Fortnite is about to drop three seasons in one day

by admin May 19, 2025

Fortnite is about to blast players with a content tsunami by releasing three new seasons in one massive update day.

Fortnite isn’t just a game anymore, it’s a gaming theme park. Since 2017, it has ballooned into a buffet of modes. Battle Royale is still the headliner, but players can also hop into LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, Creative, or Fortnite Festival. Each one scratches a different itch, from PvE hoarding to kart-racing chaos to musical jam sessions.

Epic usually staggers its seasonal updates like a reasonable developer. That way, Fortnite always feels “alive,” without melting the servers or players’ brains. Until now.

Fortnite’s doing the most by dropping three seasons on June 8

On June 8, Epic’s torching the rulebook. LEGO Fortnite, Fortnite OG, and Battle Royale are all getting new seasons. At once. No chill.

LEGO Fortnite’s up first, riding the lightsaber glow from its Star Wars event, which wraps June 7. Summer 2025 LEGO sets are dropping too, including Mecha Team Leader and Captain Phasma. You can expect tie-in skins, a continued survival grind, and premium LEGO Pass goodies.

Fortnite OG, the nostalgia machine, is returning with Season 4. That means classic chaos, Tilted Towers, pump shotguns, and maybe some map cycling back to 2018 greatness. If it ain’t broke, let Epic repackage it and make you miss it again.

Battle Royale is also getting a refresh. The current Star Wars-themed Galactic Battle season ends June 7, and while Epic is tight-lipped, leakers have found evidence that hints at a superhero season. That means both Fortnite OG and Fortnite Battle Royale will feature superhero seasons at the same time.

Launching three seasons together means maximum buzz, maximum chaos, and maximum player retention. Each mode stays distinct, but they’re all connected, same engine, shared rewards, overlapping cosmetics.

Fortnite’s future looks bold, but not without bumps. Despite beating Apple in court, the game’s still missing from the iOS App Store. Legal win, platform loss. Still, Epic’s betting big on June 8. Three seasons, one day, zero apologies. Hope your hard drive’s ready.

Jamie Dimon Says His Bank Will Allow Purchases

by admin May 19, 2025

Clients of JPMorgan Chase (JPM) will soon have the option to buy bitcoin

, according to CEO Jamie Dimon, who spoke at the bank’s annual Investor Day on Monday, signaling a shift in how the firm approaches the asset.

“We are going to allow you to buy it,” Dimon told shareholders, though he added the bank has no plans to hold the asset in custody.

Dimon, long known for his skepticism of cryptocurrency, doubled down in his closing remarks, saying he’s still “not a fan” of bitcoin, mainly because of its use for illegal activities, including sex trafficking and money laundering

He also pushed back on the industry’s hype around blockchain technology, arguing it’s less important than it’s made out to be — even as JPMorgan continues building in the space.

“We have been talking about blockchain for 12 to 15 years,” he said. “We spend too much on it. It doesn’t matter as much as you all think.”

The bank’s own blockchain platform, Kinexys, recently ran a test transaction on a public blockchain for the first time, settling tokenized U.S. Treasuries on Ondo Chain’s testnet.

Haunted looking art director livestreams apology for Marathon theft scandal, but chat is merciless: ‘Would write an original comment, but I don’t see any good ones to plagarize’

by admin May 19, 2025

Last week Bungie was accused of using the designs of an independent artist, Antireal, without her knowledge or permission. It’s a pretty cut-and-dry case: elements of Marathon’s environment art unquestionably copy iconography from posters designed by Antireal in 2017. It didn’t help that several of the game’s art team also follow her accounts on social media.

Bungie issued a statement acknowledging the “unauthorised use” and blamed the situation on a former employee:

“We immediately investigated a concern regarding unauthorized use of artist decals in Marathon and confirmed that a former Bungie artist included these in a texture sheet that was ultimately used in-game.

You may like

“This issue was unknown by our existing art team, and we are still reviewing how this oversight occurred. We take matters like this very seriously. We have reached out to [Antireal] to discuss this issue and are committed to do right by the artist.”

That mea culpa was followed last Friday by a livestream in which game director Joe Ziegler and art director Joseph Cross directly addressed the controversy, beginning with another prepared apology from Cross before the pair fielded questions. I will say upfront that this is in places uncomfortable viewing: Cross is clearly exhausted and looks miserable throughout. Regardless of how this plagiarism accusation plays out, and how Antireal is compensated, it is obvious these events have taken a considerable personal toll on Bungie’s staff.

The chat is largely oblivious to this and some viewers go straight for the jugular. Marathon’s tagline is “ESCAPE WILL MAKE ME GOD” which was co-opted during the stream and turned into the meme “PLAGIARISM WILL MAKE ME GOD”, which was spammed on repeat throughout, with minor variants.

Cross somehow manages to get through an hour of this, and gamely answers some of the most prominent audience questions. One of these is about how exactly Bungie will compensate Antireal and why it was scrubbing all the assets in question rather than employing the artist who made them.

Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals, as picked by the PC Gamer team.

“For what it’s worth we’re confident the majority of the assets in that capacity are original, created internally by our internal artists,” says Cross. “We would love to work with Antireal if that’s an opportunity that presents itself: that’s part of what we sort of reached out to communicate.”

This is one of the elements of the plagiarism scandal that has gotten out of hand. Bungie has definitely incorporated some of Antireal’s iconography, and its feet should be held to the fire for that. But this has now ballooned into a baseless accusation from some that Marathon’s entire art style is plagiarised from this artist.

“At this point it’s a very small set of assets,” says Cross. “The decals themselves are the kind of details that are placed on the sides of buildings or crates or something like that so we absolutely do need to replace them and we would rule in any sort of way of doing that including contracting, collaborating or working with the artist for sure.”

“Something slipped through our net,” adds Ziegler. “So we have to go back and look at everything just to make sure that nothing else slipped through our net if that makes sense. Because it caught us by surprise and we want to make sure that we’re doing the right diligence to ensure it doesn’t happen again: so either way we’re going to scrub all the assets just because we want to make sure that we didn’t miss something else.”

Whatever else can be said about Bungie, and how these assets found their way into Marathon, it is at the very least holding up its hands. But there’s not much sympathy out there for the studio: probably because this is the fourth time this has happened in four years: last year fan art was used while designing a Destiny 2 Nerf gun; in 2023, an in-game Destiny 2 cutscene featured artwork copied from another artist; in 2021, Bungie admitted that fanart of Xivu Arath was “accidentally used” in a trailer for the Witch Queen.

The YouTube comments under the livestream are unforgiving. “You know, it’s telling that you used Percy Shelley’s Ozymandias in your cinematic, a poem that spoke of the fall of once great empires, lost to the sands of time,” says SunCityRebel. Other examples include: “I would write an original comment, but I don’t see any good ones to plagarize” and “art extraction shooter genre.”

Inevitably, there’s plenty more of that on the game’s subreddit, but also a little more empathy for the situation:

“I think it’s a good apology,” says Marikal. “You guys make it seem like this guy is an evil mastermind stealing stuff on purpose. What happened was some contractor working under him stole stuff back in 2020 and it slipped past him. Yes it is his responsibility, and so he is trying to make it right and fix it, but it’s not like he wanted this.”

This incident has taken place at a time where it feels like, for whatever reason, community sentiment has soured badly around Marathon. Despite a fantastic launch trailer and broadly positive responses from those who’ve played it, you don’t have to go far to find folk talking about how “cooked” the game / studio is, confidently predicting it’s going to fail, and making comparison to another Sony-published live service shooter: the catastrophe that was Concord.

Bungie was up against it with Marathon anyway: a plagiarism scandal in the runup to release was the last thing it needed. A new report claims morale at the studio is in “free fall.” Senior individuals like Cross have to carry the can, and that’s their job. But for the studio and the game’s sake, this situation needs an amicable resolution and a line drawn under it yesterday.

All Water Tower Camcorder Spots

by admin May 19, 2025

Image: Don’t Nod

The water tower in Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is famous for its giant antlers symbolizing Velvet Cove’s dedication to hunting deer. To Swann, it looks like someone was deranged enough to put antlers on the water tower to make it look like the statue of a giant alien overlord, hence the title of her memoir, Our Alien Antler Overlord.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage Part 2 Is Short, Shocking, And Strangely Satisfying

In Tape 1 of Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, you can tape the water tower from four different vantage points around town. Each view of the structure is absolutely stunning whether it’s day or night. Here are all the spots where you can tape the Velvet Cove water tower.

Water tower one

Screenshot: Don’t Nod / Kotaku

At the start of the game, you can see the water tower outside of Swann’s bedroom window. You might want to aim the camera from a good angle when trying to capture footage of the tower so it doesn’t get blocked by the window frames. Otherwise, you’ll only see a sliver of one of the antlers.

Water tower two

Screenshot: Don’t Nod / Kotaku

When you head to Movie Palace to return Swann’s latest VHS rental at sunset, capture footage of the water tower from either side of the Movie Palace building. You can tape it from the left side where the van with the yellow canoe on top is parked by the fence, or the right side, where there’s a standee of a scary clown.

Water tower three

Screenshot: Don’t Nod / Kotaku

While you’re at the abandoned playground after dark helping Autumn, Nora, and Kat find the keys to the ice cream shop after Corey threw them over the fence, tape the water tower from above the cargo train. You’ll see some shooting stars in the process.

Water tower four

Screenshot: Don’t Nod / Kotaku

Capture footage of the water from the parking lot of the Blue Spruce before Bloom & Rage’s first concert. The trees that surround it in the blue skies of the early evening make it look like something out of Twin Peaks.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – Tape 1 and Tape 2 are out now on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PCs

INIU P51L-E1 Power Bank review: a useful little power bank with some handy features that make it even better value

by admin May 19, 2025

Why you can trust TechRadar

We spend hours testing every product or service we review, so you can be sure you’re buying the best. Find out more about how we test.

INIU P51L-E1 Power Bank: review

The INIU P51L-E1 Power Bank is a power bank with a large capacity and reasonable power output, capable of fast charging small and medium-sized devices. It cuts a rather inauspicious figure, although it’s sleek enough to stand out from the crowd – especially if you opt for one of the vibrant colorways. Meanwhile, its rounded edges improve ergonomics and portability.

The INIU P51L-E1 Power Bank features a screen for the battery percentage readout and nothing more, which is a shame since its large size would be able to contain more information besides, so it seems like a missed opportunity in this regard. The battery readout is also relatively small, although the digits are at least clear and bright, which makes them easy to read when glancing over from an angle.

It also feels reassuringly solid in the hand, with hardly any flex to the panels. The matte soft-touch material also feels quite premium, while the compact form factor places it alongside the best power banks for portability, given its aforementioned large capacity.

You may like

The INIU P51L-E1 Power Bank comes with some handy additional features: there’s a flashlight, which is easily toggled by double-tapping the power button, and an integrated USB-C cable that doubles as a carrying loop.

The latter feels quite durable, despite its thin size. However, the jack is prone to wobbling around while housed in its slot, which had me a little concerned that it might come loose, but it seemed to hold securely during my time with it.

This integrated cable can be used as an output or an input, as can the additional USB-C port. The USB-A port, however, is output only. The INIU P51L-E1 Power Bank has a maximum output of 22.5W, which is enough for fast-charging smartphones and other small devices, while three-way simultaneous charging is also possible.

When it comes to single charging, the INIU P51L-E1 Power Bank managed to charge my Google Pixel 7a, which has a 4,385mAh battery, from empty to full in just over 90 minutes, which is a credible performance. In the process, the battery dipped by 27%, meaning you should be able to get 3-4 charges out of it.

The INIU P51L-E1 Power Bank is a fair price considering its high capacity and additional features. It’s also very portable, which is a real boon for travelers. However, the equally capable Anker Zolo is about the same price, and also features an inbuilt cable – although it doesn’t have an integrated flashlight or a digital display.

It perhaps has the slight edge in terms of build quality, though, and offers slightly more power at 30W. But all things considered, the INIU P51L-E1 Power Bank is perhaps the more rounded choice in this sector.

Why we’re still playing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt 10 years later

by admin May 19, 2025

Ten years! How many times in the last decade have we fetched that frying pan, whistled for Roach to give us a lift, sliced drowners in half, and used our Witcher senses to track a blood trail to a monster’s lair, only to find a tragic story at the end of what seemed like a simple hunt?

The Witcher 3 was a shoo-in for the canon of all-time PC RPGs as soon as it released in May 2015. A decade flew by in an instant, and not just because the passage of time is a haunting reminder of mortality for those of us without witcher mutagens keeping us spry for centuries.

It’s hard to believe The Witcher 3 is 10 years old becuase it feels like few games have bested it since. The writing, voice acting, and world still rival games being released in 2025.

Bitcoin (BTC) Price Rebounds to $105K After Moody’s Downgrade; Crypto ETF Issuer Sees 35% Upside

by admin May 19, 2025

Cryptocurrencies regained footing on Monday after a rocky start to the trading session, mirroring a broader recovery in risk assets as traders digested Moody’s downgrade of U.S. government bonds.

Bitcoin

notched a strong rebound after slipping to as low as $102,000 early in the U.S. session, following its record weekly close at $106,600 overnight. The largest cryptocurrency by market cap climbed back to $105,000 in afternoon trading, up 0.4% over 24 hours. Ether rose 1.2%, reclaiming the $2,500 level.

DeFi lending platform Aave

outperformed most large-cap altcoins, while the majority of the broad-market CoinDesk 20 Index members still remained in the red despite advancing from their daily lows. Solana , Avalanche and Polkadot were down 2%-3%.

The bounce extended to U.S. stocks, too, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq erasing their morning decline.

The early pullback in crypto and stocks came after Moody’s late Friday downgraded the U.S. credit rating from its AAA status. The move rattled bond markets, pushing 30-year Treasury yields above 5% and the 10-year note to over 4.5%.

Still, some analysts downplayed the downgrade’s long-term impact on asset prices.

“What does [the downgrade] mean for markets? Longer-term – really nothing,” said Ram Ahluwalia, CEO of wealth management firm Lumida Wealth. He added that in the short term there might be some selling pressure centered on U.S. Treasuries due to large institutional investors rebalancing, as some of them are mandated to hold assets only in AAA-rated securities.

“Moody’s is the last of the three major rating agencies to downgrade U.S. debt. This was the opposite of a surprise – it was a long time coming,” Callie Cox, chief market strategist at Ritholtz Wealth Management, said in an X post. “That’s why stock investors don’t seem to care.”

Bitcoin targets $138K this year

While BTC hovers just below its January record prices, digital asset ETF issuer 21Shares sees more upside for this year.

“Bitcoin is on the verge of a breakout,” research strategist Matt Mena wrote in a Monday report. He argued that BTC’s current rally is driven not by retail mania, but by a confluence of structural forces, including institutional inflows, a historic supply crunch and improving macro conditions that suggests a more durable and mature path to fresh all-time highs.

Spot Bitcoin ETFs have consistently absorbed more BTC than is mined daily, tightening supply while major institutions, corporations such as Strategy and newcomer Twenty One Capital accumulate and even states explore creating strategic reserves.

These factors combined could lift BTC to $138,500 this year, Mena forecasted, translating to a roughly 35% rally for the largest crypto.

How To Find, Harvest, And Use Minecraft Coral

by admin May 19, 2025

Coral was added to Minecraft back in July 2018 as a way to add more color and function to the survival game’s oceans. While coral has limited uses, if you don’t know how to correctly harvest and use it, it could quickly turn dull, lifeless, and boring.

There are five types of coral–tube, fire, horn, bubble, and brain, as well as fanned variants of all of those. They naturally generate in warm ocean biomes in coral reefs, but they need water to survive. Otherwise, they’ll turn into dead coral. Where once they were bright blues, oranges, pinks, and yellows, dead coral turns gray and lifeless.

Coral is found in warm oceans

How to collect Coral in Minecraft

To collect coral, you’ll need a tool with the Silk Touch Minecraft enchantment. It does mine instantly, so unlike Obsidian you won’t need to spend ages harvesting it. That’s especially helpful since it’s underwater. You don’t want to drown, after all.

Occasionally, the Wandering Trader will offer coral blocks for three emeralds. Once you’ve collected Coral, you’ll find it can’t be used to craft anything. It only has one purpose in the game–looking pretty.

Coral needs to be in water to survive

How to use Coral in Minecraft

Now that you’ve got your coral safely from the bottom of the ocean, you can plant it inside lakes, rivers, and aquariums on your base for decoration or to give a nice colorful home to your fish. However, what happens if you want to use it outside of the water?

You can plant coral outside of water itself, but it have access to a water source on at least one side. That means that, technically, you could use coral as a building material as long as you have a hidden (or not so hidden) irrigation system keeping it wet.

If you want to use coral as a decoration, you can place a block of sand and pour a bucket of water on it, waterlogging the block. Then, plant the coral fans on top of the waterlogged block, and they won’t turn into dead coral. You can do this anywhere in the game, with any block that can be waterlogged.

Investors Snap Up $200M in Ethereum Funds as Interest Grows After Pectra Upgrade

by admin May 19, 2025

In brief

  • Ethereum products’ inflows surged after the network’s Pectra upgrade.
  • Year-to-date flows for crypto funds topped $7.4 billion, a new record for 2025.
  • Ethereum’s Pectra upgrade has made it easier for institutions to integrate staking rewards into their current products, Sui Chung, CEO of CF Benchmarks, said.

Ethereum investment products generated $205 million worth of inflows last week following the asset’s climb toward $2,700—far more than the $1.5 million a week prior—according to a report from crypto asset manager CoinShares on Monday.

Overall, investors stuffed $785 million into digital asset investment products, including spot exchange-traded funds, lifting year-to-date inflows to more than $7.4 billion, their highest point of 2025.

“Ethereum was the standout performer,” CoinShares Head of Research James Butterfill wrote, noting that Solana-based funds generated $1 million worth of outflows.

On Monday, the price of Ethereum had fallen to $2,400, a 4.3% decrease over the past day, according to crypto data provider CoinGecko. However, the asset’s price was still up 50% over the past thirty days, and notably higher than the $1,850 mark where it began this month.

Despite notching one of its worst performances on record in the first quarter, Butterfill told Decrypt that Ethereum investors have still been willing to gain exposure to the asset.

“It’s been massively beaten down in price recently,” he said. “What’s been really encouraging, when […] the price has been beaten down, it’s seen a big influx of inflows.”

Less than two weeks ago, Ethereum activated the first phase of its Pectra upgrade. Among sweeping changes to the network, Pectra improved scaling solutions that aim to keep transactions affordable long-term, while increasing the amount of Ethereum that can be staked per validator—another move aimed at honing the network’s overall efficiency.

Although Ethereum funds exhibited notable strength, Bitcoin products attracted more cash. After pulling  in $557 million last week, Bitcoin funds have generated $7.2 billion in inflows year-to-date, accounting for the lion’s share of all flows.

Overall, digital asset investment products notched their fifth straight week of inflows. That lifted year-to-date inflows to $7.5 billion, pushing past a peak of $7.2 billion in February, before U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs created weeks of tariff-linked turmoil.

According to crypto data provider Coinglass, spot Ethereum ETFs have lagged behind Bitcoin counterparts in the U.S., pulling in $2.5 billion compared to the latter’s $42 billion, since their debuts in 2024. Part of that disparity, analysts say, is because of a lack of staking rewards for Ethereum ETF investors.

Through staking, users can earn rewards by pledging assets to a network in order to help it process transactions. The process became core to Ethereum with the network’s shift to a proof-of-stake consensus model in 2022.

By bringing a level of operational predictability to Ethereum staking, Ethereum’s Pectra upgrade will make it easier for institutions to integrate staking rewards into their products, according to Sui Chung, CEO of CF Benchmarks, which provides crypto pricing data to CME Group.

“This isn’t just a technical upgrade,” he told Decrypt. “To offer an ETH ETF that includes staking, fund managers need infrastructure that mirrors traditional finance with clear redemption timelines, reliable liquidity, and flexible control over assets.”

‘Crypto markets have been languishing in SEC limbo’

by admin May 19, 2025

In one of his first speeches since becoming chair of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in April, Paul Atkins addressed some of the regulatory concerns around the cryptocurrency industry.

In prepared remarks for a May 19 speech, Atkins said it was a “new day” for the crypto industry under the current leadership of the SEC. He suggested that the financial regulator would be more open to “adapt to and accommodate new developments” while still abiding by its statutes.

“The crypto markets have been languishing in SEC limbo for years,” said Atkins, adding:

“While I have directed Commission staff across our policy Divisions to begin drafting rule proposals related to crypto, the staff continue to ‘clear the brush’ through staff-level statements.”

Even before Atkins stepped into the role of SEC chair, the commission’s actions under Donald Trump suggested that it would radically depart from the direction of former chair Gary Gensler. In 2025, the SEC has dropped several investigations and enforcement actions against crypto companies and issued guidance on memecoins and security tokens.

Related: CFTC commissioner to leave agency on May 31

“As I begin my tenure as Chairman, I can tell you that we are getting back to our roots of promoting, rather than stifling, innovation,” said Atkins. “The markets innovate, and the SEC should not be in the business of telling them to stand still.”

Looking to Congress for market structure

Atkins’ remarks came as US lawmakers considered draft legislation to establish a regulatory structure for crypto markets. The proposed bill, moving through the House of Representatives, could clarify the roles the SEC and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) have in overseeing and regulating digital assets.

Until the legislation passes Congress and is signed into law, the SEC’s rules and guidelines over crypto could face pushback from affected parties.

The SEC chair has given opening remarks and overseen the commission’s roundtable events, discussing regulatory issues surrounding digital assets and blockchain. The next event, scheduled for June 9, will cover decentralized finance.
