AI Just Helped Make Old Cells Young Again

by admin August 23, 2025

In brief

  • OpenAI built GPT-4b micro, a downsized model specialized for protein engineering, in collaboration with longevity startup Retro Biosciences.
  • The model designed new variants of the Yamanaka factors, proteins used to reprogram adult cells into stem cells, achieving 50-fold higher efficiency in lab tests.
  • Researchers say the results show how AI could accelerate life sciences and longevity research, though the work remains early and lab-based.

AI isn’t just cranking out code, images, and songs anymore. Now it can redesign the proteins inside your cells.

On a company blog post, OpenAI just announced that it collaborated with Retro Biosciences, a Silicon Valley longevity startup, to train a specialized model called GPT-4b micro. Unlike the chatbots you know, this model wasn’t fine-tuned for banter or brainstorming. Instead, it was trained on protein sequences, biological text, and 3D structure data so it could propose entirely new variants of proteins used in regenerative medicine.

The results were surprising: GPT-4b micro successfully re-engineered two of the famous Yamanaka factors—proteins that won a Nobel Prize for their ability to turn adult cells back into stem cells. Stem cells are special cells that can both self-renew (regenerate) and differentiate into many other cell types in the body. They’re important because they act as the body’s repair system and hold huge potential for treating diseases, regenerating tissues, and even reversing aspects of aging.

In the lab, the AI-designed versions showed 50-fold higher expression of stem cell markers and repaired DNA damage more effectively than the originals. In other words, they made old cells act younger, faster.

Why this matters

The Yamanaka factors are central to regenerative medicine, with potential to treat blindness, diabetes, organ failure, and more. But in practice, they’re inefficient—less than 0.1% of cells usually convert to stem cells, and the process can take weeks. By finding variants that dramatically boost efficiency, AI could accelerate cell reprogramming research by years, cutting down the trial-and-error of conventional biotech.

This could ripple outward:

  • Longevity startups could use AI-designed proteins to rejuvenate cells more safely and consistently.

  • Drug development timelines could shrink if models like GPT-4b micro become protein engineers on demand.

  • Synthetic biology might move past “what evolution gave us” and start exploring huge design spaces that were once impossible for humans to navigate.

But also: big caveats

The science is early, and OpenAI admits this is a proof-of-concept. Lab validation is one thing; moving into clinical therapies is another. Protein engineering is notorious for failing in translation from dish to organism, let alone into people.

There are also biosecurity worries—if AI can rapidly design powerful proteins, then that power cuts both ways. OpenAI’s answer is transparency: The work with Retro is being openly published so others can replicate and critique it.

For OpenAI, this isn’t just about one experiment; it’s about showing that language-model tooling can be redirected toward scientific discovery.

“When researchers bring deep domain insight to our models, problems that once took years can shift in days,” said Boris Power, who leads research partnerships at the company.

If that’s true, then AI won’t just change how we write or code—it could start changing what it means to age, heal, and stay alive.

NBA 2K26’s Highest-Rating Players Revealed, New MyGM And MyNBA Features Detailed

by admin August 23, 2025

NBA 2K26 is right around the corner, and as is often tradition for sports games before launch, developer Visual Concepts is continuing to share what’s new with this year’s entry. A couple of weeks ago, we learned about a host of presentation upgrades coming to NBA 2K26, and today, 2K released a new post detailing the changes arriving in MyGM and MyNBA, the series’ long-term franchise mode. On top of that, we learned who the top-rated players in this year’s game at the start of the season will be.

This year, GMs have a wider array of scenarios that can play out in the 2025 offseason. Once you pick a team, you can choose between three goals that are distinct to that team’s roster and history. The tasks can include picking draft picks, signing free agents, or leading your team to the NBA Finals. Some of the scenarios involve building around a number-one draft pick, while others force you to choose between trying to make one more run with your aging superstars or holding a fire sale and starting the rebuild process.

As you play through MyGM and MyNBA, your achievements will be chronicled through dynamic banners that accurately update based on when you win championships. The experience is also highly customizable, thanks to Unranked MyGM, which lets you edit players, use custom rosters, import custom draft classes, and adjust sliders however you want. With MyPlayer DNA integration, you can even bring your MyPlayer into your franchise experience regardless of your Era.

If you’re more on the managerial side, the simulation mechanics have received various improvements based on player feedback, including giving players greater control over strategic decisions. As GM, you also start each season by meeting with your team’s governor to set the budget, goals, and core directives for the upcoming season. These will shape how secure your job is, as well as influence top free agents’ decision-making processes. Updating your team facilities can also go a long way to attracting top talent, and you can allocate Facility Points to update team training and recovery facilities, luxury box amenities, and perform arena renovations. Budgets have also been updated to accurately reflect the budgets of specific eras of teams.

On top of these announcements, we also got a list of the top 10-rated players in NBA 2K26 at the season’s start.

  1. Nikola Jokić, Denver Nuggets – 98 OVR
  2. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder – 98 OVR
  3. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks – 97 OVR
  4. Luka Dončić, Los Angeles Lakers – 95 OVR
  5. Anthony Edwards, Minnesota Timberwolves – 95 OVR
  6. Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors – 94 OVR
  7. LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers – 94 OVR
  8. Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics – 94 OVR
  9. Victor Wembanyama, San Antonio Spurs – 94 OVR
  10. Kevin Durant, Houston Rockets – 93 OVR

NBA 2K26 arrives on September 4. To read our review of last year’s game, head here.

XYZVerse aims to become a top crypto presale in 2025

by admin August 23, 2025

Disclosure: This article does not represent investment advice. The content and materials featured on this page are for educational purposes only.

XRP rallies, PI Network grows on community power, while XYZVerse presale gains momentum as a 2025 breakout contender.

Summary

  • XRP rallies, Pi Network grows while XYZVerse presale draws strong community buzz.
  • XYZVerse fuses sports fandom with meme energy as it aims for 2025 breakout status.
  • Community power is driving XRP, Pi, and XYZVerse into the spotlight this cycle.

Crypto markets are once again proving that community strength can be just as powerful as technology or institutional backing. XRP has staged a major rally on renewed optimism around its ecosystem, while PI Network is gaining traction thanks to its massive grassroots user base.

Both cases highlight a familiar truth in crypto: when the crowd gets behind a project, momentum follows. Now, attention is shifting to XYZVerse (XYZ), a fast-rising presale that blends memecoin energy with sports fandom. With millions already raised and growing buzz across online communities, the question is whether XYZVerse has what it takes to join the ranks of 2025’s top breakout tokens.

Price outlook for XYZVerse: Could a 30x jump be on the horizon?

XYZVerse has entered the memecoin arena at a time when community-driven tokens dominate speculative trading. With altcoin season approaching, low-cap memecoins are attracting fresh liquidity, and XYZVerse is well-positioned to benefit.

Still in presale, the project combines sports culture with meme energy, giving it a unique edge in a crowded market. If it can secure strong exchange listings and maintain momentum after launch, XYZVerse could surprise investors with outsized performance.

Price prediction for XYZ

  • Current Presale Price: $0.0053
  • Projected Post-Presale Target: $0.10 (per project estimates)
  • Potential ATH (first 1–2 weeks): $0.15 – $0.25 (driven by FOMO + listings)
  • Long-Term (6–12 months): $0.20 – $0.40 (if partnerships and listings materialize)

Is the $0.10 target achievable for XYZ?

A 30x move from presale to $0.10 is within reach, but it depends on:

  • Major Exchange Listings – Launching on platforms like KuCoin, OKX, or Binance could drive explosive demand.
  • Sustained Community Growth – Memecoins thrive on viral momentum; sports influencer campaigns will be key here.
  • Market Tailwinds – In a bullish environment, speculation-driven assets like XYZVerse usually outperform.

If these conditions align, a 3000% surge from the current presale price could be achievable. Execution, however, remains the deciding factor.

XRP

Source: TradingView

XRP slipped 10.35% in the past week and is down 17.39% this month, now trading between 2.95 and 3.29. Despite short-term weakness, the token is still 14.08% higher over six months.

The 10-day average at 2.95 and the 100-day at 3.00 point to flat sentiment, with momentum indicators also neutral. A breakout above 3.29 could target 3.49, while failure to hold 2.95 risks a slide to 2.80. A clean move over 3.49 would open the door to 3.84 (+17%), but if 2.95 cracks, losses toward 2.46 (-17%) are possible.

Pi Network

Source: TradingView

Pi Network remains under pressure after losing 8.44% this week and nearly 20% in the past month. Over six months, the token is down 48.73%, reflecting a prolonged bear trend. Currently, PI trades in a tight range between 0.36 and 0.41.

The 10-day average (0.36) sits just under the 100-day (0.37), showing lingering downside pressure. Yet RSI at 62.62 and stochastic at 81.34 hint at short-term demand. Resistance lies at 0.43 and 0.48, with support at 0.34 and 0.29. Clearing 0.43 could spark a 15% rally to 0.50, while failing to do so risks another 20% slide back toward 0.29.

XRP vs. Pi Network vs. XYZVerse

TokenCurrent Price RangeRecent PerformanceShort-Term OutlookLong-Term PotentialKey DriversXRP2.95 – 3.29-10.35% (7D), -17.39% (1M), +14.08% (6M)Neutral; must break above 3.29 for momentumPotential recovery if volume buildsCommunity + ecosystem resiliencePi Network (PI)0.36 – 0.41-8.44% (7D), -19.72% (1M), -48.73% (6M)Mixed; RSI & stochastic show demand, but downtrend intactCountertrend rallies possible, but high riskMassive user base, speculative upsideXYZVerse (XYZ)Presale: $0.005Early stage; $15M+ raised in presaleStrong buzz from sports/meme angleTargeting $0.10 at listing (30x), potential $0.20–$0.40 in 6–12MSports branding, deflationary supply, exchange listings

Conclusion

Community momentum is clearly at play: XRP remains resilient despite selling pressure, Pi Network is showing signs of a rebound, and XYZVerse is capturing attention as one of the most promising memecoin presales of 2025. By fusing sports culture with meme energy and leveraging deflationary tokenomics, XYZVerse could deliver major returns if it sustains its early buzz and secures strong listings in the upcoming bull market.

‘New Dawn’: Ripple CEO Reacts to Fed Governors Embracing Crypto

by admin August 23, 2025

  • Fed governors embracing crypto
  • “New dawn” for Ripple

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has commented on how rapidly attitudes toward crypto have changed over the past year, describing such a drastic shift as “a new dawn.”

Garlinghouse claims that discussions at this year’s SALT 2025 investment conference feel very dramatically different, with regulators and policymakers being more open to the nascent asset class.

While many attendees at SALT have been in crypto for a long time, the change in tone (on-stage, 1-1 convos) from even a year ago is dramatic and very palpable.
I don’t think many of us had “multiple Fed governors publicly embracing crypto technology” on our bingo cards…a new… https://t.co/5dwLNZKdIe

— Brad Garlinghouse (@bgarlinghouse) August 22, 2025

Fed governors embracing crypto

The Ripple boss has noted that even Federal Reserve governors are now embracing crypto, which is a very surprising development for him personally.

Governor Michelle Bowman, for instance, has argued that regulators should abandon their overly cautious mindset toward digital assets.

Instead, they should opt for a proactive approach that would make it possible to foster innovation.

As reported by U.Today, the Fed recently ditched its cryptocurrency-focused supervision program, which is another step toward legitimizing cryptocurrencies.

Governor Christopher Waller also insisted that such innovative technologies as tokenization and smart contracts are not, in fact, scary.

“New dawn” for Ripple

It is also a new dawn for Ripple in particular, considering that the legal battle between the enterprise blockchain company and the SEC is finally over.

As reported by U.Today, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit put a definitive end to the case earlier today.

The Trump-Intel Deal Is Official

The Trump-Intel Deal Is Official

by admin August 23, 2025

The United States government is making an $8.9 billion investment in Intel, representing a 9.9 percent stake in the company, according to a press release the company published on Friday.

The investment will be funded by $5.7 billion in grants Intel was awarded under the 2022 CHIPS Act and $3.2 billion the company was awarded as part of the Secure Enclave program, the press release says.

The news comes shortly after President Trump touted the deal in a White House press conference with reporters. “I said, ‘I think you should pay us 10 percent of your company.’ And they said yes—that’s about $10 billion,” Trump said. “And I think it’s a great deal for them.”

Trump added that Intel’s CEO, Lip-Bu Tan, “walked in wanting to keep his job” and “ended up giving us $10 billion for the United States.” He was seemingly referring to a situation earlier this month where he called for Tan’s resignation due to the CEO’s reported financial ties to China. Trump later softened his stance after meeting with Tan in Washington.

Both Trump and US commerce secretary Howard Lutnick have said the deal is meant to revitalize the struggling chip giant and bring more chipmaking back to the United States. The move is part of a broader strategy to lessen the country’s reliance on China.

Brian Quinn, a professor at Boston College Law School, says it’s confounding that the government has negotiated for common stock in Intel, as opposed to preferred stock.

“It strikes me as a colossal waste of time,” he said. “The government said that it wanted to ensure that taxpayers get something back from this, but it’s unclear how this investment will do that. If it was preferred shares, it could have included mandatory dividends and ensured that the government gets paid back.”

While public-sector/private-sector partnerships are not entirely uncommon in the US, legal experts say this type of government intervention is unusual.

“The reason the government injected capital into the auto industry and insurers [post-2008] was to get them through the crisis,” says Timothy Meyer, a professor in international business law at Duke University. “This is not a broader financial crisis situation. This is a company that dramatically needs to boost its market share.”

Meyer added that he’s interested to see “to what extent the US government will use its leverage across the tech industry to shift purchase orders to Intel.”

When asked for comment, the White House referred WIRED to President Trump’s Truth Social account. “The United States paid nothing for these Shares, and the Shares are now valued at approximately $11 Billion Dollars. This is a great Deal for America and, also, a great Deal for INTEL,” Trump posted. “Building leading edge Semiconductors and Chips, which is what INTEL does, is fundamental to the future of our Nation. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

Pepe’s Dog memecoin lands KuCoin listing after securing official Furieverse IP

This memecoin is making moves in the current crypto cycle

by admin August 23, 2025

Disclosure: This article does not represent investment advice. The content and materials featured on this page are for educational purposes only.

After DOGE’s 53,000% run, Little Pepe at $0.0020 eyes massive gains, sparking 2025 memecoin hype.

Summary

  • Little Pepe presale nears sellout at $20.5m with 24,000% upside projections drawing Dogecoin comparisons.
  • Early LILPEPE investors doubled gains and launch promises 50% upside before exchange debut.
  • Stage 11 of Little Pepe is 94% filled; momentum grows as price climbs toward Stage 12 increase.

Dogecoin’s rise was more than a market move; it was a cultural moment. DOGE went wild, delivering over 53,000% gains as it climbed to $0.74.

Now, in 2025, a new contender is stepping into that spotlight. Little Pepe (LILPEPE) is building its hype cycle, and with analysts projecting potential gains of up to 24,000% from its current price of $0.0020, it is looking like history could repeat itself, just with a different mascot.

From Dogecoin’s 2021 highs to LILPEPE’s 2025 moment

The soaring success of Dogecoin in 2021 came as no surprise, as the community energy indeed gave ample support to the viral asset. Fast forward to today, the same ingredients, community buzz, social media dominance, and growing investor interest are swirling around LILPEPE.  The difference is that Little Pepe isn’t just running on hype; it is coming into the scene with stronger fundamentals, modern blockchain tech, and a well-structured presale catching fire.

Why Little Pepe is surging right now

The Little Pepe presale is already deep into Stage 11 after selling out Stage 10 ahead of schedule. Tokens are priced at $0.0020, a 10% jump from the previous stage’s $0.0019.

Early investors who joined in Stage 1 have already doubled their money, seeing gains of 100%. There’s a clear upside even for those jumping in now; holding until the planned launch price of $0.0030 offers a potential 50% gain before the token even hits exchanges.

Stage 11 is 93.74% filled at the time of writing, with 13,357,746,538 tokens sold and $20,540,495 raised out of the $22,325,000 target. Once this stage wraps, the price will climb to $0.0021 in Stage 12. With 20 stages total, each price increase rewards those who moved early, and momentum has been building with every round.

Security, visibility, and community power

One of the key reasons investors are taking LILPEPE seriously is that it has already been audited by CertiK, scoring 95.49%, an unusually high mark for a memecoin. That’s a significant trust signal in a market where many projects skip proper security checks.

On top of that, LILPEPE is already listed on CoinMarketCap, giving it the kind of early visibility that can accelerate growth once trading begins. The community element is just as strong. LILPEPE recently peaked higher than PEPE, Dogecoin, and Shiba Inu in ChatGPT-5’s memecoin question volume trend between June and August 2025, which means people aren’t just noticing it, they’re talking about it more than the biggest names in the space.

And to fuel that energy, the team is running a $777,000 giveaway, where ten winners will each take home $77,000 worth of LILPEPE.

Could this be the next Dogecoin moment?

In 2021, Dogecoin delivered unbelievable returns, climbing thousands of percent in just months. Analysts now see LILPEPE capable of a similar run, with projections suggesting up to 24,000% gains from its current price.

That may sound ambitious, but the parallels are hard to ignore when combined with presale velocity, exchange visibility, security audits, and a surging online presence. Stage 11 investors still have a chance to lock in a presale price before the next 10% jump. Given how quickly earlier stages sold out, the window could close faster than people expect.

Final thoughts

In 2025, Little Pepe is stepping into that same lane with a stronger foundation, audited security, and an investor-friendly presale model. With its current price at $0.0020, a nearly sold-out Stage 11, a projected 50% gain before launch, and the possibility of 24,000% returns down the line, it’s hard not to feel the same excitement that Dogecoin once brought. The presale isn’t just a fundraising stage; it’s the on-ramp to what could be one of the most talked-about memecoins of the cycle. For those who missed the Dogecoin wave, this might be a second chance to ride something that starts small, feels fun, but has the potential to turn into something unforgettable.

Surprise! Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’s secret mode was developed by the studio behind Bayonetta

by admin August 23, 2025

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has brought back the secret Guy Savage mode within the remake. But it turns out this mode wasn’t made by Konami alone – Platinum Games (Bayonetta, Astral Chain) is responsible for the surprise action minigame.

The Guy Savage mode can be played by saving the game and exiting to the menu directly after the torture scene deep into the game. When you re-launch the game, the Guy Savage minigame will start. Alternatively, beat the game and the minigame will be accessible.

Guy Savage was originally based on a cancelled prototype for Zone of the Enders 3 / Anubis 2 which was snuck into the original Metal Gear Solid 3. In Delta, every little Easter egg and trick has been recreated. The same goes for minigames, with Snake vs Monkey coming back (with a surprise appearance from Astro Bot).

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is an incredibly faithful recreation of the original game. Eurogamer’s review states: “Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is faithful, it’s a church dedicated to one of gaming’s best stealth games. Updates to how the game plays are subtle, and in regard to the new gameplay style, totally optional. So much is left untouched, and that’s for the best. Add in some original art, some obscure modes, and let her loose.”

This is a news-in-brief story. This is part of our vision to bring you all the big news as part of a daily live report.

Abxylute will sell an absurd 3D handheld from Intel and Tencent Games for “under $1,700”

by admin August 23, 2025

As the handheld PC boom has taken off, companies have tried to push the boundaries of the Steam Deck form factor Valve helped popularize. Lenovo tried detachable controllers. Acer is trying an 11-inch screen. And Abxylute is apparently combining them both (and then some) into the Abxylute 3D One, which The Verge reports features an 11-inch, glasses-free 3D display and detachable controllers, all for “under $1,700.”

The Abxylute 3D One is based on a hardware prototype co-developed by Intel and Tencent that the companies demoed at CES 2025. The prototype, dubbed the “Sunday Dragon 3D One,” featured a display that used eye-tracking to achieve its 3D effect. The version Abxylute is selling seems to be offering more or less the same features, with an Intel Lunar Lake chip, 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM, an 120Hz display and a built-in kickstand.

The Abxylute 3D One’s controllers can detach like Joy-Cons, which leaves it looking like a chunky Surface Pro.

(Abxylute)

“Abxylute claims the product’s specifically optimized to deliver 3D for 50 of the top Steam games,” The Verge writes, though it can also be used for more than gaming if you’re desperate. The Abxylute 3D One will include software for converting 2D photos and video to 3D, and a detachable keyboard accessory complete with a trackpad.

No part of what Abxylute is offering here seems particularly practical, but if you like 3D and are into the company’s maximalist approach, you could be getting a deal. Acer’s 11-inch handheld, the Acer Nitro Blaze 11, starts at $1,100. A 3D laptop like the ASUS ProArt Studiobook 16 starts at $2,000. The Abxylute 3D One could approximate the features of both for a fairly reasonable price in the middle.

That might not make up for the fact that it seems too heavy to hold for more than 30 minutes at a time, but you can put that to the test yourself when the Abxylute 3D One goes on sale in “late September or early October.”
