Ethereum Cofounder Moves $262 Million to Kraken, What’s Happening?

by admin May 20, 2025

Ethereum cofounder Jeffrey Wilcke might be on the verge of selling around $262 million ETH on the open market. According to data insights from Arkham Intelligence, the early Ethereum developer sent 105,732 ETH to Kraken cryptocurrency ecosystem.

Ethereum sell-off scare

According to the Arkham data, the transfer was carried out at block height number 22524638 with a total fee of 0.000063 ETH valued at $0.16. This transaction has sparked a potential sell-off concern as Kraken is generally known as the platform whales use to liquidate their holdings.

It remains unknown whether the wallet associated with this Ethereum cofounder was dormant prior to this time; the transfer has stunned observers with its timing.

You Might Also Like

Ethereum’s price is yet to break through the $2,500 mark, as volatility continues to play a part. However, Wilcke timed the transaction to coincide with a 1.56% rebound to $2,490.44.

Over the past 24 hours, the price of the top altcoin dropped to a low of $2,452 before rebounding. Ethereum whales are generally always active, considering its stable liquidity and broad markets.

Besides Jeffrey Wilcke, high-volume transfers have been linked to Justin Sun and the Ethereum Foundation recently.

Is ETH price under threat?

Related transfers are often signs of distress in the ecosystem. While the ETH price is staging a recovery overall, if more related whale transfers are unchecked, it can trigger another unexpected drawdown.

You Might Also Like

Already, Ethereum’s price has yet to return to its highest for the day, pegged at $2,585 atop a 3.26% drop over the past week.

The impact of the Pectra upgrade is also fading fast, as there are reports of a possible bug threat in EIP-7702. Overall, market experts are watching the trends, especially with the possibility that the Jeffrey Wilcke transfer has other unknown purposes, like custody.

Pi Network Faces Obstacles As Price Wobbles Below $1, What’s Happening?

by admin May 20, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Pi Network has seen its price struggle since its launch after an initial rally pushed the price to $2.98. Its launch in February 2025 was highly anticipated and triggered its lift-off as believers who had been with the project for five years were finally rewarded. However, with the passage of time, the coin has also succumbed to the pressures from the bears and has now fallen by more than 75% from its all-time high. So, in this report, we take a look at the Pi Network price and the reasons behind the consistent decline.

Pi Network Runs Into Post-Launch Troubles

It’s been three months since the Pi Network main net launch and the project has already been faced by problems. The first problems that arose after launch was the locked coins and lots of miners being unable to claim their coins due to KYC issues. Nevertheless, the coin continued to maintain the trust of its users.

With months already gone, the lack of listing on Tier 1 crypto exchanges such as Binance and Coinbase has raised concerns among investors. Given that the altcoin is now a top 30 cryptocurrency with a market cap of over $5 billion, it makes it one of the only few coins in this category with no Tier 1 listing.

As a result of this, community members have speculated that the team’s actions could be the reasons behind the lack of listing. This is because top exchanges usually require transparency before listing tokens due to their large audience and there are rumors that the Pi Network team have been less than forthcoming about their token.

Another issue that has risen up is the lack of decentralized finance (DeFi) usage on the platform. No DeFi apps have been deployed, thus leaving the Pi Network  price at the mercy of crypto market forces, with no real activity to create demand and push it higher.

Pi Network community members have also called for transparency on the $100 million Pi Network Ventures fund that was announced to promote innovative startups. So far, there have not been any developments that would show growth to the community.

Price Runs Into Troubles

With no network activity driving the Pi Network price, it has fluctuated with the crypto market. During the weekend, the altcoin saw an over 50% surge above $1.2. But this rally was short-lived as the price has since retraced and crashed back down below $1.

This struggle below $1 mirrors the lack of strong support as the community is still doubting the future of the token and are questioning whether the Pi Network team will deliver on its promises. If these promises do end up being a reality, it is likely that the Pi Network price does reverse and test for new highs this bull cycle.

Jurassic Park Limited-Edition 4K Steelbook Box Sets Release June 17

by admin May 20, 2025

Jurassic Park/World fans can add collectible 4K editions of all six movies to their personal library in a few weeks. The original Jurassic Park Trilogy and Jurassic World Trilogy are getting limited-edition 4K Blu-ray collections on June 17. The box sets are releasing just in time for a franchise rewatch before Jurassic World Rebirth hits theaters on July 2. The Jurassic Park Trilogy Limited Edition Steelbook and Jurassic World Trilogy Limited Edition Steelbook are up for preorder for $60 each at Amazon and Walmart.

If you’re interested in picking up either collection, you may want to preorder soon. Shortly after preorders opened in April, Amazon raised the price of both sets to $94. Those (ridiculously) high prices remained in place for a few weeks before returning to the more reasonable $60 price point within the past week. You won’t be charged for your preorder at either retailer until it ships, and you’ll automatically get any additional discounts offered between the time you order and release.

$60 (was $65) | Releases June 17

The Limited Edition Steelbook box set of the original trilogy includes 4K Blu-ray and digital versions of Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and Jurassic Park 3. Dolby Vision and HDR10 are also supported for more vibrant images, while Dolby Atmos gets you enhanced audio. Along with a chance to enjoy the trilogy in 4K, you’ll get the following bonus content:

Jurassic Park Trilogy Special Features

  • Return to Jurassic Park: A six-part documentary series on the making of the trilogy
  • Archival featurettes
  • Behind-the-scenes footage
  • Deleted scenes
  • Theatrical trailers
  • Feature commentary

$60 (was $65) | Releases June 17

Relive the Jurassic World Trilogy with this Limited Edition Steelbook collection. It features 4K Blu-ray and digital formats for Jurassic World, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and Jurassic World Dominion. Dolby Vision and HDR10 are also supported, as is Dolby Atmos for enhanced audio. Like the Jurassic Park Trilogy, it’s packed with hours of bonus content:

Jurassic World Trilogy Special Features

  • In-depth featurettes
  • Interviews with the cast and crew
  • Behind-the-scenes footage
  • Deleted scenes

While these two Limited Edition Steelbooks are mighty tempting, they’re not the only way to get your hands on the 4K movies. The Jurassic World Ultimate Collection (4K) is a more frugal option–though you won’t get any steelbooks, it offers 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray editions of each film. Typically $100, it’s on sale for the impressive price of $53. Better yet, this collection is available now, so you can catch up on all the action before Jurassic World Rebirth hits theaters in July.

Looking for another fun way to bring Jurassic Park into your home? Check out the long list of Jurassic Park Lego sets. These run the gamut from tiny playsets for young fans to premium display pieces that would look great in most home theaters.

Philips Hue Indoor Smart LED Lightstrip Kit Is Way Cheaper Than It Was on Black Friday on Amazon

by admin May 20, 2025

The right lighting can totally transform a space. Whether it’s to add mood lighting or to match up with what you’re watching to make for a more immersive experience, lights can change things in ways you might not expect. Of course, they can make things brighter when you don’t have any light to go by, too. And if you’re looking for flexible lighting to add to your home or maybe even just your living room, strip lighting is the way to go.

Right now, you can get the 16-foot Philips Hue Indoor Solo Lightstrip Base Kit for just $55, down from its usual price of $90. That’s $35 off and a discount of 39%.

See at Amazon

Flexible lighting at an affordable price

This 16-foot lightstrip delivers up to 1,700 lumens of brightness, providing awesome illumination for various settings. Its RGBWW LEDs ensure a wide range of color options, allowing you to customize the hue and intensity to match your mood or activity.

All the lighting has a silicone sleeve covering it, so it’s more durable and easier to manipulate. And it works just like a regular strip you’d cut of paper. You just trim it to how much you want and stick it to a clean surface. Then plug it in. You can add it to your TV, to walls, and a number of different places and it’ll stay there as long as you want it.

You can control the lighting with the Philips Hue app, which gives you over 60 preset scenes and the ability to create custom lighting schedules. For those who prefer voice commands, the lightstrip is compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit, providing hands-free operation.

While the Solo Lightstrip functions effectively on its own, integrating it with the Hue Bridge (sold separately) unlocks additional features. This includes the ability to control up to 50 lights and accessories, set up automations, and manage your lighting remotely, enhancing the overall smart home experience.

For just $55, you’ve got a lot of flexibility in terms of where you can put the lighting, how much you cut, what color you use, and much more. It’s much easier to use than a regular lamp, and you can make sure everything stays where it should. If you want to add some lighting options to more difficult spaces, this might be your best bet. Just make sure you get yours before it’s no longer on sale. You’ll be glad you did.

Microsoft acknowledges it supplied AI technology to Israel’s Ministry of Defense, but “no evidence” it’s been used to “target or harm people in the conflict in Gaza”

by admin May 20, 2025

Microsoft has acknowledged it has supplied AI technology to the Israel Ministry of Defense (IMOD) but has stated it “found no evidence” the technology had been used to “target or harm people in the conflict in Gaza”.

Microsoft published a statement last week, where it admitted to providing IMOD with “software, professional services, Azure cloud services, and Azure AI services, including language translation”. It added: “As with many governments around the world, we also work with the Israeli government to protect its national cyberspace against external threats”.

The statement follows reports of Israel using AI in its conflict in Gaza, which has resulted in thousands of Palestinian deaths. As reported by The Guardian last year, the Israeli military employed its own AI system, called Lavender, with intelligence sources claiming Israeli military officials permitted large numbers of Palestinian civilians to be killed.

As Microsoft has now acknowledged, there were concerns from its employees and the public regarding the use of its Azure and AI technologies by the Israeli military. In response, it has conducted an internal review, alongside an external firm the company has omitted to name.

“Based on these reviews, including interviewing dozens of employees and assessing documents, we have found no evidence to date that Microsoft’s Azure and AI technologies have been used to target or harm people in the conflict in Gaza,” the company said.

“Our relationship with the IMOD is structured as a standard commercial relationship,” it continued. “Like all our customers, the IMOD’s use of our technology is bound by Microsoft’s terms of service and conditions of use, including our Acceptable Use Policy and our AI Code of Conduct. These require customers to implement core responsible AI practices – such as human oversight and access controls – and prohibit the use of our cloud and AI services in any manner that inflicts harm on individuals or organisations or affects individuals in any way that is prohibited by law.”

Microsoft noted it does occasionally provide special access to its technologies beyond the terms of its commercial agreements. It did this in the weeks following 7th October 2023 by providing limited emergency support to the Israeli government to help rescue hostages, but with “significant oversight and on a limited basis”.

It also noted militaries “typically use their own proprietary software or applications from defense-related providers for the types of surveillance and operations that have been the subject of our employees’ questions. Microsoft has not created or provided such software or solutions to the IMOD.”

The company also acknowledged it does not have visibility into how its customers use its technology on their own servers, typically the case for “on premise software”. As such, it does not have visibility to the IMOD’s government cloud operations.

“In sum, Microsoft has long defended the cybersecurity of the State of Israel and the people who live there,” the statement concludes.

“We similarly have long been committed to other nations and people across the Middle East. Our commitment to human rights guides how we engage in complex environments and how our technology is used. We share the profound concern over the loss of civilian life in both Israel and Gaza and have supported humanitarian assistance in both places. The work we do everywhere in the world is informed and governed by our Human Rights Commitments. Based on everything we currently know, we believe Microsoft has abided by these Commitments in Israel and Gaza.”

Last year, a group of current and former Microsoft employees launched the No Azure for Apartheid petition, which currently has 1527 signatures. The group has now called for Microsoft to make this investigation public.

“It’s very clear that their intention with this statement is not to actually address their worker concerns, but rather to make a PR stunt to whitewash their image that their relationship with the Israeli military has tarnished,” said former employee Hossam Nasr to Israeli newspaper Haaretz. Nasr was fired in October for helping to organise an unauthorised vigil for Palestinians killed in Gaza at Microsoft’s headquarters.

As RockPaperShotgun reported, the international Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement called for a boycott of Microsoft products last month in protest against the company’s reported connections with the Israeli military. Back in February, the Associated Press published a report into the use of AI technology by the Israeli military, including Microsoft and OpenAI.

Similarly, the developer of indie role-player Tenderfoot Tactics removed the game from sale on Xbox in support of the boycott.

Bearish Pattern Hints at Possible Drop Toward $2.00

by admin May 20, 2025

Global economic uncertainties are weighing heavily on cryptocurrency markets, with XRP experiencing significant selling pressure after failing to maintain momentum above $2.40.

The digital asset has formed a bearish head-and-shoulders pattern on short-term charts, with high-volume selling emerging precisely when testing key resistance levels.

Multiple analysts, including Ali Martinez, warn that losing the critical $2.30 support could trigger a substantial decline toward the $2.00 mark.

Technical Analysis Highlights

  • XRP formed a distinct head-and-shoulders pattern after rallying to a peak of $2.411 before declining 3.38% to $2.330.
  • Significant resistance established at the $2.40 level with high-volume selling pressure.
  • Support at $2.345 was tested multiple times before breaking during the 13:00 hour with volume surging 23% above the 24-hour average.
  • Price declined from $2.341 to $2.329 in the last hour of trading, representing a 0.5% drop.
  • Significant volume spike occurred at 13:35 when price plummeted from $2.345 to $2.337, accompanied by over 2.1 million in volume.
  • Multiple failed attempts to recover above $2.340 between 13:38-13:41 created a lower high pattern.
  • Renewed selling pressure emerged at 13:47-13:50, driving XRP to session lows near $2.326 with elevated volume confirming distribution.

Ripple CEO Clashes With Senate Crypto Chair Lummis

by admin May 20, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

A simmering dispute between Ripple Labs chief executive Brad Garlinghouse and Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.) burst into the open on Monday, May 19, after the senator’s staff cancelled a meeting with the fintech executive and declined to offer a new date.

Ripple CEO Starts Public Dispute

Garlinghouse, already in Washington to lobby for the pending GENIUS Act on stablecoins and for broader market-structure reform, took the unusual step of airing the dispute on X. “Heading to DC to champion sensible pro-crypto legislation … That said, @SenLummis, as Chair of the Digital Assets Subcommittee, cancelled a meeting with me (and won’t reschedule),” he wrote, before challenging the senator to debate him “anytime” in an X Space or on stage at upcoming industry conferences.

“As a leader in Congress and Senator from one of the most crypto-friendly states (WY), I hope you will reconsider and be a leader for ALL of crypto. I invite you to join me on an X Space anytime (or a live convo onstage at one of the many events we cross paths at) to talk about how to make the US the crypto capital of the world, as is the goal of the Trump Administration. I will continue to do everything possible to support that goal,” Garlinghouse wrote via X.

Senator Lummis has not commented publicly on the cancellation, but her office confirmed she is concentrating this week on floor action related to the stable-coin bill, which cleared a 65-32 procedural vote in the Senate on Tuesday morning and will now face a lengthy amendment process.

The Wyoming Republican—long celebrated by Bitcoin advocates—was tapped in January to chair the Banking Committee’s new Subcommittee on Digital Assets, a post that gives her first crack at shaping federal crypto legislation. At the time of her appointment she declared that “digital assets are the future” and pressed colleagues to establish a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve.

Garlinghouse’s public rebuke exposed a deepening philosophical divide: the Ripple chief argues that US policy must be “multichain,” whereas Lummis has positioned herself as the Senate’s fiercest pro-Bitcoin voice.

Bitcoin Maximalists Cheer, Ripple Allies Bristle

The senator’s supporters inside the Bitcoin community applauded the snub. Troy Cross of the Bitcoin Policy Institute thanked Lummis: “Just when you thought Lummis couldn’t be a better Bitcoiner. Sen Lummis for keeping the scammers at bay.”

Pierre Rochard, vice-president of research at Riot Platforms, derided Garlinghouse on X, claiming he had “ruined [his] reputation and lost all credibility by pushing for CBDCs and against Bitcoin,” while market commentator Joe Consorti said the Ripple chief’s “lifetime of bashing Bitcoin” had left him with “zero credibility.”

XRP partisans fired back. Influential content creator Crypto Eri told her followers that the senator’s “Bitcoin-maxi moves hurt the entire ecosystem.” Australian attorney Bill Morgan reposted Garlinghouse’s thread with the warning that Lummis “is a champion of Bitcoin exceptionalism, not a level playing field.” Fellow lawyer Fred Rispoli dismissed the cancellation as staff-level gamesmanship, writing, “A staffer cancelled it for her … a lobbyist told the staffer to cancel it.”

At press time, XRP traded at $2.39.
