Borderlands 4 Just Got FOV Sliders On Console And Some Other Nice Fixes

by admin September 26, 2025

Since the launch of Borderlands 4 earlier this month, the game has suffered from performance issues on both console and PC. Players have also been upset about the lack of a field-of-view slider on console. Well, good news, Gearbox’s latest patch for Borderlands 4, out now on all platforms, adds the missing FOV slider, improves performance and stability, and fixes a ton of other issues, too.

On September 25, Gearbox published the lengthy patch notes for Borderlands 4‘s latest free update. And there’s a lot to go through, but the biggest news for many console players is that Gearbox has added an FOV slider to the game. This had been one of the main requests from players, and something Gearbox has been working on since launch. Just a heads-up that increasing the FOV in Borderlands 4, like in any game, could lead to performance issues. Speaking of performance issues, the patch notes don’t specifically mention a fix for the issue of the game running worse on consoles after extended play, but it does make mention of “various” fixes for “hitching, low FPS, and crashes.” So hopefully that helps and means I don’t have to restart my PS5 Pro every so often to play Borderlands 4 at 60fps.

Another bug that is supposedly squashed is the problem of missing weapon icons when using your menu or inventory. This happened to me a lot on PC and to a few friends of mine on PS5. Oh, and for all you fans of the Doom-inspired Hellwalker shotgun, Gearbox has confirmed that the gun not being a fire elemental weapon was a mistake, and all future Hellwalkers will come with fire pellets. Tiny fix, but one that I love.

And that’s not all. While this update makes a few tweaks to the playable vault hunters, Gearbox has confirmed that there are even more buffs coming in a different Borderlands 4 patch next week. No word on nerfs to the popular knife build or the super jump, which is nice. It seems these broken strats are safe…for now. Oh, and in case you didn’t hear, the Switch 2 port of the game has been delayed. At least it will launch with all of these fixes on day one.

Anyway, here are the full patch notes:

ARK Invest Forecast Highlights $25 Trillion Crypto Market Cap, Here’s How Much Ethereum And XRP Will Be

by admin September 26, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Ark Invest, an American investment management firm, has recently shared a long-term forecast that envisions the Ethereum (ETH) price reaching the six-digit territory if the total crypto market capitalization surges to $25 trillion. Ark Invest also notes that Ethereum stands to be one of the biggest winners in this scenario, with XRP also set to capture significant value.

Ethereum’s Share Of The Projected $25 Trillion Market

Lorenzo Valente, Director of Research at Ark Invest, explained in a video post on X social media that Ethereum currently accounts for approximately 13.5% of the total cryptocurrency market capitalization. He predicts that if the global crypto market cap climbs to $25 trillion within the next five years, Ethereum could command a market valuation of approximately $3.37 trillion. This translates into a price of about $28,000 per token—a level that would mark a historic moment for ETH.

The Ark Invest Director pointed to key drivers underpinning the cryptocurrency’s strength to reach such a valuation. These include the tokenization of Real-World Assets (RWA) on the Ethereum blockchain, the network’s rapid growth in DeFi, the growing presence of stablecoins, and ongoing innovations across Layer 2 solutions.

Valente further notes that more than $120 billion in total value is already locked within Ethereum and its scaling networks, highlighting its liquidity dominance. For stablecoins, the blockchain accounts for over $100 billion of the sector’s $200 billion capitalisation, a commanding position that underscores its role as the backbone of the DeFi landscape.

Notably, Valente emphasized ETH’s yield-bearing nature, with staking making the cryptocurrency one of the few revenue-generating digital assets. Beyond its ability to generate yield, the Ark Invest Director notes that Ethereum is also the number one collateral used on Layer 2s, a medium of exchange within NFT marketplaces, and the currency for paying network fees.

He also believes that scaling improvements on Layer 1 and Layer 2 over the next five years could attract millions more users, reinforcing ETH’s dominance and positioning it as a unique asset unlike any other in the crypto market.

XRP’s Growth Potential In A $25 Trillion Crypto Market

While Ethereum is positioned at the forefront of Ark Invest’s projection, XRP remains one of the most closely watched altcoins in the market. Currently valued at approximately $2.8 billion after a recent decline, the cryptocurrency has a total market capitalization of $170.6 billion. For reference, the entire crypto market also has a market cap of $3.93 trillion, as of the time of this report.

Based on these figures, XRP’s current market share is about 4.3% of the entire industry. If this ratio is maintained during the broader market’s projected rise to a $25 trillion valuation, XRP could achieve a market cap of roughly $1.05 trillion. With its current circulating supply, this would imply a price of approximately $17 per token, representing a more than sixfold increase from current levels.

Ethereum Trade on Hyperliquid Stands Out as Largest Amid $1B Crypto Liquidations

by admin September 26, 2025

An ETH$3,953.08 trade on Hyperliquid turned out to be the biggest liquidation hit in the past 24 hours as crypto traders took on more than $1.19 billion in leveraged positions amid a market downturn.

Longs made up nearly 90% of the overall wipeout, per CoinGlass, leaving over 260,000 traders losing money and exposing the market’s bullish overcrowding.

Ether bore the brunt with $448 million in liquidations, followed by BTC$109,488.33 at $278 million. Solana’s SOL (SOL), XRP$2.7715, BNB Chain’s BNB (BNB) and DOGE$0.2274 all saw tens of millions flushed out.

But the single largest trade closure came on Hyperliquid — a $29.1 million ETH-USD long hit which is indicative of the growing role of decentralized perpetual exchanges in driving liquidations.

Bybit handled the most overall liquidations at $311 million, but Hyperliquid followed closely with $281 million, ahead of Binance’s $243 million.

For a relatively recent protocol that operates fully on-chain with no KYC or regulatory firewalls, Hyperliquid’s share of liquidations points to traders piling risk into perpetual decentralized exchanges (DEXs) in size. A 97% long bias further showed how aggressively users were positioned before the flush.

The wave came as sentiment remains fragile and bitcoin sees volatile price action around the $111,000 mark. Spikes in liquidations are often read as clearing events that pave the way for reversals, but with positioning stretched across majors and high-beta tokens alike, downside risks linger.

Meanwhile, some say projects with strong revenue flows could emerge attractive to traders amid an otherwise risk-off mood.

“While crypto markets are down, capital is still rotating from Bitcoin into altcoins, with perpetual decentralized exchanges (Perp DEXs) like Hyperliquid and Aster leading the charge,” said Nick Ruck, director at LVRG Research.

“We expect altcoins to slowly grind upward as investors seek projects that can decouple from macro pressures and continue to grow based on their own utility,” Ruck added.

Crypto ETF Boom Expected In Q4, Expert Predicts Surge In Issuer Activity

by admin September 26, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

The remainder of the year is poised to be a pivotal time for crypto ETFs and their issuers, as experts anticipate a significant boom in these investment vehicles. With the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) now adopting a more favorable stance toward crypto assets, the stage is set for a surge in ETF applications.

Industry insiders are optimistic about the potential for new products that aim to provide exposure to alternative cryptocurrencies like XRP, Dogecoin (DOGE), Solana (SOL), Cardano (ADA), and Hedera (HBAR).

SEC Streamlines Crypto ETF Approval Process

The SEC’s newly updated standards for crypto ETFs, announced just last week, promise to stimulate demand for exchange-traded products linked to these cryptocurrencies.

Analysts are particularly eager about the anticipated approval of products associated with Solana and XRP, with expectations that these ETFs could make their debut as early as October.

Steven McClurg, founder of Canary Capital Group, noted a surge in filings with the SEC, stating, “We’ve got about a dozen filings with the SEC now, and more coming. We’re all getting ready for a wave of launches.”

Jonathan Groth, partner at DGIM Law, also pointed that the fourth quarter of the year is shaping up as “boom time” for the crypto ETF market, further adding to the anticipation for the altcoins to join this trend.

The SEC’s recent vote to adopt new listing standards streamlines the approval process, reducing the time required for new crypto products to launch from up to 270 days to 75 days or less.

This change eliminates the need for individual regulatory reviews for each application, allowing firms to bring products to market more swiftly. As Teddy Fusaro, president of Bitwise, explained, “These are the rules we had been anticipating.”

Market Readiness In Question

Grayscale has already taken advantage of this, rolling out its Grayscale CoinDesk Crypto 5 ETF less than 48 hours after receiving approval from the SEC to transition from a private to a publicly traded fund. This ETF includes major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, alongside XRP, Solana, and Cardano.

To qualify for the expedited approval process, an ETF must meet at least one of three criteria: the underlying asset must already be traded on a regulated market or have futures contracts regulated by the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) that have been active for at least six months.

Alternatively, an existing crypto ETF tied to that coin, with at least 40% of its assets invested directly in the cryptocurrency, could also pave the way for approval.

Despite the excitement surrounding these new developments, questions remain about the market’s appetite for a flood of crypto ETFs centered on lesser-known coins.

Kyle DaCruz, director of digital assets product at asset manager VanEck, highlighted the need for investor education, noting, “There will be a flood of tokens that many folks have never heard of, and instead of years, there will be weeks or months to provide that education.”

Everything Announced During The Xbox Tokyo Game Show Broadcast

by admin September 26, 2025

Xbox held a special broadcast for Tokyo Game Show headlined by the reveal of Forza Horizon 6. In case you missed the presentation, we’ve rounded up each announcement (in alphabetical order) for a quick recap of the event.

007 First Light

Actress Gemma Chan (Crazy Rich Asians, Eternals, The Creator) is making her video game debut by joining the cast of IO Interactive’s upcoming James Bond game. Chan portrays Dr. Selina Tan, a tech expert and senior MI6 official who leads a training program for recruits.

Age of Mythology: Retold – Heavenly Spear

Age of Mythology: Retold is getting a new expansion set in Japan. A fresh story told across 12 missions pits players against new gods and monsters, while also introducing new powers. Heavenly Spear launches on September 30

Aniimo

First announced earlier this summer, the creature-collecting RPG Aniimo got a new trailer showing off more of its whimsical monsters. That includes a majestic space whale. Aniimo launches in 2026.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

Treyarch announced new multiplayer maps set in the Land of the Rising Sun for its upcoming Black Ops 7. The maps include the urban sprawl of 2035 Tokyo and Den, set in the rural countryside near a castle.

Double Dragon Revive

In addition to its main campaign, the upcoming co-op brawler features a 50-mission Challenge Mode. Clearing them unlocks character episodes to add more narrative perspectives.

Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake

The upcoming remake of the first two Dragon Quest games is getting a brand new area: the ocean floor. A trailer shows players traversing its salty depths to find the fallen underwater town of Mersea, which holds a mystery about its past.

Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake

Announced during this month’s Nintendo Direct, the remake of the 2003 PS2 horror classic made another appearance in a new developer diary. Fatal Frame series director Makoto Shibata discussed the game’s graphical and audio improvements and evolved Camera Obscura gameplay.

Forza Horizon 6

The next Horizon game is coming in 2026 and takes players to Japan. So far, we know the open-world racer. Although developer Playground Games won’t be revealing gameplay until early next year, it does (unsurprisingly) tease Tokyo and the countryside surrounding Mt. Fuji as some of the many locations players will cruise through. The game’s roster of cars will also highlight Japanese car culture.

Forza Horizon 6 launches next year for Xbox Series X/S and PC via Windows and Steam. The game will also come to PlayStation 5 sometime post-launch.

Gungrave G.O.R.E. Blood Heat

Despite Gungrave G.O.R.E. releasing in 2022, it’s getting a full Unreal Engine 5 remake. Blood Heat features revamped combat, redesigned enemy encounters, and other revisions to level design, player interactions, and other systems.

Gungrave G.O.R.E. Blood Heat is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, and has no release window.

Hitman: World of Assassination

Agent 47 is teaming up with an unlikely but powerful ally: Bruce Lee. The legendary martial artist/actor is an Agent helping 47 infiltrate an international martial arts tournament at the Himmapan Hotel in Bangkok, which secretly holds meetings for the Concord Union. Agent Lee must win the tournament to face Union’s elusive leader, Dragon Head.

This new elusive target mission arrives for free starting September 25 and runs until November 20.

Hotel Barcelona

Ahead of its release tomorrow, Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro and Goichi “Suda51” Suda revealed the multiplayer modes for their roguelike action game, Hotel Barcelona. The game supports 3-player co-op and has a PvP invasion system where players control copies of themselves to sabotage their runs.

Microsoft Flight Simulator

Following the news that Flight Simulator 2024 is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox has released the free World Update 20 that lets players take flight over Japan. The update adds 23 new photogrammetry areas covering over 20,000 square kilometers of the country, featuring numerous landmarks. A new aircraft is also coming in the form of the Japanese Nihon Aircraft Manufacturing Corporation (NAMC) YS-11.

World Update 20: Japan is available now for Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024, while the NAMC-YS-11 costs $19.99.

Mistfall Hunter

A new map was unveiled for the upcoming fantasy action extraction game called Solemn Needles. Set in a sacred forest housing a powerful relic, it will launch alongside the game later this year.

Monster Hunter Stories

In addition to next year’s Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, Capcom announced that the first two games, Monster Hunter Stories and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, are coming to Xbox on November 14.

Ninja Gaiden 4

PlatinumGames and Team Ninja discussed Ninja Gaiden 4’s difficulty design in a new developer video. The studios also unveiled a new training mode, a series first, that will allow players to improve their skills to tackle the game’s tough challenges.

Project Evilbane

This four-player co-op action RPG got a new trailer showing off its fantastical, stylish action. Project Evilbane arrives during the second half of 2026 for Xbox on PC, but Xbox Series X/S owners have to wait until 2027.

Rhythm Doctor

After coming together in Steam Early Access since 2021, this quirky rhythm game starring doctors who heal patients timing a defibrillator to their heartbeats, comes to Xbox in 1.0 form on December 6.

Romancing Saga 2: Revenge of the Seven

This 2024 remake of Romancing Saga 2 makes it Xbox debut, and owners can play the game starting… today!

Starsand Island

This whimsical upcoming life sim got its first CG trailer while teasing its multiplayer features.

Sudden Strike 5

The fifth entry in the World War II strategy series got a new trailer. Look for the game to release next year.

Terminull Brigade

The stylish free-to-play looter shooter is coming to Xbox Series X/S on October 31 and got a new trailer teasing a crossover with Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Winter Burrow

This cozy survival game stars a young city mouse who, after returning to the wilds, must endure a harsh winter. We’ve had our eye on Winter Burrow since it’s reveal last year, and it’s launching on November 12.

Kraken has secured fresh funding at a $15 billion valuation, boosting its war chest as it eyes a 2026 initial public offering.

Summary

  • Kraken raised $500M at a $15B valuation with Tribe Capital backing.
  • The exchange reported strong revenue growth in H1 2025, nearly double 2024.
  • IPO plans have been pushed to 2026 as Kraken expands into tokenized assets.

According to a Sept. 25 Fortune report, the round closed this month without a single lead investor, with Kraken itself setting the terms. Participants included investment managers, venture capitalists, and CEO Arjun Sethi’s Tribe Capital, as well as Sethi in a personal capacity.

The exchange, founded in 2011, has now raised over $527 million in total funding, following its initial $27 million investment.

Kraken’s strong financials amid IPO delay

The funding round comes as Kraken prepares for a public listing, now expected in 2026. Investors were drawn to the company’s steady profitability. It reported $411 million in revenue and nearly $80 million in post-EBITDA earnings in the second quarter.

Kraken’s valuation places it among the industry’s most valuable private exchanges, second only to Coinbase. The firm has been expanding through acquisitions, including the $1.5 billion purchase of NinjaTrader earlier this year, which added two million customers. It has also rolled out new products such as tokenized stocks, or “xStocks,” aimed at bridging crypto with traditional markets.

Leadership and strategy

Since cofounder Jesse Powell left his position as CEO of Kraken in 2022, Sethi has played a key role in leading the company. The co-founder of Tribe Capital and venture capitalist has stressed the importance of establishing Kraken as a center for tokenized assets and institutional trading.

Under his direction, Kraken has entered the retail market and increased the scope of its institutional offerings, such as advanced APIs and derivatives. But the shift has also been accompanied by executive turnover and internal restructuring, which have sparked worries about morale and management style.

Market backdrop

Kraken’s funding comes amid a resurgence of cryptocurrency IPOs, with Circle, Gemini, and Bullish having already listed this year. The company’s choice to hold off until 2026, however, raises questions because a change in the market cycle could reduce investor interest in cryptocurrency stocks.

Analysts note that Kraken’s established reputation and diversified revenue sources put it in a stronger position than many of its rivals to weather volatility. The $500 million round shows that investors remain confident as the exchange prepares for its next phase of growth.

Nine Banks Unite On Euro Stablecoin, Eye Rollout In H2 2026

by admin September 26, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Nine major European banks have formed a consortium to launch a MiCAR-compliant euro-based stablecoin in the second half of next year.

ING, UniCredit, & Other European Banks Are Coming Together For Stablecoin

As announced in a press release by Italian banking giant UniCredit, the bank is joining forces with eight other major European institutions to launch a stablecoin pegged to the euro.

“This digital payment instrument, leveraging blockchain technology, aims to become a trusted European payment standard in the digital ecosystem,” read the press release.

The stablecoin will have compliance with the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR), the bloc’s comprehensive framework on cryptocurrencies. MiCAR covers a range of areas, like issuance and custody of digital assets, as well as the operation of platforms related to them.

The full list of banks that have come together to form the consortium for the euro-denominated token includes: ING, Banca Sella, KBC, Danske Bank, DekaBank, UniCredit, SEB, CaixaBank, and Raiffeisen Bank International.

All of these are major banking players, but two are perhaps particularly prominent: ING and UniCredit. ING is a Dutch multinational bank that’s designated as a Global Systemically Important Bank (G-SIB) by the Financial Stability Board (FSB). G-SIBs are considered to be institutions so ingrained into the world financial order that any disruptions related to them can have widespread economic consequences. Italy’s UniCredit was also included in this category until 2023, when FSB removed it from the list.

The nine banks have formed a new company in the Netherlands, planning to get approval from the Dutch Central Bank as an e-money institution. The press release noted that the consortium is welcoming more banks to join them. The stablecoin, which is currently slated for issuance in the second half of 2026, will be positioned as a real European alternative to the currently US-dominated market.

“At UniCredit, we believe in the importance of a stronger Europe and in the power of constructive dialogue and collaboration,” said Fiona Melrose, Head of Group Strategy and ESG at UniCredit. “By joining this consortium of leading European banks, we are contributing to fill the need for a trusted, regulated solution for on-chain payments and settlement.”

The consortium also intends to appoint a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in the near future, subject to regulatory approval, to lead the new entity in the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, in the US, stablecoins have been seeing regulatory momentum lately. Just this Tuesday, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) launched an initiative to explore their use as collateral in derivatives markets, a move that could further integrate them into mainstream finance.

What’s the best Wordle starting word?

Is Wordle getting harder?

Wordle is not getting harder!

There will always be the occasional day where the answer is the name of a body part, has a sneaky double vowel, or a word obscure enough to send everyone rushing off to a dictionary. But the daily answers, edited by Tracy Bennett, are still a good mix of common terms and tougher challenges.

Remember that if you’re craving more of a challenge, you can enable Hard Mode under the ⚙️ options menu. This option doesn’t make the words themselves harder, but it requires that “any revealed hints must be used in subsequent guesses.”

How did Wordle begin?

Wordle is the creation of Josh Wardle, and began life as a small personal project before its public release in 2021. From there it’s gone on to become a global phenomenon, attracting a dedicated daily audience, billions of plays, a whole host of competitors, and even a seven-figure sale to the New York Times where it’s become a mainstay of daily games alongside the crosswords and Connections.

Starbreeze admits it “dropped the ball” over stealth price increase to DLC bundle

by admin September 26, 2025

Starbreeze has admitted it “dropped the ball” after introducing a premium DLC subscription service for Payday 2 at the same time as increasing the price of its DLC bundle Infamous Collection without warning.

The company launched a subscription service for Payday 2 on Steam as part of the franchise’s 12th anniversary celebrations yesterday (September 24). The service offers players access to all the game’s available download content for $4.99 a month (with monthly renewal) or $19.99 for six months, with the option to cancel anytime.

What wasn’t part of the announcement, however, was a 50% hike to the DLC bundle, taking it from $100 to $150, resulting in a vocal backlash from the heist shooter’s long-time community.

In a statement to GameDeveloper, head of commercial Gustav Misser said: “We dropped the ball on coordinating internally and communicating with our community properly.

“The negative reaction makes complete sense, and the community has made it clear how the price change and its timing looks from the outside. We agree with the community, we messed up on this one, and we have reverted the price on the bundle effective immediately.

“In hindsight we should have realized how it would seem,” he added. “Since the bundle only charges for the items you don’t own, and the bundle discount is cumulative with any other discounts (i.e. discounts on the included items), the actual full price of the bundle can vary significantly.”
