Another way of getting a killing streak.

Fortnite’s Star Wars collaboration season, Galactic Battle, is almost coming to an end, and the season has a final surprise for the players with the Star Destroyer.

Before jumping into the upcoming Fortnite live event, players now have an opportunity to ride the Star Destroyer and rain down lasers on the enemies to get multiple kills without having the risk of being shot down. However, the Star Destroyer only spawns once during the matches, and you’ll have to beat other players to commandeer the massive spaceship.

To get a Star Destroyer in Fortnite, you have to wait until the second storm circle forms, and you should get a notification on your screen that the Star Destroyer Portal is now open. Next, you can open the map to spot the portal location and quickly make your way there to become the first one to go inside the Star Destroyer. The location of the portal is random in each match, but what we’ve noticed in our matches is that they’re usually in the centre of the safe zones. Being closer to this location should help you access the portal easily.

As the Star Destroyer is arguably the strongest vehicle, you are likely to face enemies from all directions, who will be trying to take you out before you enter it. To avoid that, we would recommend that you use the flying vehicles like the TIE Fighters and X-Wings on the map just after landing on the map and flying high in the sky to avoid taking enemy fire. After the announcement is done, use boost to speed up your way to the portal and eject directly inside it to trigger the cutscene and control the Star Destroyer.

Once you board the Star Destroyer in Fortnite, you don’t have to think about driving it because the Empire has more competent workers on the spaceship who take care of it. It moves in a straight line for 80 seconds, giving you complete access to the fun part of the spaceship: the lasers. Now, you can shoot down at buildings and enemies by using your left click on the mouse or R2 on controllers to fire down your heavy artillery. You can also use your right click or L2 to zoom your vision to pinpoint your laser accuracy on the map.

Each direct hit deals 120-100 damage, and two to three good shots often mean the end of any unfortunate enemy player who appears on your radar. As you scan your vision, enemies appear as red dots so you can aim at them to score easy kills, enemy and neutral NPCs also appear as red dots so you can eliminate them as well if you’re feeling bored. If you’re using it solo, the computer automatically targets and destroys other lasers aimed at structures for you.

I racked in six kills with my lasers and ended the match with an easy victory royale. If you are playing with your squad, each player controls their laser, which deals less damage compared to solo lasers. But if you’re in sync and line up your shots, you can easily delete enemy squads by simply pointing at them. It is also a great tool to eliminate players in the mid-game to thin out the crowd and win more matches.

After the time is over, you and your squad are ejected, and you continue with your regular battle royale match with the same loadout.
