by admin May 24, 2025

Whether you need a little or a lot of Wordle help this weekend, we’ve got exactly what you need ready to go. Keep it simple with a quick glance at our general tips, go a little deeper with a clue written especially for today’s game, or run straight for the May 24 (1435) answer. We just want to make sure you win.

Every guess after the first row felt like a cruel tease today. I was so sure I’d definitely got the answer this time. No? OK then, this time. Maybe this time, please? I could see I was slowly inching my way towards today’s winning word because new green and yellow letters kept popping up, but it didn’t feel like I was getting anywhere. At least by the time I hit the bottom of the board there was only one valid word left to try—panic over.

Wordle help: 3 tips for beating Wordle every day

A good starting word can be the difference between victory and defeat with the daily puzzle, but once you’ve got the basics, it’s much easier to nail down those Wordle wins. And as there’s nothing quite like a small victory to set you up for the rest of the day, here are a few tips to help set you on the right path:

  • A good opening guess should contain a mix of unique consonants and vowels.
  • Narrow down the pool of letters quickly with a tactical second guess.
  • Watch out for letters appearing more than once in the answer.

There’s no racing against the clock with Wordle so you don’t need to rush for the answer. Treating the game like a casual newspaper crossword can be a good tactic; that way, you can come back to it later if you’re coming up blank. Stepping away for a while might mean the difference between a win and a line of grey squares.

Learn more about Wordle

Wordle gives you six rows of five boxes each day, and you’ll need to work out which secret five-letter word is hiding inside them to keep up your winning streak.

You should start with a strong word like ARISE, or any other word that contains a good mix of common consonants and multiple vowels. You’ll also want to avoid starting words with repeating letters, as you’re wasting the chance to potentially eliminate or confirm an extra letter. Once you hit Enter, you’ll see which ones you’ve got right or wrong. If a box turns ⬛️, it means that letter isn’t in the secret word at all. 🟨 means the letter is in the word, but not in that position. 🟩 means you’ve got the right letter in the right spot.

Your second guess should compliment the starting word, using another “good” word to cover any common letters you missed last time while also trying to avoid any letter you now know for a fact isn’t present in today’s answer. With a bit of luck, you should have some coloured squares to work with and set you on the right path.

After that, it’s just a case of using what you’ve learned to narrow your guesses down to the right word. You have six tries in total and can only use real words (so no filling the boxes with EEEEE to see if there’s an E). Don’t forget letters can repeat too (ex: BOOKS).

If you need any further advice feel free to check out our Wordle tips, and if you’d like to find out which words have already been used you can scroll to the relevant section above.

Originally, Wordle was dreamed up by software engineer Josh Wardle, as a surprise for his partner who loves word games. From there it spread to his family, and finally got released to the public. The word puzzle game has since inspired tons of games like Wordle, refocusing the daily gimmick around music or math or geography. It wasn’t long before Wordle became so popular it was sold to the New York Times for seven figures. Surely it’s only a matter of time before we all solely communicate in tricolor boxes.

Blades of Fire Review – Arduous Adventure

by admin May 24, 2025

Blades of Fire developer MercurySteam has a fascinating trajectory. Amidst excellent releases in the Castlevania and Metroid franchises, MercurySteam interrupted its strong run with a few disappointing releases. All of that is to say, its output has been inconsistent. Blades of Fire, sadly, falls on the lower end of the spectrum of its games, but it is not completely without merit. Excellent art direction, technical proficiency, impressive animation, and a unique combat system are all in its favor, but so many design decisions and ideas drove me absolutely crazy over the course of the game that I lived in a perpetual state of frustration while playing. A positive first impression and desire to get to know its protagonists eventually fell aside for an experience that is entirely too long, full of unearned twists, and needlessly challenging.

Among the positives, Blades of Fire’s world and setup invite exploration. Protagonist Aran is a soft-spoken, but imposing hermit who works with steel and seems to only want to do good. He saves a young monk named Adso and is given one of the seven hammers used to create the world. It means he (and the player) can create his own weapons, and he decides to use this new power to say flatly, “I am going to kill the queen,” inviting his new ward Adso to join him. I liked that opening moment and wanted to see why he was so resolute in his quest, but the resulting revelations mostly fall flat. It’s also a narrative that frequently puts you inches from the queen, only to inexplicably introduce a new supervillain that takes hours and hours to defeat. I constantly felt like I was gearing up for the final confrontation, only to be pushed further away.

Combat is different than most sword action games and takes some getting used to. The four face buttons dictate which direction Aran swings his weapon. Enemies display their weak points, meaning encounters are often a matter of figuring out which direction to attack. For example, if their head is the weak point, you attack from above. It never gets much deeper than that, though, and by the end of the game, the weapon I was using was a stronger factor than how I was attacking enemies. But the way weapons and progress work, there is little incentive to engage in combat.

Aran makes his weapons, which involves collecting materials and playing a smithing minigame. If you are enamored with a particular blade and successfully built it once before, you can thankfully skip the minigame. I quickly found the process of creating or rebuilding weapons annoying, especially early on, when I would go through myriad weapons when stuck on bosses. Since the only incentive to kill enemies is more materials to make more gear, and engaging enemies only brings your weapons closer to destruction, I often ran from objective to objective without fighting in order to save my favorite swords.

The running between objectives is where the game most frustrated me. Navigating nearly every location in the game is a nightmare. There is a map and a menu option to show your next objective, but it helps only about half the time. I spent the other half running around avoiding enemies, just trying to find a door I missed, or a secret entrance – anything. And to make matters worse, extended sections hamper you even further. One area involves carrying a small skeletal child who can fall off and be kidnapped if you get attacked. I spent hours trying to ensure the child stayed on my back while searching for the exit and dodging enemies. In another area, a slow-witted ghost follows you, and in order to progress, you have to wait for them to remember where a switch used to be, or something comparable. I found these sections baffling, but the other, more straightforward locations were equally confusing. I rarely felt the reward of figuring something out. More often, I just angrily shouted at the TV, “How was I supposed to find that?” after stumbling across a climbing rope or an elevator hidden behind a statue.

Finally figuring out where to go or what to do is the bad kind of surprise Blades of Fire is so adept at delivering, but there are good surprises, too. The larger narrative didn’t grab me, but I like the dynamic of Aran and Adso. I also like that it is very easy to send Adso away if he gets annoying, which is a smart way to mirror the narrative nature of their relationship through gameplay. Blades of Fire also delivers big, epic moments that showcase its dense fantasy world and character and creature design well. Giant monsters and impressive vistas live up to the high standard MercurySteam has set for itself with its past games. I liked looking at Blades of Fire, even if playing it was arduous.

I consider myself a MercurySteam fan, and even after gleefully closing the game when I saw credits (and deciding the lengthy, extended final quest for the true ending was not for me), I remain a fan. Blades of Fire feels a bit like the developer’s attempt at bringing something new to what has now become the overpopulated Souls-inspired genre. It was unsuccessful in this instance, but some of its ideas around combat and the world it created are exciting. They just couldn’t overcome the parts that made me want to give up on the game.

Let’s Talk About ChatGPT and Cheating in the Classroom

Michael Calore: That’s pretty good. Katie?

Katie Drummond: My recommendation is very specific and very strange. It is a 2003 film called What a Girl Wants, starring Amanda Bynes and Colin Firth.

Michael Calore: Wow.

Katie Drummond: I watched this movie in high school, where I was cheating on my math exams. Sorry. For some reason, just the memory of me cheating on my high school math exams makes me laugh, and then I rewatched it with my daughter this weekend, and it’s so bad and so ludicrous and just so fabulous. Colin Firth is a babe. Amanda Bynes is amazing, and I wish her the best. And it’s a very fun, stupid movie if you want to just disconnect your brain and learn about the story of a 17-year-old girl who goes to the United Kingdom to meet the father she never knew.

Michael Calore: Wow.

Lauren Goode: Wow.

Katie Drummond: Thank you. It’s really good.

Lauren Goode: I can’t decide if you’re saying it’s good or it’s terrible.

Katie Drummond: It’s both. You know what I mean?

Lauren Goode: It’s some combination of both.

Katie Drummond: It’s so bad. She falls in love with a bad boy with a motorcycle but a heart of gold who also happens to sing in the band that plays in UK Parliament, so he just happens to be around all the time. He has spiky hair. Remember 2003? All the guys had gel, spiky hair.

Lauren Goode: Yes, I still remember that. Early 2000s movies, boy, did they not age well.

Katie Drummond: This one, though, aged like a fine wine.

Michael Calore: That’s great.

Katie Drummond: It’s excellent.

Lauren Goode: It’s great.

Katie Drummond: Mike, what do you recommend?

Lauren Goode: Yeah.

Michael Calore: Can I go the exact opposite?

Katie Drummond: Please, someone. Yeah.

Michael Calore: I’m going to go literary.

Katie Drummond: OK.

Michael Calore: And I’m going to recommend a novel that I read recently that it just shook me to my core. It’s by Elena Ferrante, and it is called The Days of Abandonment. It’s a novel written in Italian, translated into English and many other languages, by the great pseudonymous novelist, Elena Ferrante. And it is about a woman who wakes up one day and finds out that her husband is leaving her and she doesn’t know why and she doesn’t know where he’s going or who he’s going with, but he just disappears from her life and she goes through it. She accidentally locks herself in her apartment. She has two children that she is now all of a sudden trying to take care of, but somehow neglecting because she’s-

Katie Drummond: This is terrible.

Michael Calore: But it’s the way that it’s written is really good. It is a really heavy book. It’s rough, it’s really rough subject-matter-wise, but the writing is just incredible, and it’s not a long book, so you don’t have to sit and suffer with her for a great deal of time. I won’t spoil anything, but I will say that there is some resolution in it. It’s not a straight trip down to hell. It is a, really, just lovely observation of how human beings process grief and how human beings deal with crises, and I really loved it.

In the current market cycle, FARTCOIN presents an attractive proposition for those seeking a blend of fun and engagement in crypto. Its distinctive features and community focus could position it well for future developments. As meme culture continues to influence the digital landscape, FARTCOIN’s integration of humor and blockchain technology might make it a standout in the years to come.

Conclusion

As memecoins like FART lose momentum, their short-term potential appears limited. In contrast, Codename:Pepe crypto emerges as a new contender aiming to maximize profits through genuine artificial intelligence. It sets itself apart by providing practical tools to navigate the volatile meme coin market effectively.

Codename:Pepe crypto utilizes advanced AI to identify promising tokens, predict market trends, and generate exclusive trading signals. Overwatch 2’s hero bans mean changes for Sombra, Zarya, and more

Overwatch 2’s hero bans mean changes for Sombra, Zarya, and more

by admin May 24, 2025

Blizzard Entertainment rolled out its hero ban feature for Overwatch 2 in April, and if you’ve been playing any competitive games during season 16, you’ve probably noticed that certain heroes (e.g., Sombra, Zarya, Symmetra, Ana, Mercy) are among the most consistently banned characters. Newly published data from Blizzard shows that to be the case, with some qualifications, and it seems the frequency of banning those heroes will ultimately have some consequences. Some heroes may get rebalanced or more substantially changed, the developer says, partly as a result of their consistent bans.

“Sombra leads the PC pack with an impressive 85% ban rate, followed by Zarya at 59% and Doomfist at 43%,” Blizzard said in a blog post. “On consoles, Sombra is banned even more, with a 93% rate. She’s followed by Zarya at 57% and Symmetra at 23%.”

Gavin Winter, a senior systems designer at Blizzard, says that the past month’s worth of hero ban data will be used “to help inform balance changes” in Overwatch 2. “Heroes that are more niche or map specific may need to become more generalized if they’re always banned where they perform well,” Winter said. “Heroes that are very unpopular might see more adjustments regardless of performance. Ultimately though, there aren’t any specific changes in the works based on this data yet, and Hero Ban data alone would never dictate how Heroes are balanced.”

Exactly what that means for characters like Zarya and Symmetra is obviously unclear, but if a character like Sombra is unavailable to play in 85% of competitive games of Overwatch 2 because players hate facing her, that’s a big problem. What’s the point of investing in a character if you can only play them competitively so rarely?

That said, minus some tie-breaking decision-making quirks in the hero ban system, Blizzard is “happy with how it works overall.” Winter said, “We believe the system is meeting most of its goals, and we’re excited to see how Hero Bans evolve over time, especially once we start releasing more data about our Hero win rates and pick rates in the future!”

Blizzard will give players more control over how matches play in season 17, due in late June, when it rolls out a new map-voting feature.

RTX 4090 16-pin meltdown victims resort to DIY solutions to prevent further disaster

by admin May 24, 2025

The notorious 16-pin (12VHPWR) power connector continues to be a persistent issue for some unlucky users. While user reports of 16-pin meltdowns have diminished recently, they still occur. The most recent case involves an unlucky GeForce RTX 4090 owner who shared his experience on Reddit and presented a DIY solution to avert future incidents.

Redditor malcanore18 recounted how the 16-pin power connector on his GeForce RTX 4090 had melted. To avoid it happening in the future, the user improved his 16-pin power cable by integrating six miniature fuses. Although the solution might not be visually appealing, the underlying idea sounds plausible. If one of the pins draws too much power, the corresponding fuse will blow, causing a chain reaction for the other fuses. Although this band-aid solution may seem basic, replacing the fuses is less costly than repairing the graphics card. Another Redditor suggested using resettable fuses instead, as they can automatically reset themselves after an incident and do not require replacement like conventional fuses.

A catastrophe often unites strangers. Redditor jlodvo demonstrated that there can be multiple ways to solve a problem. Instead of fiddling with the 16-pin power connector, he addressed the issue directly. The user reportedly asked someone to remove the power connector and solder each wire directly to his graphics card. This shouldn’t pose a problem if the user has a modular power supply that allows him to disconnect the cable from the power supply end whenever he wants to remove his graphics card from the case.

A third Redditor, IMI4tth3w, offered a solution he applied to an L40 with a melted 16-pin power connector, partly due to a faulty third-party cable. He described removing the melted connector and reverse-engineering the cables to utilize two standard 8-pin PCIe power connectors. However, the author cautioned that this method may not apply to all graphics cards. The specific reason it works on the L40 is that this data center graphics card appears to feature a pigtail version of the 16-pin power connector.

It’s intolerable that meltdowns remain a problem, particularly with Nvidia graphics cards that cost a small fortune. Although numerous theories exist regarding the cause of these meltdowns, we have yet to receive a definitive answer from Nvidia. In the meantime, many Nvidia graphics card owners remain anxious, uncertain if the smell of burning plastic could eventually emanate from their GeForce RTX 5090 or GeForce RTX 4090 graphics cards one day.

Graphics card and power supply manufacturers have taken specific steps to counteract the problem, such as implementing colored connectors to ensure they’re adequately inserted or special sensors inside the power supply. These DIY workarounds for the 16-pin meltdowns look neat, but we don’t recommend you try them unless you know exactly what you’re doing.

Elden Ring live-action film officially in development

by admin May 24, 2025

An Elden Ring live-action film has been officially confirmed, written and directed by Alex Garland (Ex Machina, Warfare).

Film production company A24 and Bandai Namco are both behind the project, based on FromSoftware’s 30m-selling RPG.

George R. R. Martin is one of a handful of producers, Deadline reported. The A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) author was responsible for the game’s story and characters.

Elden Ring Nightreign | Overview Trailer. Watch on YouTube

It’s unclear if FromSoftware itself is involved, or the game’s creator Hidetaka Miyazaki. Peter Rice, Andrew Macdonald, and Allon Reich are all producers from British film company DNA (which helped producer Garland’s films).

No further details are available at this time, so it’s unknown what the plot will focus on, as well as casting details or a release date.

We’re thrilled to announce that Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. and A24 are teaming up with writer and director Alex Garland to bring FromSoftware Inc.’s world-renowned video game ELDEN RING to life as a live-action film.

Rumours have previously swirled about an Elden Ring film, with Martin in particular hinting at its possibility.

“I have nothing to say. Not a word, nope, not a thing, I know nothing, you never heard a peep from me. What rumour?” he said in 2024 on his personal blog.

Then earlier this year, Martin said there was “some talk” about the film but his involvement would be limited due to him being busy finishing up a certain book series.

Of course, Elden Ring has already been adapted in Japan into a manga series, which turns the game into a farce with its Tarnished wretch struggling to survive.

There’s also a fan-made Elden Ring anime in the works, due out later this year.

FromSoftware is following up Elden Ring this month with multiplayer spin-off Nightreign – it’s convinced me a multiplayer Souls game can work.

Tether Increasing US Dollar Hegemony, CEO Says

by admin May 24, 2025

During a Friday appearance on CNBC, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated that USDT is the stronghold for the US dollar hegemony.

“We are a company that created three new important features for currency. The first one is financial inclusion…That is a great feature. But then, on top of that, we are spreading the US dollar hegemony. I mean, I think that we are the stronghold… we are the stronghold for the US dollar hegemony,” he said.

Ardoino has stressed that Tether now owns more U.S. Treasuries than such countries as Germany, Spain, and Australia.

“If we were a nation, we would be the 18th largest nation holding US Treasuries,” he said.

According to CoinGecko data, Tether’s USDT currently boasts a market cap of $152 billion.

Audits and transparency

Paolo has stressed that its quarterly attestation is performed by BDO, the fifth-largest auditor in the world.

When it comes to the “Big Four” auditing firms, such as PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Deloitte, Ernst & Young (EY), and KPMG, Paolo has stressed that they are still “very, very” cautious. That said, the stablecoin giant is still engaging in discussions with these juggernauts.

“There was Operation Chokepoint 2.0… The same people who are managing the big four auditing firms are very, very cautious… requires them to become comfortable with the new landscape that is changing,” he said.

Paolo has stressed that hiring a “Big Four” auditing firm will remain the “top priority” for Tether.

Aptos price at range low support could spark major reversal toward $20

Aptos price at range low support could spark major reversal toward $20

by admin May 24, 2025

Aptos is holding firm at a key long-term support zone near $3.20, a level that has historically preceded strong bullish reversals. A breakout above resistance could ignite a move toward $20.

Aptos (APT) is trading at the lower boundary of a large high time frame range, a zone that has historically acted as a strong support base. This range low, combined with the value area low, forms a technical confluence around the $3.20 region. Price action has respected this level multiple times since 2022, each time preceding a bullish rally toward the $19–$20 resistance zone.

The current structure suggests accumulation is underway, potentially setting the stage for a rounded bottom formation — a classic reversal setup. However, a break above the point of control (POC) is essential to confirm the start of an expansion phase. Until then, Aptos remains range-bound, but the context leans bullish.

Key technical points,

  • Major Support: $3.20 range low in confluence with the value area low
  • Key Resistance: Point of Control (POC) needs to be broken with volume
  • Target Resistance Zone: $19–$20, the long-term range high

APTUSDT (1D) Chart | Source: TradingView

From a structural perspective, Aptos is forming a rounded bottom, which often signals accumulation and the potential for reversal. As price curls up from the support zone, momentum is gradually building. The most critical level to monitor now is the point of control — a horizontal level of heavy volume that has historically acted as a ceiling for price.

A convincing breakout above the POC, backed by a spike in volume, would shift the current structure from consolidation into expansion. Historically, price has accelerated toward the $20 region shortly after breaking above this level. This same setup could be unfolding again, and as long as price holds the current $3.20 support, the probability of upside continuation increases.

Market context also shows that Aptos is trading within a clearly defined range, but with each touch of the lower boundary, bullish responses have followed. The pattern suggests that the current phase is more likely an accumulation rather than distribution, increasing the odds that the next major move will be to the upside.

What to expect in the coming price action

If Aptos continues to hold the $3.20 level and breaks above the point of control with volume, a move toward the $19–$20 range high is likely. Until then, expect consolidation with a bullish bias as accumulation continues beneath resistance.
