Memecoin Frenzy: Hackers Hijack Adele, Future, Other Celebrities Instagram Account To Push Dubious FREEBANDZ Token

by admin August 23, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

In a rather shocking development, hackers took over the Instagram accounts of some music celebrities to promote a fraudulent Solana-based memecoin. This incident comes after another high-profile market controversy involving Kanye West’s YZY token.

Celebrity Profiles Hacked, Memecoin Crashes After $900,000 Pump

In an X post on Friday, popular media outlet NFR Podcasts reported that Instagram accounts belonging to the late Michael Jackson, as well as artists Adele, Tyla, and Future, had been simultaneously compromised to promote a scam memecoin. The fraudulent posts shared across the accounts featured an image of Future holding an oversized coin branded FREEBANDZ — the same name as the rapper’s music label and clothing brand. The imagery appeared designed to create a false sense of endorsement and legitimacy for the token.

Although the posts have since been removed, Future’s Instagram account was ultimately disabled. And as of now, none of the affected parties has issued public statements regarding the incident. According to data from Dexscreener, the token briefly surged upon launch, reaching a market cap of nearly $900,000 before collapsing to around $15,000 in about 30 minutes.

— NFR Lite (@NFR_Lite) August 22, 2025

On-chain data suggests the scam’s orchestrator may be linked to a wallet address ending in zcmPHn, which dumped 700 million FREEBANDZ tokens, securing 251.41 SOL valued at approximately $45,600. Another wallet, ending in bTp, also walked away with an additional $13,300 after swapping 85.6 million FREEBANDZ.

The rapid pump-and-dump underscores the risks surrounding memecoins and the ease with which hackers exploit high-profile names to lure in unsuspecting investors. In late 2024, for instance, rapper Drake’s X account was also compromised to promote a Solana memecoin called $ANITA, which generated around $5 million in trading volume before collapsing.

Meme coins remain largely unregulated, and the SEC has previously clarified that most do not qualify as securities, likening them instead to speculative collectibles with no underlying promise of profit. This regulatory gap has made memecoins fertile ground for these kinds of scams, highlighting the need for caution among traders.

Kanye West’s YZY Under Scrutiny For Insider Trading

In other developments, rap legend Kanye West has become embroiled in another memecoin controversy. According to Bitcoinist, the YZY token skyrocketed to a $3 billion market cap at launch before plunging more than 70% within hours.

On-chain data shows several wallets were pre-funded and primed to buy immediately after Ye’s announcement, fueling suspicions of insider trading. Notably, 13 wallets collectively walked away with $24 million in profits from the YZY frenzy. The token now trades at $0.705, with a fully diluted valuation (FDV) of $699.3 million.

Watch Out For XRP and Solana as Price Action Flashes Bullish Signals, Analyst Says

by admin August 23, 2025

XRP and Solana are showing signs of strength again, with traders pointing to both institutional flows and technical setups as catalysts for a fresh rally.

XRP is back above $3 after slipping under its 50-day moving average earlier this week, when whale selling dragged the token as low as $2.72. The rebound has traders watching for a break of $3.10 that could validate a move toward $4.

“With institutional adoption, ODL usage, and ETF optimism, the potential for $3 to $5 price levels remain realistic by year-end,” said Ryan Lee, chief analyst at Bitget, in a Saturday note to CoinDesk.

The bullish view follows months of regulatory wins for XRP and growing optimism that ETF products could unlock new demand. While whales booking profits created near-term pressure, some analysts argue that structural flows continue to point higher if resistance levels give way.

Solana’s rally looks equally notable. SOL jumped 10% in 24 hours to trade near $206, with momentum clustering in the $175–$180 range. ETF-driven staking demand and growing DeFi activity have pushed both open interest and total value locked higher, strengthening the case for continuation.

If the token holds above $180 and clears $205–$210 with conviction, traders see upside toward $250–$260 in the near term. Some models stretch the target as high as $300 if momentum persists and ETF clarity arrives.

If both sustain technical resilience, they could define the next leg of altcoin performance into the back half of 2025, Lee concluded.

Johnny Walker upsets Zhang Mingyang at UFC Fight Night in Shanghai

by admin August 23, 2025

Aug 23, 2025, 09:24 AM ET

Johnny Walker spoiled Zhang Mingyang’s homecoming party just as it was getting started early Saturday.

Headlining the first UFC event in China in six years, Walker ended a skid of two straight knockout losses with a shocking knockout of his own in a comeback against the Chinese light heavyweight in the main event of UFC Fight Night in Shanghai.

The 33-year-old Brazilian’s second-round TKO ended a 12-fight winning streak by Zhang, who had not dropped an MMA bout since 2019 and had not even seen a second round since 2018.

Zhang was fully in control throughout Round 1, landing some heavy shots and putting Walker on retreat. But Walker made it to the horn and came out for the second round with a different plan of attack: kicks to the calf. He landed a solid one that clearly affected Zhang, then connected with a second that collapsed the powerful striker, who came in riding a streak of nine straight first-round knockouts. From there, Walker (22-9, 1 NC) pounced on his damaged opponent for the ground-and-pound finish at 2:37 of the round.

“My kick is awesome, right?” Walker said.

He also briefly addressed the crowd with a few words of Chinese and gave respect to Zhang (19-7).

“A tough fighter from China, a lot of straight wins,” he said. “It’s a really good experience to fight a guy that’s very tough. You see, I’m durable. I got some punches in the face today and I keep coming, And then I got him. This is MMA. Amazing, right?”

Walker is unranked by ESPN but No. 13 in the official UFC rankings. Zhang sits one spot behind him.

The co-main event was a clash of ranked featherweights, but the bout was fought at a 153-pound catchweight because Brian Ortega was unable to make the division’s 146-pound weight limit.

Even given the catchweight, Ortega showed little resistance against Aljamain Sterling, who cruised to a unanimous decision over five dominant rounds (50-45, 50-45, 50-45).

It was noticeable right from the start that Sterling (25-5), a former bantamweight champion, was too quick for the two-time featherweight title challenger. Ortega (16-5, 1 NC) landed only 7% of his strikes (2 of 28) in the first round and was a step behind the rest of the way.

Sterling, No. 9 in the ESPN rankings at 145 pounds, won his second fight in his past three after dropping his title in 2023, a loss that ended a nine-fight winning streak. For the fourth-ranked Ortega, it was his second straight loss and his fifth in his past seven fights.

The fight card also included a matchup of heavyweights in the ESPN rankings, in which No. 6 Sergei Pavlovich took charge in the third round to get the better of ninth-ranked Waldo Cortes-Acosta (30-27, 29-28, 29-28). Pavlovich has won eight of his past 10 fights but lost to the champion, Tom Aspinall, less than two years ago.

Traders Are Shifting to Ethereum as Bitcoin Volatility Drops

by admin August 23, 2025

Bitcoin, once known to be the most volatile market in the finance space, is now acting calm and steady. The big swings that once made it famous are fading and this is pushing investors that love taking high risk to look for action somewhere else.

According to a report from Bloomberg, the world’s largest cryptocurrency is beginning to look more like a traditional stock than a risky gamble.

Bitcoin’s annual volatility has dropped to 38%, according to Bytetree Asset Management. The number was close to 200% over a decade ago. This means Bitcoin now moves in the same way that known firms like Tesla, Starbucks and co move. Some investors believe that the calm movement is because Bitcoin is turning into a long-term hold, and no longer for fast profits.

Because of this, attention is shifting to Ethereum, the second largest crypto on the chart. Recently, on several trading days this month, Ether exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have matched or even beaten Bitcoin in inflow due to shift in demand and purchase from corporate firms.

For instance, BlackRock’s Ether ETF, which was launched in April 2024, has already built $5.5 billion in open options positions. This equals about 40% of all Ether options on the trading platform Deribit. For many traders, this proves Ethereum has become the new place for faster price changes.

“This is not an everything rally,” said Jeff Dorman, chief investment officer at digital asset firm Arca. He explained that trading action is mainly focused on Bitcoin and Ethereum, not on smaller tokens.

However, the motivations differ between the two assets. “For many traders, the Bitcoin trade has already played out,” said Vivek Raman, founder of research firm Etherealize. “Ethereum still feels under-owned, more volatile, and more reactive.”

This month alone, Ether ETFs have seen $2.5 billion in inflow, while Bitcoin funds have suffered net outflows of $1.3 billion, according to Coinglass data.

But, the risk still remains, Arthur Azizov of B2 Ventures predicted that Ether prices could continue to consolidate between $3,900 and $4,400, but warned the price could slip toward the low $3,000s if leveraged trades unravel. As of the time of writing this report, Ethereum is trading for $4,775, up 13% today, according to CoinMarketCap.

“Ethereum is moving into a risk-off sentiment,” said Bradley Duke, European head of Bitwise. “A short squeeze can’t be ruled out, but for now, many funds are preparing for a pullback.”

The Internet Reacts To Hollow Knight: Silksong’s Big Day

by admin August 23, 2025

After six years, the clowning is over. Hollow Knight: Silksong is coming to a PC, Switch, Xbox, or PlayStation near you on September 4. Silksong has been conspicuously absent from industry events for so long that the act of anticipating the elusive Metroidvania has become a meme in and of itself. Now that it’s imminent, what does the internet do with all that pent-up energy? They draw, yell, and celebrate.

So far, the most prominent reaction to the Silksong news beyond keyboard smashing is art that represents the end of a meme. For years, Hollow Knight fans have been depicting their constant waiting for a crumb of news with images of the game’s characters dressed in clown make-up. The joke got so popular that someone modded it into the original game, and Geoff Keighley even referenced it ahead of Gamescom’s Opening Night Live show, where Silksong made an appearance. Now, fans are hanging up, throwing away, and burning their clown wigs and wiping off the makeup.

Time to hang up the costume. The wait is over (ノ*0*)ノ@gamescom @TeamCherryGames #gamescom #Silksong #hollowknight pic.twitter.com/rbNxhF9jp1

Hollow Knight fans are lining up in droves to play Silksong at Gamescom; we’ll see if those lines get a little smaller now that everyone knows the game is just two weeks away.

Here’s the line for the silksong demo at gamescom. They only have 10 game setups😭😭😭 pic.twitter.com/c2HUjdhBPy

— BlueSR @ gamescom (@BlueGoesFast) August 21, 2025

That’s not a lot of time, but it is enough time to play (or replay) the original Hollow Knight. It’s on just about any console you can imagine, and is still considered one of the best Metroidvania games of all-time. There’s a reason people have been clowning for all this time.

Goal Zero Yeti Pro 4000 portable power station review

by admin August 23, 2025

Why you can trust TechRadar

We spend hours testing every product or service we review, so you can be sure you’re buying the best. Find out more about how we test.

The Goal Zero powerstation lineup is impressive, especially since their merger with BioLite. According to Goal Zero, the Yeti Pro 4000 is their most remarkable power station yet. It boasts a high output, high capacity, high weight, and a high price to match.

There are several different setups that this power station can support. First, there are Haven Setups that provide additional capacity and a home connection point, allowing a home to function as a battery backup. Second, there is an option to integrate solar power, enabling recharging from the sun. Lastly, there is an escape system that can either convert a towable RV into a system powered by the Goal Zero Yeti Pro 4000 or a drivable kit that transforms an adventure vehicle into a system backed by the Yeti Pro 4000.

No matter what the use case is, if you need a large amount of reliable power, high output, and you’re willing to pay for quality gear, this system could be the right fit for you. Goal Zero’s goal with the Yeti Pro 4000 was to replace noisy and messy traditional gas generators – and they’ve done it.

I will note here that I have seen some notes about reliability issues that some have had with this unit, though I have not experienced that myself. So far, I haven’t had any problems.

Goal Zero Yeti Pro 4000: Pricing & Availability

The Goal Zero Yeti Pro 4000 is available on Goal Zero’s website for just under $4000. There are other retailers selling, including Amazon.com.

You can pick up an expansion battery to extend the capacity for another $2000, and there are other accessories to outfit this even further.

Worth noting that I’m seeing limited availability outside the US right now.

Goal Zero Yeti Pro 4000: Design & build quality

Specs

Battery: ~3,994 Wh (LiFePO₄), 4,000+ cycles
Power: 3,600 W continuous; 7,200 W surge
Recharge: 1,800 W AC inlet; up to 3,000 W solar

The Goal Zero Yeti Pro 4000 is not a compact device. It’s pretty cumbersome, so it has a wheeled base that comes with the standard purchase to facilitate more effortless movement.

Sign up to the TechRadar Pro newsletter to get all the top news, opinion, features and guidance your business needs to succeed!

However, what it misses in ease of mobility, it makes up for in pure power. The output is phenomenal for this size, and the choice in port layout makes sense. All of the inputs are on the back of the unit, plus the inverter you would use if you are plugging into the Haven system, for example.

All of the output ports are on the front, making it super simple if you want to set this unit up and leave it somewhere for an extended period. You can set it and forget it, and still you’re able to plug in everything you may need to without moving the unit around, unless you are changing primary inputs, which is less familiar to change around than outputs.

(Image credit: Collin Probst // TechRadar Pro)

Goal Zero Yeti Pro 4000: In use

The Yeti Pro 4000 by Goal Zero is designed to carry a heavy load, all without any issue. It’s intended to be a home backup, a primary power system on the road, or even a primary system for an off-grid building.

It’s rated to run a residential fridge for 1-2 days, while also running a Wi-Fi Setup, basic lighting, and other essentials. If you connect to solar, depending on the sun, you can keep things running for longer. You recharge with the sun and then run off the battery when the sun is not out, and recharge via the solar panels.

For home use, this is an easy option. Set it, forget it, keep it tucked away, hooked up to your house with a Haven backup system. If your home requires more power, you can add more tanks, which adds capacity to run off-grid for longer.

For those who are looking for an RV/Van Life/Off-Grid Camper solution, you can have this unit in the corner of your setup, or tucked away and have it plugged in with the Escape system to have an integrated screen and complete system, meaning you’ll never even have to touch this unit, or if you don’t want to do that, you can plug anything and everything you need into the front of this unit, have any solar input plugged into the back, and then you can run things that way.

If you do choose to add the Escape System, you can then add an integrated screen wherever you want in the vehicle or trailer to control all aspects of the Yeti Pro 4000 while the unit itself is tucked away. Add this to a system where you have outlets placed where you want them throughout your off-grid home on wheels, and it will feel like you’re in a standard home when it comes to power convenience.

Some people don’t need a semi-permanent setup, and they want something that can be brought out for job sites, one-off jobs, or similar projects. The Yeti Pro 4000 can be great for this, too, as long as you have a good way to transport it there. But, if you work at a job site and you want to be able to swap out the traditional generator for a portable power station to recharge tools, run a table saw, or similar tasks, this is a great solution.

Goal Zero Yeti Pro 4000: Final verdict

No matter your potential solution, this power station is a serious one worth considering. It could power you for days on the road if used reasonably, and it could back up essentials in your home in the case of a power outage. The Yeti Pro 4000 has a great set of offerings for expansion, and it is built to last. If you’re looking for a high-powered, high-capacity, and highly reliable power station, the Yeti Pro 4000 is one worth considering – keep in mind that it’s not easy to move.

A few hours into The Rogue Prince of Persia’s 1.0 release, it’s Dead Cells with beautifully balletic carnage – but hopefully there’s a bit more to it

by admin August 23, 2025

Our pal the Prince of Persia has been through a lot since his seminal debut in 1989, his form ever-shifting like, well, the sands of time. But throughout it all, from his eye-popping rotoscoped origins to his leap into the third dimension, and then, over the last few years, back into the side-on world again, there’s one thing that’s consistently defined the series’ core: movement. Sure, old Prince was positively plodding compared to his later incarnations, but a sense of unparalleled fluidity has stayed true. I say all this, because The Rogue Prince of Persia, which has just had its 1.0 release on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, PlayStation Plus, and Game Pass after a year in Steam early access, still manages to feel like part of the series’ nearly four-decade legacy, despite yet another reimagining of its form.

It’s admittedly still early days for me as far as The Rogue Prince of Persia goes, and I’ve only had a couple of hours with it right now – but already I’m impressed with how chef’s kiss its movement feels. Before we get too deep into that, though, it’s worth taking a step back. The Rogue Prince of Persia, if you didn’t already know, comes from Evil Empire, the studio responsible for the acclaimed Dead Cells’ long tail of post-launch support before original developer Motion Twin pulled the plug. And there’s unquestionably a lot of the old in Evil Empire’s new.

The Rogue Prince of Persia might swap Dead Cell’s dark, dank fantasy aesthetic for the shimmering domes and arid vistas of the titular city – here, you’re attempting to overthrow Nogai the Hun and his invading army – but at its core, it’s still a combat-heavy side-scroller featuring labyrinthine procedurally assembled levels, persistent power-ups, temporary per-run weapons and buffs, and, yes, a roguelike structure. You fight, you die, you go again, slowly gaining news skills and upgrades in the hope that next time, this time, will be the one. It’s certainly not a carbon copy, but it’s familiar enough – right down to specifics like its fast-travel interface – that it’s been hard to shake the feeling that, as a Dead Cells fan, I’ve already danced this particular dance a few too many times before.

The Rogue Prince of Persia release trailer.Watch on YouTube

Exactly how much that matters, though, I’m not yet entirely sure. And mainly that’s down to movement. As is befitting of the series’ legacy, The Rogue Prince of Persia feels fantastic from the off, with a sense of fluidity to the Prince’s parkour-inspired moveset that’s bordering on the sublime. He’s a nimble one; slickly switching from leaps to lunges to wall runs to pole jumps with fleet-footed abandon, and all with the press of a couple of intuitively arranged buttons. And it’s fast. There’s a rhythm to the traversal-skewed action, as you sprint, drop, squat, pounce, slash, and vault over enemies, that – after a bit of initial adjustment – is enormously rewarding. And shrewedly, actually rewarding, given that perfectly timed acrobatics further increase your nimbleness across the world.

That gratifying sense of movement extends to combat too, with melee and ranged attacks managing to feel as punchy and crunchy as the Prince is quick. And the way all those traversal tricks cleverly fold into combat encounters helps give The Rogue Prince of Persia a vibe of its own. All of this, I should note, is wrapped up in some fantastic presentation. It’s gorgeously animated for starters – little moments like the Prince hurling himself backward into each level’s fast-travel wells adds bags of personality to the experience – and the varied biomes look beautiful too. The whole thing’s fashioned from a mix of 3D foregrounds and 2D backdrops seamlessly brought together by a visual style reminiscent of famed comic book artist Moebius. And while you could perhaps argue the game’s original art – with its strikingly purple Prince – was a little more characterful before its mid-development do-over, it’s still a looker.

So a few hours in, my thoughts are mixed. There’s a sense Evil Empire could perhaps have stepped further out of Dead Cells’ shadow, because there’s an underlying familiarity to The Rogue Prince of Persia that’s dulling my enthusiasm a little. My hope, though, is it’ll eventually start to open out into something a little bolder. But for now at least, that movement – that beautiful balletic carnage – is carrying me through.

Lifeline or Last Resort for Struggling Firms?

by admin August 23, 2025

Corporate adoption of crypto in treasury management is growing rapidly. In the first half of 2025, the tally of public companies holding BTC nearly doubled, according to a report from K33 Research.

K33 revealed that between December 2024 and June 2025, the number of listed firms with Bitcoin (BTC) on their balance sheets climbed from 70 to 134, amassing a total of 244,991 BTC.

The trend is drawing comparisons to earlier waves of corporate gold adoption. “There are clear parallels, particularly around providing a means for investors to access an underlying asset which they may have previously struggled to access,” Mike Foy, chief financial officer at AMINA Bank, told Cointelegraph.

Foy said the movement’s sustainability hinges on market specifics and regulatory environments. “Time will tell if this becomes a sustainable trend, but it is clear that strategy has a first mover advantage,” he noted, adding that companies in jurisdictions with limited access to institutional crypto products stand to benefit the most.

Crypto treasuries: lifeline or last resort?

Notably, the crypto treasury trend is also fueling skepticism that struggling firms may be using digital assets as a reputational lifeline. Foy acknowledged that the temptation exists for firms under pressure.

Last month, biotech firm Windtree Therapeutics disclosed a $60 million purchase agreement with Build and Build Corp. to begin its BNB treasury plan, followed by a $500 million equity line of credit and a $20 million stock-purchase pact to expand its holdings.

The company briefly enjoyed a boost in mid-July when it announced the BNB treasury strategy, but shares have since fallen more than 90% from their peak.

On Tuesday, Nasdaq announced the biotech firm would be delisted for failing to maintain the $1.00 minimum bid price required under Listing Rule 5550(a)(2).

Foy suggested examining their behavior to spot firms using crypto treasury for short-term optics. He advised checking management’s risk expertise, leverage levels, focus on core business and insider share sales.

“If any of these seem strange or out of the ordinary, then this is possibly a sign that this isn’t a long term plan but rather a short term share price play,” he said.

Firms test Ether, altcoins in treasuries

While Bitcoin remains the dominant choice for treasuries, firms are beginning to experiment with Ether (ETH) and selected altcoins. The difference, according to Foy, lies in the potential for staking rewards and new collaboration opportunities with blockchain foundations.

Last month, Ray Youssef, CEO of NoOnes, said Ethereum’s hybrid appeal is drawing treasury managers. “Ethereum starts to look like a hybrid between tech equity and digital currency. This appeals to treasury strategists looking beyond passive storage,” he said.

Youssef said ETH’s staking yield, programmability and compliance-friendly roadmap have made the cryptocurrency appealing to “forward-looking companies, especially those already involved in the digital economy.”

Here’s Why Crypto Set the Market on Fire Yesterday

by admin August 23, 2025

Cryptocurrency markets skyrocketed into new territory Friday after Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell signaled that interest rate reductions could be imminent, pushing the Dow to its first 800-point plus gain this year. That ended the Dow’s longest streak without a new high since Dec. 4, 2024, according to Dow Jones Market Data, and signaled a major surge of optimism at the prospect of some economic policy relief.

Cryptos were major stars of that rally.

Ethereum (ETH) climbed over 15% to reach a new all-time high of $4,885, surpassing its previous record from November 2021, while Solana (SOL) swung between 8% and 12.5% in a 24-hour period, nudging just past the longtime “psychological” mark of $200 for a high of $201.94. Bitcoin (BTC) lovers also had their moment when it climbed 2.5% to $114,700 from $112,000, clawing back some of its losses from earlier this week.

As cryptocurrencies and stocks soared, the probability of a September Fed rate cut jumped to 90% following the speech, Reuters reports.

So why all the enthusiasm?

Simply put: When the market feels more secure, it invests in places considered riskier bets. Cryptocurrencies and other fintechs that are part of emerging technology sit squarely in those crosshairs.

This time it appears institutional investors led the charge, as they look for investments that can balance out a shaky U.S. dollar, general volatility, and risk.

“It’s almost a relief rally,” Carol Schleif, chief market strategist at BMO Private Wealth, told the Wall Street Journal. “Markets had anticipated more angst.”

The optimism from the market is a sign monetary easing is a reversal of that angst, and could be a change in fortune for the sector, which has whipsawed in recent trading, said Steve Lee, co-founder and managing partner at Neoclassic Capital and investor in BlockTower Capital.

“I see this as constructive in the short term, and it may help reverse this week’s sell-off. The key question is whether this momentum holds beyond the low-liquidity weekend. Since BTC and ETH price action is increasingly institutionally driven, spot ETF flows today and Monday will be a strong indicator of whether we are set for another leg higher,” Lee told CoinDesk.

What did Powell say?

As usual, Powell got straight to the point during his Wyoming speech on Friday.

“Downside risks to employment are rising,” Powell said at the Jackson Hole Symposium. “And if those risks materialize, they can do so quickly in the form of sharply higher layoffs and rising unemployment.”

Powell also said recent policy moves from the Trump administration could affect inflation.

“With policy in restrictive territory, the baseline outlook and the shifting balance of risks may warrant adjusting our policy stance,” he said, adding that tariffs could push inflation higher, at least temporarily. “A reasonable base case is that the effects will be relatively short lived, a one-time shift in the price level.”

So how high did we go?

In this rally’s case, a rising tide did indeed lift all boats.

The broader S&P 500 also saw strong gains, rising 1.5%, its best performance since May, and equities were a bright spot on the NASDAQ Composite, which advanced 1.9%.

But perhaps most importantly, the index used by Wall Street to gauge how frightened investors might be, the CBOE Volatility Index (VIX), dipped more than 14% to its lowest level this year. The VIX is a favorite of trading pros and shows how turbulent the market feels.

Those gains across the board are an encouraging sign for both the buyside and the sellside, experts said.

“Correlations between cryptos and equities are high, and we see a market mood that will be highly sensitive to this week’s comments from the Jackson Hole meeting of monetary authorities, as well as from any reactions from fiscal authorities,” wrote Manuel Villegas, an analyst at Julius Baer, in a research note.

Which crypto continue to rise?

While nothing is a given once the opening bell rings, some analysts are already predicting which companies they think will continue to do well.

Analysts at Monarq Asset Management told CoinDesk that there’s still more room for Ethereum to grow, and that they expect to see the coin top $5,000 in near-term trade.

“We maintain our overall bullish stance. Market internals remain constructive, with few signs of overheating and, as you point out, a clear path to new all-time highs in both BTC and ETH,” Sam Gaer, chief investment officer of Monarq Asset Management’s Directional Fund, told CoinDesk.

“Our house view is that Powell’s dovish pivot has cleared the way for $5,000+ in the near term, also not the hardest call to make,” Gaer said. “Demand from treasury vehicles should increase into the fall as many of the deals announced this summer close or de-SPAC, in addition to ongoing institutional and retail inflows.”

Will Powell lower rates?

Friday’s rally was a perfect example of how sensitive global markets are to Fed policy, particularly after a long period of no rate cuts. Analysts, traders, and every other player in finance have been attempting to read Powell’s tea leaves for years with only moderate success, and even a major rally like Friday’s can’t completely fortify a very fragile market.

While no one can be entirely certain what Powell and the Fed will do next week, market watchers across the board are bullish on the move. “The Fed isn’t going to be the party-pooper,” Brian Jacobsen, chief economist at Annex Wealth Management, told the WSJ.

How much that rate cut might matter in the long run remains to be seen.

“We’re still doubtful that a September cut points to a prolonged interest rate cutting cycle. Risks to inflation are real and coming from many angles,” Lauren Goodwin, economist and chief market strategist at New York Life Investments, wrote in a Friday note.
