A new Call of Duty game is on the horizon yet again, and it’s another direct sequel to the previous title.
Black Ops 7 will launch on Nov. 14, 2025, and Black Ops 6 players are eager to know what kind of content will be moving to the new game as party of the Carry Forward system that Call of Duty has been using of late.
Here’s everything there is to know about BO7 Carry Forward.

What is Carry Forward in BO7?
Traditionally, CoD games have all been independent from each other. But in recent years, the Carry Forward program allowed certain content to transfer between titles, such as Modern Warfare II operators and unlocks being playable in Modern Warfare III in 2022 and 2023, respectively. They have also been usable in Warzone, as well.
Black Ops 6 to Black Ops 7 will have a similar Carry Forward program, but with some specific restrictions.

The only content that will transfer to BO7 from BO6 via Carry Forward is Double XP tokens and GobbleGums. The rest of the content from BO6 will stay available in BO6 and Warzone, but not be available in BO7.
This means that any operators, operator skins, or weapons bought or unlocked in BO6 will not transfer to BO7. Activision said that this is because BO7 “needs to feel authentic to Call of Duty and its setting” in a community announcement on Aug. 26, 2025.
“We know there’s been a lot of conversation recently about the identity of Call of Duty,” Activision said. “Some of you have said we’ve drifted from what made Call of Duty unique in the first place: immersive, intense, visceral and in many ways grounded. That feedback hits home, and we take it seriously. We hear you.”
This means collab skins like Beavis & Butthead, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Squid Game will remain in BO6 and Warzone but not be available in BO7.
