Squarespace Acuity: Features

Acuity offers scheduling features that rival dedicated appointment platforms. You get unlimited appointments, payment processing through Stripe/Square/PayPal, and automated email/SMS reminders. The system handles recurring bookings, group sessions, and custom intake forms seamlessly.

Compared to competitors like Calendly, Acuity actually provides more business-focused features. Calendly excels at simple meeting scheduling, but, Acuity supports subscriptions, memberships, and gift certificates. You can create appointment packages and offer multiple services with different durations.

Other website builders offer basic scheduling, but few match this level of depth. WordPress booking plugins require technical setup and multiple extensions. Wix provides simpler booking widgets without advanced payment or business features.

Acuity’s integration ecosystem includes 40+ apps through Zapier and direct connections to Google Analytics. However, it lacks some team-specific integrations that Calendly offers, like CRM connections to Salesforce or HubSpot. That’s because the focus stays on service-based businesses rather than sales teams.

Squarespace Acuity: Ease of use

Acuity strikes a good balance between power and simplicity. The setup wizard guides you through essential configurations like time zones, booking intervals, and client permissions. We found the interface intuitive even for non-technical users, though it’s more complex than basic schedulers like Calendly.

Its learning curve sits in the middle range among scheduling tools. Beginners can get basic booking running quickly, but mastering advanced features takes time. The “look busy” feature and buffer time settings show thoughtful design for real-world scheduling challenges.

Client-facing booking pages are clean and straightforward. Your customers can select services, pick times, and complete intake forms without confusion. The mobile experience works well, though some users report the timezone selector is small and easy to miss.

That said, Acuity lacks specific accessibility documentation or WCAG compliance features. While most scheduling tools don’t prioritize accessibility, this could still be a limitation for businesses serving diverse clients. Its interface relies heavily on visual cues and mouse interaction, which may challenge users with disabilities.

Email notifications

Acuity lets you send automated emails to clients about their appointments, packages, and subscriptions. Currently, you can send various notifications to your clients including initial confirmation, reminders, cancellations, follow-ups, package/gift certificate orders, and subscriptions, including payments, renewals, and cancellations.

If you’re on the Growing or Powerhouse plans, you can send text message appointment reminders so your clients don’t miss a booking. Plus, to make sure your team stays on the same page, you can set up internal notifications to keep your staff informed about new, rescheduled, or canceled appointments.

Lastly, to reach out to your clients with promotions, updates, and more, you can also send marketing emails using Squarespace Email Campaigns.

Syncing appointments with third-party calendars

Acuity easily syncs with calendar programs like Google, iCloud, Outlook Office 365, Outlook Exchange, and Outlook.com. Any changes made to your appointments in Acuity, whether canceled, rescheduled, or edited, are automatically reflected in your synced third-party calendar. For instance, Google Calendar updates almost instantly, while Microsoft Calendars may take up to 10 minutes to reflect these changes. Plus, to prevent clients from booking appointments when you’re busy, you can also block off time in Acuity for events on your third-party calendar.

You can even let your staff members see Acuity appointments on their personal calendars by syncing their third-party calendars. To do this, simply add them as a contributor if you’re using a Squarespace account or as a user if you’re logged in with an Acuity account.

Payment processor integrations

Squarespace lets you collect payments for appointments by integrating with popular payment processors like Stripe, Square, and PayPal. Before accepting payments, you must connect at least one of these processors to your Acuity account. However, once connected, you can manage your payment preferences and account settings through the processor’s online portal or mobile app.

Remember, the payment processors used in Acuity are separate from those in Squarespace Commerce, and each comes with its own terms and conditions. For instance, Square’s processing fees differ depending on how the payment is made, while Stripe’s fees vary by country (USA, UK, Ireland, and Australia).

Scheduling blocks

Squarespace Acuity’s Scheduling Blocks let you smoothly integrate your scheduling page into your Squarespace site.

This means your visitors can book appointments directly without leaving the site. Setting up a scheduling block is simple; just edit the page, click “Add Block,” and select “Scheduling.” You can then choose which schedule to display, whether it’s your general schedule or one for a specific calendar, appointment type, or category.

Similarly, you can display a calendar from an Acuity account that is not linked to the Squarespace website as a custom link. Plus, for improved privacy, you can password protect your scheduling page, limiting access to only those with the password.

Squarespace Acuity: Integrations

Acuity integrates with Google Analytics to help you track how clients interact with your scheduler. With its valuable insights, you can refine your booking process and improve appointment rates.

Getting started is fairly simple. Just sign up for a Google Analytics account and follow the guide available on their site. After setting up the integration, it may take up to 24 hours for statistics to start populating in Google Analytics. Acuity will only send events that occur after the integration is live. When using Google Analytics for conversion tracking, keep in mind that conditions are case-sensitive. For instance, entering “Page_view” instead of “page_view” can stop your goals from tracking properly. So, it’s better to consult Google’s documentation on custom dimensions and metrics for accuracy before you get started.

Further, with the help of API services like Zapier, you can integrate with several third-party apps. Some key integrations include syncing your appointments with personal or business calendars, setting up video conferencing, and connecting with tools for social media, email marketing, accounting, conversion tracking, CRM, or other client engagement applications. These integrations help you to streamline your workflow and enhance your scheduling capabilities.

Squarespace Acuity: My verdict

With its wide range of features, seamless integrations, and flexible pricing plans, Acuity makes it easy to manage scheduling, payments, and client communications all in one place. Whether you just launched your first business or are part of a larger team, you get the tools to improve your booking flow, client engagement, and grow your business efficiently.

But, don’t just take our word for it, it’s always best to try out the features for yourself. So, if you have a website on Squarespace or are currently on a free trial, give Acuity Scheduling a test run and see if it meets your expectations.

XRP vs Bitcoin: 16% Growth May Be Just Beginning

by admin September 28, 2025

Following an explosive rally of 320% at the beginning of the year, it seemed that XRP’s outperformance of Bitcoin had come to an end. Currently, one XRP token is estimated to be worth 0.00002541 BTC, which is 25.81% below its peak value.

For many, this marked the end, but Bollinger Bands support the opposite thesis — and they do so on the weekly timescale. XRP has just defended its mid-band versus Bitcoin on the weekly chart, making the scenario of testing the higher band at 0.000026 BTC more probable for now.

This would be 16% higher than the current price.

XRP/BTC on Binance by TradingView

It is all about chart mechanics. When a pair holds the weekly mid-band, it signals not collapse but the possibility of reaching the top band. That’s what’s on the table now: 0.000026 as the next target price.

Had the defense failed, the conversation would already be about 0.000021, but it didn’t. The ratio stayed alive.

XRP, Bitcoin and dollar

In the meantime, Bitcoin is trading at six-figure prices and Ethereum is holding at around $4,000. However, none of this explains why XRP at $2.78 is such a big deal. The ratio does.

Traders who only look at the dollar chart miss the fact that XRP has a clean 16% gap above it before resistance even shows up. The whole play is this: The mid-band held, the upper band is in sight.

If XRP/BTC breaks into that zone, it won’t just be a random candle. It will be the first serious confirmation in months that this pair is alive and well. The weekly bands are already pointing the way.

A rugged beast with a 20,000mAh battery and a camping light joins 2025’s unstoppable projector smartphone craze

by admin September 28, 2025

  • Blackview XPLORE 2 480p projection resolution risks underwhelming image quality
  • 20,000mAh battery promises endurance but adds significant device weight
  • Outdoor device with a 467lm camping light, infrared control, survives a six-meter drop, and is resistant to boiling water

Several rugged smartphones have arrived in 2025 with built-in projectors, including the Oukitel WP100 Titan, Doogee V Max Play, 8849 Tank 4, Ulefone Armor 34 Pro, and the Blackview Active 12 Pro rugged tablet.

The new Blackview XPLORE 2 Projector 5G joins this growing list, reinforcing the idea that smartphone projectors are no longer isolated experiments.

Yet the pattern raises questions about real-world use and long-term value, especially since these devices still largely target niche outdoor or industrial users rather than mainstream consumers.

Projection performance and screen specifications

The XPLORE 2 reportedly offers, “up to 100-inch 480p ultra-clear projection” at “100 lumens high brightness,” featuring auto vertical keystone correction and a 2-watt Smart-K Box Speaker.

The 480p resolution and 100-lumen brightness suggest that the image quality will likely lag behind that of even entry-level dedicated projectors.

Claims such as “300% smoother projection” at “up to 120 frames per second” indicate an effort to deliver fluid visuals, but without independent verification, these specs remain unproven.

The phone features a 6.73-inch 3.2K AMOLED screen with a “2600 nits industry-leading peak brightness” and adaptive refresh rates.

Sign up to the TechRadar Pro newsletter to get all the top news, opinion, features and guidance your business needs to succeed!

It is powered by the Dimensity 8300 chipset with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM (expandable by 32GB) and up to 1TB UFS4.0 storage with 2TB expansion.

Under the hood, there is a 20,000mAh dual-cell battery, marketed as the largest rugged phone battery.

This battery offers 75 days of ultra-long standby and 13 hours of non-stop projection, alongside 120-watt charging.

You may like

The practical benefits of such capacity may be offset by the device’s heavy 710-gram weight and 29-millimeter thickness, more in line with a rugged tablet.

Blackview XPLORE 2 has IP68, IP69K, and MIL-STD-810H certifications, with drop resistance up to six meters, and the company says this device can survive a 500-kilogram load or 80°C boiling water.

These specifications target extreme conditions such as camping, construction, or rescue work, and is designed for outdoor use with a 467-lumen camping light, an infrared remote control, dual waterproof USB ports, and AI rainproof touch.

The XPLORE 2’s extensive feature list, including AI tools, voiceprint activation, and eSIM support, suggests a push to position rugged projector phones as versatile flagships.

However, the combination of low-resolution projection and bulk may limit the device’s appeal beyond enthusiasts or field professionals.

Although currently out of stock, the phone is listed on Blackview’s website for about $634.

Researchers Build Microscopic Gears Powered by Light in Milestone for Nano-Scale Machines

by admin September 28, 2025

In brief

  • Scientists etched working gear trains on a chip, driven solely by photon momentum.
  • The devices could someday power microfluidic pumps, reconfigurable optics, and tiny surgical tools.
  • Efficiency remains extremely low, making the work an elegant proof-of-concept, not a product.

Researchers have built microscopic machines—complete with working gears, racks, and pinions—that run entirely on light.

The study, published recently in Nature, marks the first time engineers have assembled functional “gear trains” at micrometer scales, harnessing photons rather than motors or wires to drive motion.

If the technology matures, then its future could look surprisingly practical. Light-driven micromotors could pump reagents in postage-stamp-sized diagnostic labs, steer mirrors inside ultra-compact cameras, or open and close valves in drug-delivery implants—no batteries or wiring required.

In data centers, swarms of these gear systems might reconfigure optical circuits on the fly, helping direct laser signals between chips. And in biomedical research, tiny optomechanical arms could one day manipulate single cells or proteins with pinpoint control, performing tasks now reserved for bulky, expensive instruments.

Tiny gears, big ambitions

The achievement, led by a team of physicists and engineers using standard semiconductor fabrication tools, demonstrates a long-sought bridge between photonics and mechanics: miniature machines powered and controlled by beams of light.

Each “metamachine,” as the authors call them, is etched onto a chip using lithography similar to that used for computer chips. When illuminated, the patterned metasurfaces redirect photons in such a way that their momentum—tiny though it is—translates into torque, setting the gears spinning.

The devices aren’t merely rotating discs. They include entire assemblies of interconnected parts, like trains of gears that transmit force, and rack-and-pinion systems that convert rotation into linear motion. By changing the polarization of the light or tweaking the metasurface geometry, the researchers can reverse direction or modulate speed.

They even coupled these microscopic engines to mirrors, demonstrating how mechanical movement could alter optical signals on demand—a tantalizing glimpse at reconfigurable optical circuits.

Yet, as with many dazzling breakthroughs, the results come with caveats that cast them more as proof-of-concept than practical prototype. The conversion efficiency is vanishingly small, around one ten-trillionth of the light’s energy.

In other words, these machines operate—but barely. The torque they generate is minuscule, the rotations slow, and the operation precariously dependent on precise illumination and stable environments. Thermal effects from absorbed light can introduce drift or damage, and the machines themselves face the timeless foes of mechanics: friction, wear, and contamination.

From lab curiosity to future tools

Still, the demonstration matters. For decades, researchers have tried to integrate moving mechanical components with optical and electronic systems at micron scales, only to hit engineering dead ends. Electrical micro-actuators demand wiring and contacts that become unmanageable at such dimensions. Chemical and magnetic drives bring complexity and incompatibility with chip manufacturing.

Light offers a non-contact alternative—if it can be tamed to do useful work. By embedding optical metasurfaces directly into the gear structures, the team has shown that photons can indeed serve as a power source, however inefficient, for linked mechanical motion.

The potential applications are wide-ranging, if distant. In microfluidics, light-driven pumps or valves might one day move molecules without electrodes or tubing. In sensing and optics, miniature mirrors and shutters could dynamically steer or filter light, building blocks for agile photonic circuits.

Biologists dream of micromechanical tools that can operate inside cells or manipulate microscopic organisms without wires or magnets. Even fundamental science could benefit: arrays of these tiny gears could help researchers study friction, adhesion, and wear at scales where surface forces dominate.

How it works, in miniature

What makes the approach particularly appealing is its compatibility with established chipmaking processes. The metamachines are fabricated from common materials using lithographic steps already routine in semiconductor foundries. That means, in theory, entire fields of microdevices—optical, mechanical, or even biological—could someday incorporate these structures as easily as adding a new layer of circuitry.

But realizing that promise will require solving a formidable list of problems. Light is an elegant power source, but a weak one; each photon carries only a wisp of momentum. Scaling up output may demand lasers so intense they introduce destructive heating. The gears’ tiny teeth must mesh with atomic precision, making them vulnerable to defects and dust. And while the study shows operation over hours, questions linger about longevity, repeatability, and control in realistic environments.

For now, the metamachines are best viewed as exquisite demonstrations of what’s possible rather than as ready-to-use components. But in a field where progress has long been measured in nanometers, even small steps can feel revolutionary. The vision of microscopic factories, weaving motion from beams of light, remains distant—but suddenly, it’s no longer imaginary.

GTA 5’s Stars Sell You On ROG Xbox Ally Handhelds

by admin September 28, 2025

To promote preorders for the ROG Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X, Asus looked to one of the most popular video games of all time: Grand Theft Auto V. Michael De Santa actor Ned Luke and Franklin Clinton actor Shawn Fonteno appear in a new social media ad talking about the upcoming portable PC devices.

“It’s handheld freedom for everybody,” says Fonteno in the clip posted on X by Asus. “You know you gotta have an ally, and Xbox picked the right Ally,” adds Luke. Microsoft and Asus finally revealed the price points for the two PC portable devices yesterday. The ROG Xbox Ally will cost $600 in the US, while the Xbox Ally X will cost $1,000. Both handhelds will launch October 16.

The base model ROG Xbox Ally has drawn comparisons to the Steam Deck OLED from a specs perspective, featuring an AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor (Zen 4), 16GB of DDR5 RAM, and a 512GB SSD. Meanwhile, the premium Xbox Ally X has an AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor (Zen 5), 24GB DDR5 RAM, and a 1TB SSD. In June, GameSpot got hands-on time with the Xbox Ally X.

Asus announced that the GTA V stars would “help get folks aboard the ROG Xbox Ally hype train” last month. Previously, the company has worked with GTA V star Steven Ogg (Trevor Philips), too.

Earlier this month, Microsoft revealed that it was raising Xbox prices once again in the US. Starting October 3, the Xbox Series S will retail for $400 (up from $380), while the Xbox Series X 1TB will cost $650 (up from $600).

It’s possible to get Silksong’s double jump in Act 1 well before you’re supposed to, you just have to be enough of a platforming god to prove you don’t need it

by admin September 28, 2025

Cofy on YouTube has published a video guide for sequence breaking Hollow Knight: Silksong to unlock its double jump, the Faydown Cloak, before you’re supposed to and without the intended prerequisite items. The only catch is that it looks incredibly challenging to pull off, demanding both patience and twitch reflexes.

Both Hollow Knights are deliciously old school in how they make you work for your double jump, withholding it until deep into the game. In Silksong, the Faydown Cloak is located at the top of Mount Fay, past a challenging, platforming-centric level that requires the Clawline, an Act 2 ability. At least, it’s supposed to require the Clawline. For the skip, Cofy needed:

  • The Needolin
  • Swift Step
  • Reaper Crest
  • Drifter’s Cloak
  • Sharpdart

This is already nuts because the Sharpdart itself is designed to require the Faydown Cloak to grab—it’s a Catch 22. But Cofy also has a guide showing the requisite jumping tech to get the Sharpdart before the Faydown Cloak. Sharpdart is a dash attack that Cofy is able to use as a poor man’s Clawline during the climb.

Related articles

Mount Fay’s only entrance is in the Slab, so you have to get captured by a Wardenfly and finish the prison escape sequence first. After that, it’s mostly just ultra instinct platforming. Cofy seems to use the Reaper Crest’s wider hurtbox to pogo off enemies while practically level with them, instead of above. They also show that it’s possible to jump up the seemingly unclimbable slippery slopes on the mountain.

Cofy’s gnarliest trick, though, is purposefully dying in strategic locations to leave behind a cocoon they can run back and pogo off for extra height, completing otherwise impossible jumps. That just feels particularly hardcore.

After all that, you can, indeed, technically get the Faydown Cloak in Act 1 and without the Clawline. But this isn’t exactly a handy trick for average players to become overpowered early. In fact, many of the YouTube comments on Cofy’s video suggest this means Michael Saves’ Silksong Randomizer mod can be made even more challenging than it already is: Its item spawn pools no longer have to ensure that the Clawline is obtainable outside Mount Fay to avoid softlocking players.

Scalpers are already selling the promise of an Asus ROG Xbox Ally X for over $2,000 when it’s still available for pre-order at half the price

by admin September 28, 2025

If you have your eye on the upcoming Asus ROG Xbox Ally X handheld gaming PC, be careful where you buy it from. As reported by Tom’s Hardware, scalpers are already trying to rip people off with eBay listings charging over two times MSRP—while the ROG Xbox Ally X is still available for pre-order at its normal price.

Tom’s Hardware spotted numerous eBay listings for the Xbox Ally X priced as high as $2,500. For context, the MSRP is $999 for the Xbox Ally X or $599 for the base Xbox Ally. Both devices are set to launch on October 16.

If you want to snag a Xbox Ally, it’s best to avoid eBay entirely. At the time of writing, pre-orders are still open for the Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X at Best Buy, Asus, and Microsoft (if you’re outside the US, you can check the official Xbox pre-order page to find pre-order options in your region). This is a pretty pricey handheld as it is, all things considered, so don’t let a scalper trick you into paying double.

Related articles

If you consider the ROG Xbox Ally X part of the Xbox line-up (which Microsoft seems to), it’s the most expensive Xbox to date. For $1,000, you get an AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme chip, 24GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, and a 7-inch FHD IPS display. Benchmark testing for the Z2 Extreme chip so far shows a decent improvement in performance over the Z1 Extreme in the non-Xbox ROG Ally X released last year, but mainly at lower settings.

If you already have a 2024 ROG Ally X, the upcoming Xbox version might not be enough of an upgrade to justify paying $1,000. It’s a worthier choice if you’re coming from an older or budget handheld, or if you’re picking up your first handheld gaming PC.

However, at this price, the Xbox Ally X is trying to compete with budget gaming laptops, many of which have discrete GPUs that can offer stronger performance. The handheld form factor is an understandable selling point here, but even so, it’s worth considering all of your portable gaming options—like the Steam Deck, whose LCD version is down to $320—before buying.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson says “we’ll see” about running for President

by admin September 28, 2025

The Rock has yet again addressed fans who want him to run for president of the United States, saying he’s honored and we’ll just have to see what happens.

The wrestling legend turned actor has long been floated as a potential political candidate, with polls in recent years showing nearly half of Americans would support a “Rock for President” campaign. Multiple parties have even reportedly approached Johnson about running, though he’s consistently stopped short of making a commitment.

Article continues after ad

Johnson has addressed the idea multiple times since 2016, calling it “an honor” that people ask but citing his career and family as reasons to stay out of politics. While he endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in 2020, Johnson later said he wouldn’t make public endorsements going forward, noting the division his previous stance created.

The Rock can’t escape presidential election questions

Appearing on Variety’s Award Circuit podcast to promote his upcoming A24 drama Smashing Machine, Johnson was again asked if a presidential run could be in his future. He acknowledged how persistent the conversation has become.

“It’s wild, man,” Johnson said. “I’m always honored that people ask that. I love what I do. I love storytelling. But yeah… we’ll see.”

While the Hollywood star once again stopped short of confirming any political ambitions, his response is unlikely to silence speculation. As long as polls show support and the “Rock for President” idea continues to trend, questions about whether Johnson will step into the political arena don’t appear to be going away.

XRP price eyes $4, ‘very healthy’ chart has analyst bullish

by admin September 28, 2025

Analysts are expressing extreme bullishness on the XRP price prospects, with some targeting $4 as the next significant milestone.

Summary

  • Analysts are bullish on XRP, citing the recent SEC ruling that removed regulatory uncertainty and opened the door for institutional investment.
  • With partnerships spanning over 300 financial institutions and potential involvement in upcoming central bank digital currency initiatives, XRP could see significant upside despite recent short-term volatility, with some forecasting a rise toward $4.

Analyst Poseidon posted that “XRP is heading to $4 sooner than we think” and encouraged followers to examine chart patterns that suggest upward momentum building.

XRP price analysis by Poseidon

Regulatory clarity fuels XRP’s long-term optimism

The bullish sentiment emerges as XRP (XRP) trades around $2.79, exhibiting mixed patterns following its break from key resistance levels.

One analyst, who goes by “Dominus,” provided a comprehensive bullish case for XRP, noting that the SEC lawsuit resolution has removed significant regulatory uncertainty.

The court ruling that XRP is not a security has cleared the path for institutional investment that was previously restricted due to legal concerns.

$XRP – The Big Report:

Everyone who knows me understands that I’m a major investor in XRP. This report is going to lay out the facts and show you exactly where we’re heading next.

XRP is a masterpiece for the long term. If you’re thinking of making a quick buck with day trading… pic.twitter.com/iWUuczf2mb

— 𝐃𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐔𝐒 ⚡ XRP Syndicate (@BaronDominus) September 27, 2025

Domnius pointed out that XRP maintained its position in the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market cap throughout the SEC lawsuit period.

The analyst noted that XRP missed the 2021 bull market due to regulatory pressure and suggested that pent-up demand could drive significant price appreciation.

The regulatory clarity has opened possibilities for institutional products, with speculation about potential XRP ETF development.

Ripple’s partnerships with over 300 financial institutions worldwide provide fundamental support for long-term value.

The European Central Bank has tested the Ripple network and mentioned it in official reports, while Bank of America and other major banks have explored integration possibilities.

Analyst cites XRP’s previous bullish performance

Dominus noted that XRP experienced a 60,000% increase in 2017, demonstrating the cryptocurrency’s ability to appreciate significantly in price during favorable market conditions.

The analyst argued that current conditions present similar potential with improved regulatory clarity.

The timing coincides with the development of central bank digital currencies, particularly the European Central Bank’s plans to launch a CBDC by year-end.

XRP’s infrastructure positions it to play a key role in the implementation of CBDCs across multiple jurisdictions.

Amidst the overall mixed market performance, the XRP price has dropped over 7% in the last seven days.
