks a significant shift from former Chair Gary Gensler’s stricter stance and anti-industry policies.

During his speech at the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium 2025, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Paul Atkins commented on the classification of cryptocurrencies, saying most tokens are not securities.

According to him, whether a cryptocurrency is considered a security depends on how it is “packaged and sold,” rather than its inherent characteristics.

“Just the token itself is not necessarily a security, and probably not,” he said, “There are very few, in my view, tokens that are securities, but it depends on what’s the package around it and how that’s being sold.”

Atkins’ remarks represent a significant shift from the approach adopted by former SEC Chair Gary Gensler, who classified the majority of crypto assets under U.S. securities law. Gensler’s stance led to widespread enforcement actions against the industry, creating a hostile regulatory environment.

Since his appointment in April, Atkins has consistently stressed that the industry deserves regulatory clarity, adopting a more welcoming and non-hostile approach to regulations. His latest remarks also build on broader positive regulatory developments in recent months, including the formation of a new pro-industry initiative called “Project Crypto.”

What is Project Crypto?

Earlier in July, Atkins announced the launch of ‘Project Crypto’ by the SEC. The project aims to create clear rules for crypto distributions, custody, and trading, providing businesses with guidance on token offerings and overall operations.

While final regulations are still being developed, Atkins said the SEC would consider using interpretative, exemptive, and other authorities to ensure that outdated rules do not stifle innovation.

The efforts come as the Trump administration continues to push to maintain the United States’ dominance in global digital asset markets, with a separate Working Group on Digital Assets also calling for a unified framework that promotes innovation. The U.S. House also recently passed three landmark bills relating to the industry, including the GENIUS Act, the first official federal framework for stablecoins.

Atkins added recently that the SEC is also focused on protecting the industry from future challenges such as regulatory overreach or unfair enforcement, highlighting the need for rules that are clear, adaptable, and capable of supporting innovation over the long term.

“We must craft a framework that future proofs the crypto markets against regulatory mischief. I look forward to working with my counterparts across the Administration and Congress to get the job done,” he wrote.

18 protesters arrested: Microsoft claims ‘vandalism and property damage,’ protesters claim ‘genocide powered by Microsoft technology’

by admin August 21, 2025

After police dispersed them on Tuesday, “No Azure for Apartheid” protestors returned to Microsoft’s East Campus Plaza in Redmond, Washington on Wednesday to continue protesting the tech giant’s dealings with Israel, which allegedly include the use of its Azure cloud platform to surveil Palestinians and select Gaza bombing targets.

This time, 18 protesters were arrested for charges including “trespassing, malicious mischief, resisting arrest, and obstruction.”

According to Redmond police, “a few protesters had poured paint over the Microsoft sign and on the ground” (red paint to symbolize blood) and “others had blocked a pedestrian bridge and were using stolen tables and chairs from vendors to form a barrier.”

In a statement sent to PC Gamer, protest organizers said that “Microsoft chose to militarize its campus to harass, attack and violently arrest 18 people who refused to be cogs in the Israeli genocidal machine.”

A Microsoft spokesperson told PC Gamer that protestors “engaged in vandalism and property damage” and “disrupted, harassed, and took tables and tents from local small businesses at a lunchtime farmer’s market for employees.”

Israel’s attacks on Gaza, allegedly with the help of Microsoft’s services, have killed at least 62,000 people since October 2023, including thousands of children, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. Over 200 people have now died of malnutrition, the ministry says, and according to the UN, over 1,000 aid seekers in Gaza have been killed since May. Israel has also killed hundreds of aid workers, at one point burying 15 in a mass grave, the UN reports, and recently killed six journalists in Gaza, the latest of many.

“As we have made clear, Microsoft is committed to its human rights standards and contractual terms of service, including in the Middle East,” said Microsoft’s spokesperson. “The company announced last week that it is pursuing a thorough and independent review of new allegations first reported earlier this month about the purported use of its Azure platform in Israel.”

Those allegations appeared in an investigation by The Guardian, which claimed that Israel has used Azure to construct “a sweeping and intrusive system that collects and stores recordings of millions of mobile phone calls made each day by Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank” and which “facilitated the preparation of deadly airstrikes and has shaped military operations in Gaza and the West Bank.”

The protestors, composed of “community members and current and former Microsoft workers,” declared Microsoft’s East Campus Plaza a “Liberated Zone,” renaming it the “Martyred Palestinian Children’s Plaza.”

“As we recognize the sacrifice made by those arrested today, we also recognize that the militarism, physical violence and detentions perpetrated by the Redmond Police Department pale in comparison to the experiences Palestinians are forced to endure on a daily basis,” said No Azure for Apartheid in its statement.

Microsoft says it’s doing “the hard work needed to uphold its human rights standards in the Middle East” as well as “supporting and taking clear steps to address unlawful actions that damage property, disrupt business or that threaten and harm others.”

No injuries were reported as a result of the protest or arrests, according to police.

“Our message to [Microsoft CEO] Satya Nadella and other executives who are shamelessly shaking hands with Israeli war criminals to sign deals for genocidal technology is this: our movement will not stop, we will not rest, and we will continue to apply pressure,” say the protesters, who have published their demands at noazureforapartheid.com. “We will show up to confront, disrupt, and take action in every place, at every moment, both announced and unannounced. Escalations will continue as long as Microsoft is invested in the economy of occupation and genocide.”
